Hi, Coach Brandy here. Somewhere inside you there is a dream that refuses to let go. A quiet whisper from God reminding you that your life has purpose. This is You Have a Dream Living with Purpose podcast. Welcome back, peeps. This is You Have a Dream Living with Purpose, and I'm your host, Life Coach Brandy. And today we're talking about one of the most important lessons in faith and purpose. You have to water what you want to grow. So in this episode, we are going to talk about nurturing your faith, your dreams, and your daily habits. Faith doesn't stop at planting, it continues through nurturing and whatever you feel you need to flourish, your fears or your faith, your worry or your worship. Nurturing what we need to grow in our relationships, especially with God, involves cultivating a personal relation with God through consistent daily habits like prayer, Bible study, gratitude. And so our key practices for spiritual growth also include engaging in community fellowship, serving others, and fostering intentionality, daily life to align our actions with faith and our purpose. It's a lifelong, authentic journey that often involves overcoming challenges. And whose life doesn't have challenges? Before we get in deep, why don't you click that follow? Um, it's usually up in the corner, and just click follow so you don't miss any of my podcasts. And I would really love to hear from you. My email is you have a dream at living with purpose. No. You have a dream.com. So sometimes we forget the purpose that purpose requires participation. As I'm stuttering. Sometimes we forget that purpose requires participation. God can give you the vision, but you have to water it daily. It's not just gonna be given to you. It's going to have to take you have to take steps to make it happen too. So watering doesn't always look glamorous. Sometimes it's showing up when you don't feel like it. So growth is quiet work. It's prayer in private. It's forgiveness on repeat. It's faithfulness in the small things. Luke 16, 10 reminds us, whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much. The verse is such a reminder that consistency is the bridge between potential and promise. God multiplies what we maintain. You can't plant a seed and ignore it, right? It needs care, it needs attention, and it needs nourishment. True. And that's that's so true in relationships, in our dreams, and even in our faith. If you want peace, you have to water it in prayer. If you want joy, you have to water in gratitude. If you want purpose, you have to water it with obedience. Because when we water, or what we water, it grows. But when we neglect it, it fades. Your growth is proof of your investment. So I'm gonna talk about three practical ways to water what you want to grow. Watering what you need to grow, you're gonna do step one. It's be consistent, not purpose, not perfect. Because remember, we are perfectly imperfect. So we want to be consistent, and we don't have to be perfect. So focusing on small, daily, and sustainable actions, growth in faith, and our purpose is a gradual process. So it like it doesn't happen at the snap of a finger. So it's like a tree that takes time to bear the fruit, you know, rather than an overnight transformation, making daily habits is more impactful. Small, sustainable actions that can be repeated. These steps, you know, this can be a daily Bible verse, um, or spending a minute in prayer. God is not looking for perfection, but a willingness and a heart that keeps coming back, even after slipping, consistency. That means showing up to spend time with God, even when you don't feel motivated or feel a connection. Remember, we are developing our root system. Often in the quiet, dark times of our life, our root system is being developed. So consistency beats intensity every time. You don't have to do everything today, just something every day. Even ten minutes of prayer, gratitude journaling, or reflection can change your life. So the second step is pour in what you want poured out. Watering your faith involves receiving God's spirit, allowing him to fill your cup, to overflow your peace, love, and spiritual gifts. To see what you want poured out, blessings, joy, or even wisdom. You must pour in time with scripture and prayer to God. This creates the overflow, impacting others through compassionate action and services. Receive the Holy Spirit. God promises to refresh dry hearts by pouring out his spirit like rain. Pour in by actively spending time in the scripture, prayer, and worship. These things allow God to fill your life with his presence. And I I've told you guys, I do that in the morning, but I also worship all day long. I listen to Christian music and I have never been happier. I have never been more joyful because it's the most upbeat music and happy music that don't get me wrong, I love country music and I love pop music and I love I love all kinds of music. I just don't like rap. But sometimes when we listen to the everyday pop culture, pop culture music, it can kind of get overwhelming. Sometimes it can be even depressing, and some kinds sometimes it can just make you angry, right? So if we listen to worship music and listen to you know today's Christian contemporary, it's joyful, it's happy, it's a beat, and it makes a difference in your day, to be completely honest. I I'm not I'm not exaggerating, it is it it makes me happy. I probably smile driving down the road and people think I'm a crazy woman. So as we're doing this, focus on God's will. This ensures you are filled with the living water rather than worldly pursuit pursuits like keeping up with the Joneses, guys. We don't need to compete, it's not a competition. I mean, if if we're playing football or if we're playing basketball, it's a competition, but trying to keep up with your neighbors or the people you went to school with or your friends, it's not a competition. If they are succeeding, you should down, you should be so excited for them because it's gonna be your day one day. Or if they're having struggles, you need to be there with them and just let them know that you are there for them to walk them through