SPEAKER_01

Welcome to the Beauty Files. It's episode 16. We have lots to talk about. We've had a lot of events, a lot of uh loops we have to close, like the wedding that you finally went to.

SPEAKER_00

The wedding.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so this is gonna be more one of those um coffee chat. Well, today it's coffee for us because it is actually in the morning. Yes. I mean, who's to say? We could be having like bloody Marys or something.

SPEAKER_00

Or I mean you could I would not be drinking that because I would prefer mimosa. Um you can have your bloody Mary. I don't really do Bloody Marys.

SPEAKER_01

I used to, as you know. Um, and then I bloody married a little too hard. Yeah, this episode is uh is sponsored by coffee, not of the alcoholic uh.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, there's no Bailey's or anything, you know.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's um not all mornings call for it. No. And I don't I think I'm done with day drinking. It's just not fun. No. Like you're I don't know, it sounds like it's gonna be fun.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, unless you're like relaxing at the beach and you're just gonna randomly have like a drink. That's a very different that's not even day drink.

SPEAKER_01

That's like that's like that's the whole I mean that is the point, right? When you're laying out, you need to have like your little coconut filled with something.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know. Can we go there? Because guys, this weather lately, I'm not sure if uh I'm sure everybody would agree with me that the beginning of the week was beautiful and very hot.

SPEAKER_01

So this is we are on Memorial Day weekend right now. So yeah, so everyone can recall we had like the my gosh, it was like 90. 100, yeah. Well, like your car was a hundred. Yes. And then it has crashed into a big puddle, and we're still getting the rain from it, like the splash.

SPEAKER_00

Still the splash, still the rain, the cold. So you go from a hundred to fifty and rainy. The Lowe's are in the 40s.

SPEAKER_01

We went out last night, and I must have stood in my closet with just my undergarments on, ready to get dressed, had no absolutely no clue what to wear. I wore what I wore on Christmas.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

A sweater dress with boots. Because it's apparently we're back in November and December now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so I, you know, the we were talking about the the lovely wedding. Mm-hmm. So I don't know if y'all remember the whole dress code fiasco, like I was not gonna go to this. And at the beginning of the week, it was like, oh, the dress will be fine because super appropriate for a May wedding. It's gonna be warm, at least 70. You almost saw the bride's vision for just a minute. Just a hot second. Just a hot second. Just a hot second. And then we get this weather.

SPEAKER_01

And not only did you like a tsunami. It was yeah, it was I it's funny. So that's what I was doing. That's actually what prompted me to text you because I'm in my closet not knowing what to wear. I thought, oh my gosh, Rachel knows what she's wearing, and it is the absolute worst outfit for the what yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And and I put a cute jean jacket over top of it because what else was I going to do?

SPEAKER_01

I have to say, okay, so you're all wondering, Rachel was between this floral dress that we had in the show notes a couple episodes ago, or she was just gonna say, Screw it, I'm wearing black. She she did the noble thing. She wore the floral dress. And look hot, by the way.

SPEAKER_00

Like I didn't get it hemmed, y'all. So this dress was like a foot too long. Yeah. And I had to hold it up the entire time. I will say I only had one person step on it once. Oh gosh. Just one time. It didn't even it didn't even like rip it or do anything like that, which was nice.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, it that was surprising given how long it was for someone to step on it once.

SPEAKER_00

Only once, but I literally was holding it up the whole time, which is really annoying.

SPEAKER_01

Did you like nod it? You ever see when girls would do that? This is like maybe even like homecoming prom or whatever, but like at some point when we're dancing, you would take like the corn, like not the corner, it's round. The side hem.

SPEAKER_00

I have seen that pull it. No. I didn't do anything like that. It is a look. I even tried because you could see the top of it was like corseted. Oh, yeah. So I was trying to like see if I could tuck it up and maybe pin it, but that looked ridiculous. Oh, that would have added some volume that you didn't want. And honestly, it didn't matter because I mean so we get to this wedding. It is fucking raining sideways, pardon my French. Like literally sun uh tsunami, sanui, sanui. Tsunui tsunui, tsunami weather.

SPEAKER_01

A big old name.

SPEAKER_00

My hair looked so good. And it didn't. I mean, it didn't fully like flatten and go ko-poo. Um, I had thought about putting it up for a second, but I also I don't know how many of y'all deal with like severe sinus headaches and this weather. Like I've been struggling the last three days really bad. So I did not put my hair up just because of the fact that my head was just pounding. Um so we get there, I'm holding this dress up. We got an umbrella over us. At one point, I'm holding the umbrella, the umbrella almost takes off. I got I'm like holding on for dear life to the umbrella, to my dress. My hair is just This is a situation. You're now in a situation. We get in there and thank God it was able to be indoors, quote unquote, but it was in a t so it wasn't a barn, so there were separate buildings. They had the ceremony inside um this cute little area, um, and then there was a tent and it had all the sides down.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So it was very, very compact in the ceremony area. Yeah. Um, I will also say I've never been to a ceremony quite like the one that I was at. Oh. And by the way, y'all, I almost brought that black dress with me, and I absolutely could have changed because while I followed the rules, there were a lot of other people that did not follow the rules, and then I felt stupid. And I spoke to several other people who thought it was the most ridiculous dress code they had ever seen. So I was not the only one. Most people that were attending it thought it was a little outrageous as well.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

So I understood the assignments and that I essentially followed through. Yeah. And um there were people that wore dresses that were only to their knees. I mean, nothing thankfully nobody wore like a mini skirt or anything like that. But um, I mean, I mean, my dress was way longer, so you probably could have given your ham to somebody. I was thinking that.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, I could have just like do you remember that trend? It was a jean skirt and then it had like fabric on the vision I just got.

