Hello, and welcome back to the Beauty Files. This is Sasha. You are tuning in, and today we are discussing men. It's all about the men. It's all about you, babe. The man. So thank you. Ladies, just buckle up and maybe learn something. I don't know. It's for the man. It's for the men. It's for the men. It's all about you guys. It's for the man. It's for the man.
SPEAKER_03So if you want, if you want, you could turn up the volume so that your man hears. Play this loudly. Because you don't have to suggest this stuff, but we're gonna suggest it for you. For the man. We do have a few male listeners. Um, this did come um at request uh by one of them. Um which you know what? I I said that we want suggestions. We got suggestions. Yeah. Um actually this is a good one. It it got a lot of conversation going between Rachel and myself. We did pull in my spouse to weigh in just to make sure that we were, you know, fighting the good fight and and benefiting men. And he even had some uh additions that we didn't consider.
SPEAKER_04So this is true.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Well, before we get into that, I have a question. Oh yeah. So clothing. Oh, clothing. Do you are you a user of the stupid little these things? These the the strings under the armpit.
SPEAKER_04No, no. I I hate them. I cut them out.
SPEAKER_03I hate them so much. Did you cut them out? Of course. And uh that's funny because when you got here today, I texted you and said, I'll be right down. And that is what I was doing. I was I was trying to- Did you have them all day? You know it's funny, um, I haven't it's finally like getting warm out, right? So I I had this on, but I had the coat on. I have like a denim jacket on top, and I was only this evening well, like what time is it? Yeah, early at late afternoon, that I like took the jacket off and saw that it was dangling out. And I was like, oh, I didn't even know these had that, because it's been a minute since I've worn this. And I started like tucking it back in. I was like, oh, what am I doing? And I grabbed the scissors and I went for it.
SPEAKER_04And I I just I need to know who is using this even The only time I feel like they're effective is if it's like a halter. Even then I just take one but no no no, but I meant like for hanging purposes because you want to hang it to preserve it to make it look nice. So more in like dresses. I should, but I don't I don't even think Oh no, see, okay.
SPEAKER_03I fold I fold it and then I loop it through.
SPEAKER_04Sometimes I will do that too, but it just depends on the material of the dress. Um strapless, I'll use them. Yes. Um, and then if it's like a a one, mm-hmm. One like a what is that? Yeah, like making a safety belt. Um just one shoulder. One shoulder, yeah. But the um but I'll cut out the one side, I'll only leave the other.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, uh that makes sense. Because I actually just I just did that by accident. I cut it and then I went to hang it and I was like, oh crap.
SPEAKER_04Yes. So so I will do it only for those instances that will I leave it in, but for anything else, I'm just like, ew.
SPEAKER_03Now, okay, here's here's another really annoying thing, okay? Those little those little underarm strap things to hang. You ever have one that's like this big around, like a like a half dollar, and it doesn't go around the hanger? I was like, what is what is the point of this? Yeah, who is this for? What kind of hangers do you have? Are you okay? Here's a here's a better question. Do you have mismatched hangers? I do. Okay. This is funny, because I have all one type.
SPEAKER_04I have mismatched hangers. I now when I buy hangers, I buy them so they're cohesive. Um, but you're slowly like as they break into that. Um and for my kids, because I went from like the little baby hangers, so now like the ones that they do have. We need to talk about that because that I did not expect to be that sad. Okay. I still have baby hangers because Well you have littles.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Well, little one. But when I okay, so my child, I did her nursery, whatever, a hundred years ago. I had little pink velvet hangers with like tiny little white polka dots on them. Yeah. And I loved them. And it was geez, maybe two years ago now. I did not realize like how sad that like that was a real chapter of those hangers.
SPEAKER_04Um, so yeah, I do still have um mismatched hangers, especially in their rooms, but as I take it out, I prefer the ones that have like the fuzz, like the felt, like the velvety. Um, just because I feel like everything sticks to it. So even if it doesn't have like the other little hooks in it. Yes. Also, kids don't break them as easily. FYI, if you have kids and they like to yank things off, those plastic ones break. No, the velvet ones do too.
SPEAKER_03Or I guess they're vel they're like suede. No, my child, unless it's just my child, she will yank and that thing will snap. Now it doesn't snap on the triangle.
SPEAKER_04No, it's at the head of it.
SPEAKER_03At the head of it. Yeah. Now she has snapped a couple now that I think about it. You step on one, forget it.
unknownOh yeah.
SPEAKER_04So there are there are some setbacks or some drawbacks to I mean, and and let's be honest, like none of us are gonna sp invest tons of money in hangers. You know, we're just gonna get more.
SPEAKER_03Um I okay, so let's see. It was when we moved here at our current house. I wanted like this was like my big girl house, even though I already had a big girl house. I just this was like I don't know.
SPEAKER_04This is your forever house. I don't know, I don't like to say that.
SPEAKER_03No, yeah, I I just don't like that word. Okay. Forever. I don't like don't weigh me down. Long term. Yeah, okay, that works.
