The parents get so into it. It's very comical. They've gotten in trouble to the point where we've gotten emails like, well, you can't cuss out the reps, like you can't, like how was these kinds? There's like first and second graders for football. Um I find it comical because I mean it it was fine, like nobody said or did anything inappropriate at the game, but the fact that those rules are in place. Yeah. One of the coaches for the other team, um, one little boy was like full force on our team, like going after him to get him out of bounds, right? Because he was gonna tackle him. And he this little boy just couldn't stop himself, and they collided, and then somebody else was coming the other direction, and this little boy flew, and the coach on the other team was like, Isn't he gonna get kicked out for for that? And it's like you could clearly see there was no way that that kid could stop. Like he his little body was like there was he didn't do it on purpose, like he was doing what he was supposed to do and couldn't stop. There was no stopping, like he was going so fast.
SPEAKER_02That makes me think of Forrest Gump, if you remember when he was running and he like ran and then did the touchdown and he kept running and couldn't stop. It just made me think of that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was it was a cute game, but I mean these these boys didn't care that it was raining sideways and freezing out. I guess um soccer is the same way, they won't cancel unless it's a thunderstorm. And the little girls cheered through it, they didn't care. I mean, they had their jackets on and they just kept on going. I mean, kids don't feel weather anyway.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm convinced. But we have had some weather. This is uh what do they call it? Nor'easter. We should probably put our headphones on. Welcome to the beauty files. Welcome. Uh yeah, it is um I mean I love the rain, so I know. Um I'm not upset about this weather, but I I would have preferred to have no plans. Right. Um, I think I've had we both were just discussing this before we hit record, we're just for spent.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02Um I'm fresh off an event yesterday, and then I had a wedding uh immediately afterwards. I had 20 minutes to get ready. I pulled it off. I did, I did do it. I like weddings despite the weather. I haven't been to one in a while. Do you have any more coming up?
SPEAKER_03I don't. I don't. Now, was the bride dishuffled at all that you could tell due to the rain? Or do you think that's a good one? I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02I honestly I have never seen it was almost like she was just a beam of sunshine as she was walking down the aisle. I don't think it could have been a tornado. I think she was just so happy to be married. Okay. She looked beautiful. I was really like, she's not this bride doesn't usually wear makeup or at least when I've seen her, she's never like that. So to see her like all glammed up, her hair was up and just just Did she have an umbrella the whole time? No, not the whole time. During the vows, someone did come over and they have like one of those like clear umbrellas. So that was good. But even like I was watching her hair, her curl remained. It never like straightened. Okay. So I don't know what she had. She had some kind of magic pixie dust on her. Everyone else, though, I was telling Rachel, this wedding, uh, despite the nor'easter, was was outside. So that was that was fun. But it was a very nice uh it was a nice wedding. It's it is a shame that that was the weather.
SPEAKER_03But I had a client Friday that her wedding was yesterday as well. And she was um planning on having everything outside and then w had to rearrange to move it inside, like the ceremony part of it. So um reception was always gonna be indoors, but she was a little bit more. I mean, I get it.
SPEAKER_02I think I was more mad at the weather channel because uh all week I was checking the weather. And this like Nor'easter thing was just like a blip. It was like, oh trucking the nor'easter. Not really s it never updated the forecast until like the day before. And then it was like, oh no, we're having torrental rain all weekend. Like that would have been nice to know. Like my child was away all weekend for girl scales, and I was checking the weather, making sure we had the the right things packed and all the you know, sent her on her way on Friday. Weather completely changed, and she had no raincoat, no boot. Now, my child I even if I pack those things, she would not wear it. Uh she it was fine, everything was fine, but it's like I play the weather channel.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. Yeah, but it's the only job that you can have where you never get fired. It doesn't matter if you're right or wrong. You can just say I can't control the weather. It's my dream job. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'd love to be a weather channel person. I feel like we should, with the technology we have today, be able to tell much quicker and um more efficiently than we do, but uh I am a little relieved that we can't because I think then it'll turn into controlling the weather, which there's already been some conspiracies that they do, but I'm I'm willing to ignore that one for right now. It's too it's just too much. Yeah. It's too much. Um so I had my event yesterday and it was it went it went a lot better. Um I had a I had to do a complimentary thing, of course. So I did a this or that, and I did have a little bit of um it was supposed to be this or that, your best neutral gray or like camel color. And I went to Exquisite and grabbed my drapes and all that, everything I needed, and I got home and I was starting to put things together, and then I'm like, oh, oh no. I grabbed flu and camel, and I had no I have no idea where my brain was. So I was like, what do I do? And I had no time to come back to the spot, I could not. So I thought, well, I'll just reprint a sign. So I just have my sign reprinted, and then I changed the word and it was $12. Okay. So I was like, alright. That's the only thing that went wrong, so be it. It was fine. Um it was good. It was not uh I did not have a line of 70 people where I couldn't breathe. So that was good. And then I had a lot of people that were just like, yeah, I'm good with the complimentary, and then other people that were like, oh no, let's let's dive in, let's do it now. And then I had two people schedule and book on the spot to come back and see me. So that was pretty cool. And then I had another person this morning email me and they're like, I'd like to come see you.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Great. Yeah. Some I'm like, oh my god. Now I'm now I'm scared. I'm like, oh my god, I gotta I gotta like do a thing. So that'll be fun. Yeah. It was it was definitely worth it. But holy moly, like just having to get up, drive an hour, be there for four hours, technically five. It was absolutely pouring when we left. And I was telling you I had to wear my sweatshirt like a turban because I had to go to a wedding after that. Anyway, it's just it was a day. So I'm exhausted. And and how was the evening? You said it was good. The wedding? It was. It was a what does she call it? An elevated western theme. So it was cute. I everybody had boots and like nice dresses and um hats and belt buckles and what are those like things where they look like oh the necklace things, uh for men. Yeah. But I don't know what they're called. Those things. Yeah. Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. We're gonna call them western ties because I don't know what they are. Sure. Yeah, whatever. And then uh my husband, he had a he had a vest on with a jacket. He looked very dapper. Um, I had a velvety, ruffly situation going on, and I had boots, and I had I had a hat. I opted out. I could just I just couldn't do it. I'm just not a hat person. I want to be.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I I don't know. I just feel like they don't ever fit right or look right or you have a smaller head, I feel.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So do you. That's probably yeah. I feel like every hat looks big on me. Yeah. So there's that. Some people are just meant to wear hats. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Some are not. Some just it's just not a thing.
