Hey. Hey. Hi everyone. Welcome to the first episode of The Beauty Files. That this is. Does that feel good? Is everyone are we do we sound okay? Should we I don't know, should we like sit up higher, adjust? Um, yeah, so this is first episode, like I said. My name is Amy, and I'm with I'm Rachel. Hi. Hi. Oh, okay. So we um obviously we're super nervous because we already see we have some followers. So hi everyone. Um you can follow us. We're now on Instagram. We are at the Beauty Files Pod, so make sure you uh catch up on. We're gonna have some posts. We're gonna keep conversation going uh in those posts. So come come over and say hi. And then uh we have personal pages as well, uh and or business, I guess. Yeah. But um, you can find me at an afternoon with Amy.
SPEAKER_00And you can find me at Exquisite Med Spa, and then I'll get my personal eventually and uh share that with you too.
SPEAKER_01Something to look forward to, right? I like that. So um, if you had the pleasure of looking at our Instagram, you can see that we're just two women in the space, and we just want to create a podcast that doesn't exist, and we aren't even sure what that is yet, but we what we do know is we're not gonna be your typical, I don't know, I just feel like all beauty podcasts, they all come from LA, they all have a certain essence to them that I just it's not relatable, and that's not what we're after. We our goal is actually to talk about tangible takeaways that you can have to not only just learn about beauty and makeup and skincare and procedures, but actually feel beautiful from the inside out. Absolutely. Is that our mission standard?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I would, you know, with what I do, um, that is my main goal is making sure that how beautiful you feel on the inside also is able to match that on the outside. Um, and for some for some people it may be a little more challenging or take a little more time. Um, but creating that that space that makes you feel good and makes you happy and proud to be you and confident um is something that I think all of us kind of lack. And uh well, let's go from there.
SPEAKER_01What do you do?
SPEAKER_00So I am a cosmetologist, an aesthetician, um, and also a permanent makeup artist. Um so I have my my hands in a lot of different things. Um I have a business, um, it's a med spa. We're able to do um a multitude of things, whether that be with lasers, eyelash extensions, injections for Botox or fillers, um, weight loss, um, laser hair removal, waxing, um, tattooing of the eyebrows or the lips. So many, many things that we do offer. Um, I have been in this industry for almost 21 years now. Wow. Like, really? Take a minute with that.
SPEAKER_01So, yeah. Well, I can say as a client first of yours, turned friend, uh, yeah, all of those things make me feel really beautiful. Um I am very excited when I have an appointment. And you've seen me in every phase and stage of certain procedures, or or even just just is there another word for procedures? Just I don't know. Something. I wouldn't call lashes a procedure. No, it's more of a treatment. I like treatment plans. Treatment plans. Well, yeah, you can tell that Rachel is gonna be like basically our in parentheses doctor. Okay. She has actual certifications. I'm more um coming at it as an enthusiast. We're gonna go with that that realm, uh, which leads me to my background in just this industry, because obviously I've had a life before starting an afternoon with Amy. But um, I started that about a year ago, coming up to almost a year. I think I started in May of last year. Um, I've avoided social media my entire adulthood. Um, so that's why this is so comical that I am now at almost 38 years old and I'm trying to figure out Instagram. Um, I'm doing makeup tutorials, figuring things out as I go. Um, I'm also uh an affiliate with a brand called Saint S-C-I-N-T Beauty. Um, and it's it's just a makeup that I fell in love with that I just cannot shut up about. So I'm just doing little tutorials, showing people what to do along the way, and really just, I don't know, trying to inspire people that it's not too late to try a new thing. Um I was not a makeup guru by any any means until uh like early to mid-30s, I would say.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was a makeup guru um from the time I was a teenager. Um, using anything and everything I get my hands on because of how bad my skin was. So we needed to to figure that out. Um, I always say that uh the things that you do in your childhood um usually inspire you. Yeah. That's to whatever career it is that you have as an adult, um, as well as you know, the things that your parents do. So people always ask, like, you know, makeup was a huge part, hair, my appearance, that was a huge part of my um childhood and my upbringing. Um mind you, my mother didn't know how to do any of it. So um I had to teach myself everything. Um, and trial and error is definitely something uh that we all experience, uh, no matter what age that is.
