Friends, today we're gonna spend a little time in Psalm 51, one of the great and classic Psalms of Confession. And you might notice that the musical setting of this is a little bit more joyful. This comes from even some time I spent with it this past year as we at Pillar spent some time with this line, restore to us the joy of your salvation. So I wondered, what does Psalm 51 sound like when we're talking about restoring to us the joy? So I'm gonna read a few verses from the middle of Psalm 51 and then sing a setting of this, restore to us the joy. So hear these words from Psalm 51. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your deliverance. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.

The joy of your salvation, Lord, restore, restore, restore to us the joy, the joy of your salvation, Lord, restore, creating me a clean heart, the spirit riding in where I can be in your presence, where your Holy Spirit moves, I was lost and lonely when you wash and cleanse my sin because of your still fast love. Restore, restore, restore to us the joy, the joy of your salvation, Lord, restore, restore, restore to us the joy, the joy of your salvation, Lord, restore. Sing that again, create in me, create in me a clean heart, the spirit right and knew where I can be in your presence, where your Holy Spirit moves. I was so lost and lonely when you washed and cleansed my sin because of your state fast restore, restore, restore, restore to us the joy, the joy of your salvation, Lord, restore, restore, restore to us the joy, the joy of your salvation, Lord, restore.