SPEAKER_02It's true. Um you had a day yesterday. Well, more like you had a day home, it sounds. Which was weird. I know. It's almost uncomfortable when you don't have anything. I I have to say, I've been off trisipatide for a month now. Um, I realize why I take it. I am feeling so out of control, anxious. And it's not even like the high level, like my heart racing. It's just more like I think I talked about this on a previous podcast. I couldn't like explain the feeling, but it feels like the walls are closing in on me, and I need to like get rid of everything or like physically like push everything out, and that is high. That is a feeling that I have right now, and I I'm it's very uncomfortable. And I was trying, I was trying to not be on it because I'm working out again, and I'm back to like really tracking like what I'm eating, and it is helpful when I have an appetite. So I was trying to do that, but now I'm like, all right, this is why, this is why I take it. So I'm I don't know what to do. What is your goal? Well, I mean, in which avenue, right? If I'm working out, my goal is to put muscle back on, which requires food. The reason why I started taking Tresivotide was because I was super anxious and I wanted to see if it would help, which turns out it does.
SPEAKER_03So I have like I have like conflicting goals at the moment. So I do think that you can force yourself.
SPEAKER_02I have. Yeah. I have. It's not you mean to eat? Yeah. I I have. It's I mean, I I can do it. It's just not comfortable. No, it's not. But if I have a goal, like if I have a nutrition goal, yeah, I will hit that no matter what. Which I guess, yeah, that's just kind of answer my. See, that's why we verbal process. This is very important.
SPEAKER_03I I also know who you are, and I know that you have been on it and had to do it before and done it. So I feel like if you have something that is really helping you with those other things.
SPEAKER_02That's more important.
SPEAKER_03That might be a little more important. Um, but I mean you could also see, okay, if I give myself another month, is it gonna get any am I gonna be able to change my mindset and make it any better because I'm now working out and putting that back into my routine? Um That's an interesting take. Because if you feel like, okay, I started working back out again, my endorphins are going, they're doing better. I might be happier. You might be happier, which might help with that. I don't know though, because you were working out when you were on it before. Yeah. So that's why that's why I was gonna say my next thing is you could try and say, okay, let me see what happens for a month, another month, and how I do. Or you could just say, wait a minute, I have done this in the past, and I still got the results that I wanted without the anxiety and the angst. Which would be nice. Which would be nice, and I was able to push through. Okay. So I'm there for that. There's two different ways that you could look at it, and you know, maybe maybe also you've grown a little. So, you know, there's there's different ways to look at it and to decide. Here, here's how I've grown.
SPEAKER_02I today put in my schedule all the days I'm free this week and what rooms I'm going to purge a bunch of stuff. So I'm not quite sure of that. That's my point. I don't know if that's I think I might need to just take maybe I'll maybe I'll start again with another like really low dose and see if that's enough. Oh, you guys. Oh, I have an update. Yeah. This is this is growth. This is growth related. Okay. It's also really funny. Okay. I mean, it's funny now. It was I guess it was funny then. It was more embarrassing.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02So I um shout out to my friend Renna. Um we we hit a new a new um what do you call that? A new something in our friendship. What do you call that?
SPEAKER_03A level? A new level.
SPEAKER_02Yes, a new level. Um oh, speaking of what I was about to say, your child's coming down. Okay. Alright, we're we're back. We had a a brief interruption, if you will. Yeah. New level in your friendship. Uh I pooped at her house. And um, it was a really big deal because I don't do that. And it was one of those, like, had I have been there for like even even a half an hour longer than I was, I would have been like, hey, something's come up. I have to go. And then I would have had that race hum where I'm like blacking out because I'm gonna poop my pants. It was it was that really half an hour. If that would have happened a half an hour later, but it didn't. My visit had only just begun. And I was like and she listens to the podcast, so she heard the previous story, and oddly enough, that is the friend that I had dropped off. Yeah. And she invited me in. I was like, no, I'm good. I gotta I gotta gotta go home. Yep. So she's aware of the um the situation. And uh I learned two things. I learned um I learned that everything was fine. I did the thing successfully and I just made a joke out of it, and it I got over it. It was fine. I announced it, she was very happy, you know, pro uh not proud, that's not the right word. Honored. Yeah. And I think I have a an egg not allergy, but intolerance. This is like the fifth time I've eaten eggs and have had this like instant awful reaction, we'll call it. So I've learned. I'm I'm gonna decline eggs. She fed me eggs. This is what happened. And I did say I am curious how I will respond to this meal because I have a suspicion that eggs bother me. And she was like, That's okay, you know. She's she has an accent. I love her accent. I can't mimic it, I won't try. But she's like, whatever, whatever happens, and and it happened.
