Yes. As we walk through the uncanny valley of death, we shall fear no evil. For I am not evil.
SPEAKER_07I did not know they're basically blind. Interesting.
SPEAKER_03How good are hamster?
SPEAKER_00Hey man, are you done with it already? That's crazy of you. Finish the stick. You asshole. Oh apparently their ears are very, very, very good. I thought it was just a nose. Huh, okay. Good ears, good nose, bad eyes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Hamsters have very poor eyesight as they're severely near-sighted and colourblind.
SPEAKER_07Oh no.
SPEAKER_01Jesus Christ. Hamster struggle to see beyond six inches, viewing the world as blurry shapes.
SPEAKER_00That's what my my girlfriend told me.
SPEAKER_01She's some one thing you have to watch with a hamster. They also don't have death perception, so they will just walk off of things.
SPEAKER_07That's so funny. That's horrible.
SPEAKER_01Like lambs.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, my last hamster my girlfriend had, she was holding him like in her in her house, and he just walked like a five-foot drop straight off of her hands. Was he okay? Yeah, he was a dwarf hamster. We're so light that he just kinda bounced. Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, a hamster sounds fun. I'd like to have a cat and a dog ultimately, but I feel like that's too much to take care of for me until I have a steady home situation. But I mean a place I intend to live for five to ten years.
SPEAKER_00I'm watching him fight uh uh one of these little trees now. I don't know, he's he's never done any of this before. You think he's getting aggressive? No, I think he's just stupid. Probably Yeah, I'm watching Struggle to Drink Water. Do they need to use the little spouts, the nipple spout? No, he has a bowl. Oh nice, okay.
SPEAKER_02Don't get a bowl, because if your hamster falls in, that's bad for like fur, but he's never fallen in. He's a fucking idiot.
SPEAKER_07That's so funny. They could fall into the bowl.
SPEAKER_00That's so scary.
SPEAKER_01Like I imagine like he's poured it over himself a few times, but he doesn't really seem too fussed about it.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Noted.
SPEAKER_01We've talked about this before, remember I said he tries to lean on it sometimes to drink and then it just taps.
SPEAKER_07You did, yeah, yeah, you mentioned that.
SPEAKER_01I found his hidey hole. It's got a hidey hole. I'm watching him get back into it.
SPEAKER_00Oh. I know he just went back to bed and he's cooking it. Okay, I'm just like I need to get this trailer. Fucking guy. Yeah, there you go, Wally. Alright, now he's chewing on the rest of the thing. He was trying to get something more high value from me. I do not budge.
SPEAKER_02See why don't you Why don't you just make it like a daily thing? Like Feel gets his daily little what two love heart treats and that's him.
SPEAKER_07Uh, cause it's complicated with uh My mom as my mom puts it, we have joint custody of the dog.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but a dog can recognize that one person gives him one thing and another person doesn't.
SPEAKER_00He's no.
SPEAKER_07Not this dog. He he shifts every time I get him back. He like Yes, to a degree, but I can't establish routines or habits like that in the same way. Especially around food. He's very food focused. That's fine. I'm working on it. It's not something I I've just relinquished, but I do have to retrain him a little bit every time I get him back.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I just give him his two a day, and then sometimes, if like I didn't give a like if he was asleep whilst I was home one day, I'll give him his other two. Like I'll give him two in the morning and then late at night. But then I wonder, does he think that that means it's been two days? Oh man.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you're gaslighting him. Speaking of my mom, she told me she she's been telling me she listens. She said you have a potty mouth. For some reason, just she singled you out.
SPEAKER_00Did you say I'm Scottish? You don't think that?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, for one, that you're Scottish, and for two, I don't feel like you're saying much worse stuff than I am.
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe tell her a skip that God told me two episodes when I'm talking about rib gashes.
SPEAKER_07Okay, yeah, yeah. We'll tell her. Who knows if she heard us talking about chicken nuggets up asses. I'm not asking, I'm not telling her what to listen to. She's just going off. She can do what she wants.
SPEAKER_01See, I think about it once a day that you're like, oh, your mom says she listens, because I'm like, I could make like a horrific your mom joke and keep it in.
SPEAKER_00And I'm fine with that.
SPEAKER_07Leave it in, man. Whatever.
SPEAKER_01And it feels bad because it feels weird if I know she's listening to it.
SPEAKER_06It does feel weird, but it's also just it's our podcast.
SPEAKER_01I could just save your mom and go, oh, by the way, hi Chrissy's mom.
SPEAKER_07Well, don't do that. I think once you've done that, then you need to cut it.
SPEAKER_00I think that's crossing a line. Breaking the fourth wall.
SPEAKER_03How susceptible is she to gaslighting? Could we like Psyoper on this?
SPEAKER_00Shh, she's really good at it.
SPEAKER_01What does she have in her house that we could fuck with?
SPEAKER_00Does she have an Alexa?
SPEAKER_07No Alexa. There's uh just a lot of little devices, stuff like uh curtains, like automatic curtains.
SPEAKER_01You have to figure out what she listens on, and then if it's like say it's like her earphones. Yeah, it's on her iPhone, but is she using like earphones or that because we could figure out what the earphones brand is and then what it says when it's what what noise do airpods make when there were low batteries?
SPEAKER_07I don't know that. I have Android phone.
SPEAKER_00I have Android phone.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I'm trying to think. I'm trying to think, how would you do that? You would have to go how how could we make that bit work if we could have that noise play?
SPEAKER_04Hmm.
SPEAKER_01There's gotta be something to fuck with someone in there.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, we play the the low battery noise for AirPods, and then right when that happens, a bunch of chicken guts shoot up out of her sink.
SPEAKER_01I think at that point she would just be more preoccupied with the chicken guts.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You ever had chicken guts stuck in a sink?
SPEAKER_03No. Well, it smells bad. It smells so bad, you have no idea. Yikes, I bet.
SPEAKER_06Fly infestation after that?
SPEAKER_03No, I was in college. Um I had nothing to do with that if I was.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. Alright.
SPEAKER_01Back eating. Well, go to bed. He's not even eating, he's just like he's rubbing his nose really deep into his football and sniffing about, I think.
SPEAKER_00Nozy guy.
SPEAKER_01I wonder it always fucks me up when I give him like hamster food. He stopped him off. Um fucks me up when I give him hamster food because it's like it's all just little coloured bits, and I'm wondering, like, A, why it's a little coloured bits, because he doesn't know what the colours are.
