Welcome back to the beauty files.
SPEAKER_02Welcome, welcome.
SPEAKER_01Welcome. Um, how are you doing? I'm good. How are you? I'm great. We're all jazzed up. We've had our coffee. I have lashes. I know. How exciting. It is exciting. After you did them, I looked in the mirror and what did I say? I said, I'm a girl. I forgot how effective lashes are in one's appearance.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01And um I also said to you, what what lengths did we do for me? Um I did doll shape, right?
SPEAKER_02We did a doll shape.
SPEAKER_01What what lengths did you do on me? Just for the audiences.
SPEAKER_02Eight to twelve. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, there were some sevens in there too, but mainly eight to twelve.
SPEAKER_00And I used to do twelve to fifteen, maybe even sixteen. Oh yeah. You you were you can wear um guys.
SPEAKER_01You were lashing, you were flying. It was it was rough. Um, yeah. I uh I've had some people notice and some people not notice, or they just didn't want to say that I look nice.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But you know, I'm I'm pretty I'm pretty excited about it.
SPEAKER_01So we'll we'll see. We'll see. The the plan is just the summer and we'll we'll we'll go from there.
SPEAKER_02I'd like to think that I will Although the summer is like halfway through.
SPEAKER_01I know, it's a fact. Um maybe maybe a little bit into the fall. We'll we'll we'll talk about it. But um anyway, today is a very special episode uh because we are having our own version of the Oscars.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Although I don't watch tons and tons of movies. So it'll be interesting.
SPEAKER_01This is definitely not, I want to be real clear, this is not um related. Yes, this is not current. This is like, and this is not even um, this is truly just a poll from our um exposure, what we've watched over the years. Um, so if there's a movie that you're like, oh man, you haven't seen Wickerman, um, which is down for worst ever movie, but um no, I have not. So Wickerman did not make it to my list because I haven't seen it. I have to see it. Yeah for it to be on my list. Right. So your Oscars might be different than our Oscars, and you know what? You go start a podcast and you can do one of these yourself. Right. Otherwise, buckle up because this is our version of the Oscars. We're gonna call it the hmm. The BFs. Okay. Okay, so so where are we starting with our BFs? Um, this is also in no particular order. Um, I just threw some stuff at you. I just text Rachel like, what, three days ago?
SPEAKER_02Was like maybe it would have been two days ago.
SPEAKER_01Two days ago.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, two days ago. So, like, yeah. So, you know. And I kind of was creating it last night, so bear with me.
SPEAKER_01These are well, the good news is that these are fresh. These are fresh thoughts. We we this is the most up-to-date information you're gonna get on our own opinions.
SPEAKER_02It's kind of like in our last one when it was like rapid fire, and it's like, oh, rapid fire only comes to the top of your head. Cause um, yeah. I I did struggle on on some of these. Um Well, yeah, if you don't watch certain types of movies, oh I did too, because I don't watch certain types of movies.
SPEAKER_01So And I'm not always like convinced that even if I watch the movie, do they deserve Best Actress? No. No. So it's this was tough. Um okay, well, we can start with what actually led to all of this, which was best trilogy. So, do you want to go first? Trilogy isn't really my thing. Okay. So I'll go first. Just get out of the way. Okay. Everyone ready? Best trilogies, in my opinion, are as follows. And then they are in no particular order. Back to the Future, The Born Identity, Lord of the Rings, The Dark Knight Trilogy, The Cornetto, which would be Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End. Those to me are the best trilogies. The Matrix honestly, it was just the first movie. So that's why he didn't make it in. Jurassic Park, again, just the first movie, didn't make it in. All of these that I've listed, all three were bangers.
SPEAKER_02See, I mean, I would say Jurassic Park, but I really only like the first one.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. So it's a trilogy, but is it the best? Indiana Jones, actually, that's I did not like Indiana Jones.
SPEAKER_02Really? No. Why didn't you like it? I don't know. There was just something about it that was not my favorite. It is not. I The Godfather.
SPEAKER_01Oh, see, I never I've only seen one of them. So that's why it wasn't fair for me to list it. Okay. Um but that should be.
SPEAKER_00Have you seen all the Godfathers? Yes. Okay, so that should be on your list. Yeah. That's what I said.
SPEAKER_02Did you like that one? Yeah. Okay. Um continue. Um, oh my gosh. Like Rocky didn't make it. Fast and Furious. Oh, okay. All of them. I have to do it. All of them. I was gonna say, because Rocky's. Why my one cat I named after one of the actresses in Letty.
SPEAKER_01Oh, this is funny. You did not strike me as a Fast and Furious fan.
SPEAKER_02I didn't like it, and then my son became obsessed with it, so then you have to sit and watch it and all of them over and over. So it just became chartered. Yeah. Wow. Yes, it did.