SPEAKER_03And um now is that anything that has egg in it or just specific egg by itself? Just eggs by itself.
SPEAKER_02Scrambled and over easy are two methods so far that did not pass inspection in my body. So it's new. So omelets? I don't know. I'm scared to try unless I'm in a controlled environment. So But it was a really big deal. I don't have you ever pooped at a friend's house? Yes. Really? Yes. It's just like a huge thing in my head that this isn't normal or is this not normal?
SPEAKER_03I think it's a bodily function, and sometimes we just need to go. Have to go. And as embarrassing as it seems, like they go in their house. I know. I know. And so that's how I try to look at it now. You don't want to leave skid marks, you don't want to all the things clog the toilet, like those kinds of things.
SPEAKER_02I just think of the dumb and jumper.
SPEAKER_03You're you're you're always praying, like, oh, I hope they have a good uh system uh in their house.
SPEAKER_02I it's funny, like being a homeowner, right? Like you have to put yourself in your guests' shoes, right? So, like, and that's for everyone, just have have a little toilet scrubby thing right there. Have that. Extra toilet paper. I even have mouthwash in my bathroom, like the powder room for people. Uh, because you just yeah, just never know. Like, yeah, at what point is it like I should be getting a tip? You ever been to a bathroom that you have to tip someone?
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah. Yeah, I don't like that. I don't like it either.
SPEAKER_02But I don't I don't like it in the women's bathroom because first of all, depending on where you're going, what woman is carrying cash? She's on a date, like she's not she doesn't have cash. That's just not a thing. So to have a bathroom attendant in the a nice bathroom, you're like, uh and not end, depending on where you are, you're not always taking your purse with you. Yeah. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I do. I I find that very interesting. Now I always have extra toilet paper and things like that. I don't always have like a plunger in my bathroom. No, I don't think I have a plunger. And I use the disposable like cleaning ones, so those are under the sink, so I don't like you know. Yeah, or we stock and and and I always have like bathroom spray in there. So spray is huge. Do you use poopourri or do you have a spray?
SPEAKER_02Or do you have a pre spray?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Do you think poopourri works or do you think it's a gimmick?
SPEAKER_03I think it works.
SPEAKER_02I think it does.
SPEAKER_03I think it works.
SPEAKER_02I think it's a pre-spray is is nice.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I don't have some like, you know, in those nicer bathrooms, deodorant and all those things. I don't I don't know that in there. So and I don't have mouthwash. And I wouldn't have to I just also think about especially in a smaller bathroom space.
SPEAKER_02Well that's true. Space is always like a part of it. I have to consider space. Yeah. Because then it's just it looks a bit much. And then you do kind of look like you're like uh an outfit, like a little convenience store. So Yeah. So anyway. That's that was big big deal for me. This was a big week for me. So I don't I don't think I'll do it again. Um I wasn't I wasn't um You hope you won't do it again. I hope I won't do it again. I'm I'm tired of being in situations. It's there's so few they don't happen often anymore because I'm better at tracking things and what I eat, but I don't like not being prepared or in control.
SPEAKER_03It's a real I I mean my my child has a thing where she especially for here for some reason, like just has to go. She loves pooping at this house.
SPEAKER_02I mean that's that's why when she came down, that's why I said this is related because I knew I knew it was happening. It is look, it means you're comfortable. That's that's what I'm gonna tell myself. And I I don't it is interesting though, because kids definitely have an easier time listening to their bodies. It's like, well, I don't care where we are, I'm going. So there is a there is a shift. Well, um, while we're on the point of we're on this topic, um something else developed, and I'm uh like really not happy about it, and that is my beautiful, precious pastry discovered the fireplace, and she really loves how she can dig all of the decorative like coal pieces. And she um has decided that she's gonna uh make that a litter box. Oh I I have like I like I. So we have to clear the entire thing out. I don't I haven't even looked into what to do. ChatGPT was like, do not turn on the fireplace. I'm like, well, we have definitely that was our first thing to do. Because I'm like, let's burn it all away.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's stinky.
SPEAKER_02I guess I it was stinky prior, so I'm like, this isn't any worse. Anyway, we're getting a a thingy, um, a fireplace screen. Yeah. But I I just she's so perfect. And then she had to do this like it's like a sandbox. Oh, and it's so funny. ChatGPT thought they were being really funny. They were like, oh, that's the paradise for her. I was like, and they had like a little laugh face. I'm like, this is not funny. Like, why are you making light of this disgusting problematic issue?
SPEAKER_03Because it knew you were having a mental break.
