SPEAKER_01

Hi, friend, I'm Kayla. And I'm Kendra.

SPEAKER_00

And this is the Laundry Room Rosary.

SPEAKER_01

Because holiness doesn't wait for calm mornings or clean counters. It's found right here in the middle of this thing called life.

SPEAKER_00

In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, amen. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

SPEAKER_01

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

SPEAKER_01

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

SPEAKER_01

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_01

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. As we wrap up this week, I want to bring it back to something really simple but really important. Jesus didn't come and die and rise again, so we could just remember him fondly. He didn't ask for admiration. He didn't ask for occasional convenient reflection. He asked for something much deeper. He asked for us to follow him.

SPEAKER_00

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

SPEAKER_01

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

SPEAKER_01

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. In the Gospel of John, chapter 21, verse 19, after the resurrection, Jesus looks at Peter and says, Follow me, not remember what we had, not think about everything I taught you. He said, Follow me. Even after everything, after failure, after doubt, after Peter had denied him three times, Jesus still called Peter forward into a life of movement and obedience.

SPEAKER_01

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. And this is where we have to be careful. It's easy to let our faith become something we look back on instead of something we actively live. We reflect on Easter. We feel something in the moment. We acknowledge what Jesus did. But then we stay in the same place. We don't actually move. We don't actually follow. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. But the resurrection was never meant to leave you sitting still. It calls you forward. It calls you into obedience, into trust, into daily decisions that reflect the life that Jesus lived and the fact that he is alive. Following him means you let him lead your life, not just be a part of it. It means your choices, your priorities, your direction start to shift. It's not about the moment you experienced, it's about a life you are living.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him. We humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, amen.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like this is such a stellar end to a week of truly reflecting after we celebrated the resurrection on Easter Sunday. I am one that loves to ask hard questions. I love to have hard conversations. I love to have vulnerable, raw, unscripted, very real conversations with people. And often I ask people, are they doing something? Are they pursuing something because they're comfortable or because that's where they feel God calling them? And a lot of the time that's a very uncomfortable question because they realize that maybe they're not stepping out in obedience. And instead, they're just staying where it's comfortable. Obedience and growth in our faith is rarely comfortable. I can think of some very vivid times in my life where I've been called into a place of obedience and I didn't want to do it. But it became evidently clear to me as I showed up in prayer and I asked God to guide me, I was gonna have to do the uncomfortable thing. An example of that would be taking over a volleyball program last fall. I told everyone that I wouldn't be back in a high school gym anytime soon. And I truly do believe that God actually laughed at that plan because not only did I get back into the gym, but the relationships and the connections I've made within our district and with my volleyball athletes has been nothing short of a gift from God. So I want you to think about this today, friends. Where are you showing up and thinking of Jesus as, okay, I'm remembering what he did, but I'm not actually following him? Where are you staying comfortable? Instead of moving forward. What's something you know he's been asking you to do and you're not doing it yet because you're not being obedient.