that season of their life. So as your cup overflows, you are able to pour out with acts of compassion, kindness, love, and joy, it's the ripple effect, and you guys know how I love the ripple effect. So if you want to okay, so as we're pouring it out, so if you want encouragement, speak encouragement. If you want peace, practice stillness. The energy you release returns to you. It's kind of like you reap what you sow. So the energy you're putting out will return right back to you. So I want to take um a dream moment. And we're gonna continue on the dream moment. First Corinthians 3 7 says, So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who makes things grow. This verse gives me peace because it means your only job is to plant and water. God takes care of the growth. We don't have to force it, we just have to be faithful. Faith doesn't mean pushing, it means partnering. You do your part, God'll do the rest. So as we continue our dream moment, finish by saying, let's let's pour into people as like I tell my students, fill their bucket, and somebody will fill yours when they're having a stressful day. Just compliments, kindness, and just compassion, just compassion for another human being. Empathy. People struggle with empathy nowadays. You you need to try to put yourself in someone else's shoes, that way you can understand what they're going through. So let's get our journal, and I want you to write down these two um questions, and then you can pray on them and see where you need to be. Okay? So the first question is what area of your life feels dry or in need of refreshing? Are you looking to pour out love, encouragement to others or see personal growth? You know, it's to fill others' buckets so they can grow. Like we're trying to grow. Um, kids these days are really mean, and I don't know why that is. So I've told you guys, I tell my grandkids, A B A, always be awesome, A B K, always be kind, and do everything in love. And try, I have them, they tell me that they're bullied, they're made fun of. And I don't I thought twins were cool. You know what I mean? So for them to feel like they're being bullied and singled out, I mean, yeah, they can they don't understand boundaries they never have. They don't understand, like they always like to be too close to people, so they don't understand personal space, and that may be aggravating to kids, but I know that there's always a kinder way to say, you're so weird, back up. You know, could you back up a little bit? You're making me uncomfortable. Um, that's much nicer than just being mean or pushing them. So I want you to try this week to fill people's buckets. And like I said, you reap what you sow. So whatever you put out into the world will come back to you. As we go through this week, I want you to work on filling our cups, but also filling others by offering kindness, encouragement, a smile, complimenting somebody. If somebody has on a cool shirt or cool shoes, I tell them, I tell them. Or if I like their hair, I'm like, ooh, I love your hair. Or if they have a lipstick that I love, I'm like, ooh, I like that color. What are you wearing? And it can always make people happy. I mean, it's this little girl this week. So I'm in state testing, so you know it's crazy, crazy, crazy, and it's a long, long, long. She had on some uh she said she got it at Bath and Body Works, uh, some lip stain, and it was a beautiful color and it looked really good on her. And she had on a care bear shirt. Cheer bearer to be a fixed fact. I was like, oh my gosh, I love your shirt. I wish they made it in my size because she's like 10 or 11, and it was so cute because it was Cheer Bear, and then it had 82, which is when the Care Bears came out, and I absolutely loved it, and then she had on this lip stain, and I was like, that is such a pretty color on your lips, it brings out your eyes and your cheeks are all rosy. That is a good color for you, and I don't think this little girl hears compliments very often because she was on cloud nine. So when I say you reap what you sow, this little girl needed me to feel her body. And I did. Me and the other teacher that were in there, she was testing by herself because she fidget just a lot, she talks a lot, and she just can't focus that well. We had the best time, and everybody, I think everybody could hear us, giggling and him hawing just to keep her on task. You know, we'd take a break every you know 10 minutes and let her get all her what she wanted to talk about out. She was making jokes, she was having a good time, she got kind of stressed because she was like, I don't know this. And so I was just choose the best answer, honey. That's all you can do. We all we want you to do is your best. And so you fill their cups, and honestly, when we pour out, we are always full because we are building up others, we fill our buckets with the Holy Spirit because it's all coming back to us. He sees what we're doing, and he gives it right back to us. So here's your challenge this week, although I've already given you a couple. What do I want to grow in my life right now? Write three ways you can water it this week. One spiritual, one emotional, and one practical. Maybe it's praying daily over your dream. Setting healthy boundaries. We've talked about that. You've got to have healthy boundaries. Or finally starting that creative project. Remember, watering is a daily act of faith. And don't forget, we would so love to hear from you. Um, you have a dream. And share what you're watering this season, your purpose, your peace, or your faith. Your story might inspire someone else's growth. Okay, but I want you to really know your sport, your support, your sport, your support helps this mission reach uh more hearts because we're all watering seeds of faith together. Um I don't know what I let's go on with the affirmation. I thought I was gonna add something, but maybe not. Alright, let's affirm this truth together. I water what I want to grow, I speak life. I act in faith and I trust God with the increase. All right. Repeat after me. I water what I want to grow. I speak life. I act in faith. And I trust God with the increase.
