Concerts I like well I don't like. I just don't go to concerts.
SPEAKER_01I have been to I think it was Brantley Gilbert and um concert that was in Hershey, and then I went to one other one in Hershey. Who was it? Um Country.
unknownI forget.
SPEAKER_01I mean I've been to concerts. And then I went to Journey. Oh, that's right. And that was this year. And now this one. So was Journey 5.
SPEAKER_03Was Journey seated? Yes, it was inside. And it was seated. That's what I like. I like that. We saw um she's a Christian artist, Lauren Daigle.
SPEAKER_01I've heard of that.
SPEAKER_03That was nice. I wasn't her sheet, also seated. That's my I like that. And I'm okay with that. I think that's a sign of getting older and more mature.
SPEAKER_01So we I mean we have a seat where we will be in Baltimore. Like it is seated, it's not, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_03If you're listening and if we keep this in, Rachel's going to a concert tonight. Yeah. And they're calling for like potential tornadoes. Like really high winds. It said high winds, large hail, and a possible tornado. No big deal.
SPEAKER_01No big deal. It's fine. And who are you seeing? Who's the artist? It's Morgan Wallen. Okay. And then um Ella Langley, which everybody's talking about Ella Langley, because she's like up and coming and they have a song together. Oh. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, maybe I mean, I don't know what it takes to cancel a concert, but I mean, I don't know. That'd be a first. I don't think I've ever been to an event that was canceled.
SPEAKER_01So apparently he had one in like Pittsburgh area and that had gotten cancelled due to weather. Oh. And so these people apparently are now down here. Oh, so that happens again? People drove from Pittsburgh down to the this one here and that's this weekend. And um I yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03If that happens again, then clearly it's not meant to be for those people.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, welcome to the Beauty Files. Yes, welcome. Howdy ho. Um We're doing a coffee chat today, but we don't have coffee. I know. We don't. We're just calling it a coffee chat. You have I had you have at least bottled water. I do. I have no beverage. Uh it's a weird, um it's a weird one. Today it's Saturday.
SPEAKER_01It's smoky out. We still have the smoke from those wildfires coming down from Canada. I have everything Rachel just said is in quotes for me.
SPEAKER_03Air quotes. I just look. I just find it really odd that this is only the second time in the last couple years that that I even knew that was a thing that you could get smoke from wildfires in a different country. Granted, it's connected, but still. Um that's never happened.
SPEAKER_01Not in our childhood, ever. No, like it hasn't.
SPEAKER_03Alarm bells are going off for me.
SPEAKER_01That's weird. Um Canada's has wildfires a lot. It's not it's not new. Like that's that's not new.
SPEAKER_03I just don't I just I didn't think smoke pluming smoke could really affect an entire I I mean honestly the cali or Colorado right now is apparently burning too.
SPEAKER_01Wow. And they are evacuating like different areas. So I don't know what's going on. I don't know. It's very hot.
SPEAKER_03I hope everybody's okay. Um, yeah, well, speaking of hot, okay. My week I had a weird I had a weird and wonderful week, right? Because the two things I chose to do, I can do, but it was just miserable. We went to Hershey Park two days in a row, and I don't think you knew that. That's why I didn't answer you. Uh you text me and I was dead. I was dead. I died.
SPEAKER_01I yeah, and two of the hottest days?
SPEAKER_03Um, yeah, so the heat index was 106 the first day, and the second day was a hundred. So why? Um, you know, you couldn't have just Why? That's such a good question. So as a seasoned pass holder, I can go whenever, right? Right. But if you want to get a discount on the fast passes, you have to get it and then commit to that day. So it's it's done, it's done. Like I'd be and they're ridiculous. Like they're they're so expensive and they take advantage of it it what's the word? It um fluctuates. So depending on time of year? Time of year and even like park attendance. So if it's super busy that day, they'll jack the prices up to like $120 for a fast pass, like unlimited is what they call it. Um, whereas if it's a low day, it'll be as low as like 90. Anyway, it's highway robbery, and they know that you want to do it. They know I want to do it, and after you do it once, that's the only way you want to go to Hershey Park because you're like bougie. You're like, yeah, I want the fast pass. I'm not waiting with these people. But two days in a row? Yeah, two days in a row. Well, we went with two different people. Went with two different, so it was two different experiences. So the first day I didn't ride, so that's fair to say. I only had to buy a fast pass for my child. So it was her and a little friend, and then I went with uh his mom. So that was fine. Uh that was the hottest day. It was unbelievable. Like at one point.
SPEAKER_01So when you say you you went, like what time did you get there and what time did you leave?
