Staying focused now separates the casual from the committed.

If you're being honest, it's easier to coast than to confront the work God is doing in your heart. But the truth is simple. The work that matters most is rarely easy, and God's refining never happens in convenience.

Oh my gosh, this is such a good reminder today. Like probably one that I needed to read just for myself. So I think we have one more day of solo Kayla, and then Kendra will be back. And as I'm reading this, I had to laugh when I read that very first line of Lint is a isn't a sprint, it's a season. So in high school, I was a sprinter. I still like to think of myself as a sprinter sometimes whenever I have to chase after my kids, but I was a sprinter because I did not like long distance. I was not great at long distance. I was not built for long distance. Your girl is five foot four, okay? Five foot three and a half, actually. But I my I have short legs and it just it wouldn't have worked out well for me to run distance. And so to hear that Lent is not a sprint, it is a season, it is a marathon. It's a very dark reminder to me, you know. I wasn't good at distance running, and sometimes I really struggle with the season of Lent because it is so easy to slip back into the conveniences of life. It is so easy to be distracted, be fatigued, have doubts that any changes are truly being made in my life, in my heart, in my soul. And so this reminder is just what I needed to. This this mid-portion of Lent is truly reminding me what is my comfort, what's my routine, where am I relying on myself where I should be relying on God. And I think one really powerful, powerful realization I've had in the last week is that I felt so strongly that I was fully relying on myself in my motherhood journey. And obviously that ain't it, guys. Like my Motherhood was never meant to be. It was never meant to be done without God at the lead. It was never meant to be done without our blessed mother guiding us. And I think this is the reminder that I needed today, in this very moment. That yes, it's hard. Yes, there are so many unknowns. No, I am not perfect, but I can't rely on myself to do it all. In fact, that's very prideful for me to think that I could make it through motherhood obstacles without God at the lead. And so knowing that it's as simple as return to daily prayer, return to scripture, return to obedience, I would say I've done those things decent throughout this Lint, but here's my opportunity to do them even better and to show up and make that intentional time and not be distracted by the world, not let the screams of the world grab my attention, but to stay focused and know that, you know what, God's working this for good. It might pass like a kidney stone, but God is working hardships in my motherhood journey for good. And I've got to simply keep showing up and being obedient. So let that be your challenge today. Don't drift away from the hard things. Don't settle for some band-aid that the world is going to offer you. Stay focused, stay faithful. Keep tuning in to this. You know, if this is your daily dose of time with God, time with Mary, keep turning this on. Push play and just know that the reward of showing up and sacrificing your worldly desires will be so, so worth it.
