Seeing the cross before it comes doesn't mean being passive. It means preparing your heart. It means letting sorrow shape your love, letting grief sharpen your faith, and letting prayer steal you for the trials ahead. The rosary trains this muscle. It teaches you to see, to meditate, to surrender before the storm hits. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Every day life gives us small glimpses of suffering, injustice, and loss. Ignoring them only leaves us unprepared for the weight of real trials. Mary didn't flinch. She didn't run. She leaned into God's plan, even when it was terrifying. Her eyes were fixed on him, not on what she feared. We're recording this late because I got back from my retreat and I was very tired and I was not about to record a Zoom at midnight. And we're wearing the exact same pajamas. Can't even make it up. We're marrying wearing the exact same pajamas. And I giggled. I didn't even believe it. But here we are. So you're back, Kendra. Yay.

I am. I am. And I literally had to stop when we both popped up and I kept looking at your stripes, and I'm like, oh my goodness. And then I just kind of sat there for a minute. I'm like, is she gonna notice? And then it says goodnight on it. So I picked it up a little and I'm like, and she's like, oh my gosh, we have the same ones on.

Oh, all right. So today, as you were reading this, this sounds really, really simple-minded of me, but I don't know what it was about you reading it. And knowing that like Mary knew what was coming and she still showed up and did it all. And thinking about my babies, I don't know if I could do that.

Like it kind of like throat punches me. I don't that it's just for the first time in my life, not actually, but I don't really have the words. Like when you think about everyday life gives us small glimpses of suffering, injustice, and loss. And if we ignore them or if we try to glaze over them, our faith is not given the opportunity to grow. But Mary gave birth to this beautiful baby boy and knew what his lot in life would be, and she still leaned into it. Like There's all sorts of Christian songs that are like give me faith like Daniel in the Lion's Den and you know Hope and everything. And those are great songs. But also give me a faith like Mary's.

Talk about the ultimate like mom to follow. Yeah. I mean, uh it's funny because I've never really thought of it this way. To look at pain, betrayal, and uncertainty.

That is weird. Because right as you started reading that, I was reading that exact same line.

Instead of hiding, we kneel, meditate, and pray. I think what I pull out of this so much is that any uncertainty. There's so much uncertainty in this life. But if we can start viewing it as here is my opportunity to pray, here's my opportunity to draw closer to God, here is the time that I've been created for to talk to God and to pray my rosary and to do everything in my power to be like Mary. I will never be, but like not see the hardships and the uncertainties as despair, but to see them as an opportunity to grow in faith, an opportunity for spiritual courage. This one's really very profound. Maybe it's not so much what the outcome is, but instead our hearts and minds and souls on the journey.