SPEAKER_00That's true.
SPEAKER_01Does he have a favourite bit?
SPEAKER_07Well, d is there a bit he eats first? Because I know what my dog likes most out of his food. I'll see what he picks out.
SPEAKER_01He'll eat a f uh see if it's seeds, he'll eat a seed first, but past that the colours I can't tell. Stanley before him, he loved a green piece. See if it was a little green circle.
SPEAKER_07Oh, Stanley could tell the difference.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but Stan Stanley was a weird hamster.
SPEAKER_03Uh so he knew that if he banged on a certain cage part of the the middle of the night, he could wake me up. So I basically just didn't sleep for two years.
SPEAKER_07That's crazy.
SPEAKER_01And like, see if you caught him, he would he would hold on to the bar because he'd know I'd try and like drag him away from. What the fuck?
SPEAKER_02Ah, he's a wee shit. What trailer? Um looking a few. That's weird.
SPEAKER_07So we're uh we're watching the trailer for Evil Dead Burn today, the most recent one. I watched the teaser for the first time before this, which is pretty cool. The one take.
SPEAKER_03I have absolutely no idea what to do. I've seen the photos of the dead outs, and yeah, that looks like a dead out.
SPEAKER_00Do you want to watch the teaser if you haven't seen it?
SPEAKER_02We can watch the teaser, it means we're gonna have to 3-2-1 twice.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's alright. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Evil Dead.
SPEAKER_01I don't like the naming convention. I get like it's supposed to be like cute, but we're all called Evil Dead with a falling.
SPEAKER_02But Evil Dead Burn just doesn't make sense as a title.
SPEAKER_06It doesn't really. W what do you think it means? Is it supposed to mean something?
SPEAKER_01I presume at the end they're probably gonna burn the house down that they're in and it's gonna be like, oh the title. It was the title, the Evil Dead Burn.
SPEAKER_00I guess, yeah, because it doesn't. Evil Dead Rise, it's in a high rise.
SPEAKER_01Which is fun, that's cute, I like that.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's kind of clever. Yeah, I don't know what burn. It's just in a cabin again, which is kind of what's what I'm concerned about is that Evil Dead Rise was in a high rise, which was cool. But and it was neat how they did this in the movie, but they just treated the apartment like it was a cabin. The other people didn't really have much to do with the movie, they just kind of were ens incidentally in the area. All got killed off pretty quickly. Everyone outside of the main cast, I mean. So they made a plot set in a building that was emulating what the plot would do set in a cabin. Now they're just setting it in a cabin again. They need to do something interesting.
SPEAKER_03Okay, but saying something. Chris, we did get that peephole scene, and that was like the highlight of horror that year.
SPEAKER_07Oh, that's what I'm thinking of. That fucking rules. But it it's a great scene, but it also doesn't have any impact on the plot. It doesn't. You know, that scene existing is why all of the characters, the fact that they're in a building doesn't really impact the story because it kills everything off.
SPEAKER_01We still have no like idea of what Evil Dead Wrath's gonna be, don't we not?
SPEAKER_07Not really. Besides that, I think I heard that Sam Raimi is a little more involved in Wrath than Burn.
SPEAKER_01Like, we've got the we've got the font for it. And I mean it looks retro-ish. But like, I don't know what that would imply. Unless it's gonna be more of like a direct sequel to the originals.
SPEAKER_07That's what I was gonna ask. Is do you think they're gonna start tying it in more?
SPEAKER_01Well, what do you really need to tie it in other than there's more than one book?
SPEAKER_07And that's that's it tied in. They've already said that too. They've said there's three books in Was it in 2013? In one of the movies, they mentioned that there's three different books.
SPEAKER_01See, I have no idea. I was a child when I saw the old Evil Dead movies.
SPEAKER_03And then I've never.
SPEAKER_07It might have been Army of Darkness that they mentioned that, and then the three books are in the first trilogy, 2013 and in Rise.
SPEAKER_00Hmm.
SPEAKER_07Because one of them is the Necronomicon, one of them is the Tibetan Book of the Dead, and then I don't remember what the third one is.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna go, I have that, but now I'm looking and I don't know where my Tibetan Book of the Dead has gone. It's gone. The fact I've not touched it, why did it be a big thing?
SPEAKER_07That's a bad sign. You're gonna start having dead past pets rising up and trying to murder you. Someone's stolen your Book of the Dead.
SPEAKER_01Do you know what would be fun? CB like see how Remory ties in like the exclusive games to their universe, but not fully, but it's in the same universe.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01They could take the Tibetan Book of the Dead and they could link it to Enter the Void and to Twin Peaks.
SPEAKER_07Really interesting. I forgot that was in Twin Peaks. I haven't seen Enter the Void.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Enter the Void is is just hey, here's the Tibetan Book of the Dead, but visualized.
SPEAKER_07Damn, okay. Is that a movie you recommend watching while tripping or something like that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I would say it's kind of slow if you're not. It heavily relies on just hear some fucked visuals. Cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm down for that.
SPEAKER_01Not fucked as in like, oh, Spooky just fucked as in like this is strange to look at. Fair.
SPEAKER_07Did you like how they put Bruce Campbell in uh Evil Dead Rise?
SPEAKER_01Evil Dead Rise is he's like the priest, correct?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, or he's at least someone in the council testifying that the book is dangerous and no one's listening to him.
SPEAKER_00But he's like stuck in, you know, 1100 AD or whatever.
SPEAKER_01But how does that work? Because we get Ash versus Evil Dead.
SPEAKER_07That's what I mean. That's what's weird about it. So if they're gonna bring him back in. Uh I have a friend who is theorizing that Sam Raimi is trying to set up directing a new Evil Dead movie and bringing Bruce Campbell back in it after Rap. I don't know if that will I think that's a if that's the plan, that's still dependent on time. With what everything broke going on with Bruce Campbell.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think even if that was the original plan, what's what's happening now is probably changed.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, unfortunately. It's really sad.
SPEAKER_01I was going to come back one day and now I don't have time, so fuck it, we're doing it right now. It's one or the other.
SPEAKER_07That's I see that happening more, honestly. You know, maybe they if that happens, it'll be like a post-credit scene in Burn or something like that. Or he'll show up at the very end and I could see Bruce Campbell demanding he get killed by the Deadites, something like that.