SPEAKER_02Unbelievable. I was I was like, there's a time and a place, chat, and it is not now. You're like, you're just pissing me off, even more. I mean, truly, like, anyway, clearly, I was very upset with chat.
SPEAKER_03Chat does not know you as well as it must think that it does.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You know what? And that's that's on him. He needs to be he needs to be checked. Yeah. Like, no, no. Also, I um it's okay. I'm gonna tell you a conversation I had yesterday. I was talking to a girl at the at the event, I was doing her analysis, and somehow we were talking about Chat GPT. Oh, well, of course we were, because she said, I try to do my analysis on ChatGPT. And I was like, Yeah, it's 50-50. I said sometimes it gets it and sometimes it doesn't. And I sent something and I said it my chat's a he. And she was like, Oh, no, no. My chat is a she. Like real, not even being playful. It was more of like a correction of like, why on earth would you insinuate that chat's a he? I don't know, it was really, it was kind of uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_03I didn't know where to go. I didn't know what to do. I I feel like that's also like people that have references to their vehicles as male or female and then name them. That's true. I mean, you have to think about this is chat is almost like the other half, if you will. It is your confidant, it is your, you know, it's like they say the avatar, like people go into these dating worlds and they don't know who they're actually dating and it's like some random person. Um, you know, if you think that you're talking to a person because that person is responding back to you in a way, in a manner as to which your friend would respond back to you, you will develop a relationship with that it is yeah, that's a good point. Said virtual person.
SPEAKER_02I think I only call mine a he. I don't actually think I'm talking to a guy. Like I have yet to really personify it. Like I I still have the I still have the n the knowing that I'm talking to a competitor.
SPEAKER_03Didn't we ask it? And what did it tell you it was? I did. Did you say he or she? I said she. Mm-hmm. And so did yours, right? Yeah. Yeah. I don't reference chat as a male or female, I just say it's chat.
SPEAKER_02Well, it is. It is just so I don't literally become I say he because chat almost sounds like Chad.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. I feel like if I assign a gender to chat, that makes it a person, and it's not. It is literally a virtual device pulling from different areas in the internet. It is not a person, it is nothing more than a AI system. It's a tool. That is used, yes, as a tool to pull from various different places on the internet. So I will not give it that much power. I like that. To yeah. I like that a lot. Give it gender-specific.
SPEAKER_02Well, I misgendered my chat in front of this woman, and she was not playful about the correction, and I thought that was really alarming. Just I don't know. Interesting, interesting characters. Not all were interesting, some were fine. Yeah. But yeah, I don't know. These events.
SPEAKER_03In the world of customer service, we are going to find a variety of interesting characters. Intellect. Um that will some make us feel like we know exactly what we're doing, and others will make us just shake our head for a minute. And I like that. Wonder.
SPEAKER_02I got an email yesterday from my website. An email. It had no This is exactly what it said, verbatim. Where are you located? And I was like, okay. So clearly she was on the website. So I copied what it says in my website, and I'm like, I'm here at this location. Responds again. I want to book a color session. Still, no name, no. I'm like, great. Here, here's my this, here's that, like, what do you want to do? And then she just replies back with the date. I'm like, okay, I got you. I just um we'll say I I just makes me laugh. Like, how I don't know, do they think they're they're like not talking to a person?
SPEAKER_03I I mean through a website, I think unless it's directly going to your email, which I'm assuming it was directly going to your email. Yeah. I think so many people are so used to AI responses. That could be that's true. They just go straight to this is what I want, give it to me. So interesting. That's true. I didn't think about that. Yeah, it's pretty much just like, okay, I'm gonna be blunt and to the point because no room for fluff. There's no like it's you're not a person, anyways. Like, this is what I need, so please tell me what you can give to me. Um, which I mean fair because we deal with that all the time. I mean, think about phones. You know, you call somewhere, how often do you actually get a person that answers before you have to go to Operator? Yeah, how many times or how many times are we or hit one for this, two for this, three for this, and then you get to that section. Hit one for this, two for this, three for this. That is really annoying. And you go through that whole system. Even now to this date, like you go online and it will typically it starts out with AI responses before you come in contact with a human.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I have noticed that.
SPEAKER_03It does get to a person, but it takes not always, I guess. Yes, and it can take a few okay tries like tries before somebody actually intervenes, a true person, and you're actually getting the responses and the answers that you need. So that could be why. I guess it's fine. You know, at this point, it's like, well, this is what I can do. If you can't accommodate me, yeah. Um, then I'll find it somewhere else. And and everybody wants it instantaneously. So that is the other thing that you have to look at when it comes to customer service, is most people want instantaneous, they decide, oh my gosh, I want to do this tomorrow. If they can't get it tomorrow from you, from you, they'll look elsewhere, and if they can't get it from anybody tomorrow, from anywhere, a lot of times they either don't pursue it anymore, or they hold out and wait until they reach out and say, I want it today again. So it's either they completely let it go.
SPEAKER_00Interesting.
SPEAKER_03And then when it hits them again, like I really want to do this, they'll do the same thing. Um, or they just we'll let it go forever if if it's not something that uh is truly that what they want. Are you the listener? Are you like that?
SPEAKER_02I'm curious. Let us know in the comments.
