Because a lot of us say we believe he's alive. But if we're really honest, we're still living like he's predictable, contained, and not actively moving in our lives. And that disconnect matters. In Gospel of Luke 24, 5, the angels say, Why do you seek the living among the dead? That question wasn't just correction. It was an invitation to wake up. The women came to the tomb with a plan. They had spices, they had expectations, they thought they knew what they would find: a body, a sealed ending, something familiar in their grief. But Jesus wasn't there. We do this in quieter, more several ways. We go back to the same routine of prayers that don't cost us anything. The same comfortable version of faith that doesn't stretch us. The same expectations of God that keep him manageable. And then we wonder why it feels dry, why it feels distant, why it feels like nothing is changing. But it's not because Jesus isn't present. It's because we're still looking for him in places he's already left. We're standing at empty tombs, waiting for something that isn't there anymore. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

A filled tomb is easy to manage. A filled tomb doesn't ask anything of you. A filled tomb fits into your schedule and your comfort zone. But an empty tomb moves. He asks you to let go of control. He invites you into a life that actually looks different. And that means you don't get to stay the same either. So here's what I want you to carry with you today. He's not in your old routines, he's alive and moving. So ask yourself honestly, where have I kept Jesus small? Where am I going through the motions instead of actually following him? Where am I looking for something comfortable instead of something real? And then be willing to move. Because if he's alive, he's not asking you to stay where you've been.

Where it says, where have I kept Jesus small? Yes. Not that I really kept him. It kind of depended upon like where I used to work. So now I'm in a week between my two jobs. And I am so excited. We were all Catholic, but one where I used to work. And there was probably oh man, there were 16 of us. And yes, God was talked about occasionally, but I really feel like where I'm going, He doesn't have to stay small. And he will be there. And I'm so excited.

Oh, that's so cool. You know what I thought about when you read that actually, where have I kept Jesus small? I thought about all of the hundreds of many Jesuses that I put all Around like the little plastic mini Jesuses that I left everywhere. But at the same time, they're such a big conversation starter. They really truly are. I actually love the question of where am I going through the motions instead of actually following him? Because I'm in three different Bible studies. And I really do truly want to show up and be more intentional in all of them. But I have not allocated the time that I truly need to. Like, do I get the questions done? Do I get the reading done? Yes. But do I give myself time to sit with it like what we talked about yesterday and not rush through it? I don't. And so knowing that this is my last week of traveling for work and then I'll be home for an extended period of time, which will be wonderful. I'm very excited to get back to intentionally spending time in scripture and listening to my awesome Gregorian chants playlist while I read my scripture and truly have that intentional time instead of just feeling like I'm going through the motions.