SPEAKER_01Oh well, if it's retro or going back to the old one, how would you tie that in? The only way I could think is if this book accidentally sends them back in time as well.
SPEAKER_07And then it's maybe the if Wrath is set in a different time period and this ends like Evil Bed 2. That's how I can see that happening.
SPEAKER_01But do you think Sam Raimi would want to go like metal medieval vibes again, or do you think he would go more medieval vibes? Because I'm not supposed to be real virus.
SPEAKER_00What do you think? What does Wrath give you? Anger?
SPEAKER_01What do you what do you mean? Oh well, oh you could go um like religious, like the Wrath of God.
SPEAKER_07Wrath of God, I'm for some reason I'm going to Wrath of the Titans. I'm thinking like Ancient Greece. That would be so expensive. I don't think they could do that. Imagine a gr like an Ancient Greece Evil Dead movie, though. That would be fucking rad.
SPEAKER_01It would be rad, but if we're going, say we go Wrath of God. Say, oh, Deadites are pretty much just demons, yeah. So who's like the devil? Yeah. We could get like a uh Bruce Campbell Ash versus the Devil was the last one.
SPEAKER_07That would rule. Yeah, get End of Days with Bruce Campbell.
SPEAKER_01It just ends in a Tenacious D rock off.
SPEAKER_07Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_01Jack Black and Kyle Gas are just fair. Which is sure. I was gonna make a reference to the end of this movie, you've not seen fucking Tenacious D.
SPEAKER_07No, I gotta watch it. You have is like there's horror stuff in that. We could justify watching that for the podcast.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we could we could do it for like an April Fool's one time and that's it. Fuck, no, April just passed.
SPEAKER_01Is there like a uh uh a fool no fool's February would be would also be just passed. Um that's so far away, yeah. Damn it.
SPEAKER_00Um Moron May. Uh the We'd have to do that right now.
SPEAKER_01We would have to do that right now. Um Deceptive December. Deceptive December.
SPEAKER_07Oh. I actually I can pitch this idea right now on air. I had an idea for next December, which is just movies with the name Silent Night.
SPEAKER_01Just movies with the name I would fuck with that.
SPEAKER_07Just movies named Silent Night. There's enough. I'm pretty sure there's enough.
SPEAKER_01Wait, okay, what we do is we look we watch Silent Night, and then if there's a movie called Holy Night, we also watch that.
SPEAKER_07Oh god. And then we have to find a movie called The Stars Are Brightly Shining.
SPEAKER_01You know, I guarantee we could find that, but it would be like a a coming of age Japanese movie.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm looking up Holy Night on Letterboxed. Come on. Come on. Okay, there's a movie called Holy Night, and it's about uh and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.
SPEAKER_00Oh no.
SPEAKER_01And it looks terrible. Oh, what's Holy Night? Okay, there's there's a movie called Holy Night that has no reviews, and the poster tells me maybe maybe it's a Roman porno. I can't tell.
SPEAKER_07If you want to pivot 2027 pivot to pornos, we can do that as the last one.
SPEAKER_01Oh, the uncanny veiny returns.
SPEAKER_02Uncanny veiny. Jesus Christ. All roads lead to the uncanny veiny. Oh my god. Don't they ever?
SPEAKER_07Oh I'm I've looked up Silent Knight. I see one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen. At least fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, at least twenty-five silent nights, and I've seen at least four or five of them.
SPEAKER_02I was about to say there's one here by John Woo. You've definitely seen that.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, yeah. I've seen that one. I've seen all the ones on the top. I've seen the one that's from 2012, the one that's a low-budget horror movie, too. I'm probably gonna recommend that one because I'm curious what you think of it.
SPEAKER_01How many of these are not horror? Holy fuck.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, a lot of them are horror.
SPEAKER_07I would recommend uh the one from 2021 because the cast is really good, and then the one from 2012 because I think it's bad, but I wonder if you'd like it because it's just very violent.
SPEAKER_01Oh, wait, what one is this? The one from 2012?
SPEAKER_072012, I think it's bad. I think it's a bad movie, but I'm wondering if you would have a different opinion than me because it's just kind of exploitation y, I guess.
SPEAKER_01It's an exploitation movie with Malcolm McDowell as Ant Exploitation. Holy fuck, what is this? What is it? You got Jamie King in this? What a cast.
SPEAKER_00Got Donald Logue also. I was looking at that, he's Santa Jim.
SPEAKER_01The poster is horrific, Chris. I don't have to say that.
SPEAKER_07I gave it one star. But everyone in my letterbox gave it two and a half or more. One person gave it four stars.
SPEAKER_01I okay. Going through, I've got five people including you. I have a three and a half, a non-rated, a two, you're one, and then another two.
SPEAKER_07Interesting. I'm see, that's why I'm so curious. I want to recommend it to get your opinion. Because I wonder if you'd have a different opinion than me.
SPEAKER_01See, where's this like weird thing that I only like violence in movies? A movie can be dull if it's just violence.
SPEAKER_07That's not necessarily what I think. I just I wonder if what this is doing would appeal to you more. I don't know. Like maybe maybe you're right, maybe I'm stereotyping you. I just think it It's probably more fun than I was giving it credit for. That's I guess what I was going to bring up. I I want an excuse to re-watch it also.
SPEAKER_01But it's a motherfucker gets a terrifier and a basket case tattoo, and you're like, oh, he just loves violence.
SPEAKER_00Well he just cr he just creates it. Well, come on.
SPEAKER_01I mean well to be fair, say from Junji Ele, um my only horror tattoos are Belial from Basket Case, Billy from Saw, and Art the Clown.
SPEAKER_00Alright.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, I do I try five bad but violent movies.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, so don't be surprised when people recommend violent things to you.
SPEAKER_01I have Spring Trap from Five Nights at Freddy's, does that count?
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_01But that's right.
SPEAKER_07And I really enjoy uh Silent Night from 2021. Because it has what is it? Kieran Knightley, Matthew Good, Annabelle Wallace, Lily Rose Depp is good in it, Sope Dorisu, I love. He's in Gangs of London. And his house.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I'm looking at it now, I'm looking at it now.
SPEAKER_07Don't read too much on it. Just read the little blurb.