SPEAKER_01Um, those would be like The difference is naming trilogies versus which are the best. So if I asked pop culture, they would tell me Lord of the Rings is the best trilogy of all time. I do not like Lord of the Rings. Have you seen Lord of the Rings?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Okay. Alright. I'll I don't. I'm just it it they remind me of like the Harry Potters. So I feel like Harry Potter.
SPEAKER_01Oh, everybody right now is turning off this podcast. If you put those two together in the same sentence.
SPEAKER_02I know. And my little sister is obsessed with Harry Potter, so I understand, but I don't. So okay. But I've seen most of the Harry Potter. I might have seen all of them, but not like truly watched them all the way through, if that makes sense. That makes sense. The first two definitely have seen all the way through. Okay. Okay. I think is there five? There's like eight. I don't know. There's a lot. There's a lot of them. They just keep getting bigger, so I don't care. It reminds me of like a TV series. Like, honestly, trilogies remind me of TV series. Like, it's just they're really long.
SPEAKER_01It's a continuation of celebration. Alright, well, I might. I'm sorry, everyone who's crashing out right now that Rachel said that Lord of the Rings is like Harry Potter. I I I didn't see it coming, and I I would have edited her and just cut it out completely, but I have to keep it in because this is all about opinions. So I'm gonna say my favorite. This is really tough. Back to the Future is the oldest in my life. I remember borrowing the the trilogy set from my great-grandmother. Shout out to the I didn't love Back to the Future either. I loved Back to the Future. It was like the greatest. But I will say, you probably haven't seen these, but the Cornetta, which is the Sean of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and World's End, those are like cinematic, just I honestly I can't pick. You know, we're just gonna move on. We're gonna let that just hang on.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. What's the one that I watch all the time? And it is definitely a trilogy, and I do like it. Um is it? They're still going on. Um what are they? They're still going on. The Mocking Jay? Oh Hunger Games. Hunger Games. Hunger Games. Okay, yes. I love the Hunger Games.
SPEAKER_01I don't know why. I enjoyed the Hunger Games. Um, I hate Jennifer Lawrence. I I just her personality is so annoying to me, and she's just so widely celebrated for how goofy she is, and I just I just don't think it's authentic. I think she lays it on thick to be weird and likable, and I just it makes me cringe every time.
SPEAKER_02See, like I just don't I find her very annoying.
SPEAKER_01I don't hate her. I don't hate anyone.
SPEAKER_02My mother's That's just like in Wicked. Oh The Voice, um, Ariana Grande. Oh. I just think that we're all so beautiful.
SPEAKER_00You know what? They didn't even make it on my list. Is that a Disney movie?
SPEAKER_01I I don't think it's Disney.
SPEAKER_02Is it Pixar? Is it is Wicked? I don't know if it's Disney or not.
SPEAKER_01See, they couldn't make it on my list because I didn't watch Wicked. But I do find that entire cast to be very troubling and very um Alright, we're getting off topic. Okay, best trilogy. We just name them, so you you guys decide. Okay. Best actor.
SPEAKER_02Do you have a list? Um I love Johnny Dupp. Oh yeah, okay. Okay. Um George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and then Oh god, I always forget his name. This is gonna sound very racist. The black, he's in um Denzel, Washington. Yes, thank you. He's in everything. I was just gonna say, he's in everything.
SPEAKER_01Other than Will Smith, the black guy in everything. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Or Morgan Freeman.
SPEAKER_01That's another one.
SPEAKER_02Yes, and um short guy. Short black guy. Kevin Hart.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_02I'm so bad with names, guys. But I absolutely love them. They are, I just like watching them. Did you see Training Day? Yes. Okay. Watching them in movies is just like they just they just nail it. They just nail it, and I love it. Also, um Channing Tatum. Oh. Oh, interesting. I like him. Do you like to look at him or do you like his active? I I like it because he's been in a bunch of um movies as well, and I just I I like him. He was in a movie that I just recently watched, I will say I did not like his character. Um, but typically when he's in a movie, he's like that warm, fuzzy, like good, good-hearted guy that's there to like be your knight in shining armor. Love that. That character for him I like. The one in this movie that I just watched where he was psychopath. Oh. Um, did not like. And it was an older movie, and a friend or a client of mine told me to watch it, and I watched it and I was like, Yeah, that was not.
SPEAKER_01Now, did you not like it because you just see him as something else, or was he really just not good at that type of character?
SPEAKER_02The movie was weird. The the character was just weird.