SPEAKER_03Okay, so we left here at 10. We got there just after 11. And then we stayed. We I mean we got home at like 10 o'clock at night. No, we didn't, not that day. We got him around 8 or 8.30. So with the kids, like they got after it. Like they did all the rides. We even had dinner there. It was it was lovely. It was very nice. Um, I mean, for what it was. You did feel like I'm sitting there, like in the shade, and I'm just I'm looking at my fingers. I'm like, I have sausages for fingers. You're just you're that that's drinking enough water. Well, we were constantly hydrating. I even had my um my element packs with me. Nobody went to the bathroom. I mean, it's like the ultimate sign that you're I we were when I say we were chugging water the entire time. The park ran out of ice. Like it was, it was nuts. But I'm I'm sitting there conversing with the mom, and I just, you know, and you just feel like your backsweat run down and you think it's a bug, and then you're like, no, it's my backsweat. I had ass sweat, like it was uh just it was unbelievable. It was so uncomfortable. What's really funny though is that I guess because I knew I was going the next day, I I was like ready. Like I woke up, I was like, let's do this. Like, but I was riding that day. That did matter. But here's what's funny that was Thursday. Yeah, because we were at Hershey, and the whole time the mom and I are like, Wow, it looks like it's gonna storm at any minute. But I kept checking the forecast, I'm like, no, it's it's just hazy out. And then as it went, we're we're on roller coasters, and I my eyes are burning. Like, I can't open my eyes on these rides, which is way worse, by the way. Do not ride a roller coaster with your eyes closed. It's worse, it's worse. Um then at some point the mom says, kind of looks like smoke. I said, Yeah, it does. It has like a so I checked the weather again, and then all of a sudden there were all these smoke alerts, and I'm like, What? And neither one of us watched the news, so I had no idea like what was happening, and then I saw the kind of thing, but it was so eerie. Yeah, it just came out of nowhere.
SPEAKER_01It came out of nowhere, it was like it was fine, and then it just was heading home was scary, like someone told me that apparently like where we are um is kind of we're one of the worst to get it because of how it's laid out or something like that. Like we got like some of the most dense.
SPEAKER_03Of course we did.
SPEAKER_01I have no idea. Um makes zero sense, but wonder why. Yeah. I believe you got on rides. I can't do rides. I vomit. I have so much fun.
SPEAKER_03I have to say, it was it was so fun. And I don't know, maybe it was a smoke, something just hit different. It was really it was fun. We had a it was a fun time, but uh that difference, that six degree difference, I could actually tell that it was cooler on the day that where it felt like a hundred.
SPEAKER_01Like I well, it was also hazy too. So it's true. It wasn't like direct that's a good point. I sun.
SPEAKER_03So okay, while we're talking about that, uh first of all, first of all, be super proud of me. I went on to Skin Better's website, selected Exquisite Med Spa, and I bought myself and paid for the extreme fast shipping for the even intensive for uh my face. Oh, did we not have it? I just haven't seen you. So I haven't been there and I knew that I needed it. Have you started? I have. I'm one day three. It's a very nice product.
SPEAKER_01It is, it goes on irritating, is it?
SPEAKER_03Not at all. It's um it's lovely, actually. So I've been doing that morning and night. Just thought you should know. And I wanted to talk about well, first of all, with the smoke. Now, of course, when this goes out, I mean, I would like to think the smoke would be gone. But when it happens again, shouldn't people still prioritize like sunscreen? Absolutely. Okay, I just want to make sure. Just want to make sure because it it's equivalent to equivalent to clouds.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's people think, you know, it's just like winter time. You think that you can't get sun damage and just not sunburn, they'll call it more windburn. And I'm like Okay, yes. I mean, yes, could you actually get wind burn? Yeah, you could.
SPEAKER_03You can, but it's a very different you're it's more chafing. Yeah. Um, okay, so I wanted to ask, it's not everybody, it's only certain brands that I've seen it over time, or maybe they call it something different. But what are your thoughts on pollution drops? I think Barbara Sturum has one, and there's another like bougie brand that does. But what is that a thing or is that marketing?
SPEAKER_01No, so a lot of the products will have um defense. Defense in it. So it's uh even the even tone, but our vitamin C, for instance. So the vitamin C through skin better, it's it has the defense against pollutants out in the atmosphere. Vitamin C also helps to protect against that as well, as well as the sunscreens, a lot of them will have that. They'll also have like blue light protection. I've seen that. Um, the majority of them will have m blue light in them as well these days. So for instance, if you're putting on a vitamin C daily, it's also in their their maestro. So if you're using like a niacinamide and things like that, um, I think that's what irritates you is niacinamides. Um, the maestro you were not a huge fan of, it has a higher concentration of niacinamide, which is really good for your skin, but it can also cause people to have irritation and um breakouts from.
SPEAKER_03I should write that down so I know to avoid high amounts of that.
SPEAKER_01So, and that is one of the main ingredients like in our maestro, which is great for skin balancing and pH balancing, but there are many people that just can't handle high amounts of niacinamide and it will actually irritate more than anything.
SPEAKER_03I wrote that down. So, really, it's not so much pollution drops as it is vitamin C. Yeah, like the that's the actual ingredient. Okay.
SPEAKER_02All right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, using it's more you know. Yeah. Um, I was at your establishment today. I got some much needed disport.
SPEAKER_01I got mine on um Tuesday. And you remember that little dimple I had had? Do you see it? I don't. What did you do? Did you fill it? No. What did you do? I had disport. Oh, okay. So the last time I didn't have Disport, I tried a new product and it just we will not name names. It's not for me, and my face does not like it very much, and I don't know why it was doing some sort of something. You did have a little little dimple on your chin. Very, very odd, but it's not there, right? No, it's not. Because I've never had that in my life, and I it's just not okay.
SPEAKER_03Well, it's I mean, fix is a real strong word, but I I know what you're saying. Although, I mean, I did say to her today, I was like, I need you to fix me. I felt like a like a tired rag. Yeah. Just I went in there and I was like, what is this? And I like frowned for and I had this just this incredible wrinkle between my eyebrows. But it wasn't like the vertical one up and down. It's it's like yeah, it's got it's like twisty. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't care for it. So one of my one of my friends that came in, um, I was I don't know if I can do it. Am I doing it? Can you see anything yet? Just barely. So I was raising my eyebrows and she goes, Oh my god, you were talking out front and you had a line in your forehead. Well, it is funny when she's like, I've never seen it on you before. Exactly. Ever. She's like, you never have lines.