SPEAKER_00

Well, they do that a lot with shorts, which it can look cute on certain shorts, especially like if you have cowboy boots on and the appropriate top. That's true. It could work. Um and she looked nice, but alright guys, I found out something that I thought was very interesting. We got some juice, some gas. And don't get me wrong, the bride was she was cute. Now, would I did I necessarily picture her for him? No. But the little sister I did. Oh, interesting. So come to find out, he actually asked the little sister help first before he asked the older one who he is now married to. Oh wow. And she turned him down.

SPEAKER_01

And so yeah. Oh, I bet I bet that's that's probably a hot button issue with those sisters.

SPEAKER_00

I I don't know, but um, I would say that I found that very, very interesting, and I found that out on the wedding day. That that was something, and I even saw I was like, oh, I was like, she's cute. Huh.

SPEAKER_01

That's stuff you hear like long ago, like our our great-grandparents, right? In fact, I mine in particular, she was married to one brother, right? He died, she married the brother. Like, that's like just what you did. It was like, oh well, let's bounce it around. I don't know. I feel like that was pretty common.

SPEAKER_00

You don't hear that nowadays. No. Um, and so I think his little brother now, the groom's little brother, actually is into the little sister too, which is funny. It is very interesting. I will say the food was very good. Oh, good, which I was I was happy about. I couldn't dance because let me just tell you that if I would have attempted, it would have I would have either ended up on my face or the dress definitely would have been torn and ripped to pieces because we made a good choice. You know, you made a good choice. Um and the alcohol, they had a lot of that flowing, but it just they had like those specialty drinks. Oh, yeah. None of them were very good. I had a drink and that was it, and they had coffee, and I was really happy about the coffee because we were in the tents and they had the heaters, like the heating all around us, but like I said, it was a tsunami outside, and I thought at a couple of times I thought the tent might fly away. Um very cold, and then walking out of there, leaving, I think was even worse than coming in because the wind had just picked up as the night went on.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So I heard it howling like that spooky, which I love that sound anyway, but um yeah, it was it was not great weather to be out in. And that is the worst situation is when you're all dressed up, super nice, in a dress, and you're cold.

unknown

Oh, yeah, it was a brilliant.

SPEAKER_01

And you're I mean, a tent is still very vulnerable.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, I uh it it's done. It happened. Um if I would wear the dress again. Um, it was very itchy. I was so itchy. Oh, really? I was so itchy. That makes me sad. I loved the dress. I really genuinely loved it. It just if I I would wear it again, and that's the only reason I was like, okay, if I'm gonna have to get something like this, I need to wear it again. Um, but man, I had to be tightly, tightly cinched into that thing because if not, everyone was gonna see the girls.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and well, they were already on display in an appropriate manner, but they did look a little um un unsecured, unfastened.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and I didn't even have I didn't have anything underneath. Like they were just like commando.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was commando, and so what you saw was you know that's something that we need to talk about in terms of like what's acceptable for undergarments for dresses, because sometimes guys just don't wear anything. Like I don't it's it's more offensive to see your whole thong layout than than or your bra.

SPEAKER_00

Like I couldn't because it was um corset in the back. Right, right, right. You can't really wear like pasties, that's fine.

SPEAKER_01

I could have put pasties on, but I was already like But some dresses you can see the pasty circle, so it I don't know what to do for that because that's well, like what do we do? I I didn't have pasty, so it was just you're well, you had texture though, yeah. You're fine, and you know what? Whatever. But yeah, I just when in doubt, just don't wear anything like bottom half. Yeah, I don't want to see it. I don't want to see that little that little T. We don't need to see that. No, that's more distracting. We want to see the dress. Am I right? Yeah. So we have Okay, so let's let's go chronological here. We had our event on Friday, yep, and it was really nice. It was really nice actually. Um, but it did rain because that's the theme of the week. Yep. Um the rain increased as it went on, which is a bummer. We did we were not outside. No, which we were able to be inside, which was nice.

SPEAKER_00

Really grateful for.

SPEAKER_01

I was supposed to be outside as as we discussed, because we have a tent and everything, but I just kept checking the weather and I'm like, oh I'm just envisioning all like the drapes just yeah, flying away, and no one wants to sit in a chair and stare at themselves anyway. So add like wind and being cold and uh it would have would have been a very different outcome. So um, yeah, it was really it was a good time. So whoever came out, thank you. Thank you for supporting. Um, Rachel's gonna have another event.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you say September? Yeah, we're gonna do one in September where it's gonna be very similar to that.