SPEAKER_04We'll say the long term.
SPEAKER_03Um I don't in imagine us leaving anytime soon. And hope I don't know. It's just we don't know. That's why I don't like to say it. But not the point. The point is is that when we moved here, I had some time to like because we weren't living here. We were living in a tiny little thing while it was being built. So I was just, you know, online. Click, click, click. I want to buy this, get this. I did invest in all the hangers at one time. And I have to say, hangers that is quite a business to be in. I would love to see the margins of a hanger company because they are very expensive. Yeah. And they do the stupidest thing, and you need them.
unknownYeah, you do.
SPEAKER_03But it does look really now. My only regret is I got like an ivory color. And I don't know what I was thinking, I should have got black. I don't know what I was thinking.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so I have black mainly. Um but for work we had gotten ivory. I took a couple of those home. That's fine. But again, I I know To me, it doesn't really matter because nobody else is going in my closet. I think if like I was showcasing my closet for something, I would be like, okay, my kids, I know they're going to probably break them. Yeah. Eventually. Yeah. Um, or take them with them. So I'm like, you know, whatever, they're hangers, it'll be fine.
SPEAKER_03They're they're going with you for life. They're an investment piece. I don't know why we're talking about hangers.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. So guys.
SPEAKER_03Let's talk about you. I honestly have no idea. Let's see how we're going to do that. Oh, I know why. I asked you about those little hangy things. Okay, hang on, but I feel like I was going somewhere with that. Maybe not. I don't know. Okay, yeah, men. Let's let's talk about that. Um so we did a double. I would ask you how your mother's day was, but I don't know yet because we haven't had it yet.
SPEAKER_04No, we have not. Are you doing anything for Mother's Day? That's related. You know, I Sports don't stop. They don't they don't stop, you know. They don't care about moms. Moms just have to do it. So we will be at a sports event on Mother's Day.
SPEAKER_03Um I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_04And it's okay. And so for me, I it'll be fine. It'll be fine.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm fine. I'm more excited about the painting for you. Yeah. Because when she says painting, she means painting the walls of exquisite medspa. And um, oh, uh when does this come out? Oh. It'll be after. Thanks for coming out to the event on the 15th. It was a great day. So fun. Everything went super well. There were no hiccups at all. We had full books, everything was perfect, right? We're gonna put that out there. Absolutely. We're talking in the future in the past. It's a very weird thing. We're talking in the future about the past. Correct.
SPEAKER_04You get you wrap your head, you tell me. And men, this is a thank you for thank you for showing up too. And if you didn't show up, now is a good time to show up because we're telling you about yourselves and what you need to do. It's true.
SPEAKER_03And if you missed out on um Mother's Day because you don't have a significant other, don't forget about your own mom. Yeah. And or even a mom figure. Or a baby mama or whatever you got. Just a a random woman. If you see she has a child, just say happy Mother's Day.
SPEAKER_04It will make her day. It really will. I I promise you. Even if you don't think it will, it will. And this is also in the past.
SPEAKER_03In the future. So we're confused. I hope that you wished someone happy Mother's Day. That's that's last Sunday. This is hard, you guys. I don't think you guys realize. Like, we have to there's some real like skill in this in this biz. Um, okay. Okay. All right. All right. So let's get on topic. Let's get on topic. Um, because it's a good one. So, okay. It's for men. Um, and or for you, uh, the lady to encourage encourage or just silently do things without them knowing. Right. Because there's that too. There there is the man out there that's just resistant to the to things, and that that's a real thing. And that is a them problem, uh, just so you know. So you can either accept that or make the changes for them. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Um, I will say, um, you know, there's a lot of different types of men out there, and there is definitely a guy for for every woman. It's a lid for every pot. Right. So different styles, um, different ways that people take care of themselves and everything, like all of them, they matter, right? Um, but I will say a lot of women will pay attention to what men do, whether that be their dress code, their haircut, their what they do with their skin, what you know, um, sports, what they eat, whether they work out, like all of those things matter to a certain extent to women. Um and just like men, they look at a woman and they're like, oh, wow, she looks really nice. Um women do the same. Yes. So that's why this really matters for men, because a man may look at you and think, oh gosh, you're you're high meanings or you're you're something, but yet they like it because they like what they see.
SPEAKER_03They don't know what they like. And it's important that we educate Correct on that.
SPEAKER_04That's right. So women in turn, when we see a man, we're like in them. We either like it or we don't like it. Yes. Um, and so taking care of yourself, dressing appropriately, you know, wearing cologne, making sure your your hair's done, and all of you know, your skin, all of those things matter because you're a whole package. You are a whole package, and just like women, you're important and you should take care of yourself. It's true. And they don't take as much care of themselves. So that's why we're gonna talk about a man and w things that they can do um to improve themselves, um, and what women actually look at and look for um things that matter and things that really don't matter.
SPEAKER_03It's true. And as Rachel said, every man is different and every uh everything a woman likes obviously is gonna vary too. So take what you want, leave what you don't, and just know that this is a list that Rachel and I have compiled together. So obviously we're thinking things that we notice. So if you're like, oh, they missed that blankety blank, well, okay, add that to your list. Okay. So we're gonna teach you.