SPEAKER_03But that is the um um the the the commercial, if you will. Like, yes, you have lines, but they're not deep lines and they can go away, and this is preventative. So anyway, I was very uh excited to have that done today.
SPEAKER_01So it's like you look forward to getting stabbed. It's the greatest. Now here's the thing we have the body scan.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01How was your how are your results?
SPEAKER_03I have not uh stepped on it um again because I didn't like my first results and I knew that I didn't do anything yet to make those results better. So I'm waiting.
SPEAKER_01I was working on trying to like increase my my hydration. Not only my hydration, but my food and like I thought I was doing pretty good. Uh oh. I stepped on the scale, y'all. What happened? I lost like almost three pounds. I I was eating more, mind you. I have been eating more. Okay. I have been drinking more. I mean, it went it went crazy. She's like, you're even she's like you're even more dead now than you were. That's so odd. What does that mean? It's like if I showed you You ever get your um uh thyroid checked. I mean, I could have an overactive thyroid, but that's the only thing that would make it. I'm not even like I don't even do anything. You don't have to when you have an overactive thyroid. Here's the thing also, like I was telling her, I'm like, if I eat more protein, I will lose weight faster. I will start to lose and I have been eating more protein, but for some reason it showed that my visceral fat was up and my body fat was up. Oh. Like literally all- Well that's muscle loss then. Right, and my muscle loss was up. Which protein should keep Right. It's and I've been eating a lot more protein lately because I've been craving it. When I eat more protein, you literally can see the definition. Like, I just start to all of a sudden, but I also will notice that the scale starts to change and it's not going up, it goes back.
SPEAKER_03There are, and you might just be, there are those people. I it's like a body type thing, and I'm trying to remember. There we're like it sounds like terrible, it's like something really scientific where there's different types of humans that have different like genetic and bone structure. And we we know those people, right? Like you could you can literally look at like a hundred people and put them into three different groups based on like their body shape. Um, so each each one tolerates things differently. So some people actually do better on a high carb, low protein diet. They can look completely healthy, retain all the things. It's just that their body responds better to more carbohydrates than say the person over here who's more like big boned was always like the term that you heard. But those people don't do well with carbs, they might do better with higher fat. Um even comes down to how you train um in the gym. So like certain people they can just look at weights and put muscle on. Other people have to really get after it and just to make like a tiny little um difference. Yeah. So you could just I wish they one's called like they're like terrible names. Like, do you remember the book series Anamorphs? Yes. It's like that. You're like a something morph. There's a um I'll never remember the names, but I did keto.
SPEAKER_01Do you remember talking about this at all? We talked about this. You did keto. You didn't do well on keto. So I on keto gained weight though. Okay. It was high fat. It was high fat. That's right. Okay. But it's also supposed to be higher in protein. It is. Right. The second I stopped eating keto and I started and I was in ketosis. Like I had the sticks, I was prick, I pricked my finger. Oh, I did the blood.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, I did on the stick.
SPEAKER_01So I was in ketosis. Okay. And I was gaining weight. The second I stopped and I started eating carbs, I lost weight. Okay.
SPEAKER_03See, I I were the we're similar in a way. I didn't mine wasn't the weight. When I was in ketosis, I you always hear like you have mental clarity, and I was dumber than bricks when I was in ketosis. I was angry. I had brought Well, so you were probably hungry. I um yeah, I didn't do well. And then of course you find out that all the studies on keto were all on men. Women should not be I'm sorry, this is if you're still eating keto and you're a woman, I I don't think it's great for your your hormone health and just your female reproductive system. I'm just I'm saying it right now. Um, I was just sitting with someone a couple days ago and they're like, Yeah, I've done nothing different, and I'm just putting weight on. And you know, my first instinct is, well, when Celeste had some blood work. Um, just you know, word to the wise, if you're feeling really good, get your blood work done so that you have that starting point, and then when you are feeling bad, you go again and you have some actual data to, you know, cross-check. Right. Um, it's much easier to pinpoint when you see a difference than like being like, Oh, I don't know, all these things are elevated. Well, or are they elevated? Or is it just is that your set point? So anyway. Um what else was I gonna say to you? Oh, I had um I had an event last year. Actually, did you you guys had an event too? Did you have an event last night?
SPEAKER_01No, it was um And it was laid last Friday. Last Friday and then Saturday during the day too.
SPEAKER_03That's right, that's right. And my event was Saturday last week. Um was it busy? Um other people were busy.
SPEAKER_01Like really busy or like a moderate.
