In this episode of Creative & Resilient Voices, photographer Priyanca Rao reflects on sustaining a creative identity through the many chapters, roles, and pivots that shape a life. From artist to entrepreneur, mother, and partner, Priyanca shares how she is learning to define these roles for herself, leaving room for fluidity, grace, and adaptability rather than conforming to inherited or societal definitions.

Priyanca Rao is an internationally acclaimed portrait photographer based in New York City, celebrated for her creative use of light and evocative, story-driven imagery. Named Best Photographer in NYC by Photographer USA Magazine, she is a Top Fearless Wedding Photographer worldwide and a Wed Award and Weddison Award winner. Trained in fashion design at the London College of Fashion, Priyanca has worked across photography and fashion since 2003 and was ranked among the Top 50 Photographers in the World by Fearless Photographers in 2023. Beyond portraits, she documents women’s stories through street and documentary photography. She is also a mentor and educator, passionate about supporting photographers in refining their artistic voice.