SPEAKER_01What movie was that? People are gonna want to know. Alright, while you're looking that up, I will give you my list. Um, Best Actor, Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Gary Ullman. I did list more than five. Um, Nicolas Cage, not just because he does so many different roles, I just find it impressive. A lot of his movies have not landed, but I think him as an actor is good. Uh, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, we have that in common. And then I do have, as a side note, Bruce Willis and um Harrison Ford. I like Harrison Ford. But I feel like Harrison Ford plays the same character in every movie. He's just like that cool, chill um I'm here to save the day type thing. Same with Blink Twice. Oh, it's called Blink Twice. Blink twice. It is weird. Oh. Oh, another one is a little bit more.
SPEAKER_02It's considered a thriller. Was it a thriller? Were you thrilled? No.
SPEAKER_01I thought it was really weird. Was it like a psychological thriller? Oh, okay. See, I like those. But I we'll get to that with scary movies. Well, we all know I don't watch them, but um, I also, guys, I don't think I can like pick. I named all these names and I thought it was gonna be really easy for me to just say this one's one top, but Well, I think since we both picked Brad Pitt. Oh, but he can't be the best, he's just not. I can't pick. But just you guys let us know who the winner is. Yeah. We're gonna give you the choices. Okay, so right along the lines of best actor is best actress. Okay. This one I actually legitimately struggled with. Um I have names. Do you want me to go first? Go ahead. Okay. Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslett, Kate Blanchett, Florence Pugh, looks like Pug with an H. She was in um Little Women and she was in that midsummer movie, like a horror movie. I just really like her. I just I don't know what it is. Um, Natalie Portman and then Uma Thurman. Okay.
SPEAKER_02So Natalie Portman I love.
SPEAKER_01Julia Roberts. Oh, yeah, Julia Roberts.
SPEAKER_02She was my like, should I list her? I probably should have. Go on. Uh Catherine Zeta Jones. I love Catherine Zeta Jones. Love um uh Hathaway.
SPEAKER_01Oh Ann Hatha Oh, okay. Anne Hathaway was like this Anne Hathaway? Like a centimeter. I don't know why she wasn't on my list. I couldn't think of any like standout roles that I like.
SPEAKER_02Well, I just saw Anne Hathaway was just in, I watched The Devil Wears Prada, the second one. Oh yes. I didn't see either one of them. So and who is the other Meryl Street. Meryl Street. And Emily Blonde. Yes. Meryl Streep. Those are probably some of the top. Um my other one of um what's her name? She's been in a bunch of oh, who is it that's in the notebook? Rachel. Rachel McAdams. And um Oh my god, who is It's gonna come to me. I had it and now it's gone again. Short blonde hair. She's in Um She'd been in a bunch of movies recently. And she was on Dancing with the Stars, like one of the um Julianne Hugh. Who the heck is that? She's uh Safe Haven?
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Which was one of her the movies that she was in. Oh, this girl. Yes. She's really good.
SPEAKER_01Alright, all that to say uh that's who is on Rachel's list. Okay, anyone else?
SPEAKER_02No. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Alright, moving on. Most beautiful man slash woman. I honestly only came up with two women and one man. Okay, okay. The the woman is I think her name, well, her name's Monica, but it's Bellucci. She, well, a lot of a lot of people will know her from The Matrix, the second Matrix, because she was the French restaurant owner's wife. But she's a model. She was also in the second Beetlejuice. Um, she played Beetlejuice's uh deceased wife, but she is an Italian, here I'll show you a picture. She's an Italian model and actress, and she's she's older. Um, okay, so her and then Penelope Cruz, I think is just like perfection.
SPEAKER_02I would say you're gonna laugh. Yeah. Right now, I actually saw her in another movie, Sydney Sweeney. I do love Sydney Sweeney.
SPEAKER_01There is a joke that she has like hot downs because she kind of looks like she. I do, I think Sydney Sweeney is a knockout.
SPEAKER_02Honestly, I um Jennifer Aniston. Jennifer Aniston, I is very what's that, the girl next door. So I would say Jennifer Aniston. Mm-hmm. And Catherine Zeta Jones. Talking about like men, I would say for like an older man, George Clooney just He just has aged so well.
SPEAKER_01Um yeah, I put him in with Like we're talking older, yeah, like George Clooney. Even like Leonardo DiCaprio is not that young anymore. I think Killian Murphy is like just another one of just perfection. He was in all kinds of movies, but he's definitely a model as well. But he was in um Peaky Blinders, and he just he's just so dreamy. He's so dreamy. Um, Matt Damon is also another one. And who else was on my list? I mean Harrison Ford is also but these are all older than Liam Hemsworth. I don't think I like any Oh Robert Pattinson, but only when he's like got a little bit of weight on him. Oh yeah. What's his name? Yeah, Liam Hemsworth. Yeah. Um because I don't get the whole deal with the Timothy Shalom. He's just a twig. He's not a man. Show me men, okay? We want manly men.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, it's just like um Oh, and Keanu Reeves, also in the Twilight, what is that? Oh, Jacob.