SPEAKER_01The Lil' Blurb. Okay. Neil, Simon, and their boy art are ready to welcome friends and family. What promises the perfect Christmas gathering. Perfect except for one thing. Everybody is going to die.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I I think knowing what happens in the movie going into it hurts the movie a bit. Okay, I'm probably It's not like it's so inventive that you shouldn't have it spoiled for you. It's just that the characters discover what's going on, and I think it helps to have that experience. It's mostly uh sort of a dark comedy with the characters.
SPEAKER_01Interesting. People mostly gave it good reviews. So you know, I'm open to it.
SPEAKER_07Interesting.
SPEAKER_01As a Christmas horror.
SPEAKER_07We'll see if we can find two silent nights that you like.
SPEAKER_00If we can, then we'll look for the happening and click with Haram Sandler.
SPEAKER_06You wanna watch The Happening and Click for Christmas?
SPEAKER_01No, that's this that's the similar films on Letterboxd. Oh, okay. Alright, alright. What a straight got it chapter two center and killing the happening.
SPEAKER_07I have Don't Look Up. I have Krampus Downsizing. Click, there you go. That's so weird.
SPEAKER_01This is such a stra this is the wildest similar films list I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_00What the fuck?
SPEAKER_01What are they doing?
SPEAKER_02We should probably if we've got two trailers, we should probably get into the first one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we should. Give me half a second, I'm gonna grab a tissue. Because I'm pragmatic and efficient. I got a box of tissues.
SPEAKER_01Oh but is the is the dead eye doing similar things in this to the one in evil dead rise?
SPEAKER_00Oh uh I don't know.
SPEAKER_07It you you'll see, all I've seen is this teaser, which it's just from one sequence, so I don't know much. But this looks cool. Let me make sure I'm in the right quality.
SPEAKER_01I mean I was more likening the Cenobite Mommy to the box of tissues, but pop off king.
SPEAKER_07Oh shit. Yeah, fair. Uh no, I don't I don't think we're getting mommy deade in this one the same way.
SPEAKER_00No. No.
SPEAKER_07A man can hope.
SPEAKER_01A man can hope, a man can hope.
SPEAKER_07You ready on this?
SPEAKER_01I'm looking at a woman deade. She got long tongue.
SPEAKER_07True. Yeah, deadite tongue stuff. That could be something. That could be something. Although in Evil Dead 2013, the Deade just cuts her tongue. And it's not in like a I don't know. I guess some people could find like a snake body mod hot.
SPEAKER_01But it is pretty terrifying. What do you mean a split tongue is like a fairly normal thing that people find hot?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't like it.
SPEAKER_07No, that's terrifying to me.
SPEAKER_01See, I'd love a split tongue, but I don't think I could go through the the like slicing part.
SPEAKER_07Without yeah, no, slicing is horrible. Uh I feel like I want to be a little bit polite about I'd try it. I'd try a split tongue.
SPEAKER_01You should try what does that entail, Chris?
SPEAKER_07Get head from somebody who has a split tongue and see what that's like. But visually and conceptually it terrifies me.
SPEAKER_01Why is it how does it terrify you?
SPEAKER_07It's just a it's just I it's just in a body horror way. I don't like thinking about it. I can feel it on my tongue when I have the image in my head.
SPEAKER_01But surely but it would just feel like your tongue, but you can move it individually.
SPEAKER_07No, I don't I just don't like it. Just don't question it. It makes me uncomfortable. Why do you have to you don't have to understand how it makes me uncomfortable? I just don't feel comfortable thinking about it.
SPEAKER_01Honestly, Joe, see if I met a body modder that I knew well enough that they did the individual cuts one at a time, I'd probably go for it.
SPEAKER_03But I couldn't do the Okay, a random stranger's gonna hold you down and get us uh two sets of pliers as they saw down the middle.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, Jesus fucking Christ. That sounds horrible.
SPEAKER_01Cause like the individual ones I've seen it, we just make the scalpel really hot so it polarizes and then it slices a little, go back a couple of weeks and then they slice a little.
SPEAKER_00That's not too bad. Alright. Well I feel like I'll show you a meaty tongue. You have what? I feel like I've got quite a meaty tongue.
SPEAKER_01I feel like it would be a hard incision.
SPEAKER_00Interesting. We got lore.
SPEAKER_01Well I said I feel this is this is personal opinion. Others may disagree.
SPEAKER_07You haven't had a professional opinion on that?
SPEAKER_01I've not had a pro the only thing I've had a professional opinion on is that I have big hands. I can say that for a fact.
SPEAKER_07Take note, listeners, big hands and big tongue.
SPEAKER_01Get him a whole Tinder bio.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, I'm writing. I'm taking notes.
SPEAKER_01Can you describe the perpetrator?
SPEAKER_06Big hand and big tongue.
SPEAKER_05I would love to see that police sketch.
SPEAKER_00Do you have this shit loaded up?
SPEAKER_01I've got it loaded up, I'm looking at it.
SPEAKER_00We'll go on go. Yeah, three, two, one, go. Snowy evil dead. Yeah, that's exciting.
SPEAKER_01See, I wonder if this is because I've heard it's a one-shot take. I wonder if this is just a scene from the film. Or if this is like made for the film. Before the trailer. Apologies.
SPEAKER_00I think it's gotta be a scene from the film.
SPEAKER_01See the uh do you know what I've seen the beginning of this trailer and I remember thinking these deadites don't look as strong as the deadites from Rise.
SPEAKER_00Interesting.
SPEAKER_01Because that motherfucker from Rise could drag you easily. These people are like this looks like a bar fight.
SPEAKER_07Kinda, yeah, you're right. Like an MMA fighter getting in a bar fight.
SPEAKER_01Like hypothetically, this dropped without the evil dead, and you told me this was like a zombie flick. I go, oh yeah, that makes sense. Oh man floating in the background. Cool as hell. Holy fuck. So oh well, there's quite a lot of people here, so maybe a house party. Interesting.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I like how many people are going around.
SPEAKER_01Hi, okay. No, imagine us, imagine us. Okay, it's a house party, and it's like fucking uh would you rather or a Ouija. Or they're like, they're all drunk and they're like, hey, let's play this this fucking weird shit we can do.
SPEAKER_07Oh, with the Necronomicon? That's a cool idea.
SPEAKER_01But think how many people you could have at a house party.
SPEAKER_07I love that. Yeah, I want like 20 people. If we're tearing through 'em, like in this scene. Why not?
