This episode reflects on the quiet weight of Holy Saturday—the space between loss and hope—inviting listeners to sit with grief, silence, and uncertainty. It explores how, even in the darkness, trust grows as God prepares something greater beneath the surface.

We’re so pumped you’re here again, friend! God is so good, and we’re proud of you for choosing to grow closer to our Blessed Mother and her Son, Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_02

Hi friend, I'm Kayla.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm Kendra. And this is the Laundry Room Rosary.

SPEAKER_02

Because holiness doesn't wait for calm mornings or clean counters. It's found right here in the middle of this thing called life.

SPEAKER_00

In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, amen. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

SPEAKER_02

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

SPEAKER_02

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

SPEAKER_02

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

SPEAKER_02

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_02

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. The world has gone quiet. The cheers of Palm Sunday, the cries of Good Friday, they are gone. Nothing moves but the wind. The earth feels empty. Mary sits in silence, the tomb is sealed, the body of her son rests in darkness. And the waiting begins. Every heart holds its breath. Every soul trembles. The silence is heavy, almost unbearable.

Amen.

SPEAKER_02

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. This is the pause no one wants. The space where grief sinks in deep, where fear creeps, where hope feels like a fragile flicker. You see the weight of all that was done, the betrayal, the pain, the death, and yet the glory is still unseen. Holy Saturday is a darkness that presses down on every prayer, every tear, every trembling heart.

SPEAKER_00

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

SPEAKER_02

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. The rosary pulls us into this silence. Each hail Mary, each decade is a step into the tomb. Sit with Mary. Feel her fear, her exhaustion, her absolute heartbreak. Feel her trust when the world seems dead. Let the quiet stretch you, let it confront you. Let it teach you that God's timing is perfect, even when you cannot see it.

Silence isn't empty. Silence is full, full of waiting, full of preparation, full of promise. The same God who hung bleeding on the cross rests here, unseen, working, preparing, holding the world together. And we we learn to wait, to trust, to surrender. Holy Saturday asks, can you endure the pause? Can you hold hope when nothing looks alive?

SPEAKER_00

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. So today sit in silence. Sit in grief, sit in anticipation. Let the weight of what has been done settle in your bones. Let your heart ache for the world, ache for love, ache for the cross. The silence holds everything. And if you can wait here, fully present, fully aware, fully broken, then the resurrection will not just be a story. It will be a fire in your soul.

SPEAKER_00

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him. We humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Amen.

SPEAKER_02

You know what I have been very intentionally working on, and I do feel like I'm doing better at sitting in silence. True, genuine silence. Not like, hey, the TV's off, I'm gonna scroll my phone, or hey, I've got the TV on for background noise. No, like true, genuine silence. And it's weird because sometimes I don't know where my thoughts go. But we live in a world that is so loud and so busy and so preoccupied with the little box called a cell phone that silence feels so incredibly foreign.

SPEAKER_01

It does. You think you can endure the pause just for Saturday?

SPEAKER_02

You mean yeah, Saturday or you know, I think we could have a little bit of holy Saturday in every single one of our days. You think so too?

SPEAKER_00

I definitely yes, I read my book before I go to bed. And it's normally on my Kindle. But I used to come straight back to bed, get ready for bed, and I'd turn our TV on. And I'd lay here and watch, you know, something that didn't need to be watched or something stupid or something to fill a void. Yeah. And I haven't done that in a long time. Because I come back, I say a few prayers, and then I read my book. Until Rex comes and shuts it and puts it on the side of our bed because I always fall asleep reading it.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't need the TV on. I think a good challenge for you and me and everyone listening is how can we challenge ourselves to lean into the pause?

SPEAKER_02

How can we challenge ourselves to lean into the silence? How can we show up more intentionally in silence? Because gosh, I feel like moments when I've really truly tried to do better about silence, that's when I'm like, I feel like I can feel God right there.
