Momentum is not built by waiting.
It’s built by movement.

In this Monday Fire-Up episode of F Is for Effort, we’re focusing on decisive action, mental momentum, and refusing to let hesitation control the week ahead.

This episode begins with a brief Memorial Day acknowledgment-recognizing sacrifice, gratitude, and the opportunity we all have to move forward with purpose.

From there, the focus shifts to one powerful truth:

You do not need perfect readiness to start.
You just need movement.

This week’s Start the Countdown Challenge is designed to help you break hesitation instantly and train yourself to act before doubt and overthinking take over.

No waiting.
No freezing.
No wasted momentum.

Press play.
Move with intention.
Build momentum.
Attack the week.

F is for Effort.

Hello everyone. Welcome to your Monday Fire Up. It's Monday. A brand new week is here. And for those here in the United States, today is Memorial Day, a day to remember and honor those who gave everything in service and sacrifice. Today is more than just a long holiday weekend. It's a reminder of sacrifice, service, and courage. So before we talk about goals, momentum, and discipline, let's take a second to appreciate the freedoms and opportunities we get to wake up to every single day. And with that gratitude in mind, let's attack this week with purpose. Because too many people waste energy at the start of the week trying to figure out whether they feel ready. But readiness is overrated. Action is what changes things because nobody builds momentum by waiting. Momentum is built by movement, one action at a time, one decision at a time, one effort at a time. And the biggest mistake people make on Monday is thinking they have to conquer the entire week immediately. You don't. You just have to stop hesitating. That's where momentum dies. Hesitation. Waiting too long to begin, waiting too long to commit, waiting too long to move. Meanwhile, the week keeps going. But strong people understand something different. You do not need massive action to change your week. You need decisive action. You need to move when it's time to move, because confidence doesn't come from thinking about action. Confidence comes from action. That's why people who grow the fastest are usually not the people with the most motivation. They're the people willing to engage quickly. They act before doubt grows louder. They take the step before overthinking takes over. And because of that, they stay in motion. That's what this week needs from you. Not perfection, motion. Some days this week will feel smooth, others won't. Some moments you'll feel focused, other moments you'll feel resistance. But your power this week is not in avoiding resistance. It's in refusing to freeze when resistance shows up. Because every time you continue forward despite resistance, you build momentum. And momentum changes everything. Momentum changes your confidence. It changes your mindset, and momentum changes how you see yourself. So this week, stop waiting to fully feel like it. Move anyway. Okay, and now it's that time. Time for your fire up challenge. And I call this one start the countdown. Are you ready? Okay, here's your challenge. The moment you catch yourself hesitating this week, count down from five and move immediately. So start the countdown. Five, four, three, two, one, move. No negotiating, no overthinking, no waiting for the perfect mood. Just action. Start the task, send the message, begin the workout, make the call, get up and move. Because hesitation creates distance between you and momentum. Action closes the gap. And the faster you train yourself to move through hesitation, the stronger you become mentally. You stop being controlled by emotion. You start becoming controlled by intention. Okay, and now with all of that, let me give you the takeaways and your final push. Let me leave you with this. This week is not about being perfect. It's about refusing to stay still. Because growth does not happen while waiting. It happens while moving, while trying, while showing up, while continuing forward, even when the energy is low. That's where momentum is built. So as this week begins, remember you already have enough to start. You already have enough to take the next step. One decisive action can change the direction of your entire week. And if you find yourself having to start countdowns repeatedly, that's totally okay. Because it's just failed effort. Life lived. New week, decisive movement, relentless effort. Let's move with purpose this week. Thank you for joining me today. I hope you all have a great Monday and a great week ahead. And please don't forget to follow this podcast if you haven't done so already. I'm Jack Hayden. Until next time.