SPEAKER_01Taylor Lautner. No, see, I like Jacob. No, I mean that's the actor. Taylor Lautner is the actor of Jacob. Yes. You like Jacob. You were Team Jacob. See, gosh, Rachel. I don't think we can be friends anymore. I was Team Edward, because I'm normal. And it's fine. It's fine. It's fine. He is on my list as worst actor, just saying it's Taylor Lautner.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I I wasn't looking, I was just talking about talking about like looks.
SPEAKER_01I see, I look too much like him. I'm not attracted to people who look like me.
SPEAKER_02Right, and I look too much Yeah, so that's fair.
SPEAKER_01Well we'll go with that.
SPEAKER_02This makes But I also don't there was just something of like maybe it's just too white, like like just Like he he looked dead to me in it. So Well he was I know he was. He was I just it's true. But I don't like his he has a tiny head.
SPEAKER_01Who Pattinson? I only like Pattinson when he has a little bit of like weight on him. He looks tiny. He looks bad when he's Oh he's got a lot of hair though.
SPEAKER_02I know, and he has a tiny head, and he has a lot of hair, and it just does not it's he's not proportionate to me enough.
SPEAKER_01Have you seen the memes about when Twilight was was big Twilight is a trilogy? Actually, no, it's not. They split it up into four movies, it doesn't count. Um it's like when I was a kid or when I was younger, I was so convinced about it being Team Edward or Team Jacob, and I totally missed Team Charlie. And now Charlie is looking pretty, pretty handsome now, just the dad, uh. Yeah. And there's some really funny memes about that of like, oh, don't sleep on Charlie. Okay, moving on. Um, best drama. Alright, I'll go first. I have The Prestige, Inception, Interstellar, The King's Speech, A Beautiful Mind. Oh, Russell Crowe is another one. I really like Russell Crowe. I think Gladiator.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um yeah, I had a hard time with this. I I mean I feel like The Devil Wears Prada is like a drama, but it's like a dramedy. It's that's like really like the most recent thing that I can think of that I didn't really use. Is it recent over time?
SPEAKER_01Like I'm Traveler's Wife. Did you see that one?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Now The Notebook.
SPEAKER_01The Notebook, the Notebook. Did you cry? Did you cry?
SPEAKER_02I love the notebook.
SPEAKER_01I never watched it because I didn't want to cry. I balled my eyes out of that.
SPEAKER_02Now, Safe Haven is a drama that I was telling you about. Yeah, I was I was like, wait, yeah, Safe Haven is a drama. The notebook is I would say that's probably my number one would be the notebook.
SPEAKER_01There you go. Oh, yeah. Oh, and can we discuss Ryan Gosling for just a moment? What are your thoughts? I'm gonna tell you mine. I think his eyes are too are too close together. And I don't I don't get I don't get the appeal. I really don't. I've never been a Ryan Gosling fan in terms Of like he's just not he's just not it for me. Yeah. His eyes are too close together. I'm sorry, everybody.
SPEAKER_02Um, he's he's cute. I mean, he's not like my top like if he hit on me, I don't think I would give him my number. Yeah. I don't think I would. Same with Ben Affleck. No. That boy is just mm-mm. Mm-mm. No, this don't happen.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm good. Uh okay, so you named some dramas. That I'm proud of you. That was good. Um, best director. I have no P I no idea. I'll just list the best because there really is no other. There's no other I I found them all and it's done. Okay. Christopher Nolan, I would say is the best director of our time. Uh Quentin Tarantino. I know who he is. Stanley Kubrick. He always has like conspiratorial like secrets in all of his movies. Um and he also did uh oh my god, we forgot Tom Cruise. Oh yeah. Plop him in there. He died um after um Eyes Wide Shut with Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. Have you seen that? Mm-mm. It's you should see it. Shut up. It's like it's it's pretty out there. It's about like Tom gets invited to like well, he doesn't get invited, he just kind of goes after he finds out about it. But there's like this elite party where they wear like masks and it's like a whole like sex ritual. It's it's wild. But there's so many hidden messages in it, and that's what people argue about. And then Stanley Kubrick died like right after it, and then there was like all these deleted scenes that never made it to the movie. This is pretty interesting. Okay. Um, Stanley Kubrick, Rindley Scott, uh, Martin Scorsese, and Peter Jackson. Peter Jackson did Lord of the Rings. So that's why he has to be there. Um, those to me are the best directors, and you can come for me because I know I'm right. That's all I have to say about that. Well, okay, best action.
SPEAKER_02So this one's hard for me as well because uh John Wick, I would say, okay, is probably John Wick is on my list.
SPEAKER_01One of the Well, that's really the only one. You did well.
SPEAKER_02I don't again, I would say, I would say like the Fast and Furious is action, but it's also like I like action it with that. Um but you're not watching Rambo. I'm not watching Rambo. I mean I've seen Rambo. Yes. But it's not my I I don't I don't love it.