SPEAKER_01Just the floating. The floating's so cool, but it also makes you go, why didn't these cunts float in any of the other movies?
SPEAKER_07Very good question. Yeah, it's sort of the Star Wars prequel problem.
SPEAKER_01Unless this did we confirm that this is the book from another one, or is this just maybe a new book?
SPEAKER_00I think this is supposed to be the one from 2013.
SPEAKER_01Oh quote me. So it's the the other one.
SPEAKER_07I was talking to a friend for a while earlier about this, but I don't remember what she said specifically.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_07Just that she she both has a couple notions of things that will be included from 2013 or Astros is Evil Dead, and then also a couple of suppositions.
SPEAKER_01Okay, new thought. What if the writers don't actually give a fuck? And they're like, yeah, it's just a book.
SPEAKER_04Interesting.
SPEAKER_01I could see that being more of I feel like this is more just like an anthology, but it needs a book in Dead Eyes.
SPEAKER_00Kinda, yeah. They could just add fourth and fifth book also.
SPEAKER_01You got a whole Encyclopedia Britannica. The Encyclopedia Demorica?
SPEAKER_00The the theory my friend had is that.
SPEAKER_07Do you remember in uh the end of 2013 there was a demon that started raising from hell when they completed the ritual before I think Jane is her name got her soul back. No, that's Jane Levy. I don't remember the character's name. Uh before Jane Levy got her soul back, there's a demon that rises up, and then she has to fight that demon, and that demon like burns you and it grabs you. My friend's theory is that this movie is about successfully completing the ritual from 2013, and that's why it's called Burns, because the demon that they're going to raise has fire powers, pyrokinesis of some sort.
SPEAKER_01Oh, but do you know what, Chris? I I f I lied to you. I blame you. We have seen a Dead Eight float, and it was in the beginning of Rise, the cabin scene.
SPEAKER_07Oh shit, you're right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh wait, was that the book from 2013 also?
SPEAKER_07I think that was the new one. I think that was the third one we hadn't seen before in Evil Dead Rise.
SPEAKER_01Cause that's the only one that I'm like, well, I suppose people would have found the book from 13, but that would just be in a police lockup, surely.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you'd think.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Chris.
SPEAKER_07That one's 2013. If this turns into a franchise, the book from 2013 will be in possession of a cult or something.
SPEAKER_01No, do you know what we should do? We should have it in a police station. And one of the officers is like, let's look at this fucking book and see what's in it.
SPEAKER_07Oh, that would be so cool. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's how you could tie it in.
SPEAKER_07Fuck. That's what Wrath should be. Assault on Precinct 13, but Evil Dead.
SPEAKER_01See, here's the good thing about them just kind of letting directors do what they want with it. Someone can just go up and go, hey, we should do this. And then if it's a good idea, we'll go, yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I do like that. I like this being. The only franchise I can relate it to, the way it's going right now, is it's like a backwards mission impossible.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Explain your working.
SPEAKER_07You got three movies at the very start, all directed by the same guy, and now we're getting a sequence of movies that are directed by different people, have a little bit of a different flavor to them, while trying to keep sort of a similar through line. Whereas Mission Impossible was sort of the opposite. You got uh De Palma doing the first one, John Woo in the second, JJ Abrams in the third, Rybird doing the fourth one, that's the best one. That's my favorite. And then three Christopher Macquarie Mission Impossible, eight four of them? Maybe four after that.
SPEAKER_01That's fucked up with that many Mission Impossibles.
SPEAKER_07There's so many. Yeah. I think it's good that they're they can make I love those movies. They can make new movies that are just like them. But I think just leave it alone. You're you're good on the Mission Impossibles.
SPEAKER_01See, with Mission Impossible, what happened is I heard the final one was coming out, and I went, okay, people love this franchise. I don't like Tom Cruise that much, but I'll give it a go. And I've watched the first one halfway through like three times, and every sort I can get through it. It's so boring.
SPEAKER_07Oh, see, that's your mistake, is that's what I mean is um the f before It's a little complicated once you get to the fourth movie, but before the fourth or fifth movie, they're all different. It's like an anthology series where the first one is very much a De Palma Spy movie, then you have a dip uh John Woo action movie, then you have a J.J. Abrams directed movie, which I I think looks like a television show, has some good performances. Then you have Ghost Protocol directed by b by sorry, directed by Brad Bird, who I think wrote a lot of the script, but then Christopher Macquarie came in and rewrote a lot of it also to include Tom Cruise again because it was going to either kill off or remove him from the franchise, and then they wanted him back. And then Christopher Macquarie takes over uh Rogue Nation, Fallout, and then Dead Reckoning 1 and 2. And he's the director and writer of all of those. So if you want to jump on to what people like now about Mission Impossible, I would say just watch from the fourth movie or the third movie, depending on if you like JJ Abrams at all.
SPEAKER_01Chris, you have an insane extensive knowledge of the Mission Impossible franchise.
SPEAKER_07I really like them.
SPEAKER_01No one, I don't think anyone on planet Earth, unless they base their entire identity of being I love Tom Cruise, can pull that much information about the Mission Impossible movies out of their head.
SPEAKER_07The other thing is that from the third movie onwards is when they started being focused on having a big stunt in the movie, but the one in the third movie is not super impressive, it's impressive for the time. But from the fourth movie onwards, very cool. So if you want what people love about them really right now, without the third one would give you all of the story context. The fourth one on would just give you like these are fucking fun movies. If you just watched Ghost Protocol, you'd have a great time.
SPEAKER_01What you're saying sounds very similar to the Daniel Craig James Bond films. Like all kind of anthology, and then we get Casino Royale, and then after that we go, okay, these have to be connected as a big plot.
SPEAKER_00Sort of, except what if you got somebody Two things.
SPEAKER_07What if you got somebody who knew what they were doing to wrap some cohesion through all of those instead of having a bunch of different directors and writers? And then also very openly, it's not a secret, even in the production of those movies. They plan the big stunt for Rogue Nation through all the both Dead Reckonings. They plan a big stunt and they plan action scenes and they plan things they want to film and things they think will look cool, and then they write the whole movie around it.
SPEAKER_01So the plots are pretty rapid?
SPEAKER_00Pretty much.