SPEAKER_04We're gonna train you a little bit on things that you should do that will only enhance your natural features and what you got going on. And if you are out there looking for somebody, make them maybe turn and look your way.
SPEAKER_03That's right. All right, shut up, Amy and Rachel. Get to the point. Let's get to the top I have 12 here, but we'll see how far we get or how much past we go. So, okay, these are in no particular order, so don't like list them in order of importance. But should I send you the list? You can send it to me. I'll send you the list just in case you want to jump in. Okay, number one your scent. Okay. Um, I think you can uh instantly upgrade your whole essence by changing the way you smell. Um, if you're still using axe body spray, do they even still make axe body spray?
SPEAKER_04They do. My son he did have me buy it. That's again if you're a teenager.
SPEAKER_03Well, I guess what I'm saying is, yes, if you're still using it, okay, and you're I know your son listens to this on occasion, so this really this doesn't apply to him. I guess that's still that's still a thing. If you're 21 and over and you're still using Axe Body Spray, we we need to set that down. Yeah. And we need to throw it away or give it to a 12-year-old that you know. Correct. Who's starting to care about what they what they smell like. Um, same thing with like uh like I'm trying to think of uh what's that one? Old spice? No. Nope, nope, nope.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, if you're using it as a body wash, that's completely different. Yes, body washing is different. So let me be clear. Like, if you're using cause axe does have the body wash, they do have a scent.
SPEAKER_03Honestly, I'm still gonna say you need to upgrade your ingredients.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I'm not saying you shouldn't, but I'm not saying you shouldn't, but I'm saying if you're using that as a body wash, it is not your overall scent.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I'll give that a very, very slight pass just until you go out and get the the the next thing. You can use up the bottle, okay? Yeah. The ox body spray needs to be thrown out or donated to because it's a body spray.
SPEAKER_04We're we're going with cologne, y'all.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we want cologne cologne. Uh it does not need to be anything outrageous. We don't need to be spending four or five hundred dollars. That's even two hundred. That's that's too much, okay?
SPEAKER_04A good cologne, let's be clear. A good cologne, in all honesty, you're probably not spraying yourself every single day. Um, you're probably spraying it a couple of times a week. That's true. There are points that last only that's the point. It's going to last you a really long time. Um, and most of the bottles that you get are gonna be at least one fluid ounce. Um, so one to two spritz is going to be enough. If you're doing more than that, it's gonna be overkill, and that's awful as well.
SPEAKER_03I just walked behind a woman today. And it was overkill. Oh my. I mean and she was a distance from me.
SPEAKER_04Right. So, so again, one to two sprays, I would say a good cologne is going to be about 150 to 200. That's it's going to last you probably six months. So if you break that down, it's just like with skincare with anything else, if you break that down into how much it actually is per day, even per month, it's really not that much to add in. It's worth it.
SPEAKER_03Because especially if you're out there on the prowl. It's true. Now, I will say too, just because you can't smell it doesn't mean you're not wearing any. Okay? If you can't smell it, it means you're used to it. Do not spray again. Don't just or you know what? Buy two in two different sense. So you can rotate. Okay, keep your nostrils guessing.
SPEAKER_04But once you find one that you really like, spray it on yourself and really see. Like, wait a minute, let it seep in and absorb and see what it smells like on you. And if it still smells really good and you like it, then get it.
SPEAKER_03Okay, number two. Number two. Okay. Do you want to read number two? You don't need to.
SPEAKER_04Number two, facial hair. Scruff.
SPEAKER_03So you're looking at my these are my notes. Okay. These are my you're in my brain right now. The scruff to start. So that's scruff. So I wrote scruff to start because every woman has a different idea of a beard on a man, okay? But I think all in all, a woman, and ladies, you can jump on me and and disagree all you want. I think I will take facial hair over a clean shaven any day. And I have a man with a beautiful face, and it's not that I want him to cover it, it's just to me it's it's manly, and I want a man, okay?
SPEAKER_04I would say clean shaven. Oh yeah. I I love this. Okay, go ahead. Go ahead. I first of all, I find it really uncomfortable kissing a man with facial hair. I think that it hurts. Um, I have it hurts in the beginning.
SPEAKER_03I will agree with that. It stabs you in the face. I it's an exfoliator you didn't ask for.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Super, super sensitive skin and like everything else. And I think that that plays a role into why I just am not a huge fan of it. I don't like the way it feels. It's a personal preference. Again, do I mind a little scruff here and there? As long as you're not kissing me, then it's fine. Okay, five o'clock shadow. I mean, it's okay.
SPEAKER_03Um such a funny thing that has not left the five o'clock shadow.