SPEAKER_01Um okay, I'll give you my list. I have Batman, but it's the it's the Christopher Nolan one. It's the one with Christian Bale. It's those three. Yeah. Uh Heath Ledger, that that trilogy there. Um Terminator 2, not the first one, the second one. Uh The Matrix, the first one. John Wick, all of them. Kill Bill. I hated Kill Bill. Really? Oh my god, I love Kill Bill. Um Gladiator, which was kind of like action drama. Okay. True Lies, which is just Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Arnold, just and um, what's her face? Jamie Lee Curtis. It's just it's just great. That's my next one to show her a child. Like I have to show her. No. Um and then Predator. Um, did you watch Predator? Okay. Um, and also, well, this goes into my scary. I'll leave that one for scary. Predator was also scary now that I think about it. Some of these have crossover. Yeah. But the alien um movies. They're more scary than action.
SPEAKER_02Men in black. You know, is that considered action?
SPEAKER_01That's like sci-fi action comedy. I like that. I'm a big fan of. I think it's comedy. We just showed we just showed our child uh Men in Black recently. Yes, I loved Men in Black. That was when um uh Will Smith had like his his crazy musical career alongside acting. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What happened to him? I don't know, but I liked him and I really like his wife tossed him around too much.
SPEAKER_01They got something weird going on. Jada Pacon Smith. I mean, just yeah, yeah. Guys, be careful how you marry. Mm-hmm. Okay. Best comedy. Okay. Like, I feel like you know, you got it. Like, you know what's what.
SPEAKER_02I love the Falkers. I just do. I think it's freaking hysterical. Okay. Um, what's it called? The The Brothers. Stepbrothers. Stepbrothers.
SPEAKER_01I just wrote that down because I wanted to remember that one.
SPEAKER_02The stepbrothers.
SPEAKER_01Um Okay, so when you say the Falkers, do you mean literally the Falkers or do you mean Meet the Parents?
SPEAKER_02Meet the parents. Okay. But they have they do. That's why I wanted both. I wanted to spend the both. Okay. It's both. Um and then what is the other one with Will um Farrell? Farrell. Um Stepdad? Is it stepdad? I know Step Brothers. No, um, actor wise, is gonna tell me. Will Farrell. Oh, Daddy is home with Will Farrell and Mel Gibson is in it. Oh, Mel Gibson. Uh-huh. Who I think is really good.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Jonah Hill is also um he's funny, but he didn't make it on Best Actor list. Um, alright, I'll name some comedies that I know. Um Sean of the Dead, The Big Lebowski, that has Jeff Bridges. Okay. Um, Hot Tub Time Machine, Bridesmaids. Bride, yes, Bridesmaids. That's a good one. Office Space and Stepbrothers are like my again, these are just my absolute favorites of all time. And also Death Becomes Her, but that's like that's like a dark comedy.
SPEAKER_02Um, Mark Wahlberg is he's in a lot of really good movies. I like him a lot.
SPEAKER_01I didn't like him because he um took Matt Damon and just did his own like spin-off. Like I can't think of what movies Mark Wahlberg was in that was like a trilogy. It was very similar to The Born Identity, and I just I had to pick. I had to I was like, well, I'm a I'm a Matt Damon guy. Yeah. Um okay, those were those were good comedies. I know there are more comedies, everybody. I know that. But these are the best, and if you haven't seen them, I really do recommend you watch them. Um okay, Best Scaring Movie. So before I do this, I have to I have to say one that is probably going to be on my list, but I haven't seen it yet. I'm gonna watch it this weekend. It's called Obsession, and it just came out.
SPEAKER_02I mean, we were supposed to go see that in movies, but we went to see Backroom, which is awful. Oh, okay. Okay, that is the worst. Okay, let me tell you, you want to talk about worst? Worst, scary movie. It was freaking awful. Okay. I'm like sitting there and I'm like, this is the dumbest, stupidest, like ew weird movie.
SPEAKER_01Well, apparently you should have seen Obsession because it is taking over the internet.
SPEAKER_02I've heard that that TikTok reviews were saying like people were vomiting in the movie Obsession, like in the movie theater, because it was so scary. I was like, okay, I've heard like it's very scary.
SPEAKER_01But it's but it's like captivating.
SPEAKER_02So you can get it now on. Oh, yes, my husband just watched it. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01So he screens, as I told you before, he screens all our scary movies. Uh, because I don't do scary movies. Um he said this is one that I will be very disturbed by, but it is worth watching. Okay. So knowing me, I had to I have to know things before I know things. Like I need so I've done I've watched a lot of clips. I've watched the first 10 minutes, I've watched Yeah, I need to watch it, but it apparently they shot it. It's an indie film. They it cost them $700,000, which is not a lot. And it's already made four, it's like in the millions, like either four million or four hundred million. 400 million sounds like a lot. It's four million.