SPEAKER_03I am somebody who I'll want something and typically I will research it and wait and wait and wait because I always do everything for my kids and everybody else first. And then I'm the last person, and then if it does present itself right in front of me, then I'll be like, you know what? I'm gonna do it. And then everybody thinks that I'm spontaneous because I do that, and it's like, actually, everybody's been wanting to do this for a long time. It just has never been presented in front of me at the right place and right time.
SPEAKER_02I'm the opposite. Once I get an idea, I except I have to find the best of it. So my research is research and compare, research and compare, keep comparing, and then uh I will. Like I've that search will not stop until something is booked. Yeah. Or I have the thing.
SPEAKER_03And I will do that to a certain extent. I think it just depends on what it is. Yes, it depends on what it is. Yeah. Um, you know, certain things don't really require as much research as others.
SPEAKER_02Um per se, like I mean, let's just say Like if I'm like closed shopping, okay? I'm not going to a hundred different websites. I will select one and then while I'm there, I mean, I'm gonna keep buying some stuff. But if I find that it's only one thing I like, I'm actually gonna ditch that cart and go somewhere else because I'm like, well if I'm making an online purchase, I want to get a couple things. So it's not just one thing. Right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So it really just depends on like, okay, what kind of thing is it that you're interested in? Is it something you're buying, something you're getting done for yourself? Is it something minor, major? Because if it's a minor thing, you might not do as much research into it as you would if it was something major. That's true. And a lot of times we also learn if we've done something big. Mm-hmm. And each time we do it we investigate more.
SPEAKER_02Yes. I I can speak to that, yes.
SPEAKER_03And I can speak to that as well. Um They both have knowing smiles. Yes. Um so you know, I do think that that also comes with experience and age. I like that.
SPEAKER_02That's true. I I still think I'll be more personable no matter what. No matter how old I get, I think I will still be like, hi, so-and-so. I'm interested in blankety blank. Let me know when is a good time. Yeah. Signed. How is your face doing today, by the way? I'm so glad you asked. So when was I there? Thursday. Thursday, I had a I'm saying it anyway. It was a salmon sperm. Apparently, sperm, you're not allowed to say. It's DNA. Yes, it's a salmon sperm, guys. I had a salmon sperm uh microneedling microneedling service, and I was definitely swollen.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02Um, I was swollen for a good two full days, but it was not like crazy swelling. It was just kind of I could tell. Right. Um, redness was fine. Yesterday I woke up with a little bit of the scalies. Okay. But I put on the plated and it was fine. And well, moisturizer and sunscreen too, but it it never resurfaced. This morning, more scalys, but I did the same thing, and it's still it's still at bay. Yeah. But I think my skin looks pretty good. It has like a I have some texture. A little bit of dryness right now from it. Yeah. Um, but I so far I was very, very pleased. Okay. I am expecting more peely's but um not as bad as previously. Because it's been it's been a little bit since I've had our microgen. It has been a little bit, so I was curious to see. Me too. So I'll let you know. It is this area is typical, right? Like where I have the dermatitis, I always get scaly there. But I nothing on my cheeks yet. Usually for whatever reason, my cheeks will do it too, but I haven't I haven't done it yet.
SPEAKER_03And you were a little more tender when I did it this time, even though you numbed for a while too. So only in certain spots.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, I don't know. I mean, you know, I'll do it again. Yeah. If you're between like certain things, like hydrofacials or peels, just start with microneedling.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02It's really, it's really a wonderful service. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It is, and I think that um a lot of people underestimate it.
SPEAKER_02I think because it's not like a it's not like a facial where it's like you what are we talking about? That instant gratification, right? It's not like you open your eyes and you're all like glowy. The glowy comes like a week later. Yeah. You will be tomato red usually. Not always.
SPEAKER_03I wasn't, which is really interesting. Um, but so a lot of that comes with the salmon DNA as far as like the healing agents that are in it and how it helps just along with the lines of exosomes with pleated um and all of those things. So it is supposed to help to increase that tenfold. That makes sense when it comes to um the healing process and regeneration of uh new collagen.
SPEAKER_02Sign me out because I was very excited. Um actually, this is a good segue to a topic for whatever. Um we are rolling into a different season. We are. We are now, it is officially fall. Um what are like some really easy like okay, in the summer, skincare is usually like all about keeping your face clean and hydrated, right? And sunscreen, yeah. Well, and sunscreen. But the yeah, but mainly the clean because of the layers of sunscreen, this all the things, right? Chlorine and salt and sweat and yeah. Um, so now that we're shifting, right? It's getting a little cold. It's not quite winter. We'll do a winter segment. Yeah. When it's when that's relevant. Um, but what should people be like switching in their routines right now?
SPEAKER_03Um, so right now people are probably gonna start to notice that, first of all, their hair, my everybody's doesn't realize this when it comes to their hair shedding cycles. You have to think about it in terms of your animals, how your dogs shed. Um, our body does the same kind of thing. Um, and we do have a heavier shed in the fall and in the spring. Um, so pay attention to that. With that, also comes some more dryness. We're not having as much of the humidity that's out there that's helping our heat is starting to turn on, so um, things are starting to dry out more frequently. Um, you might have to change how you're exfoliating your skin. While you might be using more chemical exfoliants in the summertime, in the wintertime, you might need more physical exfoliants.
