SPEAKER_00Hi folks, it's time for the quest for silver. And today we have the soft rock sounds of the 70s. That did not make it to the top of the chart. But most assuredly did make it into the hearts and souls of music lovers all over the world. Lifestyle 75 with me. We're a British American band consisting of 11 studio albums, ten live albums, twenty-three compilation albums, one extended play, and sixty-two singles. The band also has sold over one hundred twenty million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. She played the Manhattan Club scene, where Mary Manilo, a friend and a fellow singer of jingles, introduced her to middler. In 1971, Melissa became a member of the Harlem singers for middler, which she co-created with Manilo. Melissa is on our proverbial stage now. On our class for silver, fifty-five percent of Melissa Manchester singing, don't cry out loud. By the way, Bernard and Peters in 1989 stated that Peter Allen, the author of the song, told her that his mother taught him to always put your best face on in response to Allen's father's dying by suicide when Alan was 14 years old.
SPEAKER_04She didn't want parades just passing by her. So she painted on a smile and took up with some cloud while she danced without a net up on the wire. I know a lot about her, cause you see Baby is an awful lot like me. Don't cry out loud, just keep it inside. Learn how to hide your feelings. And learn how to mind your feelings.
SPEAKER_00And later in another group, The Endless Chain. It was a sad day when Paul suffered a coronary the day after his 60th birthday. And now, from his album Singer of Songs, Teller of Tales, his first and very successful song, I Go Crazy, which spent forty weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, which at the time set the record for most weeks on the chart.
SPEAKER_04I dilly see you again, I go crazy. When I look in your eyes, I still go crazy. No, my heart just can't hide that old feeling inside. You know when I look your eyes, I go crazy. Tell you all of his dreams. I know how much that means to you. Just when I thought I was so for you. Say it, just ain't true. No, we just ain't true, I go crazy. When I look in your eyes, I still go crazy. That old flame come to life, it starts burning inside. You know when I look in your eyes, I go crazy. You know when I look in your eyes, I go crazy. That will be when inside. Way deep down inside, I go crazy.
SPEAKER_00And subsequently attempted by Frankie Valley. But it was the voice of Rita Coolidge that rang the bell with We're All Alone. This is the quest for silver with me, Mr.
SPEAKER_04Tilkins. Close your eyes and dream, and you can be with me. Through the caves of hours, love for God and man. We're all alone. We're all alone's the window, come alive, and it will be all right. No need to buy Let it out, let it all begin. Once the story is told, it can help but grow old. Roses do, lovers do so kiss your seasons to the wind and holy day. Oh holy day close the window comes alive and it will be a line, don't need to land.
SPEAKER_00Let it let it be I remember the first time I heard this song on conventional radio out there on the proverbial airwave. And I couldn't wait to hear it again. All these years later. It still makes me want to address a replay over and over again. A little river man from Down Under a girl I never had inspired this on a lady when she danced in front of Mississippi at the hotel.
SPEAKER_04Feel for the winter, but don't have a cold heart and I love you best. You're not like the rest.
SPEAKER_03You're there when I need you, you're there when I need. I'm gonna need a long time ago.
SPEAKER_04I had a lady too. She made me think of things that never Now she's gone and I know the song. Let me take a look at you now. Make it me on you.
SPEAKER_03I think it's all in that I should say to you. Don't be thinking that I don't want you to be like, Look around. Come to me. I have no answers, but know where I wanna be. I love you. I was born in a winter by a warm heart, and I love you best. You're not like the rest. You're there when I need you, you're there when I need.
SPEAKER_04So later let me take a look at you now. You're there on the dance, making me want you so later. I think it's only fair I should say to you.
SPEAKER_00With the band called the First Edition. But I would call it fate that took hold of him and said, You are a country singer. Looking back when you can hardly disagree with his portfolio. Holding a 39 studio album. Lady and I was in the stream. Ladies and six weeks at the time.
SPEAKER_01It's good when I find it. Oh she makes us dreaming.