SPEAKER_02Um, but it has to be more than that because it probably opening weekends was probably like a million and it's been out for a while.
SPEAKER_01Let me see what the box office number is. Let's see. That sounds like a really old term, doesn't it? Box office number. I'm so like some of these things I'm surprised haven't. Oh, it is 400 million. Yeah. 400 million. And it let's see. Isn't he supposed to be like cray cray? And like she's cray cray. Well, so uh essentially it has to do with he is just like this shy guy, has a crush on this girl, and he gets some like a wish thing from a from a store with like the sells crystals or whatever, and he very like flippantly just says, I wish this person, Nikki, whatever her name is, loved me more than anything in the world. Like just real casual and and breaks it, and then it just completely takes off. Yeah. It's but her performance is people are saying it is like Oscar worthy. Like the the ability of how she can like change, I don't know. It it's it it's yeah.
SPEAKER_02I guess that should be like we should that should be on our list. Like we should watch it and then talk about it.
SPEAKER_01We should. Because I don't watch scary movies, but I am very intrigued by this one. This one, everyone, if you've seen any reels where she goes, No, no, no, no, no, no, we're not doing this. And then she like it like escalates and then she brings it back and she goes, then why does it matter? Like it's the the control of her um character is apparently like it's very talked about. Yeah, lots. Lots of people? Well, not lots. Not lots. By her? By himself. I believe it's all by her, yeah. Because she loves him more than anything in the world. So if anyone gets in the way, spoilers everyone. Um, I mean, I don't I haven't seen it yet, but I I do know that there's some gruesome uh things in there. But I was I kept asking, like, is it kind of funny? Because I'll watch it if it's funny. And my husband was like, no, not really. And so I'm like, but I I now I'm to the point where I think we have to watch it for the sake of pop culture and the podcast. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I wish I would have seen it in theaters, because let me tell you, back room, don't go see it.
SPEAKER_01Okay, my list of best scary, now that we've gotten obsession out of the way. Um, okay, so Alien with Sigourney Weaver. That's like my heart's even though I know what happens, I still get very like um okay, signs with Joaquin Phoenix and really that like broke my brain when that alien like walked across the okay, The Ring. I loved the look again, I don't watch scary movies. Yeah, so these are gonna be Yeah, you know. Um The Sixth Sense, I thought it was um movie magic when that came out. The the twist at the end, um, The Shining, that movie also still gets to me years later. Yeah. Um those are those are like my best scries. What do you have?
SPEAKER_02I laugh because it's old, Jules. Oh, of course, Jolls, yeah. Did you watch it for Fourth of July? No, I didn't, but I've seen it like five gazillion times. So um The Exorcist.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. I see I didn't see that. I saw I did see the exorcism of Emily Rose, but it's not the same. Yeah, it's not I can't do with any demonic entity people walking upside down on the ceilings. Yeah. I don't I don't know. What's the other one that begins with a G, the uh the grunge. The grunge. I didn't see that either. No thanks.
SPEAKER_02Go on. Um I as far as scary goes, I would say like that's about it because a lot of the other things that I watch that would be considered scary are more like documentary type. Well, those are scary. The ones the scariest ones are like the true crime. So that doesn't fall in scary movies. That falls in true crime.
SPEAKER_01Go ahead and put true crime in at best scary because I didn't make that I didn't make that category. Do you want to do that? Um I don't watch true crime either.
SPEAKER_02Jeffrey Dahmer. I mean that was like the series of them to watch. Okay. Um uh see, and I didn't write these all down. I guess I just yeah, I threw it on. What's another one that it was made into a real movie?
SPEAKER_01I know there was one with like the the Mendez Brothers or something.
SPEAKER_02I watched that one. Um so I this sounds crazy, but like stuff like that I find way more interesting. Well, okay. Interesting is I I wouldn't say disturbing it's disturbing, but I would rather watch that. And be scared. And be scared than some kind of stupid.
SPEAKER_01You know, you actually might uh give me more reason to watch scary movies instead because I could probably handle those. Yeah. Knowing that they're likely not. Um, The Menu uh was another one that had um Anya Taylor Joy, the girl with their eyes that are too wideset, um real big, and she looks like Elsa in real life. Like she's I'm trying to think what else she's in. Anyway, uh that was a good one, but it's not like scary, it's just more uh intense and creepy. But okay. Now we're on to the fun stuff. Um worst movie. Scary movie.
SPEAKER_02Like all of them. Okay, like the scary, like dumb, it's so dumb.