SPEAKER_02I was about to ask that.
SPEAKER_03A chemical exfoliant might be just a little too dehydrating for you. Um What's a good physical exfoliant?
SPEAKER_02Would that be like a dermoplane session?
SPEAKER_03Um, you could do dermoplaning for physical exfoliant while you're at home. Any kind of beady, sugary type, you do want to be cautious with certain ones. But any kind of physical exfoliant like that or a good mask that's gonna just sit there. Okay. Um, like a light enzyme mask that you could do at home or exfoliating scrubs, um, those are really nice as far as a physical exfoliant. A chemical exfoliant's gonna be like a higher end like peel pad or something like that that you can put on and leave on, whether it's a salicylic, glycolic, or retinol, something like this along those lines. You might also be changing um different products that you're using in your line. Um, you might be needing to add in more corrective from damage that was in the summer. Yep. Um, so those are the things that you might be starting to look at as far as changing. Um, I do think that some people will find a certain line and feel like that that's their line and that's what they want to stay with. Um, I do think that lines can be interchangeable and that you might like certain things from certain lines and they might work really well for you and other things just don't, and that's okay as well. Um I say if you can get samples, if you're somebody who you feel you're very, whether you want to call yourself sensitive or reactive, um, if a place is gonna offer you a sample, then try the sample and see how you respond. Um if especially with a retinol, you're gonna see a response pretty immediately. Um it's you're gonna notice if you're getting irritated from that, usually from one chance. Anything that has an active ingredient in it, um, you're pretty much gonna see how you're gonna respond pretty quickly. I'm ready to try retinol.
SPEAKER_02I've not been on using retinol in probably it's been like a year. Yeah. Because I was very, I was having, well, you know, I was having a crazy skin crazy. Yeah. Um, but I feel like I could try again. Yeah. But I'm scared.
SPEAKER_03Um, retinols can be added in slowly. Yeah. Um they don't need to be just you don't need to plunge right into it.
SPEAKER_02I could do once a week.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. You could do that. You could do that. Um, and a retinol is always in the evening. You're always washing it off in the morning and making sure you're using a sunscreen. There are people that find that they're just out in the sun too much. Um, and they're not reapplying their sunscreen, so they just don't do retinol in the summer. So I mean it's fine if you don't and you want to start doing it again. Um it's but now would be a good now would be a good time. Yeah. Fall, winter, even spring, you know, before the sun isn't blaring at you. Um is is a good time. It is a good time.
SPEAKER_00Um Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I like that.
SPEAKER_02Anything else people should be doing? I know we've talked about how peel season is like all year round, right? And so is microneedling. But usually for marketing purposes, they'll say it's time again so that you start booking.
SPEAKER_03But it is true though. I mean it is, I mean, honestly, i peels can be done depending on the s severity, the depth of the peel all year round, but more deeper, medium to deep peels are better off being done in the fall and the winter and the spring. Again, if you're gonna be doing corrective services, you also need to make sure that you are protecting yourself in the summertime. So if you're somebody who's like, oh, I want to fix it, you get them done, it looks great, but then you decide you're not gonna follow through with instructions about reapplying your sunscreen and making sure you're wearing hats and all of the things in the summer, don't be surprised if you notice that they come back.
SPEAKER_02So it's important to know thyself.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02And understand that this is not a one one and done fix situation. Right. You have to do you have to do your part, as they say. Yeah. Um so that's always a common thing, too. It's like, oh well, now that it's not summer, I don't need sunscreen, right? Um no, I think Rachel will will say you need sunscreen.
SPEAKER_03Every day, every day, yeah, all year rounds. Sunscreen is it it is there, it is for a reason. And also most sunscreens these days have um blue light protection. So interesting. Um from screens that we're constantly looking at every single day. Um so again, they have found that that also is causing different responses to our skin and breaking it down over time.
SPEAKER_02So for our eyes, too. I know blue blue light is good in the morning, it's bad at night. Yeah. It's fine. It's fine. We're gonna we're gonna keep it light this episode. I promise. Yeah, keep it super light. Um, oh, I've um I don't think I mentioned on here. Uh podcast has been moved to Mondays.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_02We're on Monday's podcast now. Uh I forgot that I had the power to do that. I was trying to like cram this deadline of Sunday and hating my life, trying to do all the things, and I'm like, wait, wait. We can alter that. We can just change the day. And also, it's really good because you can listen to it on your morning commute.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Whatever you got going on, we're we're here for it. But yeah, we're all Mondays now.
SPEAKER_03I just super exciting. I, you know. So you can wake up with us on your work week, you know. How exciting is that? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think it's exciting.
SPEAKER_03So I find it very exciting as well. It is.
SPEAKER_02Look how excited we are. Or like monotone. I'm very excited. Yes. Very excited. That's great. Um my goodness. What do you have going on this week?
SPEAKER_03This week is not as chaotic as last week. Okay. Um always meetings. I feel like I only have, and I'm gonna say this, I only have two children, but for some reason, there are times where I feel like those two children are like ten children.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Um, because we're constantly going in different directions for them. Uh I have appointments literally, I think, every week in October for my kids, one of them. Um so that is uh Something that I have to remember. And they're just like sporadically on my calendar. Um, and I'm like, what is this one for? Didn't I just go here?