SPEAKER_01

And yeah, I liked that. It was not appointments, right? It was just first come, first served, and then yeah, I think I think that would be a good way to go. Yeah, is it gonna be similar to theirs or they had other like outside vendors? Okay, and you have decent parking because there's the top side and then that side parking. There's the top, the bottom, and then the the side parking. Yeah, I think that would be cool. Yeah, yeah, I would like that. Um yeah, so the event was great. I so I had a funeral to go to that morning, and it was like extra glary outside. It wasn't quite rainy, but it wasn't sunny, just had that that glare. Yeah. And of course, I got my beautiful um one eyeball headache at noon. So I took three Advil like immediately. I didn't do anything. So I'm like, okay. Now it's two o'clock, and it takes it takes me 40 minutes to get to Blossom. So I took another three and then I had a headache until um like 10 o'clock at night, and it just kept getting worse and worse. And then I really I I did myself dirty. We got to the event, had no water, no food. Yep. I I don't know what I like what was I what did I do? Why do I do this? I had no plan whatsoever other than to just suffer. And then some some one of the like, I guess I'll call them clients. I don't know what else to say. One of the people I did a an analysis to, she went and got me an like an alcoholic beverage. Oh god. Which I was like so grateful for, but also you want to talk like I was already parched. Yeah. Alcohol that didn't help. I took like three sips. It was delicious, by the way. It was like a grapefruit crush type thing. Couldn't couldn't drink it. Absolutely just could not. So anyway, so then after all that, okay, as you know, I get home, it's probably eight o'clock now, and headache is is going strong. I go my go in the house, and I I just want a hug from my cat pastry, okay. Um I'm looking for her. And she comes down the stairs and she has something in her mouth, and then she drops it. And it looked like um calamari, like the little legs. Oh, you know the ones I'm like, what the heck is that? And I approach it. Is it a mouse? We had a baby bird massacre in our house. So remember when I told you on Easter we had a bird in the house? Yeah. Because those little flaps that she can access and open. Well, we didn't learn. We just closed them and well, she opened them again. And instead she got out all the babies that had j I mean, when I say they just hatched, they were like seconds old. They were I was so pissed. I was so mad at her. Anyway, so I had to I had to clean that up. Mind you, still headache the whole day I just had. Now I have a flashlight and I'm scoping the entire house. There's drops of blood. I mean it was I feel like I was in a horror movie because I'm I have the flashlight and I'm following these drops of blood. I'm like waiting for like, you know, the scene where you like start panning upward and there's like a monster on the ceiling. I mean, that is basically what happened. Anyway, I only found one bird. I think the rest were consumed. I I don't know. Like horrible. I'm so upset with her. I I locked her in the basement. I was so so mad. And then I chugged a bunch of water, and then I like um chlor like what's the brand? Clorat, Clorox. Just bleached everywhere. Like I it was like a murder scene. And then where the in the fireplace where all the the access to the birds are was disgusting debris from a net. I was so not in the mood to clean that up. And anyway, so that's when family they were in the the barn, they came down, they're like, oh, what happened? Anyway, and then the next day I forgave pastry because I understand she's I mean she's an animal and that's her instinct. But the I mean when I say like seconds old, like oh it was so devastating. That's so sad. But that was my day. That was that was the event, and and the baby bird massacre. Um but it's it's fine, I guess. I mean it is what it is. We have um we had, I should say, it's probably past tense, um, baby goslings like in the pond. Yeah, and then like the same week we saw two baby foxes. And I'm like, well, they have to eat there. Yeah, we haven't seen the goslings since. And now I'm like, who am I mad at? Because the the foxes are precious, little babies, and then the goslings are precious little babies. I don't know, I could never be one of those like wildlife photographers because they're not allowed to get involved in in nature, and I would I would get involved. You can't kill this person because they're cute, not person, that's wrong word. You can't kill this animal. But I would get involved, and I don't know how they can just watch the circle of life happen. I don't know. It's a job that I I couldn't do.

SPEAKER_00

I yeah, I don't know. I feel like unfortunately, that's just it's part of nature. Just kind of like, you know, we eat certain things and um I know, but I don't think about it.

SPEAKER_01

Now, your man hunts, so I guess that is kind of a different story because you eat a lot of the things. I go hunting at the grocery store. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I provide for my I don't I don't particularly watch, I don't want to see it.

SPEAKER_01

Like it doesn't do all the processing of stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so correct. But I think it's been going on for so long that it's like whatever to me. But um You'll appreciate this.

SPEAKER_01

I went, I was in high school and I was dating a guy, and they whole family no, not whole family, just him, because he had sisters, just he and his dad. They were like avid hunters, same thing. And they had me over for dinner, and we're having venison stew or something or other. And I'm, you know, I'm like 15 and I'm like standing in their kitchen and we're all eating this venison, and one of the sisters was like, Oh man, you should have been here like two hours ago. This whole place was filled with deer guts and blood, and and the mom the mom just was like, That's not something we talk about. And then, yeah, apparently they do it on the front, the front yard is where they like gut it and all that, and then they take it in, and then yeah, apparently the whole and I just I wasn't really hungry after that, and I was like forcing it down. I was like, I don't think I want to be with this family. I could just oh we didn't have much we call it. I wasn't ready for that. You're not. I wasn't ready to see how the sausage is made, if you will. I do really enjoy venison bologna, though. Yeah. In fact, your man brought us some and it was good. It was delicious.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, you just mustard Yeah, you just can't like you can't really think about it. You can't really like you just gotta put it past you. And if you can't, then I get why people are vegetarians. I get why people I don't get the vegan portion of it, like the whole like I can't eat the egg and I can't drink the milk and I can't like that part is a little excessive to me. Um because I feel like it's in everything. So like the amount of Things that you would not be able to eat.

