Okay, it's me, Kayla, Solo. I know I'm so ready to have Kendra back. She will be back very, very soon. It like I said the other day, it's kind of lonely. These are way more fun when she's here with me. But I also know that life happens and she'll be back very soon. So today we're talking about the power of small sacrifices. And this speaks to my giving heart so, so much. My love language is gift giving, not gift receiving. I'm very awkward at receiving gifts, but gift giving and the little things that I can do for people to help them feel seen, help them feel loved. And it can be something as simple as a text message or a note in the mail or a bracelet that I've made for someone. But I love the part where it says these tiny acts are the heartbeat of holiness. And that it doesn't have to be some big, grandeur, expensive thing that we do for others. In fact, more often than not, it is showing up in the little things. I think that knowing that the sacrifice of the small things that we do strips us of our pride is just incredible. We have so many opportunities every single day to show up and be the hands and feet of Christ. And we miss them often because of the noise of this world, because of chasing worldly things and status and followers on social media when in all reality I think it was Mother Teresa that said, if you want to change the world, go home and love your family. There's so many little things that we can do, even in the four walls of our home to have these small sacrifices be offered up to God. One of the f my absolute favorite things to do for my kids is leaving little notes around the house. And I didn't even realize how much they paid attention to it until I got the sweetest little note that said smile from my middle daughter. It was in my bathroom. And not even that it's a sacrifice necessarily, but it was just thinking of others. And she just wrote this little note that said smile. And I actually was having a really tough day. And I looked up at my mirror and I saw it. And it was one of those, okay, God, I see you. I think we, like I said, I think so often we absolutely forget the power of being present, being intentional, listening to others to listen and knowing that even the smallest things, even a text message, can change someone's day. I have actually started whenever someone pops into my head, whenever God puts someone on my heart, I'll do my best to text them and just say, hey, I was thinking about you praying your day is going well. And I've had a few of them reply and tell me that, you know, that's just what I needed today. Thank you. I know that that's God working. I know that that's God working. And like I said, sacrifices might feel like a really strong word. Maybe it's just simply inconveniences. How long does it take to send a text message? 30 seconds, maybe. It's about showing up and being intentional. And so pay attention to those small sacrifices. Pay attention to those small inconveniences. God gives us these beautiful pockets of time to do things like this, but we have to be willing to see them.