SPEAKER_04Such a dumb. I think that if you're gonna have it, like have like a little like you need to have a half inch to an inch for the most part. Um say scruff to start. Again, scruff to start. I if you're gonna have it, um, the shadow is kind of like eh. It's like it or not. But but most men um are still kind of spotty with the shadow. So it to me, it still looks eh, like that's fair. That's fair. I mean, if I'm being honest. So I personally, again, I am not a huge fan of it. I think it's you know, it's it's great because you and I are are different on that. Um, and again, a lot of women, like some women absolutely love it, some women just hate it, some women are kind of in the middle, they like that the mustache. I personally, um, one of the big things that you see that's coming out is what I call the pedophile mustache. We mentioned this sometimes. And we did guess a lot. I I'm not a fan. I would rather you have full facial hair than just a mustache. I do think the mustache is no, it's interesting.
SPEAKER_03A little creepy uh yeah, a little bit. Okay, um, I have noticed it's more of like a 20-year-old game. And uh I mean it kind of depends on where you live because in certain areas of the country a mustache means you're gay.
SPEAKER_04So I mean, I it does not mean that here by any means because I know many of young men that have it, and um I even older men that have it that are married, and I just kind of look at them and I'm like, okay. I think that um if Are you going to have facial hair? Make sure that you have facial hair with a purpose. Okay. So make it clean, guys. Do not have it covering your mouth.
SPEAKER_03Do not keep it too long.
SPEAKER_04If you have a long beard, trim it because it's hair, so it's still gonna get broken ends. It can look frayed. Make your beard look nice. Use conditioner. Clean it. Oil it. After you eat, fucking clean that shit.
SPEAKER_03This is the man episode. Um clean it. Okay, so this is this is where we'll we'll s this is where we'll land on this. Okay. Currently, if you're a man and you're not getting the love from a female, whatever your facial hair situation is, do the opposite. If you have a beard, shave that shit. Shave that shit. Just try it. Now wait. Oh, we talked about this. Go ahead. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Go ahead. Some men grow facial hair because they don't have a chin, they don't have a jawline, they don't. If that's you, please come see us. It's true. There are remedies for that. We can fix that shit.
SPEAKER_03It's true. It's true. Look, that's another thing that's not even on this list. That but we we will add it. Look, there is, yes, there are zones where a man should not have filler. I agree. The chin is not one of those areas.
SPEAKER_04You can build the chin and the jawline is not one of those areas.
SPEAKER_03We can build without adding a feminine It doesn't feminize your face.
SPEAKER_04Right. Everyone thinks like, oh my gosh, filler and Botox for Ben, like that's going to automatically make them look more feminine. They're not gonna look as masculine, they're not gonna that is not a true that's not true. And we we can really talk about that. We can not talk about that. I do think that there is a definite place for Botox for men. There's a definite place for filler for men because just like women, men will lose collagen and fat in their face. Some men don't have trends, women are the same way, you know, they don't have that real structured jawline. And those are things that can be created. Yes. Um and you don't need plastic surgery for you don't need plastic surgery. You can do that with um filler, you can do that with Botox, you can do that um by having those things added um slowly. So again, I do understand that there are some men that feel like they need to have that facial hair because maybe they're lacking in that area and that that is okay. 100% understand that.
SPEAKER_03If you're self-conscious, there is something you can do about it. There is something you can do about it. That's all we'll say. But if that's not the case, shave that shit. Shave that shit. And then if you have a if you have a clean shaven face and you're like, uh, maybe you need to scruff it up a little bit and just just see what happens. You might like that alternate ego, you know? You might. Okay. That was number two. Number three, and this one's not exciting, I know, but you need to eat well, okay? Especially if you're dating. Because if you're going out on a date and the date's watching you and you're eating like loaded nachos, which is funny because Rachel and I just ate loaded nachos. Um Rachel and I aren't dating, okay? Um, if you're eating like I mean, essentially, I hate to say it, but you're eating like a pig. You're eating in a way that's like it's gross. Uh it's gross. It's just a man that orders a whiskey and a steak, like just be a man about it. I don't I don't love, that's just me. But I love a man who eats well. And I don't mean salads, okay? Because salads are super gay. I understand that. They they can be.
SPEAKER_04If you're eating if you're drinking a beer and wings, like save that with your guys, your guy friends. That's not necessarily a date thing unless you've been together for a little bit. And if you're going to eat like that, don't just inhale it, and especially if you have facial hair, because I have seen that. It is it's not good.
SPEAKER_03I'd say just mind yourself while you're eating. And I mean and that's funny actually, you now that you say that, eat well, and I also mean eat well. Do not eat in a way that's like off-putting. Right. And don't eat things that are off-putting. It signals to a lady, like, oh, okay, my future is gonna look like this. I work really hard on my physique, and now I'm watching a guy just not take care of himself.
SPEAKER_04Right. A lot of times we as women are trying to do our best to take care of ourselves. So we're gonna look at a man and be like, okay, well, what's he doing?
