What does it take to find the Grand Unified Theory — the single equation that explains everything in the universe? For Dr Rulin Xiu, the answer came not from a physics lab but from an unexpected journey through discouragement, spiritual awakening, and ancient wisdom.

In this first episode, Dr Xiu shares her personal story: from growing up in Xi'an, China, and being recruited to one of the country's top science universities, to earning a PhD in string theory at UC Berkeley — and hitting a wall she could not break through. Exhausted and searching for meaning, she moved to the Big Island of Hawaii, where a profound spiritual awakening led her to her teacher, Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha, and to the ancient wisdom of the Tao.

That encounter changed everything. The missing piece was not another mathematical dimension — it was consciousness itself. From the union of quantum physics and Tao wisdom, Tao Science was born.

Welcome to the Unified Science of Everything, Unlocking the Code of Creation and Manifestation. I'm your host, Dr. Ju Len Xu, a quantum physicist and a co-author and co-founder of Tao Science with Dr. and Master Chigang Sha. In this episode, I want to take you behind the scenes to share who I am, why I and our team created this podcast, and the journey that led me here. I grew up in Xi'an, China, an ancient capital for more than thirteen dynasties. Surrounded by thousands of years of history, I was a deeply curious child, always asking why and how, and early on, teachers noticed my talent for mathematics and science. Because of my aptitude in science, I was recruited to the University of Science and Technology of China, one of China's leading training ground for the scientific mind. It was an intense, inspiring and stimulating environment. During my college years, I encountered the dream of Albert Einstein. Einstein spent the later part of his life searching for a grand unified theory, a single elegant that could explain all fundamental forces of nature. He wanted to read the mind of God. At the age of nineteen, I made that dream my own. I became determined to find this unified theory. At that time I was also captivated by the mysteries of quantum physics, the role of the observer, the indeterminacy, and the interconnectedness. What did it all mean? What did it say about reality, consciousness, and life? Driven by these questions, I traveled across the world to pursue my PhD at the University of California, Berkeley, a global center of theoretical physics. I immerse myself in string theory, then considered the most promising path toward a unified theory. String theory is mathematically beautiful, proposing that the universe is made of tiny vibrating strings of energy, and over time I hit a wall. Despite its elegancy, string theory could not offer the explanations or predictions needed. It could not answer the deeper questions that has haunted me about the consciousness, meaning, purpose, and nature of life itself. I felt despair. The dream that had filled me since I was 19 seemed unreachable. Eventually I left academia and moved to the big island of Hawaii and started a new life. Hawaii is a place of profound natural beauty and a powerful energy. Surrounded by ocean and volcanic earth, I experienced a deep spiritual awakening. Then a pivotal moment changed everything. I met my spiritual teacher, Doctor and Master Chigansha, a world-renowned spiritual healer and teacher. Through him I began studying ancient Tao wisdom and spiritual healing. Tao means the source, the ultimate creator and the universal principles and laws that govern all things. At first my scientific mind was skeptical, but as I practiced and learned, I experienced profound healing and transformation. And then the breakthroughs began. I had a series of aha moments that changed my understanding of physics forever. One day, during one of Master Shah's workshops, I suddenly saw the true meaning of quantum physics. Quantum physics is the physics about the soul. Physicists struggle to understand quantum physics because they do not understand soul. Another time, ancient Mayans appeared to me in spiritual form, helping me understand the nature of time and space. Key insight. These are key insights needed to create a unified theory. I was guided to spend the night on one of the largest pyramids I had visited in Mexico, and there the long sought insight finally dawned on me. Working with Masha, I began integrating ancient Tao wisdom with my work in quantum physics and string theory. This helped me create a grand unified theory I am truly happy with. The one that can use one mathematic formula to describe everything from elementary particles, fundamental forces, large structure of the universe, dark matter, dark energy, and complex phenomena such as the fractal, fractal geometry we observe in nature. And even more remarkably, this grand unified theory places science and spirituality on equal footing. This is how Tao science was born. Tao science is a science of the source and creation. It unifies science and spirituality at the fundamental level. It reveals that everything is created from the source through a process of information, energy, and matter. It shows that consciousness is not an accident of biology, but a fundamental quantum phenomena. It offers a new interpretation of quantum physics that has led to many new insights. It explains how the physical body can have conscious experience. It gives the soul a mathematical definition, make it possible to use quantum physics to study the soul. It explains scientifically what soul healing is, how it works, and why it addresses the root cause of sickness and challenges in life. It has led to the holographic quantum theory of consciousness and to the conscious and to the quantum theory of life and more. So it bridges the material and the spiritual, revealing that they are one. I realize these are not theoretical research just for me to satisfy my intellectual curiosities. They are truly the wisdom and knowledge essential for everyone to explore so that we are all empowered to know who we are, what we come here for, how our lives are created, and what the innate abilities are within us, and how we can manifest our dreams, transform and elevate our health, finance, relationships, find true happiness and fulfillment. And this is why I and our team start this podcast. In our podcast, Unified Science of Everything, we will explore the mysteries of existence together. We will look at how the principles of quantum physics and Tao Science can be applied to daily life for weakening, empowerment, healing, and transformation and enlightenment.