SPEAKER_01

You could have potato chips. I mean, it it's one of the Yeah, I have I have never seen a healthy looking vegan. Sorry. So sorry if that offends you, but you're probably not healthy.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, vegetarians, okay. Like you there's a lot of things that you can still eat. Um and and proteins and things like that that you can uh a vegan I think is very different, and then to that point is raw. Then you have the people that do all the raw diets. You want to talk about like an intense way of just eating um nightmare. That is uh I mean that's a lot of legumes. I hate legumes. That's a lot of legumes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you're gonna you're gonna be gassy, just FYI. I mean, you're and if you're in denial, everyone knows we don't want to be around you. Um There was something I was gonna say about oh, I always find pescatarian a funny diet because it's like no animals but fish. I was gonna say fish is okay. Yep I don't like fish that much that I couldn't commit full time to fish. Oh no. Even like be you know, because your jaw is very important, like to to keep it working. That's why like steak is great, and you know, but fish are just Yeah, it's like a liquid diet.

SPEAKER_00

It just I I mean I eat a lot, I eat a lot of chicken, I'm not gonna lie. I really like chicken. Um you know, the steak and stuff. I don't eat as much of like beef. I love beef. I mean, I probably should eat more. I mean, um, but I grew up on a lot of chicken.

SPEAKER_01

Chicken's fine. Chicken, chicken, there's a lot to do with chicken. Yeah, and I will say I just don't I can't do dry chicken. Oh well, I don't I don't trust anyone that can. Dry ch I mean, really? Like, who are we? It's like chewing gum at that point.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you want to talk about jaw working? I mean, forget about steak. Like, and it's also like to that point, I can't do well done. Thank you. Thank you so much. I really appreciate that.

SPEAKER_01

We we were dining, you know, our our child has friends. As every child should. But lately we've gotten to an age now where we can take child and friend to dinner, and on two separate occasions, two different children, we've all ordered steak. We all get medium rare except the friend. The friend will get now. The one friend got medium well, and I I did savage I did convince her to try it, and she, as the kids say, she housed it. She she ate, we got it, she got it medium rare. I was I was very impressed because I thought start with medium at least. And then we took her out a separate time and she got it done medium rare. I was like, I converted her. It was very exciting. Second child, no, well done. The the server even came back to double check and say medium well, and she went, no, well done. And I knew there was no there was no convincing of that child. And and look, she ate it, she enjoyed it, it's fine. But just knowing what she could have.

SPEAKER_00

But there's no flavor too. There's no like what are we doing? And the texture, like I mean it's like chewing gum.

SPEAKER_01

It is I remember that's how we got our child to have medium rare. I mean, very young, because I'm like, it's pink, and sh that would that's all it took. It was like princess steak.

SPEAKER_00

There is a difference though, like between a medium rare and rare. Oh yeah, it's actually kind of amazing the difference between like the fact that there is no in-between that I I feel like there should be an in-between rare and medium rare because there's like blue or something, that's like it's like on there for five seconds and oh god.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't which is interesting because I love I love pate, and that's well, depending on where you go. Oh, not pate, I'm sorry. Tartare, um, beef tartar. That's rare. And I love it. And even like certain ground beefs, like if you get a really expensive ground beef, I could smell that raw and like I could eat it raw. I don't, but I could. But not that's not every time. No, I can't. It makes me wonder if that's related to like your cycle or something when you're like craving.

SPEAKER_00

It is, it means you're low in certain things. It's like cable iron and like with ice chips and stuff like that when you just want to eat ice chips.

SPEAKER_01

Cause it's in steak, it's one of the foods that has every nutrient and amino acid you could possibly need. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's why you gotta have more of it. I should eat more of it. I need more protein in my diet too, but we all do, to be honest.

SPEAKER_01

Even I've been like I don't know. I don't know what kind of phase I'm in. I'm just not I'm just not taking care of myself. I I feel it.

SPEAKER_00

Like, um no wonder I'm getting crazy headaches and do you know what I dehydration? Um, I was talking to um the nurse practitioner at work, and I was just saying, like, how when I'm super, super stressed, I feel it in my calves. It's like I've worked out for days. You get cramps from days and days. But I drink I think it's because I just drink even less, but like my I do. I feel it like it's in my calves, and my calves, I'm like, that's a huge sign of dehydration, right? Why, yeah. And I'm like, why do my legs hurt so bad? But when my stress levels get so high, that's what happens to me. Oh my gosh. It's so bad. And then I'm like terrible, and then I'm like, I can't move my legs, they hurt so bad.