SPEAKER_03Women are watching that and they are hoping that you have that in common. Right. Um, I hate to break it to you, but you know, and especially because women are like, Well, I hope you're with me for a long time. They ladies do like you, okay? When when they're with you and they like you, they kind of want you to stick around. And it's gonna be like they want you to be healthy. Yeah, yeah. Now, healthy does not mean ordering broccoli and eating salad. Oh no. But you need to, I don't even think this was on the list. You need to take care of yourself physically as well.
SPEAKER_04Right. And, you know, again, the other thing that I will say, many men um you guys don't go to the doctor.
SPEAKER_03It's true.
SPEAKER_04You guys don't I don't either though. And okay, but but even when you're sick, even when you don't feel well, um, you guys don't go and take to the doctor, you'll complain, you'll say something doesn't feel right, you'll do whatever. The second that a woman says we don't feel good, you expect us to run to the doctor. If you want us to do it, then you essentially need to do it as well. You're not weak for doing it. You're not.
SPEAKER_03Unless you're like, my tummy hurts. Then yeah, I'm gonna say you're a weak ass bitch.
SPEAKER_04If it's all the time. But again, like just going and getting yourself checked out here and there.
SPEAKER_03And give us peace of mind, and then we don't have to pester you about it.
SPEAKER_04But take care of yourself. And when we say eat well and do those things, if you're not feeling well, if something is off, just go. Get it looked at, get it checked out, um, and make sure that you're healthy for not only yourself, for your kids, but for your wife, for your girlfriend, for your future girlfriends, for your future wife. Um, because they will appreciate the fact that you're on top of it and that they don't have to sit and worry all the time. Just because women worry enough. So that's just one less thing that we have to worry about.
SPEAKER_03Okay, and and I'm gonna flip it completely because that's that guy. And then there's the guy who only takes care of himself and lives in the gym, and that's all he cares about. And that that's a little too extreme. So really, I think the best thing to say is no extremes. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Don't be um injecting testosterone into your butt.
SPEAKER_03But also get your testosterone checked. It's both. You just can't be the extreme of either. And I and I I mean that on like everything, and that actually goes right into number four. Do you want to read number four? Do you want me to?
SPEAKER_04It says Don't obsess over sports or things that you don't do yourself.
SPEAKER_03Don't obsess over sports. So now look. This is where it's gonna be up to the woman. And in this case, you're asking Rachel and myself. I am not a sports person. I know lots of women who are. But I'm not her. I'm the woman that does not like sports, and I don't really want to like obsess over people who uh we're not on the same team. I'm not on the Baltimore Ravens. I don't when they win, I don't win. I don't say we win. I didn't do anything. Okay? And neither did you, and neither did them. And it's not like do something, like go I would rather you go out and play what? Frisbee. I don't I don't care. Go do something and have you do it, and you can talk about that all you want. Don't talk about a bunch of other men running around a field getting paid millions of dollars. I I I'm over it. I don't know why we're worshiping sports players when they don't do sh I'm sorry. They also have criminal records, and for whatever reason, they they're gods. I you make it make sense.
SPEAKER_04So so I will say I do like football. I do like to watch football. Um, I do have a team that I like, but I'm not obsessive over it. I will watch it, I cannot watch it, I can watch highlights of it. Um I have like a couple of blankets um or a jersey, which is fine if I'm gonna wear it that day, that's fine. I'm not gonna wear it on a regular basis. Um, I'm not gonna go around and try to shove it in your face that my team is, you know, going to the Super Bowl or not going to the Super Bowl or whatever. Um if you have a I look at sports as more of a hobby, um, you know, like fantasy football and stuff like that, that people like get rid of it.
SPEAKER_03I would rather you do fantasy football because at least you have you have um it's a thing that you're doing. Right. But look, and this goes back to the no extremes, okay? If you know every sports stat and you live and breathe football, and there's something going on on Sunday, and you're saying, Oh sorry, I can't, there's a game on. We have that I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_04You gotta find a woman who's like that. And I will tell you that there's not gonna be a plethora of women that are going to They exist though. They do exist. My mother is one, but there's not gonna be an abundance of them. I don't think so. There are they are out there for every sport. Does your mom like every sport though?
SPEAKER_03Or is it just sports Mom? I'm pretty sure you like every single sport. I love you, Mom, and I love that you love sports, and I'm sorry that I don't.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I like sports too. Brings her joy, it brings her great joy, and golf. I think golf is one of the most boring. It is, and also baseball. I think baseball's really boring.
SPEAKER_03Like I like how traditional baseball is though. I like that it has not been footballized. And by that I mean like it's not like this flat. It's really is the all-American sport. It's still wholesome baseball, I think. I'm not watching it. I'm not saying I'm not saying I don't want to watch it. Go out and play baseball.
SPEAKER_04I dated it my high school sweetheart was a soccer player. I cannot stand soccer.
SPEAKER_03I cannot stand soccer. I like soccer. I don't mind watching soccer, but to me, I I like playing soccer, that's the difference.
