Okay, I have a question for you, and I need you to actually pause and sit with it for a second before you answer. Have you ever thought of something and then it happened? Have you ever known who was calling before you looked at your phone? Have you ever walked into a room and just felt something like the air had information in it that nobody said out loud? Have you ever had a dream that was just a little too specific to be a coincidence and then it happened? Yeah, I thought so. And we need to talk because what I'm about to talk about today might either totally confirm something you've always quietly suspected about yourself, or it might crack open a door you didn't even know was there, which is awesome. So ready? Let's go. Welcome back to an intuitive life. I'm Elena Lipson, your intuitive guide and mentor. And today we're going somewhere a little more mystical, because I love it like that. And we're talking about the difference between intuition and psychic ability, where they overlap, where they diverge, and how you can actively develop both. And yes, I said both because I believe you have both. I just think nobody gave us the map because it's like one of those things you don't really talk about. Not so much anymore, hopefully. So today is the map. First, can we just talk about the word psychic for a second? Because I know at least one of you, I know what's happening in your brain. A few of you at least just pictured a woman in a turban behind a crystal ball and a 1-800 number scrolling across the bottom of a late night TV screen. And listen, no shade to that image, but that is not where we are where we are today. We're not talking about anything near that today. The reason so many women dismiss psychic ability out of hand, the reason they'll say, Oh, I'm not psychic, that's not me, is because of images like that, or because the word woo-woo has been made to sound derogatory. It's been made into something theatrical, something other, something you have or like you have it or you don't have it, like a party trick from another dimension, and that is not what it is. So let's start from scratch. Because you know I love words as a copywriter and a writer and a speaker. Like I love words, and it's really important to know where we're where we're coming from. Make sure we're talking about the same thing here. First, we'll start with intuition. Intuition is your inner knowing, it's the signal that lives inside you, comes from divine guidance, and your future self pinging you, guiding you as you move through your day and your life. It's built from lived experience, your body's wisdom, your energy, your accumulated perception of patterns that only you can see through your lens of life. It's that quiet voice, that gut feeling, that moment of, oh, I just know, that doesn't come with a logical explanation attached. And every single person has it, including you. Psychic ability is what happens when that same channel extends beyond yourself. It's intuition that can receive information not just from your own inner knowing, but from outside of you, from energy, from other people, from what I believe is divine intelligence and your own higher self. Think of it this way: intuition is the foundation, it's the soil. And psychic ability is what grows when you build on that foundation, when you tend to that soil and you dial it all the way up. They are not two separate things that some people have and some people don't. They are the same channel at different frequencies, and that frequency is trainable. Here's how I like to think about it. Intuition is always internal. Even when it's coming from divine, it's it's within your energy field, it's coming from your future self, it's still within your quantum self, right? It's actually coming from you, and you are divine, it's coming from that part of you, from your body, your subconscious, your accumulated wisdom. Okay, it's the voice that says something is off here before you have any evidence. It's the pull towards something before you have a reason. It's your nervous system, your energy field, your higher future self and higher, higher and future self communicating with your conscious mind. Psychic ability is when the signal expands to pick up what's happening outside of you. It can show up as knowing something about another person that you had no logical access to. It can be sensing the energy of that room before you walk in and knowing like something just happened, you kind of feel something's going on and you're gonna be tuned into that. It can be dreaming something that actually happens. It can be a vision, a word, a feeling that doesn't belong to you but arrives anyway. Like you tune into a frequency, a radio channel that was already broadcasting and you ended up on that same frequency. So, where do they merge? Where does intuition and psychic ability merge? I believe it's right at that threshold of the known and the unknown. The place where your body starts to pick up information that your logical mind hasn't caught up to yet. Both intuition and psychic ability live in that same space. Both operate below the surface of ordinary awareness and both are communicating with you. Here's the difference though. Intuition will always bring you back to your side off what do I need? What's true for me, which path