SPEAKER_01

So when I'm dehydrated, oh god, first of all, I see it in my forehead. I'm like, oh yeah, my veins start like I get like the crepey skin. Yeah, I gotta work on that. Um, but I'll get like racing heart, um, which I don't care for. That blows my mind that dehydration can cause that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't like that. So I need to I need to work on that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I um I'm definitely uh should need to drink like a gallon of water today. You need to be like soaked.

SPEAKER_01

You need to just hang out in a tub of water for like 40 minutes. Just let your skin absorb it and just marinate yourself. I kind of wish it I that's what I need. I need like an IV constant just at my house and make sure that I if I'm I just we're gonna have those at work soon. So oh thank you. Can you just hurry up with all these things? I need that's what I need. Oh, can we announce me? I'm gonna be there. Yeah, which is really exciting. It is very exciting.

SPEAKER_00

We're we're figuring out how that's gonna be. But you're um we're gonna be painting that room and uh getting that one ready, so I'm really excited. Oh, the things, all the things.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be good though. Yeah. And then one more you know I keep envisioning what at one of these events is you know how they used to have like radio stations that were there live?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna have to podcast somehow. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We're gonna have to have a beauty files station or we could be walking around with the mics that's true and our phones. See, that's a great idea. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like we're gonna have to start doing things. We have to we say that at least every other episode.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we have to do the video. What's what's going on with that? Until we get there, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Nothing, nothing is going on because we haven't had that thing. Uh time. That's what that's what it is. Time.

SPEAKER_00

That is um time is a thief, you know. I know. It really is.

SPEAKER_01

I don't enjoy the thievery of time. I don't either. Yeah, it's it's kind of bananas to me that I know everybody I I ebb and flow with with the expression of everyone saying, Oh, I can't believe it's already May. I'll be honest, this year I actually feel like it's at an appropriate pace. Like, I'm not really surprised it's May. I am surprised at the weather. Like it's kind of like we're still in winter, apparently. Which I know I normally love. But I am like, all right, let's let's wrap this up. I I do think I'm I used to think that I wasn't in a great area in the world because of all the we get all the seasons, because I used to think, oh, I would love to be just somewhere that's cold and rainy. And I I think I've changed my mind about that. I think I enjoy the cold and wet because it's the it's the perfect amount that we get. Yeah. Now that it's leaking into this season, I'm like, okay. Like I I think I'm ready for a little bit of something. Yeah. Like warmth. But it's not here yet. No. And I I don't even know when it's coming. I haven't even looked. I don't want to look. Well, I keep looking and I keep I'm I'm at like a I'm at war with myself because I am happy that it's raining, but I'm also kind of like, alright, like can we can we?

SPEAKER_00

I think I saw like we have a couple days at the beginning of the week where it's to like rain and storms, and then it gets a little bit this is the weather segment of the beauty files.

SPEAKER_01

Um oh yeah, no, we're cloudy and rainy up until Wednesday. Yeah. Thursday, it gets nice. Nice-ish. Ish. Yeah, I would say 70. Yeah. Yeah, actually Thursday, 78. Okay. That's gonna be pretty nice. So guys, we just have to get by the next time we record, yeah, we should be talking about beautiful weather. In fact, when you guys are listening to this, you're gonna be like, oh yeah, I forgot we had that bad weather. Because you're gonna be you're gonna be living it up in the 80s. The tsunami weather will be over, you know, where craziness. Um yeah, so we do have a lot of things we have to do. It's it's fine. Um, oh, I have a funny story. Um so I was at the gas station, and yeah, I know, insert gas is five thousand dollars a gallon. Yeah, million whatever. Really wild. Anyway, um I'm pumping gas and I see a guy walk and he goes, Hey. And I go, hey. And he's like, Do you remember me?

SPEAKER_00

Which is the worst question. Cause Yeah. Like, um, no, no, sorry.

SPEAKER_01

And so I just I give him a look and I and I just was I threw my hands up like I don't know who you are. And then he goes, you know, York. And I say, York's a big place. Like I I don't know like what you're trying to say. And then he starts whispering something. And I'm like, oh my god, I'm gonna get robbed or something. Like this is a distraction. I go, what? And he goes, you know, York. What? And I'm just yelling, what a hundred times. And he goes, York rehab. I'm like, what? I said, I don't he's like, really? This fit you don't remember me? York, you're York rehab. I I'm like stunned at this point, and I'm like, this is it. I'm getting in the back of a van or something like this. I'm turning around. And he goes, Oh, I get it. Now that I'm close, you can see you're not interested. Like he was like, you don't remember me now, or something. And I was like, no, dude, I really I don't. So clearly I look like I was I'm a recovering addict because I I I give off addict vibes. I I was I mean, driving your car. What were you driving? I was I was not in my car, but I was in a Mercedes like sedan. I mean, you know, I but I did I had I did look a little homely, I'm not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_00

Um you looked homely.

SPEAKER_01

You never look homely, so I had a like an oversized jean jacket on, um jeans, maybe. How is that homely? I don't know. I will I'm I'm trying to I'm trying to see myself from someone else's perspective.

SPEAKER_00

Did you say to him, sorry, sir? Like I think you have me confused. Yes, of course I did.