SPEAKER_04And I didn't like playing it. I don't like watching it. I just I I would rather watch basketball. I would rather watch football. Interesting. Interesting. I soccer just didn't do it for me. Gymnastics, I love gymnastics. Um that's like that, yeah. And I I did gymnastics when I was younger. So like I was a cheerleader, um, you know, and I did swimming. I love swimming too. Like I can watch Your mom is a swimmer. Yeah. So I can watch those things all day long. My son loves pickleball, you know. Um which I know your mom really enjoys. She sure does. My son loves that. And so again, those things I can get into. But guys, if you're that's all that you care about, that's all that you want.
SPEAKER_03Like if you start putting sports in front of your woman, she might she might have she might have an opinion. That's all I'm gonna say. Okay, number uh five. Oh, I added this one. I don't know if I shared this with this one with you. You need to go out and do manual labor. Okay I don't care if it's chopping wood. W fictitious wood wood you're not even gonna use, okay? Go out, mulch something, garden something, take a they now make electric chainsaws, okay? Go out and cut some limbs, get sweaty.
SPEAKER_02I love a man that does work.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Just totally love it. If you can't go outside and mow the grass, there's a problem. We got we have problems. We we have more problems than we have solutions for, okay?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And look, you don't need to be like I mean, I would love it actually if you were. If you had like your own toolkit at your house and you like were your own handyman. Like that, that is there are not enough men that are doing their own housework. And by housework I mean like hanging ceiling fans, hanging curtains, hanging pictures. If you don't know how to hang a picture, you need to watch a YouTube tutorial. Okay, they're out there. I a man that takes pride in where he lives and anything he touches is such a turn on. It is. It is. It's a man who's motivated, a man who takes what he does seriously and is proud of it. I don't care if you're a garbage man or I don't even want to I don't even want to put a label on a thing because it could be any job, a job that you are ashamed of or or is is considered like low, whatever. If you are proud of it, that is what's contagious. And that's it's all about how you are as a man. Are you in a man of integrity? Or do you have good values? Like these are things that transcend axe body spray. Like, I can look past the axe body spray if you're a man of great character and have good work ethic.
SPEAKER_04And I think that that's important um uh all around is the having good work ethic and being able to fix things without automatically needing to call somebody to fix every problem. Um, being a problem solver as opposed to somebody who is like, um yeah, I don't know what to do that. If your wife is the one who has to fix everything, that becomes a problem.
SPEAKER_03That's no good for me. Yeah, or are you know what at least be a team player? Like if it's something you don't know how to do and she does it, at least help her. Right. Don't like I don't know, because there are households where there are women who are like, I'm getting after it. I want to hang, I wanna hang 18. You're painting this weekend. Like it's there is nothing wrong with a woman doing that kind of stuff, but like be supportive or I don't know, do something else for her while she's gone. Right. This goes back to Mother's Day. I hope you guys did something. Just audience, the men listening. Um, but anyway, I just something about a man doing a thing. Right. Do a thing and do it shirtless, you know, just whatever. We're getting into summertime. Um okay, you want to do the next one?
SPEAKER_04Um cargo shorts. Cargo shorts. Update your look, y'all. So, like, I get it if you're working.
SPEAKER_03If you're working. Even then, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04I mean, if you're if you're a construction worker and you're working and you need those cargo shorts.
SPEAKER_03I don't think you do. I think it's a toll belt, and I think men should not work in shorts. I don't know why. Unless you're like a roofer. Maybe.
SPEAKER_04No. I don't know. You roofers don't work in shorts. I think you have to get on their knees.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's true. I think you need to do it. They do not. I think my husband wears what does he wear? He wore dickies for the longest time, but he just recently upgraded his work pant. But he upgraded his work pant, and I can't think of what it is. He's probably yelling at me right now. Uh anyway, it's a nice pant. You can bet, you can do all the things in it. But when you're out and about, if it's summertime and you're going to dinner, please throw away your cargo shorts. If your shorts, first of all, if they go down to your knees, you need to get rid of them. I can't even believe I have to say that. If they're mid-thigh, also get rid of them. You want to be somewhere in between, okay? We want to be like just above the knee, maybe even just like a half an inch above that. Yeah. No shorter, no longer, no pockets on the sides, no bulk, and not skinny. We're not asking for biker shorts, okay? Yeah. We want fit, okay? And that actually rolls into our next one. So we'll combine these. Well, the next actually really it's the next three. One is update your look. The last when's the last time you went shopping?
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_03That's a big one. If you ha if you're wearing the same shorts from 2005, it's time. If your t-shirts are starting to have holes in them, it's time. I don't even care if they're work shirts. That is no. No. Because a lady's gonna be watching you while you're working, and you better also look good then too.
SPEAKER_04You better. We don't want to s now And and let's be clear, what a lady looks for in a w I let's say this. What a woman looks for in her early twenties is very different than what a woman looks for in her late 20s, is very different from what a woman looks for in her early 30s, is very different from what a woman looks for in her late 30s, and so on and so forth. So again, what you may think women like, you may reverting back to, oh, well, the last woman I got with, we were dating in my early 20s.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, she liked it when I was 19.
SPEAKER_04She liked it when I was 19. She liked it when I was oh honey.
