Lean in Government Podcast
This podcast is dedicated to helping government employees and leaders learn and apply Lean philosophy and continuous improvement to make their organizations more efficient, transparent, and customer-focused.
While Lean has been widely adopted in industries like manufacturing and healthcare, it remains underutilized in the public sector. My goal is to change that — one video, one process, and one improvement at a time.
Whether you’re new to Lean or already practicing continuous improvement, this channel will help you bring Lean thinking to your agency, department, or community.

Today, we’re talking about one of the most important principles in Lean — developing people. Not just improving processes, not just mapping flow, but actually helping our staff grow so they can solve problems and create better flow for the customer.
In government, process issues are usually people issues — not because staff don’t care, but because they were never trained, never coached, and never given a chance to improve their own work. When we develop people, everything else gets better: the flow, the customer experience, the culture, and the results.