SPEAKER_01

But then that's when he said, Oh, well, now that I'm close, you don't remember me. It was something like I got a good look at.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, no, dude, I'm I would have been like my child was in the car. Like I'm just like, dude, you're out of line here. Like, go go back to rehab. I would have been like, dude, I've never been in rehab. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was it was really weird.

SPEAKER_00

It was a very brief exchange, but like I no. Maybe he was on something again.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. He did he did look. He looked he looked the he looked the part, you know. He wasn't like crack skinny or anything. Like he was a nor He looked like honestly, he looked like someone I probably could know because I'm in construction and that's what the vibe you I got. He had like hair to his shoulders and a beanie on. Uh-huh. But it was very, I was not I I got in the car and I I googled York rehab and I'm like, okay, that is what I thought. Like, it is a rehab facility. But I'm just like, who did he think I was? I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, I would have said, What is my name?

SPEAKER_01

Honestly, I didn't even want to engage at that point. I was just like, dude, I don't know you. I'm sorry. Like, this isn't appropriate. Like, get away from me. Thankfully, we had the car in between. It's not like he ever came around. But it was like, don't do that. Don't approach a woman at a gas station. She's vulnerable anyway.

SPEAKER_00

When are you due? Yeah. I mean, it's like, oh, hi, you're a crackhead.

SPEAKER_01

Thanks. The the word I mean, those are yes, okay. That is a bad thing to say. That or when I was pregnant, someone asked me if they was having twins. You don't you don't do that either. Um, you really, in fact, it was an old man that said that to me, and I said, I think you're old enough to know never to say that to a woman. I will I was at Walmart and I will never forget it. And he just had that jackass kind of smile and walked away. And I was like, Why do people feel that they can just say these things to people?

SPEAKER_00

Do you know what I feel like? Because I wasn't very big when I was pregnant. People would be like, you know, at 24 weeks, I still was not even really showing it. Like, yeah, I'm not so sure you're pregnant. That's even that's worse for you.

SPEAKER_01

You're like, wait, what? Apparently you have to be the perfect amount of of belly for people to either think, okay, yeah, I guess she's pregnant, or I guess there's only one in there. I just, good lord.

SPEAKER_00

You know, I at this wedding that we were at, there were a couple of women there that were clearly pregnant. Um, you're not gonna still not gonna walk over and be like, hey, when are you due? How are you feeling? Like, I don't know these people, but it was very clear. The one girl was young and her husband was in the bridal party. And that girl was out there and I was like, Good for you. She was dancing her butt off. I mean jumping up and down. If you had to guess, how far along was she? She was probably seven, eight months pregnant. Yeah. Like she was pregnant, and um she was, and the reason I say that is because she was younger and from behind she looked very petite. So she was really just all she was really just all belly, so and boobs.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, good for her.

SPEAKER_00

You know, like she was just belly and boobs, but girl was getting after it. Getting after it.

SPEAKER_01

I went I went to a wedding. I was one I was ten days from giving birth. Because I'm pretty sure it was it was mid-October. It was a Greek wedding. And we didn't know the people very well, and I really didn't want to go. Let's let's be honest. It was like I went because it was like an employee, uh, it was their son or some or daughter. So we just went to go. But man, you want to talk miserable. I was the size of this table. I mean, it was it was just I just remember sitting there, I must have had 18 ginger alecause that's all I could I couldn't. It was miserable.

SPEAKER_00

I absolutely miserable. I I remember um you know, COVID when I was pregnant. Oh so I didn't really go anywhere, wasn't, you know, with my daughter with my son. Um we went a bunch of places, but I was just we did go to a wedding, and I remember, you know, I have I MSS, so I throw up all the time. I'm just sick the entire time. I remember we had to go, it was in New York, and we had to drive up, and I remember having to have the car pulled over several times. Oh well, no, this was before this was right before everything got locked down. I was just like puking and puking and puking, and like we pulled the car over several times, and I remember being at that wedding, and everyone's like, Oh, you should just dance, and I was like, I just want to die. Like, I don't want to be here. I'm miserable. And then again at that wedding, people are like, Oh, you're pregnant. Oh, because I had no stomach, and I was like, I just don't feel good, I want to go lay it down. Like, and people were like, What do you mean? Wow. People are great, aren't they?

SPEAKER_01

I love people, love it. Um yeah, I feel like yeah, god, there's so many stories with pregnancy, like just in general. Like the that'd be a funny uh episode we can do is like the things that they actually don't tell you. Oh, we shouldn't do that. Yeah, I'm gonna make a note because that'll be fun. There were some there were some one, two, three. Yeah, three separate events that I would have been like, this would have been really nice to know. And I'm not even gonna tell any of you. Nope. We're gonna leave that for another episode. There's lots of things that there are lots of things, but um.

SPEAKER_00

So well, I mean, I I'm sorry that somebody uh thought that you were a recovering cat.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it really it really stayed with me the rest of the day. I really was looking. I'm like, do I need filler? Do I have like really dramatic loss of volume where I just look gaunt and like sickly? Like it really now, of course, if we're out of recovery, that means I'm in or not out of recovery. If I'm out of rehab, I must be in recovery, right? So that maybe that means I look good. Don't you wish you could like give people a post-meeting survey and be like, what what made you think these things? Like, right, why did you think I was that person? Like, what about me as giving off those product vibes?