SPEAKER_03Also, ask what your wife or girlfriend or just friend that's a girl thinks about herself when she was whatever that age is, and she might be like, oh my god, I can't believe my eyebrows.
SPEAKER_04Right. So again, what you wore way back is not what you should be wearing. It's true. We evolve.
SPEAKER_03And I'm gonna give that same advice for women do not hang on to your jeans from 10 years ago and think, oh, I'll fit into this. No, no, no. Just go out and buy new jeans. Yeah. This it goes with our Mother's Day episode. Like, don't live for tomorrow's you. Get the thing for you now so you can start enjoying life.
SPEAKER_04And I will say that too, guys and women, we're probably not the same size as we were then.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Whether we're bigger or smaller, we're not the same size. That's true. So the way that you dressed then to quote unquote fit your body is not gonna be what you're doing now.
SPEAKER_03That's true. And that still that continues into our next three points because update your look, uh, fit is very important. We don't men, look, skinny jeans are not the they're not it, okay. If you're a woman, it is. Apparently it's coming back too. Skinny jeans are making their way back, which at this point is just everything's optional, you guys. Like wear what you're comfortable, wear what you're doing and looks good. That's fine. Yeah, and that well, that's yeah, that's the big thing. Um, but fit. It needs to be a tailored fit, a fitted, not too baggy, not too skinny, not too fit, not tight.
SPEAKER_01We don't ladies don't want you in tight clothes.
SPEAKER_04No. That's we're not like you guys are not strippers. You're not like we're not trying to grease you up. Like we don't maybe not outside of the bedroom, but you know, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_03I don't know, whatever you guys are into. Some people might be into that. Um yeah. But yeah, how you present yourself, it it really is head to toe. We can't a lot I mean, we women are guilty of this too. We only care about like from the neck up. When people look at you, they look at the whole picture. Right. So if your face is 2026, but the rest of you is 2002, there's a mismatch. Yeah. We can't, that's that's no good. This okay, okay. So this is my this is my husband's um addition here. He he says, pay attention to detail. So your shirt length. Um, ironing, like, are your are your shirts wrinkled? Like when they come out of the wash, are they still like wrinkled on the button-down area? Like, what what are we doing about that? Um, collar. Is your collar floppy? Is it fixed? Is it is it stiff? Is it buttoned? Um Is it stretched? Is it stretch that's a very good question. Is it too stretched? Um, is it also too big? Have you seen some like big ass collars? This is distracting. Um, is your collar popped? Because it really shouldn't be. That was like 2007. Um, you know, it's it's all in the details. And don't be scared to accessorize um outside of belts and shoes. Like you can wear bracelets, you can wear necklaces, you can wear rings. Um, it's all Well, you know, it it depends on your style, but it's acceptable. Like men, don't be scared of jewelry. It's not a feminine thing at all. They make really cool, neat um men's accessories.
SPEAKER_04They do. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_03I it just it lets a woman know that you care about yourself and your and how you show up in the world. Um you you had a funny thing about belts.
SPEAKER_04Okay. So here's the thing about belts, guys. Belts are an accessory. They are not meant to hold your pants up. If you are buying a belt and using a belt to hold your clothes together, to hold them up, to that's a problem. Yep. That means you need to go shopping ASAP. Belts for function.
SPEAKER_03Not no. They're not functional. We're not buying belts for function. I know that seems really dumb, but it's it's not. They are to accessorize an outfit, not to actually fit. I mean, that's like suspenders, okay. Yeah. There are men out there that it can rock suspenders. But they shouldn't. But it's not for me. It's not for me. You know, I'll say that. Yeah. Um, but yeah, for belts, it's an accessory, not a function. Um okay. And this is the big one because this this next one, it's it's all linked. But you need to spend money on clothing outside of Walmart, Target. Not to mention for fit purposes, you're not gonna get a good fit. Um, I'm not asking you to get like Versace or um insert another like really expensive like designer. It's not what I'm saying. Ralph, get like Ralph Law. Yeah. Get the mid-range. Yeah. Get um, you can go to a department store to start out, but honestly, like J. Crew has sales all the time. Express for men is fantastic if you're looking to just get like a just a nice button-up, a nice suit, a suit that's not gonna cost you $300. Like they have sales all the time on updated, trendy, but not too trendy. I'd say classic. That's probably the best. And speaking of classic, if you're a t-shirt wearer, I don't know if you've seen ads, but true classic tees are like the most universally flattering t-shirts for men. Yeah. And they're, I love them. Like my husband lives in them practically, and they're fitted and loose in all the right places, and they're very flattering. So if you're just a guy that just loves t-shirts, it's all about fit, you guys. Like it's it's all about how like proportions, just how things look. And don't be scared to ask the clerk who's shopping, or like the who works there. Like, that's why they're there. Yeah, it's okay for it. I will absolutely help you out.
