Nobody's Side
This podcast is about the kind of nation we want to be, what we value, and what we hope for. We're talking to everyday Americans (at least one Republican and one Democrat in each state) not to argue, but to listen. It’s about asking deep questions: do Americans still want to live in a country with people who don’t always agree? Do we still care about decency, compromise, and common ground? This show is about listening deeply, asking hard questions, and searching—together—for reasons to believe in one another again.

How do people seeking elected office understand the divisions in the United States? In this episode, I speak with Christopher Burnett, a Republican candidate for Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, about how he views political division, what he sees as causes of division, and where he believes the country could be headed.
Burnett is a retired Marine Corps JAG officer who has served in advisory roles to senior government leaders on matters including operational law, policy, international diplomacy, and strategy. His career has included assignments in both combat zones and humanitarian missions.