SPEAKER_04I try to get undressed without a lie.
SPEAKER_01And quietly she says, How well did you know? And I come to her and say it was over. And I won't tell you. Stumble to the kitchen for a bow.
SPEAKER_04Then I see my own guitar now.
SPEAKER_01Just waiting for me like a secret dream. There's no wheel.
SPEAKER_00And the burning question that came down to its rawest place was Please tell me who I am. That's basically what the song is about. Roger Hodgson the song's meaning. The logical song was born from my questions about what really matters in life. The lyrics, according to Hodgson, were based on his experience of being sent away to boarding school for ten years.
SPEAKER_04A miracle. Oh, which was beautiful, magical, and all the birds in the trees may be singing so happily, or joyfully, oh playfully, watching me. But then they send me away, teach me how to be sensible, logical, all responsible, practical. And then they show me a world where I could be so dependable. Oh clinical, how intellectual, cynical. There are times when all the world speed.
SPEAKER_00Sometimes when we die by Dan Hill.
SPEAKER_04Sometimes when we are staying, and I have to close my eyes and die. I wanna hold you till I die. Till we both break down and cry. I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides. Romance and all the strategy leaves me battling with my pride. But through the insecurity, some tenderness survives. I'm just another writer, still trapped within my truth. A hesitant prize fighter, still trapped within my youth. Sometimes when we touch, the artist is too much, and I have to close my eyes in life. Till we both break down and cry. At times I'd like to break you and drag you to your knees. At times I'd like to break through and hold you endlessly. At times I understand you, and I know how hard you try. And I've watched love pass you by. At times I think we're drifters, still searching for a friend, a brother or a sister, but then the passion flares again, and sometimes when we touch the honesty's too much, and I have to close my eyes in high. Till we both break down and cry. I wanna hold you till the fear in me is dying.
SPEAKER_00I mean Easy is the title. Written by the Commodore, the lead singer Lionel Richie. The song is a slow ballad of depressing a man's feelings as a relationship. And rather than being depressed about the breakout, he states that he is instead easy like Sunday morning. Something that Richie described as evocative of small southern towns that die at eleven thirty PM on a Saturday night. Who cannot relate to that scenario, eh?
SPEAKER_02No, it sounds fun about. Easily like something.
SPEAKER_00We just disagree is a song recorded by English singer guitarist Dave Mason, written by Jim Kruger, released in August 1977 as the second single from the album Let It Flow. The ballad featured Kruger's twelve-string guitar prominently. He also sang the harmony vocal above Mason's lead vocal.
SPEAKER_04That we've grown up differently. Don't seem to say Since you've lost your feelings. So let's leave it alone. Cause we can't see. So let's leave it alone. Cause we can't see eye to eye. There ain't no good guy. There ain't no bad guy. There's only you and me and we can disagree. Oh let's leave no sea bad guy. There we go, good guy. Let's only do anything. We just disagree.
SPEAKER_00When I was in the audience to share in the ambiance of this talented performer, I was impressed with his style and manner that is everything one would hope to find after having enjoyed his record for so many decades. James Taylor has had more songs on the charts over the years than you can think of. Measured in terms of popularity on any chart. Taylor's version of the song Handyman was the most successful.
SPEAKER_04I can deal with the food. Broken hearts, I know that truly can your broken heart should be repaired, then I am an end to see. Tell all your friends, they'll come running to me. Here is the main thing that I want to say. I fix broken hearts, I know, but I truly can come, come. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on, come a comma, come a come, come hold on, they'll come running to me is the main thing I want to say. I'm busy twenty-four hours a day. I fix broken hearts, baby, I'm your hand. They'll come running to me is the main thing I want to say. I'm busy twenty-four hours a day. I fix broken hearts may be on your handy man. Come on, come on, come a comma, come, come, come. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come a comma, come a come a come, come, come, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's me. Come a comma, come a comma, come. I'm your handing man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's me. Come on, come on, come on, come on, come. I'm your handing man. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