SPEAKER_02I started color coding the events in my calendar because I'm starting to same. I'm feeling like there is so much going on, and just seeing that little they were all the same color in my calendar, and that that was not enough. Like I need I need to know specifically like what kind of mental state, what do I need to look like for some of these things?
SPEAKER_03Like yeah, it's a lot. I also um I think we talked about at the event we had gotten piercings. Did I talk about that? How yeah, so we're we're getting over that.
SPEAKER_02Um what happened?
SPEAKER_03So my daughter had her bottom ears pierced for four months or at four months old. Right. Um, and so they had been healed for years. Not a big deal. Literally years healed, we didn't have any issues with them. Get the second hole pierced. And she's older now. Mm-hmm. She's, you know, aggressive. Um she likes to wrestle. And then I mean, like she just got energy. She's energy and she's like running around and jumping and like wants to wrestle and be a girl and be a tomboy and you know she's living her best life. She's living her best life. Yes. Um, so she had her ears pierced, and in the first couple of days after having it done, she got it caught, got one of them caught on something and came home and was like, it hurts, and was bleeding a little bit and had to clean that up. I'm cleaning them every day, not thinking anything of it, not paying attention to her first hole because those are done. She goes to bed, she fights it the next morning, and I'm like, ooh, they look all angry. I ended up having to take her to urgent care because her first hole actually looked ten times worse than her second holes did, and she ended up getting like a major infection. Wow. So we ended up having to take them both out. Ugh. She was really upset. Um, and I was like, Well, you can probably get the first ones back in.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'm hoping. There's no way that we'll close that fast. And so we we have been able to get the first holes in. Okay. And then she wanted me to try to get the second ones, and I was like, it has only been like a week and a half. Like, I'm like, there's no way, honey. There's just no way. And I tried to poke it a little bit, but I wasn't pushing anymore. Yeah. Um, so yeah, we had to do antibiotics and start cleaning them. So got over that. Then we had to get her new glasses, have another appointment for her eyes. I have all these appointments coming up, and um, not for me. So how about you?
SPEAKER_02You need an appointment. Um, I actually have a ton of appointments this week. I've been staring at my calendar trying to get it together, and I think I actually did myself a disservice because I think I'm getting my weeks mixed up. Um well I started working out again. So now that's in the calendar. I should probably I should what color should that be? Green.
SPEAKER_03Working out.
SPEAKER_02Energy. Blue, grey, mm, red.
SPEAKER_03What's energy? Energy. It's energy red.
SPEAKER_02Like red is I don't know. See, that makes me have like anxiety. Orange. I know I hate orange. Yellow. Yellow. I could do yellow. It's bright. Okay. I could do yellow. Yellow's good. But now that's that's three days a week, which is very exciting. Um, my child has three different extracurricular activities that she's involved in, and that takes up three nights this week. Lord help me. I have one child. My goal was one activity per child, okay? I didn't have any more children, and now I somehow have three children with the amount of activities that she has. So I am a little a little burnt out with that. So we're doing that. Um, yeah, this this week, it's actually it's next week. Next week's bananas. I have I have some color analysis appointments. I have a lash appointment. I have a hair appointment. Yeah, I gotta get through next week and then and then I'll be happy. I'll be feeling my best self. But yeah, I um I love this time of year, but man, it's like you're robbed with busyness.
SPEAKER_03Like it's just nuts. Yeah, I think it fall comes and you think your kids are going back to school. Oh, it's yeah, it gets a little easier. It quiets down a little, and it's like, yeah, no. No, it it it doesn't. And then you hit are hit with holidays. Holiday, holiday, holiday, holidays.
SPEAKER_02Do you think all of these things are geared around the fact that like no one really likes the cold, so they just have to keep themselves busy to get through?
SPEAKER_03Like, what like what is that? I mean, maybe for the northern states, but I mean the southern states still celebrate these holidays as well. So Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_02I don't know, because then that's like it's almost like January through March is just forgotten about, which is the the harshest time of year here. I had I did hear a really funny idea. It was like Christmas and Valentine's Day need to change. Yes. And it's because you just see your family at Thanksgiving. Right. Why do you need to see them again a month later? I'm like, okay, that's valid. And then it's just like a little like end of the year kind of thing, Valentine's Day, you got you're in a new relationship, whatever. And then February is when it's cold and miserable and like everyone's ready for spring. Why not like be cheered up by by Christmas?
SPEAKER_03I mean, it would give us more time.
SPEAKER_02And then it's been a minute since you've seen your family. So then I I'm into it. There's no like actual proof that it was Jesus' birthday on December 25th. Like, so I don't think it's tied to that.
SPEAKER_03I think a lot of people think it is. I think so too. But um, but yeah, I mean, I mean I can see that we should spread them out more. I just it's not gonna be a good one. I'd been it's not.
SPEAKER_02Well, of course not. Are you kidding? It would the the world would end if someone proposed that we actually change Christmas. The world almost ended when we tried to what do we do? Like the the whole like clocks back and all that stuff. I I don't even know where we stand on that. I don't think we're changing them.
SPEAKER_03I Wait, are we supposed to already?
