There’s a gap between what you say you want—and what you actually do.

And that gap? That’s where most people lose momentum.

In this Monday Fire-Up episode of F Is for Effort, we’re breaking down how to close that gap by aligning your actions with your intentions. No more overthinking. No more waiting. Just one deliberate move that proves who you’re becoming.

This episode introduces the Close the Gap Challenge—a simple but powerful shift: take one goal you talk about and back it up with real action today.

Because confidence doesn’t come from talking about it.
It comes from doing it.

Press play.
Take action.
Close the gap.

F is for Effort.

Okay, welcome to your Monday fireup. So let's get going. It's Monday. And before you start your week, I want you to think about one thing: the gap. The gap between what you say what you want and what you actually do. Because most people don't struggle with goals. They struggle with alignment. They say they want to get in shape, but they skip the workout. They say they want to grow, but they stay comfortable. They say they want more, but they don't change anything. That's the gap. And the truth is that gap doesn't close on its own. It widens. Every time you delay, every time you hesitate, every time you choose comfort over effort, that gap gets bigger. And eventually you don't just feel off track. You feel disconnected from the person you said you wanted to become. But here's the good news. You don't need a massive change to fix it. You need one aligned action. Because alignment builds identity. When your actions match your intentions, something powerful and important happens. You trust yourself again. You stop overthinking. You stop doubting. You stop questioning whether you can do it because you are doing it. Not perfectly, not all at once, but consistently enough to prove something. And Monday is the best time to fix that gap. Not by planning more, not by thinking more, but by acting in alignment. Okay, so it's that time. Time for your fire up challenge. And I call this one Close the Gap. So here is your challenge. I want you to pick one thing you say you want and prove it with action today. Just one. Not five goals, not an overhaul of your entire life. Just make one statement, which means one aligned action. So if you say you want to get in shape, get your workout done today. If you say you want to grow, spend time learning or building something you want to expand your mind or skills in. If you say you want discipline, do something you don't feel like doing. If you say you want focus, remove distractions and lock in. Make one claim, then one action that backs it up. Because talk creates intention, but action creates identity. And when you start matching your words with your behavior, you stop feeling stuck. You start feeling in control. Okay, so now it's time for the takeaways and your final push. Let me leave you with this. The life you want isn't built on what you say, it's built on what you do and repeat. And every Monday gives you a chance to realign who you are with what you do. You don't need to close the entire gap today. Just shrink it. One decision, one action, one moment where you choose effort over comfort, and then do it again tomorrow. Because when your actions start lining up with your standards, your confidence grows naturally. Your momentum builds naturally, and your results become inevitable. So don't just talk about the week you want. Start acting like it. New week, less talk, more alignment. And as you go about closing the gap, if you don't succeed on the first attempt, it's completely okay because it means you experienced failed effort, life lived, and you're now stronger because of it. So get going and let's close the gap. Thank you for joining me today. Please follow this podcast if you haven't done so already. I'm Jack Hayden. Until next time.