is mine? Can you be intuitive for other people? Sure, but they still have full sovereignty and agency and their intuition is actually more important that they trust and connect with and develop their intuition versus following yours. Now, psychic ability expands that conversation. It brings in other voices, other energies, other dimensions of information from people, from the divine, from a future self, which I believe is still more intuition, but it crosses over into psychic ability from those who've crossed over. Like at the psychic medium. I mean, there's different types of psychic abilities. And it asks not just what do I know, but what is available to me to receive. Same channel, wider spaces, wider dial. Okay, and here's where it gets fun because both of these can be developed actively, intentionally, with a practice, like any muscle, like any skill. Let's start with intuition because this is the foundation that I teach. And if you haven't built a solid relationship here first, everything else is feels like noise and confusion very quickly. So for your intuition, you start embarrassingly small. I'm serious, like when you're choosing between two things, a salad or a sandwich, take a left or take a right. You pause and check in with your body first before your brain takes over with logic and other people's opinions, etc. You start to develop a sense for which option makes you feel slightly more open, which one makes something in you contract. You're starting to train your yes and your no at a level so low that stay, there are stakes that your nervous system can actually relax into it. If you haven't listened to my last podcast episode about decision making, I get a little bit more deeply into that. And of course, my seven days of self-trust is I really help you get into your body and figure that out. So, again, for your intuition, creating a daily stillness practice is so powerful. Not meditation necessarily, because I know that word sends half of you running into like, I don't meditate, I'm not a meditator, but just stillness. Five minutes of no input, no phone, no podcast, no journaling, no music, no task, just you and your own energy. This is the single most powerful thing you can do to hear yourself clearly because intuition is not loud, it's very quiet, and we've built lives that are so full of external noise and distraction that we've completely drowned it out. I mean, you can even go for a walk with no headphones or phone or anything. Sometimes when I draw, I get really powerful intuitive nudges. So starting with stillness is amazing, and then you can sort of layer it into a stacked activity if that helps you as well. Another thing that really helps is starting a decision journal. And every time you make a decision, you write down what you felt in your body before you made it. Now I know this can get really like, oh god, I have to have a journal for decisions. But if you want to make better decisions, which is something that I know many, many of my clients deal with, like really having that indecision, distraction, overwhelm, confusion feeling, it's it can be very costly to not make those decisions. And if you start tracking your decision making over time, you will start to see a pattern, like a specific sensation that shows up when you're in alignment, and a different one that shows up when you're overriding yourself. Your body is consistent, it's in how it communicates the yeses, the excitements, and the no's and the contraction. You just haven't been formally introduced to it yet. And I also have a decision-making quiz which can help you understand what kind of decision maker you are. You can check that out in my Instagram bio as well. Now, for your psychic ability, which I think is so much fun, you can learn what your primary clear is. Now, most people receive psychic information through one dominant channel first. I believe we all have all of them, but we have dominant channels. So clairvoyance is like seeing, where you see images, visions, and symbols inside your mind's eye. The rare person sees it outside in like in life as well. And that's like um almost like a hologram, or I actually have I have some of this as well. I see lots of things. I usually don't talk about it here, but I do see um information about people's bodies sometimes. I see their guides sometimes. I do this very clearly for my husband and my son. So it's something that I have as well. Um, clairsentience, which is a really, really uh easy one to kind of get into, is a feeling. It's where you find yourself absorbing other people's emotions and energy if they're as if they're your own. That's kind of like an empath. And then there's clear cognizance, which is a knowing, like you just know like you know, like you know, with no logical information to back it up, like a sudden certainty that arrives with no origin point, no like doing research, you just know. Then there's clear audience, which is hearing, where you hear, like I have this as well. I hear things, words, names, a voice that isn't yours. It's just guidance, like a whisper almost. You likely already have a dominant one, and you just have been calling it something else, like imagination or anxiety, maybe, or even just a feeling. Now, there are many other clears having to do with taste and sound, and