SPEAKER_03First of all, it was very hot and humid, and it was on a blacktop. Yeah so that's already and it's July. I mean, this is kind of what you expect. I will say I was I was very grateful that I got to be inside, um, but at the same time, probably not the best. Just because the the establishment that I went to was shaped like a C. So you walk in and there's the desk, you go straight, there's this this wall that's just dividing the whole place. You don't really see what you're doing until you go around the corner. So you go around the corner, and then you still don't see me because you have to go under around another corner. And then there I was at the very, very back. And they had a um, they had two beds set up for tattoos, like miniature tattoos. And I swear, I think people only came for that. They were flooded. They these people had pagers, like when you go to a restaurant, like and they give you pagers, and when it goes off, you come see them. I mean that that's what they were doing. They had people just congregating. So I had to like come out and be like, hey guys, like while you wait, keep keep coming. So all these people were flooding the entrance, keeping people from coming in because they're like, oh, I don't want to be part of that. So I when I say I had like little to no visibility, and then I just felt like I was just desperate energy because I'm just walking around like a creep, being like, Hey guys, you want your colors done? Come around the corner down the alley. It just it's just not my it's not my I'm not great at sales. So I had to. Two people all day. I got there at 8 30. And then people did leave like two hours early. It was just hot and nobody was coming. The event was supposed to go until four. And I maybe maybe two thirty. I think I was packing up. But it's okay because and and again, this wasn't the place's fault. I I thought I was gonna be alright. I had a window next to me, so for daylight, and then I had my lights. No, I have to have in fact that's why I'm so excited to move into your place and there's no windows. I need complete control of the lighting. Um I'm really grateful I only had two people. They were it was extremely difficult to see the changes that I need to that I look for with with draping. And I'm one person I definitely was like, I'm really not, I'm gonna tell you what I think, but I'm it's not, I don't feel good about it. Um I didn't work it like that, of course. But um, and then after I looked back and ruminated on it for like 48 hours, I'm like, yeah, she should have been a spring instead of you know, and it's just it's it's fine. I have to like I have to let it go. Because it was a super discounted rate, so it's not like yeah, um, it's fine. The other woman I do, I feel like I I it was spot on, but it's just like however, like I said, you have to look for the positive because had I had 10 people, I'd be feeling a lot worse. Like, oh my god, I gave ten people the wrong. Do you think that if you would have been outside? I think outside would have been more even. I think the issue is that the daylight I had was only on one side of the face, and then I had the light on the other side, but it's it's so hard to match. Yeah. And then the it was cloudy, it was hazy, it was inconsistent. All the things. So I'm like, this is just so I need to be. The next event I'm doing is Grey Apple Market in September, and I actually feel better about that event because I the whole thing will be outside. I'll be under a tent, but it'll be more control. And then my full express drape kit will be will be and you're not gonna bring lighting for that. I am gonna bring lighting. I have a little generator, um, so that's an option. It's the same generator. Um, yeah, probably. Which I got, by the way. Yeah. Yeah. You want to talk about your event?
SPEAKER_01Because there was some a little chaotic. Well chaos. Thanks to Amy, uh, we we got our little generator, which worked perfect. Oh god. Um, I think she got like six people or more that day. So this was for permanent jewelry. Yep.
SPEAKER_03And it wasn't the event that you had Friday, it was for the Saturdays event, right? Was that where is Fridays?
SPEAKER_01Dotties is pretty close. It's like 10 minutes. What are they? Like, what is the they have um like meat and ice cream and I think it's like a format kind of thing. Yeah, it's called Dotties.
SPEAKER_00I'm not familiar.
SPEAKER_01So they do vendor events. That's cool. And um like it's the same as kind of like Grey Apple.
SPEAKER_03But because it's outside, you need to provide your own.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and i you have to read the fine print. And sometimes when you overlook that, you're like, oh crap, and then you uh Well that or you take for granted electricity.
SPEAKER_03You just don't it's like not either. Like, why do you I will say Gray Apple did make it a point, like very large print, probably out of experience of people being like, What? Um you need to provide your own power. Yeah. So I was like, oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01And I don't but this was not made like you know what I mean, it wasn't made known at all. Assumptions were made. Yeah, and I also think too, like it's different because you're s we're so used to doing injectables. We don't need like we have our portable fridge, like we know they're not gonna they're not gonna we're not carrying around a big you know what I mean? Like so the things that you need for doing those kinds of services are completely different, right? Um and like yes, a table and a tent, like those are things you have, but then yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean it's it's just another like what do they call that? Not a notch in the belt. Like it's just another thing to learn, yeah. I had to learn the hard way about this lighting is everything. I mean, I it's just one of those annoying things. Like I knew lighting was important, yeah, but I had the wrong lighting. And then not to mention they had their aerial lights, which are super warm. So I'm like, I have warm lighting overhead, and then I have one daylight light that I brought, and then actual daylight that was fluctuating. It was just a nightmare. Yeah. And I even like I took screenshots and video, and I even sent it to my um my group that did my training, and I it made me feel really good because I like in a like a woe with me kind of way, they were like, no, that's a nightmare. They're like, we can't tell from from this. So I'm like, oh okay. Thank God I only had two people. Like I feel if you're listening, which I doubt you are, but if you are, come see me and I'll I'll drape you again and give you a very heavily discounted uh price. But um, so anyway, just one of those things. What are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_01But I mean, some people were still busy, just or was it mainly just like tattooed?
SPEAKER_03It was uh I'll tell you, they well, they had the hair tinsel and they had it was very cute. They had like a mermaid, they call them mermaid tales. It was like, remember when we used to get like the hair wraps? Yeah, so this was just it was already done, and then they just connected it to the top, so and st which I guess is better for your hair. I have no idea. Um they were busy-ish. Mm-hmm. Um Yeah, I I it seemed by the amount of like hugs I saw out in the parking lot, it let me know that it was like friends of friends were coming and supporting. I I don't know. I can't I can't I mean I I never went outside. Lots of tents outside? There were yeah, I would say ten.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Ten. It was it was um it was a very nice event. I was really glad to be a part of it. I just I don't think I would do July, first of all. It was and even if I was outside, I I do think I would have gotten more exposure, more attention, all the things, but I cape you, you have lights on you, and it was you know 85 plus out, and I with the humidity, I wouldn't have done it. Like if if it were me, like just walking around, like terrible, it's terrible. Um, there were people doing piercings, like noses and ears. Outside, yeah. I thought that was really interesting. I've never seen that done like in the wild, like how wild. Um it was it was neat. I I was tempted to get my nose pierced, and I thought no. Nose? No. No, I know I don't have a face for it, no. And I have too many, uh my ears are occupied. Are they? I have actually have them all in today, you can see. Oh, three, and then I have my I didn't I took a.