SPEAKER_00

Or maybe we want something right. It's like that's true.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, not it didn't ask me for anything. That's a different story. Hey, man, you got something. That's different. Yeah. That means I'm giving off seller vibes. Yeah. And that's that's a whole other speaking of drugs.

SPEAKER_00

Um, okay. Yeah. Speaking of, y'all, let's just go there. Um, so my neighbor had a I don't know if I talked about this the last time. Um, somebody came s oh, you didn't talk about it on the podcast. Yeah, so it was like 11 30 at night. Um, and this guy came running down the hill past my house and went to my neighbor's house. And they saw him running because their dog started barking and saw it from outside the window. And he ran and started pounding on their door, pounding, saying, and he had no shirt on, no shoes. Classic. Um, he did have like a 22 with him.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you didn't know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he had a gun with him, like, and he's pounding on their door, and they like open the door. And mind you, I am the only person that has a ring camera in the neighborhood. Mm-hmm. And there were like four seconds where it didn't pick this up, or four minutes where it didn't pick this up.

SPEAKER_01

That's frightening.

SPEAKER_00

But it picked up when all the cops started appearing. So he bangs on the door and he's like, Let me in, let me in. Somebody's chasing me, somebody's chasing me. Hurry up, let me in. And they were like, No. Okay. So they have like their main door, and then they have like a storm.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And so they opened it, he made him stay outside, and they were on the phone with 911 before he even got to their house because they saw him running, so she called immediately. Right. And um he paced back and forth apparently on their front porch and was like hiding behind like the bushes. And then before the cops got there, he took off, right? Mm-hmm. He he apparently had called 911. Okay, so that's right.

SPEAKER_01

He told me that, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He had apparently called 911, but when he was running, he quote unquote lost his phone, and that's what he like so 911 dispatch said yes, we were on the phone with somebody and then we lost them. So he said he he dropped it, and um, so the cops came and all of a sudden on the ring camera, I just see my ring camera going off and it's going off. Well, they were searching for him. Three cop cars, they're searching all around. You can see them walking around, I can see that clear as day. Never find this guy. And he claims that he was coming from somewhere else and like an area where it was not possible. Okay. And because, especially with him running down a hill through the woods, like it none of it added up. Right. And again, he only said that he knocked on the door because they're Lights were on, and they were the only one that had lights on. Guys, keep your doors and your garages closed and locked, please. Mm-hmm. You never know. Anyways, two days later, our other neighbor who knows somebody um that knows the cops that like, you know, around the area, said, Hey, so we got a little information on the visitor that our neighbors had.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He was in the hospital because he was high and paranoid and like losing his mind. Wow. Off of, I don't know. But yeah. So I mean, you can get psychosis from weed, even. But I'm sure it was something more than that. And this is my my perspective. If somebody is truly chasing you and you are that fearful, if you knock on the door and somebody doesn't let you in, you're darty. You're gone. You're not gonna sit and pace. You're not gonna hide either that or you're gonna push your way into that house. Yeah you know what I mean? Like if you're that terrified when somebody I mean he did flee. He did, but he apparently paced on their front front porch for a couple of minutes and was like hiding before he took off again. And if somebody's truly chasing you, like uh I'm I'm out of there. Yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's don't get don't get in a situation you're being chased by somebody. Or nobody. That's also not a good situation to be in, running from no one, which means No shoes, no shirt. Which means, yeah, you're probably on something. That's a shame. Yeah, that's a shame. That's exciting. I'm glad that you could give us that intel because that that's alarming.

SPEAKER_00

Because it's not like you're you're not living in like York City No, we live in a really nice area, so for something like that to happen, it was kind of alarming. Yeah, you know, and you're like, how, why, what? And so again, guys, don't do drugs. Like this is just just don't do drugs, don't do drugs, because again, you never know.

SPEAKER_01

I don't care for the feeling of complete loss of control anyway. Um, I had a cookie by accident and ate the whole thing because I didn't know. It's like it's just classic. You want to talk like how can I word this? So I'm I'm laughing, hysterically laughing, but I'm saying aloud, mid-breath of laughter, that I nothing is funny. I'm aware that nothing is funny, I don't like this, and then I remember like the whole rest of the night, I was convinced that like I was poisoned and she were trying to kill me, because paranoia. Yeah. And then the next day I had no feeling in my legs, I couldn't walk. This was years ago, but I remember like my husband called the people and was like, What what did you do? Like, why did you give that to her? It's like, man, I didn't know she was gonna eat the whole thing, and you know, it's my fault, obviously. Was it?

SPEAKER_00

Was it I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Um, that was I I mean, again, it was by accident, but I will never choose to do something like that. I don't know why people choose. I mean, I have control issues anyway, but no, absolutely not.

SPEAKER_00

That's uh to me, that's like drinking. Like I can't, you know, one or two, okay, but when you go beyond that, I get violently ill, like I just don't feel good. So even there, I'm like, eh.

