The Laundry Room Rosary
You’re Not Fasting—You’re Still Feeding It
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Lent isn’t about giving up something small—it’s about letting God expose and kill what’s still alive in you that shouldn’t be. If you don’t replace what you remove with Him, your flesh will fill the space and nothing truly changes. Real transformation requires full surrender, because resurrection only comes after something in you dies.
We’re so pumped you’re here again, friend! God is so good, and we’re proud of you for choosing to grow closer to our Blessed Mother and her Son, Jesus Christ.

Hi friend, I'm Kayla. And I'm Kendra.
SPEAKER_01And this is the Laundry Room Rosary.
SPEAKER_03Because holiness doesn't wait for calm mornings or clean counters. It's found right here in the middle of this thing called life.
SPEAKER_01In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, amen. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
SPEAKER_03I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
SPEAKER_01Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
SPEAKER_03Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
SPEAKER_01Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
SPEAKER_03Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

SPEAKER_01Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_03As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy.
SPEAKER_01Let's get something straight right out of the gate. Lent was never meant to be cute. It was never meant to be comfortable. And it was definitely never meant to be a surface level sacrifice. Some of you gave up soda, some gave up social media, some of you picked something small just to say you participated. But nothing in your life actually changed. Because Lent isn't about removing one small habit. Take up your cross, follow me. That's death language. So if you made it this far into Lent, and nothing in you is dying, your pride, your control, your comfort, your sin, then you're you're not fasting, you're just adjusting. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
SPEAKER_03Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

SPEAKER_02Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy.
SPEAKER_01Here's where most people get it wrong. You took something out of your life, but you didn't put God in its place. So now there's just space. And we don't do well with empty space. So what happens? You start reaching. Maybe not for the exact thing you gave up, but for something else. More scrolling in a different way, more distractions, more noise. Because if you don't intentionally fill that space with God, your flesh will fill it for you. You don't drift towards holiness, you drift towards what's easy. So now the question isn't just what did you give up? It's what did you replace it with? Because an empty life will always get filled. The only question is with what? Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
SPEAKER_03Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

SPEAKER_02Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy.
SPEAKER_01Let's go a layer deeper. Some of you are like, No, I stuck to it. I gave it up. But at the same time, you're still feeding your flesh everywhere else. You gave up one thing, but kept feeding your attitude, your need for control, your discomforts, your distractions. You didn't starve your flesh. You just put it on a different menu. And we do this all the time. We justify it, we balance it, we convince ourselves we're doing good enough. But you can't starve sin in one area and feed it to five others and expect transformation. That's not surrender, that's management. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

SPEAKER_02Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy.
SPEAKER_01Here's the part most people don't like. Fasting doesn't just remove something, it reveals something. It shows you what you run to, what you depend on, what you think you need to function. Because the moment is gone, you feel it. That tension, that irritation, that pull to go back, that exposure. And it's not about the thing itself, it's about what it represents in your life. Because if you can't lay down, it already has a grip on you. And Lent is the season where God lovingly but firmly says, Let me show you what's been holding you, so you can finally let me break it.
Amen.

SPEAKER_01At the end of the day, this was never about discipline. You don't earn anything through Lent. You don't prove anything through Lent. This is about surrender, full surrender. Because we're walking towards Easter, and resurrection doesn't happen without death first. Something has to die, not just a habit, not just a routine. Something in you, the version of you that keeps clinging, the version of you that keeps choosing comfort, the version of you that keeps going back. So don't waste this season. Don't just say you gave up something and walk away unchanged. Let God actually do the work. Let him cut deep. Let him strip away what doesn't belong. Because you're not just called to give something up, you're called to become something new. So here's the question you need to sit with. What actually needs to die in you before Easter gets here? Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

SPEAKER_01St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him. We humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Amen.
SPEAKER_00What's that look for?
SPEAKER_03This one was really aggressive and in your face, and I wrote it. I know that this is kind of like, okay, we're starting Holy Week soon. Sunday is Palm Sunday. And I know that I need this reminder as well. Like, I didn't just give something up. I'm called to become something new. And yet I feel sometimes like when I try to do better and be better, it's when I start to fight temptation even more. And so the reminder of what am I clinging to? What am I choosing comfort? That was a very big exhale for a podcast. I shared yesterday that motherhood has been hard, and I've been clinging to this idea that oh my gosh, motherhood needs to just be a dream all the time and not hard. And in all reality, that's an illusion of control. And realizing that how quickly I react to things is how my child reacts to things. And then I expect her to not react the same way. It's just like, you know, you know, my example of you can taste the color purple. Like this beautifully tied into what we talked about yesterday. And that's what needs to die. I have to stop thinking my motherhood journey, my adult life is going to look a certain way. That's what needs to die. Fireworks everywhere. Like, boom. Sometimes our Zoom randomly sends fireworks. What about you? What spoke to you today?
SPEAKER_01I'm not quite sure. I like when you like bob your head like that. Like sorry. This is why we don't upload the this is why we don't upload the videos. Well, I can't really like say exactly what I want or need to die. But I do know this lint I have done more for myself just reading my I don't remember what the name of the book is. And then yes. And then I have a um 365-day biblical uh calendar by my bed and I rip one off every day. And I read it in the morning before I go to work, and I'm like, this is fantastic. And some of them if I read them and I'm like, hmm, I wonder if there's like more to this, I'm like, I will hold on to it and I will put it in my planner to go and look deeper into things.
SPEAKER_03I'm super proud of you for how you've shown up this lit. I really truly am. I'm inspired by you because I I could have shown up better. I I still can show up better. Um, speaking of, so I have this little thing that you gave me for my new office, right? And today's uh today's reflection, actually it's yesterday's, because I these are both good. So I want to read today's reflection. Sometimes obedience feels exhausting. Sometimes doing the thing he calls us to do doesn't mean it all works out how we thought.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_03Sometimes we realize in the failing how much we longed for a tiny taste of our own glory, and it dies bitter on our tongues like the poison it is. Sometimes we thirst for living water to wash it from our throats and make us clean again. I know I may be tossed ragged, but at this moment I realize I've never been unanchored. I'm tethered to the grace that lets me breathe under the weight of the tempest. I stretch my limbs like deep roots and inhale freedom. It is a moment, and it is enough. It is a blossom of hope unfurling towards the light. And here is the the accommodating scripture. Psalm 55, verses 6 through 8. I said, If only I had wings like a dove, I would fly away and find rest. How far away would I flee? I would stay in the wilderness, I would hurry to my shelter from the raging wind and the storm. So that's just it's it's blowing my mind right now. The fact of what you're not fasting from, you are still feeding. And how many times do we feel so exhausted by showing up in obedience? Wild,