SPEAKER_01Um Drew Barrymore was in them. Is that and and then oh, and then I know what you did last summer. What do you think about those? Dumb. Okay. I am like they are so I just I can't.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Um, okay, my worst movies. A lot of you might not agree with me, but I don't really care. Uh Avatar. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02I hate Avatar.
SPEAKER_01I don't see that.
SPEAKER_02Can I add one? Yeah. Star Wars. Just shoot me.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so high school boyfriend. This is what this is what made us um even talk about trilogies because I wanted to be real like specific with you on on Star Wars because the original three from the 70s is considered one of the greatest trilogies. But then um, what's his face? Came out and made more. George Lucas. George Lucas then came out with one, two, and three, and that's when Anakin was little. Natalie Portman was in it, but it was just the worst bad writing. And then Disney took over, and then they did, they were just off to the races. They did the moment with Ray, and then Luce Gladwalker came back, and then uh Adam Driver.
SPEAKER_02Oh, do you know what? Um I also um wanted to give a shout-out and I just didn't. Um A Star Is Born. So Lady Gaga's in it. A Star Is Born.
SPEAKER_01Oh, with Bradley Cooper.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01I loved that movie. I didn't see it, but I love the music from that movie.
SPEAKER_02If you haven't seen that movie, I love I need to see that.
SPEAKER_01It's so good.
SPEAKER_02Um it's like and it's true, it's just it's so good.
SPEAKER_01And I do like Bradley Cooper, but he's another one. Like, he I feel like he plays other than that movie, actually. He just plays like the same characters. Um, and then he got his upper bluff, and I just can't anymore. Um, other worst movie um would be like I hate any superhero movie. Yes. I hate the Avengers, I hate all of them. I don't care what any of you say. I hate them. I hate the Hulk movies. Anything that was made with just a green screen. Yeah. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Like I can't do it. It's it's pointless. It gives me a headache.
SPEAKER_02Action movie that I liked, and I just thought about it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Twister. The new Twister. Oh. Both. That had um oh, what's his face? Because he died. He was also in Titanic.
SPEAKER_02Um which I did like the Titanic.
SPEAKER_01I do too. So Movie Masterpiece. Yeah. Uh, what's his name? Um Bill Paxton. Bill Paxton, R.I.P. Um, okay. And honestly, any another thing is like all the remakes. Like the ones that are remakes. Cash grabs. Like, why are you touching that?
SPEAKER_02And I will say that I am not a huge fan of like sequels. I'm just not like sometimes they're very hard to pull out. They're really hard, and I have a really hard time with especially if I loved something the first time. The Devil Wears Prada. I went and saw it, I was worried.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02But it was really good. Okay. So it was really, really good.
SPEAKER_01Do you think it's made well?
SPEAKER_02The right amount of time has passed, or maybe maybe, but it was it was good. It was not stupid and cheesy and i it was it was good. So I That's got a star-studded cast too.
SPEAKER_01It's got like Stanley Tucci and Emily Brunt. Mm-hmm. Yeah, it's a good I never saw those. Yeah. I know like what they're about. I just haven't seen them. Uh okay, worse actor. Steven Segal. Yeah, he's pretty bad. Uh Jaden Smith, uh Will Smith's son. I haven't I don't seen anything with him in it. He's just it's not good. Okay. It's not it's just I'm sorry, Jaden, but he's just not. Uh Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob in Twilight, and Kristen Stewart. I think she's just the worst. She's just every everything she That's why we need to be on video. She blinks a lot. She like makes these weird. In fact, my daughter does the best impression of Kristen Stewart. That's really funny. Those are the just the the worst in my in my book.
SPEAKER_02If you have someone else. I guess I don't like look at it like um, you know who I've I liked in certain things and then other things I absolutely hated her. Um was um she was in suits. And Megan Markle Megan Markle. That's right. Megan Markle. Um I liked her in mixed reviews about her. I liked her in suits, but I have not liked her in anything else. I think she's freaking awful in pretty much everything else. Um and I didn't care for her before like I saw the movie Suits, and then I liked it, but I just um Catherine Heigel she's pretty hit or miss for me. I I think you're right.
SPEAKER_01I I think she's Loved her and knocked up. And in what's your that bridesmaids, I think what's it called? The the twelve dresses. Yeah, 21 dresses. 21 dresses.
SPEAKER_02What else is she in? She's in actually a lot of things. I am trying to think, but uh yeah, I just I'm trying she's in a lot of things and I can't even think of them right now. That's okay.
SPEAKER_01I think I mean uh to me we listed like the two most obvious knocked up and uh 21 dresses.
SPEAKER_02Men, I'm trying to I see, and that's the thing. If I don't like them, I just kind of don't pay attention to it. You know, I I I don't love Arnold Schwarzenegger.
SPEAKER_01As an actor, yeah. I mean he was truly like just the look.