SPEAKER_07And they're fun, but they're very jokey. They're designed to be. It's like a 90s movie where a lot of jokes undercut things, but it's not uh it's not MCU level of we're undercutting scary things as they're happening. It's just, hey, we survived something scary and now we can joke about it.
SPEAKER_01I wouldn't say that undercuts, I would take that as quite naturalistic. People go through a fucked situation and go, wow, wasn't that fucked?
SPEAKER_07No, you you're right. Undercutting is what the MCU movies do. I misspoke.
SPEAKER_01I love an MCU Evil Dead movie.
SPEAKER_07Well, that's that's maybe the worry, isn't it? If they start linking everything together, is that they feel like they need to adhere to something when really what the Evil Dead adheres to is nothing.
SPEAKER_01You know what would happen if m like Disney got a hold of Evil Dead, the very first book, someone would open it and go, Oh my god! What? I forgot my reading glasses, one sec. You know that's a very that's the we would have that wrote down before the script starts, it would be on a whiteboard.
SPEAKER_00God, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Okay, Chris, for for the very first attempt we're now we're finally for the first time ready.
SPEAKER_01Are you at zero seconds, Chris?
SPEAKER_07Yes. Let's play this thing in three, two, one, go.
SPEAKER_01Oh, would you look at that? A red band? I know what those are.
SPEAKER_07You see a dishwasher opening?
SPEAKER_01Oh Chekhov's dish dishwasher.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, Chekhov's forks.
SPEAKER_01You know, I don't like this colour grading. That's the one thing I'll say. It's land.
SPEAKER_00It is Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like it's really bor I get they're probably gonna like Ampit's probably gonna slightly grade more and more red as the film goes on. If that's gonna suck it for like an hour straight.
SPEAKER_00That'd be cool.
SPEAKER_01I see we couldn't afford the Doc Martin license.
SPEAKER_00She's just walking like Jane Levy. Oh fuck.
SPEAKER_01Someone's had a s how do you even have that?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Oh, that's a car.
SPEAKER_07So something's gonna happen in the car on the way there.
SPEAKER_00That's cool.
SPEAKER_01That or maybe the book like raises the dead and they die in a car crash. That definitely looks like the 2013 book crash. That is for sure of the 2013 book. Oh, so it's a so it's not a party, it's just a family.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it seems like less people than Oh no, you were right, it is the car.
SPEAKER_01Holy f this goes off for a red band trailer.
SPEAKER_00What the fuck? The people on the roof is crazy.
SPEAKER_01So there's from the start two dead eyes. Jesus.
SPEAKER_07This is what I've seen s already. This is the only thing is the uh drinking wax.
SPEAKER_00Fucking hell.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you said there's not gonna be a dead-eight mommy in this do you know how many people lose their fucking minds?
SPEAKER_00Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_01That is a brutal as fuck trailer. My god.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I'm excited to see that.
SPEAKER_01Although do you know to be fair, Evil Dead Rise looked like it was going to have a brutal a brutal movie, and then it was just about as tame as the trailer, and it was quite a disappointment.
SPEAKER_07That's true. So we'll see. Do you think that guy falling on the dishwasher is before or after he's getting tossed around the house?
SPEAKER_01Well, he's in his spine, he wouldn't be able to rock.
SPEAKER_07Although if this is like the people, well so that implies that the people who are getting tossed around the house survive all of that. Is why I'm asking.
SPEAKER_01Because like if it starts with if it's just a family unit and we start with two dead eights and we've seen one of them die, how is this going to blast the whole movie? I'm scared we've maybe seen too much of the film.
SPEAKER_07I think we definitely have seen too much of the film. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It just it scares me though because with Evil Dead Rise, the two things I remember from the trailer is someone about to get their eyeball stabbed with a tattoo machine. And I was like, that's gonna be awesome. And that barely happened. And then we also got the promise of a cheese grater scene, and that was incredibly underwhelming.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's it's rough, but it's not as good as it could be. I think whatever's on the boat in this trailer is gonna be the third act of the movie.
SPEAKER_01But see the fact, see a cheese grater. That's a horrible way to get injured. That's such a bad way.
SPEAKER_04Not that little spikes, okay.
SPEAKER_01I think you would look a mess, but it's not that bad. See the big C for like the cheese slices.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, the circular.
SPEAKER_01Like, I don't know why, but my brain for my brain that's worse than a potato peeler. And I know it's the same thing, but I would rather someone use a potato peeler.
SPEAKER_07Uh they both sound horrible, but the the cheese grater one is just so you're getting so much damage done at once. The cheese grater. If you get potato peeled once, you could bandage that and really take care of that wound, and it would probably be relatively fine.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so the cheese grater is probably getting stuck on it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, like you are that is definitely giving you scars.
SPEAKER_01You're losing your skin. But then it's also got that second slice on top.
SPEAKER_07Ah. Yeah. That's it's super effective in the movie because it's a scary thing to think about.
SPEAKER_01And then they go, Oh, my leg. And that's the last we see of it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Such a I've don't I don't get the hate on Rise. I think Rise is like equally as good as 2013.
SPEAKER_07I have to watch all of them again. I think it's really good. I like 2013 more than that might be my favorite, to be honest.
SPEAKER_01See, I've I've thought I loved 2013, but the more I go back to it, the more I'm I just really don't fucking care about any of these characters.
SPEAKER_07That's fair. I have a big crush on Jane Levy, which I think pulls me through that movie a lot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but she's not exactly looking her best, is she?
SPEAKER_07No, but she's great in the movie. I think she's very funny as the Dead Eye.
SPEAKER_01I mean, aside from but I think maybe it's just like standards have changed for violence in a movie. Because I remember watching Evil Dead 2013 and going, well, that staple like scene. Was it a staple scene or was that a nail gun? I remember thinking that is horrendous.
SPEAKER_07And then on a rewatch, I was like, that's not Yeah, I think you're a little desensitized also. It's still pretty bad when I rewatch it, that nail gun stuff.
SPEAKER_01I think it's also did you there was I remember I watched there was a case once where someone tried to kill themselves with a nail gun and they shot themselves like 20 odd times in the brain and still survived. Like a nail gun is terrible. It just is very ineffective.
SPEAKER_00That doesn't mean it wouldn't really hurt.
SPEAKER_01I mean, yeah, but I feel like see once it's in is in, like you're not getting any dangly bits, you're not getting any peely bits, it's just in there.
