So if you are a fan of the best era in pop music you have come to the right place. I'm Chris Tuffer and I started broadcasting these old tunes back on the 1960's so I and you remember them well. Anything from The Beatles, The Stones, The Mamas and the Papas, The Monkees and well the list is almost endless. Please come by and check out my podcast with mostly music and a modicum of chatter.

The first secondary song this hour is Tommy James and the Shondells with Draggin' the line followed by Karen Carpenter for All we know. The english name of the next performer is Wolf but of course in Spanish it is more likely you will recognise him as Lobo and his recording is Me and you and a dog named Boo. Stay a while by the Bells and then the composer's version by Kenny Tobias. There is much more for your listening pleasure to discover.
We have a present for a lifestyle fifty five podcasts.
unknownMake a live in the old hard way.
SPEAKER_00You have chosen to join me on a quest. And not just any old quest, but one for silver. As long as we remember that Mr. Center stage by that matter. Indeed. Not enough to matter. Christopher is my name. You can call me Mr. D. Life of the Lifety Five. Tommy James and the Chandells had a first milling today with Dragon Line. They are remembered and treasured for their role in the mid-20th century as amazing entertainers. And now we turn our attention to our second secondary selection by one of the best female voices not only back then, but compared to the many contemporary artists, Karen Carpenter, with For All We Know.
SPEAKER_10But I'm alone will say Let's take a lot of time to say I knew you well for a little so and love may grow for a winner. Look at the two Stranger in many ways.
SPEAKER_00But you will not likely know that his stage name is simply Wolf, which in Spanish is Lobo. And the song Me and You and a dog named Who was his biggest hit in the web. When I asked about the creative process, I was working on several songs, including a human boat traveling around the country with this girl. And I was trying to rhyme you and me. Me and you would have been easier. I couldn't find anything to rhyme with what I wanted to say in the song. Finally, after I got back home to Florida, I decided to turn the phrase around me and you. I was thinking about it and sitting in a room that had a sliding glass door. Overlooking in the backyard. I said, Well now, that's kind of freaky. How about putting a dog named Boo in the song? That's literally how it came about. So let's go back in time and listen to me and you and a dog named Boo. And notice how the opening line is extremely apropos for a nostalgic theme in music. Check it out.
SPEAKER_08I remember to this day like Red George and play. How it's come to tire after some rain.
SPEAKER_00A rather seductive tone by the Bells, and a little less so by Kenny. First, let's hear the Bell's version.
SPEAKER_13Without making a sound. Into my dreams, he peeps with his hair along and hanging down. How he makes me quiver. How he makes me smile with all this love I have to give him up. I guess I'm gonna stay with him a while.
SPEAKER_16She pushes the truth. She drops and she reaches and does once.
SPEAKER_00Active from 64 to 74. They released four albums and several singles, two of which were major hits in the early 70s. Fly a little white dove fly, and especially Stay a While. You will likely have heard the Bells version, but now I will give you a chance to hear how the author, Ken Tobias, recorded it.
SPEAKER_06And into my dream she creeps with a hair all she makes me quit how she makes me smile with all the love help to give her. She draws the room on the floor. She reaches for the light on you.
SPEAKER_00I guess I'm going to stay with the Partridge Family with lead singer David Cassidy were seen every week on TV for four years, 73 to 74. And believe it or not, the shows, all 96 of them, are still available on the Canadian Network. Here they are with various backup singers behind leader David Cassidy. On L55 or the cue for S with me, Mr.
SPEAKER_11Drew. I need somebody, so I won't have to pretend. Doesn't somebody want to be born like me? Where are you? Doesn't somebody want to be born like me? Just like you be. But I don't want to be.
SPEAKER_01I couldn't take another day.
SPEAKER_11Like yesterday, I'm dead on my feet. I'm walking the street. I need somebody to help me find my way.
unknownBefore I do, I'm telling around.
SPEAKER_11Somebody wanted to be wanted like me. Where are you? Doesn't somebody wanna be wanted like me?
unknownJust like me.
SPEAKER_01You know, I'm no different from anybody else. I start each day and I end each night. But it gets really lonely when you're by yourself. Where is love? And who is love? I gotta know.
SPEAKER_11Somebody wanted me wanted like me. Where are you? Doesn't somebody want to be wanted like me? Just like me. Somebody wanted me like me. Where are you? Doesn't somebody want to be wanted like me just like me.
SPEAKER_00It's a rainy night in Georgia and that's
SPEAKER_02Raining light in Georgia. Raining Lady. It feels like it's raining all over the world. I feel like it's raining all over the world.
SPEAKER_03Beyond signs flashing, taxi cabs and buses passing through the night.
SPEAKER_02A distant moaning of a train seems to play a sad refrain to the night. A raining night in Georgia. Such a raining night in Georgia. Lord, I believe it's raining all over the world. I feel like it's raining all over the world. How many times I wondered? It still comes out the same. No matter how you look at it or think of it, it's life, and you just got to play the game.