SPEAKER_02Uh a hundred times by now. I've just No, but I mean when it was supposed to be when we sp sprang forward.
SPEAKER_03Something was supposed to but I think for October when is It's on Halloween that we're gonna fall back. Is it Halloween? Are we actually falling back?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I don't know why you don't just fall back a half an hour and then keep the time as it is. Why do we fall back anything? Well, I don't know. What's the proper time? Is it when you fall back or is it when you spring forward? If no one can remember that, then we need to just fall back a half an hour and just stay there. That way it meets in the middle on both parties.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. I know while we'd have to look at, I think, what state is it that doesn't change at all? There's one. Um the clocks never changed. It was like that all the time.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna ask my friend, my AI tool. I want to see what they say. Thinking two states generally do not change their clocks for daylight savings. Oh, this is so interesting. Okay, Hawaii. Most of Arizona. Okay.
SPEAKER_03How can you how can you how can half of you like I'm trying to think if if it's the southern that doesn't change and the northern does?
SPEAKER_02Oh no, it's actually more nuanced. One exception. It's the Navajo Nation in Arizona. They do not observe daylight savings. Um it's not as many as I thought. I don't know. Does that apply to countries too? Isn't there a country that doesn't do it?
SPEAKER_03Because the reason behind the whole world doesn't fall back.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, look. Actually, most countries in the world do not change their clocks.
SPEAKER_03So I think the reasoning behind it was because of agriculture.
SPEAKER_02Yes, farming? It was Benjamin Franklin, and he was like, farmers need more time. Yeah. And I'm sure that's true, although what's true in history? What's the real reasoning behind it? Um, Daylight Savings is mainly concentrated in Europe and North America with a number, a smaller number of countries elsewhere. So interesting.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I don't know. I don't think that'll ever be sorted out because, like anything, they'll they'll make it political and then you're off to the races. Yeah. So, but I said it's a light, it's a light podcast episode. We're just catching up. And we have no beverages, no coffee, no cocktails, no water, no ice clanking in the microphones. Sorry guys. I know you love that. Um we'll have a topic next week. And let us know what you want. Do you want us to have like coffee chats like every other episode and then a topic? Like what's um I'll put up a poll just to get some feedback because I'm curious because I feel like there's no consistency. Like everyone listens the same. I'm just curious what what do they prefer? Do they want a half and half, like topic and then catch up, or I'll I'll I'll put that out there. Yeah, let us know.
SPEAKER_03We're curious. And again, if there's specific topics that you're truly interested in or wondering about, um we did get a lot of good feedback on the hosting one.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I will say. Good. So thank you everyone for your feedback.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I mean, we should do with all the holidays coming up, like what? Oh what is the appropriate what is the appropriate way to host?
SPEAKER_02Who should host? Actually, even bigger than that, how can we actually enjoy Christmas?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that too.
SPEAKER_02Because I don't know how to do it. Every time I think in my head it's gonna be kind of like my robe situation where I come down and my robe, my messy hair, and I get my coffee. I think that with Christmas. I think, oh, it's gonna be the fireplace and music and just this, I don't know. But it's just like we gotta go! So-and-so's coming over. And yeah. Yeah, and um, yeah. Um, let us know. How do you slow down Christmas? Maybe that's what it is. Oh, I gotta start thinking about that now. I mean just the holidays in general.
SPEAKER_03Also, yeah, when do you start shopping for all of these? You don't want to know.
SPEAKER_02I I know, I mean, I have a I'm usually done. I'm usually done, like wrapped in everything by December 1st. But I don't I will say last year was not that. It was like, well, it was at least two weeks into December. So even I wasn't able to pull that off. But this year, I can't even think of a single thing anyone needs. So I'm I'm more like I'm more like, I don't want to get anybody anything because I don't want anything.
SPEAKER_03I think the problem is that we all get what we want.
SPEAKER_02It's cons we're in a consumerist um nation. Like it's just an Amazon's just like, oh, just add that to the delivery.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Target, Walmart, yeah, Amazon, BJ's, Sam's Club, all of them. So we'll just bring it to you, it's fine.
unknownI know.
SPEAKER_02So really, I think I'm gonna be more concentrated on experiences. You heard it here first. We'll see if I pull it off. It does take a little bit of planning.
SPEAKER_03I think that takes a lot of planning.
SPEAKER_02I have time. Not much. It's gonna be over.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_02Guys, what is it? Where are you gonna go? I don't know. No, no. I just mean it's gifts. Like, here's tickets to blankety blank.
SPEAKER_03Here's movie passes, here's I feel like all of those things, depending on who they you would get them for, like you have to arrange with that person.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's true. Unless it's a gift card. Correct. Speaking of that, we have gift cards available for Exquisite Med Spa and an afternoon with Amy. Yes, we do. A the gift of color and the gift of literally all the services that Exquisite Med Spa does um is a gift that keeps on giving. And uh it comes in handy when you need Botox, but your wallet says otherwise. Yeah. So just saying. Just saying. Um, anything else? Anything else to note before we wrap up?
SPEAKER_03I don't think so. We covered a wide variety.
SPEAKER_02I have to go buy a fireplace cover uh immediately after this. So I'm gonna go do that, and uh we'll catch you guys on the next one. Yeah. Peace out. This has been the Beauty Files. Case close.