SPEAKER_01It's okay, then, to ask for help. It is okay.
unknownYou can do it. Okay. As we find a way.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Um oh, here's a really helpful tool here. Uh get a color analysis. What? Did you just hear something? Yeah. I don't know who's in the Hello? That's weird. I I just I heard get a color analysis. I must be having that on the brain. But yeah, actually, wouldn't it be nice if you wore clothes in a color that suits your actual features? Yes. If you're like a super light pale blonde and you're wearing black every day, we might want to consider a light brown.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Or a light gray.
SPEAKER_03Um, you know, just just just say it. If you want people to see you and think, wow, they're really put together, wouldn't it be nice to know what you're supposed to be wearing? Just saying. Okay. That was commercial for an afternoon with Amy. Um, I got one more. Do you want to list it? So, not too much hair product? Yeah, not not not too much hair. There was a real gap there, but why don't you read that again?
SPEAKER_04We're gonna we're gonna not use too much products on your hair. Okay. So not too much hair products. Um, you know, again, this is not we're not using tons of gel, we're not using tons of spray, we're not making it stand up like we don't need to look like spike.
SPEAKER_03That's true.
SPEAKER_04We're we're not doing that.
SPEAKER_03So if your hair looks wet, it might have too much hair product.
SPEAKER_04Just I mean, that goes honestly, that goes for men and women.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_04That goes for both. Um, again, you don't need too much. And then the one thing we don't have on the list is skin. Oh, yeah. That seems like the like most obvious. Go on. Skin care. Like, guys, wash your face. If you're gonna like take care of your beard, you're gonna do all those things, like it it's not on here, but you need to be washing your face in the morning and the night, just like a woman does. If your wife, your girlfriend, your significant other, whatever you want to call them, is in the bathroom and you're like, what are they doing? Why are they doing that? They're doing it for a reason. Okay? And that reason is they're trying to get rid of all the crap from the day. Or take off whatever happened, you know, from the nighttime. Like you're sleeping in it, you're rolling in your drool. Who knows? I'll know what y'all do, but there's lots of people that drool. There's lots of people, you know, your hair, y it's just dead skin cells, all of it. Wash it. It's true. Wash your face.
SPEAKER_03It's true. And shaving is good too, because it it's foliates.
SPEAKER_04So make sure that you're washing your face. Make sure that you're using moisturizers. Okay? Because again, like we talk about looking at men, we were talking about Botox, we were talking about fillers. If you're using moisturizer, that's gonna help with those fine lens and wrinkles. It's gonna help to add the moisture back into the skin that you're los you're losing over time as you age. Sunscreen. Sunscreen is meant for everybody, it is not just meant for women.
SPEAKER_03That's true. And if you are a beard wearer and you're not shaving, you still need to get in there and exfoliate. It probably honestly would feel good too.
SPEAKER_04Like so men forget about exfoliating except for on the the lower half of their face. So they forget about that part of it. The other thing that they forget about is moisturizer because a lot of men are like, I don't need moisturizer. If you have skin, you need moisturizer. That's true. Just just so you know. It's true. It's not a secret. But if you think it is, okay. Um all these things that we do, you can do too. And you should. These are basic things that you guys should be doing on a regular basis because it's going to help you now and in the future. That's right. Right? And you want us to age well, so we want you to age well.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, if you see your ladies starting to look a lot younger than you, you need to catch up just a little bit.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04There are many things that you can do that are anti-aging that are going to help you, um, and that if you haven't started yet, it is a always a good time to start.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. One thing I'll add that's not on here, and this is just this is nothing to do with appearance, but women like a decisive man. Okay. We need you to be certain of the things that you want and like in life. I guess women don't like a man who's afraid of commitment. That's a red flag in our world, is it not? It is. And that also goes for women. You know what I'm talking about. Sometimes when you're in a relationship, somebody has to go first and you have to take a leap of faith. Because it's not magic that you guys are brought together. Like it's there, there's something there. So you need to figure it out the whole way and commit. Anyway, that's I'm a traditionalist. I'm sorry, what can I say? Um, did we solve anything? I think I think that was a pretty good list. World peace. World peace. I don't know about that. This uh this year is really something. Uh get in the comments if you want us to talk about the things going on in the world and if you want our actual opinions. Or we can keep that separate. Yeah. Um, we can do a conspiracy podcast.
SPEAKER_04That would be kind of fun. Uh yeah, let us know if you have anything that you would like us to talk about that is outside of the realm of you know, beauty and fitness.
SPEAKER_03We are the files of the beauty, and we all know about some files recently. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04We could talk about those files. We have lots of things that we could talk about. Um, if you guys are open to it and you would be interested in You have to let us know though, otherwise we're not doing it.
SPEAKER_03So go on our Instagram, uh the Beauty Files Pod and let us know. I mean, uh honestly, otherwise we're not doing it. So uh that's your homework. And I will say we did have um someone email us and they had a lot of good suggestions. So we're gonna pepper those in. Um in fact, I'll show you after we're done recording um for the next uh upcoming episodes. But um I think that's it. Men, I hope this was helpful, helpful. And if it wasn't, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_04All right, guys, that was the beauty files, beauty files and case clubs.