SPEAKER_01See, I want to do where they're like the itty itty bitty ones, and you can do like a couple of them. That would be cute. Alright, let's go do that. Yeah. You could still do that. You could still throw an itty bitty one in there. Maybe. You just have big ones in there.
SPEAKER_03My ears hurt.
SPEAKER_01That's why I would only do the itty bitty ones with the flat back.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, that's true. Yeah, that's a whole thing now. This whole flat back. In fact, I like flatback. I should probably do that. Yeah, I had to take my I had my cartilage and I had to.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I took that out a long time ago because it just It hurts. Well, I had a flat back in and then I f it I lost the earring for it. And I kept trying to find a different one to put in, and it was just never the right one, and then I put in something that irritated me, and then I started getting infected, and after that I was just like, you know what? I've had this in for so many years, I'm done. Yeah, I And I just took it out.
SPEAKER_03Just put mine back in. It's been maybe eight months since I even did anything, and I'm I'm not sure I'm like that person. Am I a person that has their cartilage pierced? I'm not sure. I don't know where even the three here. I'm not I'm not sure. Um, it is funny though, because you know, when we grew up, it was just the piercing gun, right? One, two, three, and Claire's or piercing pagoda is the other one. Um, so I was really like when it was time to get my child, like she wanted her ears pierced, I was like, no, because my ears hurt and they're sensitive, and it was told it was because of the gun. So like I did crazy research and I took her to um it's a place in New Cumberland, PA. I think it's called like ethereal or something, piercing. And it's it's a girl, and it's all she does is piercings. So she does them by hand, one at a time. And that was not the move for my child. I should not have done that. She's anxious, and I and the first time was fine because she didn't know what to expect. The second ear, I really think we were in there for like two hours, and she was just I don't want to do it, I can't do it, and it was horrible, but um doing it that method I don't think really benefited her. She's still she's sensitive ears, they hurt when she wears the wrong earring. So I'm like, all that. And we could have just gone to Claire's. Yeah. So it's fine. Yeah. Yeah. I don't I don't think she's ever gonna get more more piercing because I think I scarred her.
SPEAKER_01I mean the ear. I took it when she was four months.
SPEAKER_03Okay. See, I that's what I wish I did.
SPEAKER_01Best thing I ever did. And let me tell you something, that child didn't touch her ears until she was five. No, and then she started touching them, and I was like and she'll sit and play with them. But she is still we went and they did one at a time. She had no reaction the first time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01The second one she screamed. Yeah, I mean, I I get it. Well, any further. But But it was after the fact. It was after the fact, and she calmed down real quick and she never touched them. Wow.
SPEAKER_03See, that's what I wish we did. But I mean, uh, there's they're still there. It's not like they closed. She she did a great job, and she just keeps the same earrings in. She never takes them out, and that's I'd rather that. So funny. So, okay. Um, did you watch the movie Obsession? I didn't get that. Unbelievable. Okay, well because it was a weekend. I understand. We're not gonna talk about it. However, I will say 50% of us have watched it. I did watch it. Okay. You will.
SPEAKER_01I will.
SPEAKER_03Um I'm proud of myself because I watched a scary movie. Through the whole thing. I I did the whole thing, and I would watch it again, which is saying something. I without I'm not giving anything away. I just thought the acting was really good. Thought the story was really original and good for being like a scary movie. Sometimes there just is no plot. Um yeah, I did have some disrupted sleep. That's to be expected. And um here I am. So yeah, I survived. Okay.
SPEAKER_01It was good. It was good. I recommend it. Okay. If I wanted my son to watch it with me. He's like, I don't want to say that.
SPEAKER_03I does he like scary movies and like violent movies?
SPEAKER_01He he doesn't mind like violent movies and he doesn't mind scary movies. I think he was just kind of like that and when I wanted him to watch it with me. He's like, Mom, really? I don't know that I should watch that. He said that? Yeah, he goes, I don't know that I should watch that. And I was like, well, why not? And he goes, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03He's like That's very in tune for him. Did he already see it or did you see clips of it? I will say it is um It is how can I word this? Like it's I don't know if he would like I don't know if it would hit him the same being the age that he is. Like I don't think I don't know, I don't think I would either. I wouldn't watch it with him. No. I don't know why. I mean I know why, but I can't say because you haven't seen it yet. Yeah. I wouldn't. I would watch it first. Yeah. Yeah. Or come over here and we'll watch it together.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I could do that. Because I've already seen it. So now I'll be I'll be okay.
SPEAKER_03I'll be watching it.
SPEAKER_01You'll be fine, and then I'll be like, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_03No, I think you'll honestly i yes, it was scary moments, but I was more impressed with I just thought it was a really good acting storyline. There's a lot of like Okay and we'll we'll get into this.