SPEAKER_07Imagine you get a nail gun in your kneecap, and then you have to walk to run away from a dead eye. Like there are scenarios where that can still really hurt.
SPEAKER_01Is it in is it in the bone?
SPEAKER_07I don't remember offhand. I'm just I'm just saying you still have to move around. Like you're not you don't get to just lay in a hospital bed after you get shot with the nail gun.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but that's what I'm saying. If it goes in your kneecap, you're just not gonna be able to move. But if it goes in the flesh, you can move. It's gonna suck, but you can move.
SPEAKER_07It's both of the people that get nail gunned get a lot of nails in them. So I don't remember where. I think Lou Taylor Pucci, the guy with the long hair, gets like nailed in the lungs or something, and then Shiloh something. The the brother.
SPEAKER_00He he's the one who just gets a lot of flesh wounds.
SPEAKER_01See, I'm just built different. I think I could take it.
SPEAKER_07You could take two or three, and then you'd be really fucking off your rocker about it.
SPEAKER_01No, I I just told you some dude took 20 to the brain, he was okay. He said he didn't feel any pain. No, I think it was someone tried to kill him, actually. It wasn't associated. I think someone tried to kill someone with a nail gun.
SPEAKER_07So you know you'll be fine because of this thing you half remember.
SPEAKER_01No, but I remember going, oh, a nail gun won't do too much damage.
SPEAKER_00You know, there's also no pain receptors in the brain, right? Yeah. Right, so there's pain receptors.
SPEAKER_07There's so much more pain for whatever's gonna get embedded in your body. Nah, I could take it. Alright, alright. He can take it everybody.
SPEAKER_01You have to change your mindset.
SPEAKER_07Right, reframe my thinking.
SPEAKER_01If someone got me with a double side of a cheese grater, I'm out. Just just finish me off. But a nail gun I could take.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Well, that's the thing. If they get you with the double side of a cheese grater, I'll give you 20 to the head with a nail gun, and then you'll still be fine.
SPEAKER_01But I see the thing is, see if it was in the head. I wonder if it's gonna touch any of the like the good feeling parts of the brain.
SPEAKER_05You think you're gonna come while I'm nail gunning you in the head after you've been cheese gratered on the leg?
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe accidentally.
SPEAKER_00Jesus fucking Christ.
SPEAKER_01But I mean, like, do you think one of them went in and he was just like I guess so, yeah.
SPEAKER_06I mean the children's got synesthesia or something right after the the sixth one.
SPEAKER_01See synesthesia, the whole like people that that it's just not a thing. People say it's not a thing. See if everyone that said it had the same colours for the same numbers, okay, that's a thing. But everyone has different things, that's just you attributing a colour to a thing.
SPEAKER_07I mean, yeah, it's probably like a very minute form of brain damage. That doesn't mean it's not a real I knew someone in high school who had that.
SPEAKER_01No, but you're just you're saying a number's a color.
SPEAKER_07No, it's a bunch of different things. It's just it your your brain is crossed. The associations in your brain are crossed. So the the person I knew in high school would see colors when they heard certain noises, especially music.
SPEAKER_01But see, that seems like a good thing.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that sounds cool as hell. The way she described it, it sounded really cool. Sounded like a built-in visualizer.
SPEAKER_00Fucking Pink Floyd.
SPEAKER_01I think it's too slow. I think you want something like hyper.
SPEAKER_07True. You want some. Do you think like death metal or prog rock, some closure in Moscow would be a little bit too fast? Just slightly too fast.
SPEAKER_01I think it depends on your vibe. The Mars Volta. And you pulled on some like see the punk music that's supposed to sound bad.
SPEAKER_00The offspring.
SPEAKER_01Like, don't you be dissing? What the fuck?
SPEAKER_07I love the offspring. I love the offspring. I'm I'm fucked.
SPEAKER_01That is a Glasgow Cathouse classic.
SPEAKER_07Really? That's cool. I like that. I'm not dissing Dexter Holland.
SPEAKER_01I'm talking about like early, early punk, where it's like see it's even some fucking GG Allen. See stuff that's just transgressive noise.
SPEAKER_07You think that would be visually the most interesting?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like fucking one of those noise artists that the whole is the live shows they just like smash shit and scream for a bit.
SPEAKER_07Like almost jazz.
SPEAKER_01Like the was there not a noise artist that was famous for doing like weird performances in the Yokohono? No, it was like an underground Japanese guy and he smashed a tractor through the venue.
SPEAKER_07No, I I mean maybe. I don't know about that. That's wild.
SPEAKER_01Imagine you thought it was just like your brain acting fuck because of the noise. You're like, whoa, I'm seeing the tractor lads. Why's everyone moving?
SPEAKER_00I might for a second.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, Evil Dead Burden, I am cautiously optimistic. It did me dirty with the Rice trailer. The color grading is the one thing that's making me I don't want to stare at that for two hours.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it looks like uh like a Mexico piss filter.
SPEAKER_01It looks like a fucking Charlie Kaufman picture. Why is it so fucking bland and depressing?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it just doesn't look I don't know. It can have any sort of life to it without ruining the horror.
SPEAKER_01I'm thinking of evil deading.
SPEAKER_00You're thinking of oh, yeah. Thinking of deading things. Thinking of deading things. I mean you could do that. Just end it in a big musical number. Yeah. You think that would go over?
SPEAKER_01I think you could pull it off. I think you could do it in a way that it would work. See if okay, see we brought Bruce Campbell back and it was a slapstick evil they like similar to Ash vs We are Dead, and you wrap the story fully before Ash turns to the camera, breaks the phone, and then the curtains pull for a dance number. I think you could do it. But you would have to be careful about not making the end anticlimactic, then having the dance number.
SPEAKER_00How do you think this will end?
SPEAKER_07I'm gonna wager my guess that it's gonna be the end of Evil Dead 2. I I think it's a crazy guess. I don't really know if it's gonna happen, but I'm gonna say time travel. And Bruce Campbell might come back somehow.
SPEAKER_01I think that's Rise. Not Rise, Rath. It's gotta be Rath.
SPEAKER_07You think Rath's doing that? Okay.
SPEAKER_01I think Rath's doing it. I think Burn is just gonna Well, he's a fire guy. We see the fire guy and they're in the snow. I'd imagine just for a nice visual, burning the house down in the snow.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and then you think Do you think it'll end in any way that That's the thing, is all the Evil Dead movies end in a way that does not lead them into a universe or building a franchise, because they all just end right after the action finishes. And they don't really give any time to set up what the characters are doing after, or set up where the world's going to be.