um gosh, what is the other one? With touching sensations, there's there's actually other ones that don't get talked about as much, and we're not gonna dive into that today. I'll I'm gonna be sharing a little bit more about it in future episodes, but that those are the basic ones that you you will likely have at least heard about before. And again, for your psychic ability, you can practice with very low stakes. Like before you open an email, you can start to sense what it contains. Take a minute, take a breath, and just kind of sense it. Before you meet someone new, you can tune in and notice like what impressions arrive before you even have any information. Set a clear intention before you meet someone to like sense something about them before they tell you. Also, before you walk into a space, you can stand at a threshold for a moment and just feel the energy of it before you walk in, and that'll give you some information as well. Um, another thing you can do is like have this tiny practices around those, and even like when your phone rings, like I mentioned that before, you can kind of see if you know who's calling or what they're gonna say. But these tiny practices sharpen the channel without the pressure of getting it right or becoming like a working psychic, because that's not what we're talking about here today. Another thing to do is work with your dreams. This is very Youngian. Carl Jung talked about dreams quite a bit as messages from your subconscious, but you can also get messages from beyond. So, one thing that really helps is to keep a journal by your bed and write down whatever you remember before you get out of bed because you think you'll remember, but you won't. I do this so many times. I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm gonna remember this, and then I'm like, oh shit, like what was that? Sometimes I do remember, but a lot of times it goes away. Especially if you start scrolling right away, forget it. Like it's over, game over. But if you do start tracking, what's cool is over time patterns will emerge. Symbols, recurring themes, recurring feelings, people who come to visit. Dreams are often where our psychic channel runs most freely because our logical mind has finally gotten out of the way. Like some people believe that your dreams are you visiting other dimensions while you're sleeping, which I have. I'm a very lucid dreamer, which is like where you control what you're doing in dreams because you understand that you're like, oh my god, I'm I'm awake in a dream, and then I can do all these cool things like flying. I've gotten into fist fights because I would never do that in real life. Like, really fun things. There's a ways to develop that. If you want more information on that, I can I'm happy to share some resources. And then again, much like it's intuition, you can sit in like a sit spot with intentional reception. This is a practice where you close your eyes in a safe place where you know you won't be interrupted. You can ground your energy with a simple relaxation meditation, and instead of some sending something outward, like out into the field, a question or a prayer, you just open, you receive. And I have some really cool tools for that, like putting up your antenna, opening up your third eye, and you let information come in without grabbing for it, without deciphering it, or second-guessing it. This is uncomfortable at first because for most of us, because we're trained to be productive to make something happen, we also love to make meaning of everything. We start to like put it into categories and put labels on it. But reception, being receptive and open is like the opposite. It's allowing, it's being curious, it's wonderment, it is its own skill, like to just let it be, right? Okay, I if you are drawn to any of those, just let yourself practice. Like this doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, most intuitive skill building and in psychic skill building and ability is really not very complex, it's very simple, but what it does require is a commitment to it, a belief in it, and a practice with it, just like developing like any other skill. If you want to be a good pickle ball pickleball player or a dancer, or you want to get really good at baking cookies, like it's a skill set, you're gonna have to sit with it and do it and act be active with it, right? So, if any of this is like interesting to you, I want to tell you about something that's coming, something I've been building, and honestly, something I'm really, really excited about that I didn't realize that, like it was something that comes so naturally to me over my lifetime that I didn't really think about it as a workshop, but it's gonna be called open your third eye with some kind of subtitle. I'm not sure yet. But and I'm not gonna give you all the details today because we're not quite there yet. But I want to plant the seed because I know some of you are going to feel something when I say it. The third eye, your sixth chakra, the energy center sitting right between your brows, is the seed of all of this intuition, psychic insight, inner vision, the ability to perceive beyond what's physically in front of you. In ancient traditions across cultures, it's been recognized for thousands of years as the doorway to