SPEAKER_01Let me let me ask you one thing. Was the ending good? Because that's the one thing I can't like was it a good ending point?
SPEAKER_03Loved the ending. I actually was grinning ear to ear laughing at the ending. I mean it's it's a dark ending, but I thought it was incredibly appropriate? Appropriate and creative, just the outro while the credits were coming up. I really yeah, I thought it was a good ending.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Fair enough. Yeah, I'm not even gonna say if it was good or like happy or sad. Like it was just gonna need an ending.
SPEAKER_01I yeah, I didn't say was it happy, was it sad. I was good.
SPEAKER_03I wasn't like you're right, because some movies they just boy, what did they not know get no the back room?
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, I'll talk about that. Stupid. I just no.
SPEAKER_03Was it just jump scary?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was just jump scary. It was just dumb. It was just dumb. Like it was a dumb, scary.
SPEAKER_03My child wants to see the back rooms.
SPEAKER_01And I I mean, go ahead and watch it. It's just dumb scary. Like there's nothing there's nothing sexual in it at all.
SPEAKER_03Um obsession has sexual moments. Because it like moments fairy graphic No, but more dark because Yeah, like I don't think he should see that. Okay. It just I'll explain off air, but um yeah, but the back room, there's none of that.
SPEAKER_01It's just Okay.
SPEAKER_03It's just creepy and jumpy, scary.
SPEAKER_01Creepy. Like some of the people, characters, whatever you want to call them in it. Oh the creatures or the entities. The entities, like it just I've seen it was very it was like some of those were like sci-fi to me, and I just am like ain't gonna be able to do that. Oh, and we we know you don't like sci-fi. And I was just like, really?
SPEAKER_03Um that's coming out. This would have been last week, yeah. Um there I might have to do like a a voice in where I where I comment on things because we missed like as the week went on, I'm like, oh, that movie should have been in there.
SPEAKER_01Oh, dang it, I forgot that movie. I know, so did I. And now I'm driving and I'm like, oh my god, but I love this thing.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna have to do like the Oscars too. I forget what we called our I think it was called the the BFA Awards or something. Beauty follows.
SPEAKER_01Beauty follow awards, yeah. I don't remember that.
SPEAKER_03And I was like BFF or BBF. Something, one of those. But anyway, I I hope everyone enjoyed that episode. We it was pretty fun. I have I actually I'm editing it later today, so I've been a little I'm really racing against the clock here. I just this is Hershey Park two weeks in a row when she's two days in a row.
SPEAKER_01See, she's and I'm going on Monday. Like it's You're going on Monday again.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I need to go with you sometime. We should go. We should plan that. You don't ride rides. What are you gonna do? Well, I have to do the w I'll do some water park stuff.
SPEAKER_03I see, I will not do water park. This is funny. Oh, because ew. Because ew.
SPEAKER_01Okay, but I mean fine, I'll walk around.
SPEAKER_03Listen, I just won't listen to the water. Okay. The wolves I'll tell you. So the the kids can go rides. And that's great. Water parks, especially outdoor water parks. No, thank you. Okay? I do not want to be up close and personal. We're like half naked, wet, your feet, like are swim diapers working. Like, I just are people even in the appropriate thing. And then you have the people who think this is their Miami, okay? We were walking, there's like one area in Hershey Park where the water park opens. We call it the boardwalk. So people are allowed to be in their bathing suits, whatever, in this this one area, and you have to walk through it to get to some of the rides on the other side of the park. And there are just some people that that this is their, I'm gonna wear my thong bikini. Whether they should or not is not for me to say. But I don't need to see that. And Hershey, like in Hershey, Pennsylvania, seriously, we are wearing like our our string thong bikini. Yeah. I just Are they teenagers though? No. Oh, no, they are not. This was like the one in particular. It was a blue, uh I just it's burned in my memory. Like, and the cellular, I mean, look, cellular is a thing, I get it, but like I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Did you choose a thong? Do you wear thong bikinis? Have you ever? No. Never thought.
SPEAKER_03And I've been to Miami. I just I can't do it.
SPEAKER_01It's not in my thing, and I've noticed this like I think you and I have gotten a little more confident. We've like become more accustomed to our bodies. Like, we'll wear things that show our midriff now. Yeah. I didn't do that when I was younger. Absolutely not.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_01And I wouldn't necessarily look back and say I was fat. I was. No, she was not. She was not. But like, even so, I didn't wear stuff like that.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_01Even in high school. I did not wear, and I was.
SPEAKER_03And low rise was was everywhere then too. And it's so, oh man, it's so funny because that that's all I'm seeing. I'm seeing the teen girls, and they have, and it's just key, it's cute, but I'm like, oh wow. Like, it's here. It's just these low, low, low, super baggy. Like Christina Aguilera when she had the black underneath. Yeah. And then the page. But that was our that was us. That was our exactly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But the pants I have on today when we are lower eyes that I have on.
SPEAKER_01Well, so are these.
SPEAKER_03And they're right at my belly button. So they're hot. They're maybe as well. They're mid-rise for me. I can't. I I don't know. I can't explain.
SPEAKER_01I think because you have lit. Is it you have a shorter torso? We talked about this. Yes. And I have a long torso. Yes. I have a very long torso. And well, you can you have been gifted.
SPEAKER_03I can't I don't know. But I had when low rise was in, I had low rise.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03And they were low. I should not have been wearing them, but I did. So I don't I don't know. I don't know what's happening. I mean, maybe I after carrying a child and I got like hips now. I don't know. I my hips don't lie, I know, but go on.