SPEAKER_01Well, yeah, because well it's c it's a closed book in it.
SPEAKER_07It is, but if they're creating some sort of thematic or even like a trilogy within the universe that doesn't have continuing characters, you know, they're you would assume they want to spend a moment at the end of this movie setting something up.
SPEAKER_01I suppose you're right, because if this just ends with them killing the deadites and then at hard cuts, that means we've had three movies in a row that are practically identical.
SPEAKER_00That too, yeah. I could see them all dying.
SPEAKER_01That would be a good way to end it.
SPEAKER_00It would be, that has not happened yet.
SPEAKER_01We can't end it in a type of saw in a blood drain, we can't do it, we've done it twice.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and it the second time was good because it was a reference. It's not like it felt hokey. It was a reference and it they did it in a way that felt you know realistic and in the world enough. But if we do it again, it's gonna be awful.
SPEAKER_01Unless Rath is supposed to be like them doing universe stuff, and this is just supposed to be hey, we had two movies that were very similar. We'll make it a trilogy, and then we'll move on.
SPEAKER_00Maybe. I wonder what.
SPEAKER_07There's gotta be a car sequence we're not fully seeing, like where that lady gets her fingers chopped off. So that's gotta be 10, 15 minutes of the movie, and then they're in the house getting thrown around probably around half an hour, 40 minutes in. You know, like what's going on in this movie? It feels like the dishwasher scene happens 50, 60 minutes in at the latest. Uh it's not if it is half an hour of 20 minutes or half an hour of this fiery guy walking around, you know, what does that look like in the movie? It's just our one main character running away from him. I'm very curious what's in the movie.
SPEAKER_01Well, they can't be too strong of Deadites if we've got because the sister's gonna have to die, the sister deadite, and then the dad deade is going to have to die. And then the dog deade is gonna have to die. So our main character is gonna put up a good fight at least.
SPEAKER_00True, yeah.
SPEAKER_07I wonder how if this turns into ready or not a little bit, you know, like how that winds up happening.
SPEAKER_01See, that would be fun one person versus an entire family of Deadites. Like if it goes to shit through the course of the movie and everyone gets turned.
SPEAKER_07That would be cool, and that would be closer to the original Evil Dead movie than any other movie has been so far.
SPEAKER_01But like, but how would you do that without being anti-c-cause she can't kill them all, she's gonna have to die then.
SPEAKER_07That's the thing, I don't know, and also like you're saying, if she's able to escape or kill them while she's in the house with them, it's gonna depower them or make them seem not like deadites. I'm very curious how all of this will link up.
SPEAKER_01Well, I guess we will see in a month.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I guess so. Uh check back in with us.
SPEAKER_01When does this? Pretty soon, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Pretty soon, I don't remember offhand. Let's find out together.
SPEAKER_01See, I'm trying to I'm putting up the description. July 10th. So we've got like three months out.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh wait, we've got a description? Hold on, setting yapping a waiver's a whole description in the title. Let me clear my throat.
SPEAKER_00Moves in with her in-laws.
SPEAKER_01After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in the secluded family home. One by one they are transformed into dead ice. Yeah, so it is the family unit slowly getting turned. Turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell, she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on in death, so it must be raising the dead. Her husband must come back.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Grieving woman. Yeah, it makes sense that her husband would come back.
SPEAKER_01Well, if it says the vows she took in life live on even in death.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Which I guess is a fun play on the in sickness and health and life and death.
SPEAKER_00I guess so, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But like, okay, so she's gonna die. She's gonna die, she can't not die. Although, do you know what would be very, very, very fun? CV ended at like um pet cemetery where the whole family are turned and be leaved together. As a little kind of uh undead family.
SPEAKER_07That would be cool, and it would if what they're doing in Wrath is trying to set up like, yeah, if it's if they're trying to set up an apocalypse of some sort in Wrath, having this movie end with everyone becoming a Dead Eight and still being alive would be a good step towards that.
SPEAKER_01And then we could go find the rest of the books, and then that would it would tie everything together.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that'd be interesting, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I wonder if the Deadites know of the other books. Or if they just know of their own book.
SPEAKER_00You think we'd have warring Deadites?
SPEAKER_03Oh, that would be so cool. That would be so good. Like an apocalypse where like where different Deadites have different sides.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that'd be interesting.
SPEAKER_01It would be almost like crossed, surely.
SPEAKER_00Oh, kinda, yeah. Weird.
SPEAKER_01It would be an insane TV show. But the only way you could ever make that come full circle in the end would be if Ash comes back, and as we said with Chris Campbell.
SPEAKER_00That's it's not seeming likely.
SPEAKER_06Especially since were they gonna do an animated thing at some point?
SPEAKER_01See, I've I thought I remembered that, but uh like who fucking cares, man? Who gives this shit? Just make the movie. Is my issue with fucking Predator Killer of Killers? It's like, yeah, okay, this is cool, you've showed me little 15-second not 15 seconds, 15-minute vignettes of a cool movie but animated and crammed into a smaller thing.
SPEAKER_07When what's cool about both of these franchises is that you could see the thing physically to start with.
SPEAKER_01Ah, we'll see. We'll see. I'm sure it will be at least pretty good.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I'm I'm expecting a fun watch. Anything other than that, we'll see.
SPEAKER_01See if it comes out and it's Evil Dead again.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's w that's maybe what I'm the most worried about is something that's effective and watchable, but it's just the same thing. And this franchise has so much going on in it. It's not just floaty ghost zombies. There's all of Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness that have so much stuff that hasn't been tapped again.
SPEAKER_00Uh all we can do is pray.
SPEAKER_07And we will. And listeners, pray with us. And send in your prayers and emails to the uncannyvalleypod at gmail.com. Follow us at the uncannyvalley pod. Wait, it's the other way around. The uncannyvalleypod on Instagram, and then email us at the uncannyvalleypodcast at gmail.com I'm sure I'm sure people could figure it out. You'll figure it out.
SPEAKER_01Is it Gmail? Where are we?
SPEAKER_07You'll figure it out. I promise you. You're smarter than you give yourself credit.
SPEAKER_01Thank you, Chris. Thank you.