SPEAKER_01That's a fantastic well, well put, because that is that's where I I would define my early childhood was was that just trial and error. And a lot of it I didn't even know was an issue until too late. Right. Oh, okay. Uh looking back now, yeah, I'd wish I wish it didn't walk out the door like that. Um, but of course, that's just that's always the way. You could be the trendiest person and you still look back on photos and be like, what was I thinking? Well, and then the trend's back. So, which is a whole other thing. Up in the flow of it. Yes. From from and we're gonna get into all this. So, really, this episode is just an introduction, I guess, of of uh of us, what's to come, what can you look forward to, and hopefully it's just the sound of our voices because I don't know exactly what's to come. I don't who knows. There's gonna be all kinds of things we're gonna talk about, right? Um, like I said in the bio uh on Instagram, we are all the things we're gonna be beauty, style, wellness, um, and then just talking about our everyday lives. So the goal is to truly just turn to us when you need something to listen to.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and we are here. And if you have questions for us about anything, um you're curious, or you want us to talk about something in particular, um, please feel free to uh shoot us a message.
SPEAKER_01Um, we would love any kind of recommendation you'd like. We do obviously we have some some topics that we're going to discuss, but um we do want this to feel more like a community, an interactive thing where you can actually like it's obtainable. You can talk to us.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. We are yeah, we're here to be your your go-to friend, you know. You got chat G P T. I have to say that slow because I always want to call it G B T. Oh Chat G B Yeah, I hear that. Yeah, so I enunciated a little bit. Yes. Um, but you can use us um as your your your chat G B T.
SPEAKER_01Or your AI assistants that aren't actually AI. Yeah, this is fun. I I so the setup here is uh Rachel and I are at like a little round bistro table. We have our mics and our laptop, and we have our she has a glass of water. I have um my bottled water as well. And it's surreal sitting here, but I feel like we need to do like um like voice warm-ups, like to enunciate and because this is weird. We have the headphones on so we can hear our voices live through it. So it is uh this is definitely we're doing this too to to grow ourselves.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because this is something that makes both of us uncomfortable. Now, I will say Amy is way more advanced when it comes to putting herself out there than I am. Um, I have never been comfortable video recording myself or even talking. Um so this is easier for me than if Oh, than like having a camera. If there was a camera. Which we will be having just so we will be having that, but starting out like this is a little bit easier because I will typically go, um, uh So this is good.
SPEAKER_01This is a good place to start for me. And they say do something that makes you uncomfortable. Yes. Well, they say it every day, and I I I can't do that.
SPEAKER_00I don't know that most of us do that every day. I think we uh we might try to do things or have good intentions, but Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I I really like habits and per yeah, I don't know. So anyway, so we're doing this just as much for ourselves as we are for all of you. Um so anyway, um I don't know how long we've been going. Oh 10 minutes. I mean, this is a good intro episode. All right, we'll tune in next week. Oh, that's the other thing I should probably uh let everyone know. We will be uh doing this weekly, at least to start out. Um and our goal is to do it on video.
SPEAKER_00On video. Hopefully, I I think we should set an expectation for ourselves. What do you think? Goal. A goal like that. We say by this time we are going to be live on video. How about the summer? No. Oh, okay. That's way too far.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Oh, okay. Your response made me think like that's too soon. No. Well, let's see. We are I guess that is kind of far. We're in the end of February, early.
SPEAKER_00Literally, tomorrow is the last day. So That's exciting. How about we say by May? Okay. I like that. And we're putting it out there. Yeah. So now we have to hold it ourselves responsible.
SPEAKER_01Accountable, responsible.
SPEAKER_00Accountable. Yeah. Which means we'll be on YouTube. Oh, yeah, we have work to do. We do. Okay. And that means we have to look presentable.
SPEAKER_01Also true. Because we have to talk, you know, we gotta talk the talk.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So you guys can actually see not just a picture of us, um, but also see us in in uh real time video, not necessarily real real time, but well, we could do that too.
SPEAKER_01We could do live. We could go we need to have lives.
SPEAKER_00We can also do Instagram live. We have options. We do have options. I might be red the entire time on the live, but you're not right now. You're not red right now.
SPEAKER_01You look great. I do. Anyway, so this is a little bit of the banter that you can expect. Um by next episode, we'll have actual um things to talk about. And yeah, that's just the intro, but this is the Beady Files podcast. So please make sure you follow along, and we're really excited to have you. And the case is closed. Oh, the case closed.