SPEAKER_01My hips went in. They did not expand.
SPEAKER_03It's so odd. Being a woman is just like wild.
SPEAKER_01My mom did the same thing. Like if you look back, like she had wider hips and more of a butt, and then she had kids, and it she got narrower.
SPEAKER_03That's so weird. I definitely got wider. Which is so strange because like I'm I'm like, oh my god, that is my hip bone.
SPEAKER_01Like I feel like I still have wide hips, but not like they were. Mm-hmm. If that makes sense. I mean people You look proportionate. You're not people look at me and probably think, oh, I'm just tiny. But like you have to think about like what were you? Because everybody changes in you know, yeah. You look at somebody, oh well, you've always just been small. Well, yeah, but your your proportions can change over time. Yes.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, um, I'm officially an old person. Okay. I have my MRI scheduled for my my hip my hip flexor. I went to OSS recently. I shared that on the podcast. Okay. Um I'm getting an MRI. And um pretty happy about it. They're gonna tell me if I have a tear in my hip flexor.
SPEAKER_01You know you're gonna have to have your permanent jewelry removed for your MRI. What permanent jewelry? I got nothing. Oh. I know. I took it off, it was too tight. Oh, oh, you're supposed to be gonna put back on. Okay, I was gonna say that is one thing you do have to do.
SPEAKER_03That's true. Oh, they asked me all the questions. They asked me, oh, and that was interesting. They asked me if I had a tattoo in the two weeks or something. What's that?
SPEAKER_01In the last two weeks. Yeah. Um, if there's any kind of iron in it.
SPEAKER_03But I'm still paranoid. I'm like, like looking at my body, I'm like, I don't think I don't think I have anything. It was just a weird but yeah, that's very true. Permanent jewelry. Yeah, don't don't get it pulled over.
SPEAKER_01Any of those, what are those called? Dermals, like people that get the dermals put in. Like if you ever need um an MRI and you have a dermal, you have to go have it removed.
unknownOh wow.
SPEAKER_03I had a friend that had one in her face. And you know what's funny? She looked so cute with it. Like so cute with it. I um and she was like in her fifties and it just suited her.
SPEAKER_01So I think some people can some people really can pull off pull off. Like just like tattoos. I think tattoos are definitely they look amazing on some people, and some people I'm like probably not your best look. And and again with permanent jewelry or or like you know, in the face, like piercings and dermals and things like that. Like some people look really cute with like their nose. So cute. I'm not a fan of the bowl. Like, I don't care how old you are, it's just to me that's just not. I actually have never seen one that I think is cute. But yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And I've seen a lot of like really pretty girls that have it, and it just completely ruins everything.
SPEAKER_01I also am not like gauging your ears. I just not into that. I have to be. I don't know if it's coming back, but I've just never ever ever thought that that was you can get like surgery to repair that now. Yeah, I never, ever, ever thought that that was a cute look. Um tongue. Same with your eyebrows.
SPEAKER_03You don't see eyebrows too much now. No, but the scars from the eyebrow piercings are oof. Have you seen the new trend with the teens? They are shaving like the end of their eyebrow, like like straight up, so they have a line and it looks so dumb.
SPEAKER_01So what are we coming? The gangsta, that's the gangster look again, we're coming back.
SPEAKER_03I'm not sure what the they're they're figuring themselves out. I just wish they came with a new playbook. And like, please. We we did that. We really were just the first to do anything crazy. I'm just I don't recall I I really do think we just we did everything. Sorry, younger generation. Millennials did it first.
SPEAKER_01We did we did a lot of these things first. It's just like the clothing style and stuff like that. That's what I'm saying. Like, uh We already have all these things.
SPEAKER_03I went to American Eagle um to get jeans and things, and I just was like, I had pretty much all of these shirts. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like like baby doll crochet, like it's just funny. You know, the crochet, like um, two tops and all those things. Like they're all just coming back. I cannot wear them, but I I cannot wear them either. And I tried to get I tried to get um like extra extra small and it just They're like all over the place on on sizing. I don't understand American sizing anymore.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I I don't know what happened. I don't know. I think and this is this is just pathetic, but I think because the average body is now a lot larger, they've altered that so to make you feel that, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And then if you go over to Europe, you're gonna feel horrible because you're gonna be like you're a a double zero in the US, and you're gonna go to Europe and you're gonna be like a six. I was gonna say an eight. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You're right. It's um I that's my assumption anyway. I I have no other explanation of and it's always like it's all or nothing. I've seen teens and kids even that are just the size of this pen, or I see the size of this table. Like it's it's really it's a very odd time.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Well, even kids' clothing. I don't know that they've altered kids' clothing sizes, maybe a little bit. Um, but it is funny, like you go for one store to the next, and a size six here is not a six here. No.
SPEAKER_03And it's like And that's well, that's adults too, though. Yeah. Do you remember the store? Um there's odd numbers. Was it five, seven, nine? Oh, yeah, yeah. Uh-huh. I remember that, yeah. I never went in there because I couldn't fit into anything in there. But I just remember being like, oh, that's where I want to be. I thought it was so cool that they did odd numbers instead of even. And where are they now? They're no more. They're no more. I don't think so. I'd be surprised. I don't know if they do they used to be next to Journeys at the York Gallery and all. They're not there. No, but Journeys is. Journeys is always there. It's been there for I wonder if there's some money laundering going on. Like, there's just certain certain brands, and I'm just shocked that it was still and can afford to be a brick and mortar store. Like that surprises me. Same, I mean, I guess same with like mattress stores. That's always there's like a joke that's a money laundering scheme.