SPEAKER_01

I yeah, I now when we go out to restaurants, if I drink, I have one at the rest like one. And then if I'm at home, maybe two. I just I don't feel the way I used to. And I it's a shame we talked about this. I love cocktails, I love the taste of them, love them, like love them, but they're not really liking me anymore. It's really sad. It is I've tried to do god, they have so many, like, um like they'll do uh it's it did not have alcohol. They'll add like mushroom whatever's in it, like all these brands are coming out with like anything but it is not the same. No, and they're not even good, they're terrible, and it's always a girl like this was delicious on Instagram, and she's like, Oh my gosh, I actually feel buzzed. Okay, you're acting, and this is not this is an ad. It's a pay, it's another ad. Again, Instagram are just ads.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Speaking of ads, I am um I I finally I am now a Sheen affiliate.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Um, all I had to do was literally click a button. And I'm really embarrassed to admit that because I thought it was more complicated than that. Oh. When I say click a button, I mean click a button a button. And it's like, congratulations. So be on the lookout. Okay. We'll be we'll be celebrating. You're I'm gonna have you, we're gonna try we're gonna do a a a sheen try-on for you, and we'll see if you get any rashes or ill-fitting garments.

SPEAKER_00

I uh I like I said in the past, I have not had such great luck, but you know, I'm willing to Me too.

SPEAKER_01

So in the past, same. Now I kind of need I need some boundaries because it's getting a little out of hand.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I definitely need new clothes, so I just Yes you do.

SPEAKER_01

We all do. Let's all get new clothes. That sounds good. Money and time, and yeah, like I'm just not in the mood for like wasting 18 hours somewhere and then finding nothing. That's why I do really like online shopping. I'm a big fan of it.

SPEAKER_00

Online shopping can be so dangerous, and then a lot of times you don't return the stuff, so it's like, oh, you say to yourself, it's okay if it doesn't work out, it's okay if it doesn't fit, I'll just return it. Right. And then you never do, or by the time you go to return. Well, that's what they that's what they rely on. Where by the time you go to return it, it's past the return time.

SPEAKER_01

So it's true. And that's even if you're attempting it, because I don't know, depending on like Sheen makes it they don't I mean, honestly, they're just like, well, it's gonna be a gazillion dollars to return it. So you may as well just now they are better at doing credits, they just don't want it back, which I always find really interesting. It's like, no, you can keep that shit. We don't need it.

SPEAKER_00

It was only two dollars anyways for us, so yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, that's funny. There's a couple things on there that are literally like four dollars, and you're like, how are you making money on this? And then you have to like then you get icky because you're like, oh, that means like labor's really, really cheap. That means it was 50 cents to make this. Yeah, uh, I don't know. I can't think about it. I just I get overwhelmed. Like we went to New York, I don't know, maybe a month ago now, almost, and I was I was getting like not claustrophobic, but kind of with stuff. Like I was looking at all the stores, and they're all just packed with stuff, especially like those like cheap um souvenir shops, and I just had like this there's one of these on every block, and then I'm like, there's one of these in every block in other cities, and I was just starting to like think about all the stuff that we have in the world, and it was just it was kind of like all-consuming, and it didn't stop me like while buying things, but it was was just very like I don't know. I don't even I'm verbal processing this right now. I'm not even sure like how I feel about it, but it just blew my mind that there's just that much stuff everywhere.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, and we're still building, and we're still always yeah, I don't know constantly forever building and new things and I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Like you said, who knows what's it does make me feel like we're approaching end times. I don't know why. I just kind of feel like yeah, we're we're almost done.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean we are hitting our Jetson stage, which I mean we talked about like that's kind of what wouldn't win when did we say Jetsons was 1960 something?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and the year was 2062 or something like that.

SPEAKER_00

Which is only 30 years from now, just about like I know. We'll definitely still be alive then.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, hopefully. I mean, yeah. I mean It's the goal. It's a goal. But yeah, I it's um I'm trying to think what other futuristic things I mean there's some movies where it's like it's the year three thousand three whatever, but I I don't I don't know. Even like Space Odyssey, what's that movie called to 2000 the um Stanley Kubrick movie? Space Odyssey 2000, it's something like that. Anyway, that's I don't know what year it was, but it's like it's all about the monolith. Like, have you seen that movie? Okay, so it's like there's like apes, right? And they're doing their whole thing, and this monolith appears and it gives them knowledge, and then all of a sudden they that's when they like build weapons and like start like evolution starts or whatever. It's a really weird movie, but it is it's one worth seeing. But anyway, our phones are very reminiscent of this monolith, which ends up being like this um more like um alien intelligence kind of thing, and like that's what's giving mankind all the information to like kill each other. Yeah, I don't know. We were just talking about the end of times. It's fine. It got dark. Let's let's get dark. Yeah, we can move on. Um anyway, I feel like that's actually that's pretty much it, right? Yeah, everything else to say.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_01

All right, all right, well, case closed. That was uh tune in next week. We're gonna do the the norms, and it's gonna be a hoot.

SPEAKER_00

It it is definitely gonna be a hoot.

SPEAKER_01

Stay stay. Don't do drugs. Don't do drugs. Case close case close.

unknown

Bye.