SPEAKER_02I just never really like he. Arnold? You don't like Arnold? I just he's never really been like top. Oh, he's not a top-tier actor. I know, but he I still think he's just like eh. I there are lots of Arnold movies I do like. Um, the other one that I I really like, and he was in this with Jennifer Anniston, and he is also in the golf movies. I really, really like him. Um Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler. Um, he is great. I think he's really, really good. I agree. I can think more about great than I do worse, because they don't really just I don't really think about them if they're not that great. Like, do you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Like I just kind of like oh another actress I've never been impressed by is Jessica Beale. Yeah, she's not. She just had the the look and I just kind of plop her into things. Um okay, so now this is the last segment. Are you ready? Okay. Best and worst Disney movies.
SPEAKER_02Alright. So if we're going like way, way back. Or going as far back as you'd like to go. I've always been a Cinderella fan. That's on my list too. Cinderella on I love, love, love Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast.
SPEAKER_01Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, and Sleeping Beauty are like just unstoppable.
SPEAKER_02I didn't love Sleeping Beauty. Just I I don't know what it was about Sleeping Beauty. I'd never I watched it, but I never really loved Sleeping Beauty. It was just not my top. I just love it. But Cinderella, um I did like The Little Mermaid, the original. I'm sorry guys. I do not like the new. I just it's just not it's not me. Any Lion King.
SPEAKER_01The other thing, no, The Lion King.
SPEAKER_02And I saw it on Broadway too. The Lion King. Are you saying you love it? I love it. Okay. And so I would say for me, like, if my my top three would be Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King.
SPEAKER_01Okay. I added, I think the sound of music is Disney. Um and the original Mary Poppins. Oh, I love Mary Poppins.
SPEAKER_02Those are like And also I did add Frozen. Frozen. I liked Frozen, but I don't like the number two. I don't either. I prefer to go. That was a cash grab. Same thing with Moana.
SPEAKER_01I loved Moana. Moana 2 is terrible. I don't like Moana 2. I like the first one, not the second. Those are my favorite Disney movies. Least favorite, I just had to put this in here. It's just comical with like the airbutt. Oh yeah. I had to double check to make sure that was Disney. It was. Um Disney. I would say any, obviously, like any number two. Any number two three.
SPEAKER_02I'm not a Toy Story fan. I know we talked about it. I'm just not a Toy Story. It just didn't do it for me.
SPEAKER_01I liked the first one. I thought the first one we talked about this was this was again what prompted the whole movie episode. Because I it was the first of its kind. It was Pixar, very first ever.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, and I thought it was really original. Your toys, so do they come to life? But then after that it was like Yeah. Also, do you notice that Tom Hanks wasn't on either one of our lists for anything? I know. I think it's because he just like other ones, he's kind of like the same. And there's so much more to him outside of movies that I'm curious about conspiracy-wise. Yeah. Um, but yeah, he's not he's not on my list. Um and Helen Hunt, she's another one. Yeah, we could just honestly I said I said this last time. We just have to say the name and then it let it land. Yeah. And just let it land. Um yeah, Toy Story was on my list of things to mention with you in terms of that was it. Yeah. So from for Disney, I'm gonna say they just didn't really need sequels to anything. Just leave the originals. I didn't hate Aladdin, the second one, Return of Jafar. I didn't hate that, but I was also like fifth grade. I was really young, maybe younger.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I do really like Aladdin.
SPEAKER_02I like Aladdin too.
SPEAKER_01I even like the live action of Aladdin.
SPEAKER_02I do too. I think that was cute.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That's pretty much it though. Other than Will Smith being the genie, I didn't really need that. That was kind of a lie. And they made him blue. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That was that oh, we forgot Robin Williams. Oh yeah, he's good. He was good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Think he's dead? Is he dead? I don't know. I mean, he did, yeah. Do you think he's dead? I I mean I know them, like I don't pay attention to movie star actors, like death.
SPEAKER_01Well, his was tragic because he he um committed side and uh he unalived himself. He unalived himself, okay. Um but there was a whole like mental health thing, but you hear that among lots of people, and then you find out that they were like doing research on things, like the singer from Lincoln Park, he was doing like a documentary on child sex trafficking, and then suddenly he killed himself. So it's weird.
SPEAKER_02It's weird how those kinds of things happen.
SPEAKER_01It is really weird especially when they shoot themselves twice.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, how's that happening? Oops, missed wrong wrong way. Do it again. We try that one more time. Um anyway, to end on a happy note, uh that was uh Right.
SPEAKER_01That was our BFs. Yeah. The beauty the the BF Awards. BF awards. It's like the BAFTAs, but it's beauty file awards. The beat the buffas, the the double B's.
SPEAKER_03What are there two B's?
SPEAKER_00It's the BFAs. The BFAs. The BFA's, the Beauty File Awards. That was last episode. All our resists.