SPEAKER_02Which I wish I thought of it, you know.
SPEAKER_03Why not? I wish I had money that I needed to like hide and figure out.
SPEAKER_02I know. You know, what do I do with it?
unknownWhere do I put it?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I wonder what that I wonder what that feels like. I was just wondering the same thing.
SPEAKER_03Have you seen Breaking Bad? Yes. That's always what I think about. And he's got that um storage unit and it's just money. Yeah. And I remember him being like, Well, what do we do with it? And that's when they opened, I think, the laundry mat. But I yeah, I'd like to know what that feels like. And is it actually stressful?
SPEAKER_01To me, it seems like good problems. I mean, I guess if you can't show that you have it, that could be stressful. So then you have to figure out, well, where do I put it? Yeah. Because it's so much. That's true. I mean, a storage unit seemed to be working out pretty well. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But then somebody could break into it. So it's like Oh, that's true. You know what I mean? Like that's the thing. It's like all this money. But then again, you know what?
SPEAKER_03You can get in put it into a bank these days and people still Well, no, banks ask questions now. If you have a deposit that's over a certain amount of money, they will ask you, where did you get this money?
SPEAKER_01Which I think is very um inappropriate. I agree. I totally agree. Why are you asking me? Don't look don't look at me and ask me why I'm depositing ten thousand dollars.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but they will ask and they'll say, I'm sorry, I have to. And you can say whatever, but it's just so I'd be like, I'm a stripper, I'm a prostitute. Like, what do you it it is baffling? And they'll say, I'm sorry, I know I'm sorry. I just I have to ask.
SPEAKER_00Like, what?
SPEAKER_03I know. Um, I forget what the monetary amount is, but I think it's like $10,000 for most banks, like a day. Yeah. Just make a daily deposit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, daily deposit of like nine nine nine nine.
SPEAKER_03See, we have figured out. So if you want to send us money, let us know. And um we'll we'll handle it. We got it. Yeah, we will manage, we will manage the money to smell it. We'll manage that.
SPEAKER_01And if we get to a point where we can't, like we'll open a laundry. And we'll tell you to stop.
SPEAKER_03No, I don't think I'll ever tell you to stop sending us money. But if you would like to, please DM us and let us know. Yes. Um my god. Oh, anything else to report? Are you excited for your concert? Um No, you're not. I mean, well, the weather would not make me very excited.
SPEAKER_01I am not excited based off of the weather. I am very curious to see what the weather is going to bring today for everyone because I feel like it's a hit or miss. Um As always. Yeah. As always, it's like you it'll say that it's gonna be really, really bad, or say it's gonna be kind of mild, and then you get the complete opposite of those things. So I just feel like it's a wait and see game, and then go from there. Um but I'm gonna be really pissed if I do go, and he's like over an hour late coming out, like he was for the people last night.
SPEAKER_03Where were where was the concert last night? Still in Baltimore.
SPEAKER_01Like it's the same location, two two days back to back, but different opening acts. Um So that will irritate me because I just am like there's I'm sorry. Like, what the f are you doing that you can't come out?
SPEAKER_03Like maybe he had explosive diarrhea from lettuce. We didn't even talk about that. Oh. I mean, I guess that's it. There's nothing else to talk about. Yeah. Amazingly, I didn't get it. So did you read a Taco Bell? No, but it did have a walking taco at Hershey Park with lettuce.
SPEAKER_01But they say that it was mainly like Taco Bell was the main one of the main. They were well one of the um the biggest sites for it. They because they contract with them, they have like amazements, amazing. So and I guess it was it was lettuce, but I forget the name of the like Taylor Farms or something was the main um facility that it was coming from that they brought it back to, and it had more to do with um something along the like soil or water. Interesting. Not necessarily like the lettuce, but it was and it was carried through the bacteria was somehow carried through, and I can't remember if they said like Vces of some sort. Or um it it had something to do with that. So it could have been um because of the you know the people that were farming it, like you like doing things and while they're out there, like just taking a well some people use it could have been the water wasn't here.
SPEAKER_03On fecal matter as as their um manure, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But um it could have been just the water was contaminated, and then that water that was being used because it wasn't but I don't know. I mean, if it was just the lettuce, then was it really just the water? Shout out to Taylor Farms. Yeah, it was like Taylor Farms or something like that.
SPEAKER_03So anyway, um well maybe that's what he had. We're gonna give them the benefit of the doubt.
SPEAKER_01Um, yeah, I don't know. But I just feel like if you have all those people waiting for you.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Like, dude, what are you backstage like?
SPEAKER_03How late was he?
SPEAKER_01It was over an hour.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's that's pretty bad.
SPEAKER_01Well, let us know. Oh well I chose it, it was right around an hour, but like in between. Like, why not just come out? Yeah. Well, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_03Maybe he was having a some nervous poops.
SPEAKER_01I don't know, is he a drinker? Is he into drugs? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. But like Find out next week on the Beauty Files when we find out how Rachel's concert went.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you know, whether or not it was a shindig or uh a failed a failed just cancellation, really.
SPEAKER_03Cancellations, I don't know. Well, tune in next week and find out. Yeah. Uh this has been the Beauty Files. Case closed.