SPEAKER_04So I take my guitar to pass something.
SPEAKER_19I hold your picture to my chest, and I feel fine.
SPEAKER_02But it's a raining night in Georgia. Baby, it's a raining night in Georgia. I feel it's raining all over the world. Kinda lonely that and it's raining all over the world. Oh, have you ever been lonely, people? And you feel that it was raining all over this man's world. You're talking about a raining, meaning, meaning, raining, raining, meaning, raining, a raining, a raining, meaning over the world.
SPEAKER_00Gordon Lightfoot, and if you could read my mind, he wrote the lyrics while he was reflecting on his own divorce. At the request of his daughter, Ingrid, he performed the lyrics with a slightly significant change. I'm just trying to understand the feeling that you laugh. I'm just trying to understand the feeling that we laugh.
SPEAKER_17You could read my love. What a tale my thoughts could tell. Just like an old diamond moving about a ghost from a wishing well, in a castle dark, or a fortress strong, with chains upon my feet. You know that ghost is me, and I will never be set free as long as I'm a ghost, you can't see me. Just like a paper backing off, the kind the drugstore sell. When you reach the part where the heartaches come, the hero would be me. You won't read that book again because the ending just too hard to take. But from now on, let's be real. I never thought I could act this way. And I've got to say that I just don't get it. I don't know where we went wrong, but the feeling's gone, and I just can't get it back. What a tale my thoughts could tell Just like in an old time moving about a ghost from a wishing well in a castle dark or a fortress strong with chains upon my feet. The story always in you read between the lines, you'll know that I'm just trying to understand the feelings that you have. I never thought I could feel this way, and I've got to say that I just don't get it. I don't know where we went wrong, but the feeling's gone, and I just can't get it back.
SPEAKER_00Mama's a curl with the major vocals by Michael Number Two for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 behind one bad apple by the Osmond. We are Lifestyles 55, and I'm Chris Tuffer on a quest with you for silver.
SPEAKER_11Oh baby, my body watch the baby down, you want to love you.
SPEAKER_00His single signed single Delivered I'm yours was his first ever self-produced song. The singer has left his girlfriend but realizes it wasn't noticeable. I've done a lot of foolish things that I really didn't mean. Now he has returned. Making the commitment that he's back, similar to a special delivery package from the post office. I'm yours.
SPEAKER_11I'm wondering if your life's still strong. I'm still delivering from yours. And that time I went and said goodbye. Now I'm back and not ashamed to cry. Ooh, baby. I'm still delivered from you. I don't know how to put it. I better write this thing. When I touch the bed, I'm the best I'm done. I'm done. That's why I know you're about to do that.
SPEAKER_00Neil Diamond was a massive singing machine in the late sixties, and then something came over him in the seventies. And after some very significant therapy, he was inspired to write and record his expiration of the song. What my dreams were about. What my aspirations were about. And what I was about. We are lifestyles 55 and the quest for silver with me, Mr. T.
SPEAKER_18It is fine, the sun shines most the time. And the feeling is layback. Palm trees grow and rents are low, but you know keep thinking about making my way back. Well, I'm in New York City born and raised. Nowadays I'm lost between two shores. New York's home, but it ain't mine no more. I am dead. And then became one. Well, except for the names and a few other changes, if you talk about me, the story's the same one. But I got an empty step inside. And I tried, but it won't let me go. And I'm not a man who likes to swear, but I never care for the sound of me.
SPEAKER_00The song, written solely by Marvin, became regarded as one of popular music's most poignant anthems of sorrow regarding the environment.
SPEAKER_09All things in which they used to be okay.
SPEAKER_00On the Billboard Hot 100 behind My Sweet Lord by George Harrison for the week that encompassed Christmas 1970 and into the first week of 71. The song of which I speak is none other than Marilyn McCoo in the role of lead vocal with the fifth dimension singing One Less Bell to Answer, written by Bert McArak and Al David.
SPEAKER_11One less Bell to answer one less and to fly. One less man to pick up after. I don't know how to stop thinking of the stage. One less egg to fry.
unknownAnd all I do is cry.
SPEAKER_11Because my man told me good boy. Somebody tell me, please. Where did he go? Why did he go? Tell me how could he leave me.
SPEAKER_00Norman Greenbaum was born November 20, 1942. He's an American singer-songwriter known for his 1969 hit Spirit in the Sky. That is one of the most famous and selling one-hit wonders of all time. Although Spirit in the Sky clearly has a Christian Greenbaum and remains an observer.
SPEAKER_07When the name of the damn Goin up to the spirit of the squad. Going up to the spirit in the sky.
unknownI never spin. I got a friend.
SPEAKER_07So you know that when I die It's gonna set me up, me up for the water, but it's a good idea.