higher knowing, whether you call it psychic ability or intuition or anything in between. And most of us have almost completely closed it off because of society, distraction, other people's influence, being in a culture that doesn't accept it, um, where woo-woo gets called weird. Even the word woo-woo has been, I think, intentionally maligned so that it would feel like something's off, which it's not. Not because anything's wrong with us, but because we live in a world that runs on the visible, the measurable, the provable. And every time we chose logic overknowing, every time we dismiss that little feeling, that little voice, or the vision or the dream as just something, just whatever, no big deal. Like we dim that light a little more. So in this workshop, open your third eye, it's an experience I'm designing to help you reverse that, to clear out all of the muck over it, to activate your third eye and give you practical, embodied tools to strengthen your inner vision in a way that changes how you navigate everything: your decisions, your relationships, your work, your business, your life. I will be sharing more very soon. But if something in you just woke up a little when I said that, if there's a yes somewhere in your body right now, pay attention to that. That's your third eye doing exactly what it does. Keep it warm because more is coming. Okay. Come back to your body. Here's what I want you to walk away with today. You are not someone who either has these gifts or doesn't. That's not how any of this works. You were born with access to a channel, a frequency that is far more extraordinary than you have been led to believe. Intuition, psychic ability, psychic awareness, inner vision, these are not supernatural, scary things. They are deeply, profoundly, femininely natural.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_00They are what's left when you get quiet enough to listen and slough off all those layers of society's bullshit telling you who you're supposed to be. So that's where we're gonna start. You get quiet, you get curious, and you stop dismissing the knowing that you have in your body and your soul that arrives before the logic takes over. So start treating your inner inner experience as data because it is, and it's some of the most accurate inner data that you'll ever receive. And that's exactly what you need in a world where we don't know what's real. We don't know, is this AI? Is it not? I just posted a story where I found a song that I really, really loved, and I learned very soon after that it was AI generated, and I was like, oh my god, I didn't know. Like, I got totally duped because I didn't even think to run it through my my like intuitive filter. I was like shocked, like I know there's music made by AI, but this wasn't that didn't give me that feeling, so I really am like, oh wow, I need to just I okay, now is it important that I know the song is AI or not? That's a discussion I had on that in my stories on Instagram. You can go and check it out if it's still there. Um, but I think it's important as the world gets more AI in terms of images and videos and conversations that didn't really happen, right? Political for entertainment or otherwise. We really, really need to dial that shit up because we need to be able to tune in and say, is this real? Like, do I can I trust what I'm seeing? And that's kind of the point. I believe that there are intentional confusion tactics happening right now that are going to disconnect us from ourselves even more, just like we've been disconnected from our earth, from our own hands creating food for us, creating our products for us, from being in like a trading bartering community. Like we are so like click place the order, get it delivered in two hours from Amazon that we forget that oh my god, I can actually make this myself. And this is along the same line because we have the ability to know, but if we discon disconnect from it under the guise of inconvenience or convenience, or does it really matter? It really, really matters, especially moving forward. Right, because if you do turn it on, if you have that ability, where you're going next is going to be really, really good. I'll leave you there for today. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Send me any notes here. If you look in the in the um Apple app, you can see a little blue heart. You can send me a text, it goes directly to me, no AI bots in the middle, or you can send me a DM on Instagram. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Are you psychic? Are you intuitive? Are you wanting to learn more? Have you been wanting to open your third eye more? Why? What's happening for you? And of course, if you loved or liked this episode, please subscribe, share it with the women in your life who already know or suspect that they know more than they are supposed to, right? Because they do and they need to hear this. All right. I will see you on the next episode of An Intuitive Life, and I'm going to be sharing the third eye workshop very soon. So make sure you're following me on Instagram, subscribe to this podcast so you do not miss it. All right. Thank you so much for being here with me today. Stay intuitive. Keep it that frequency dialed up. And if you have any questions about intuition or psychic abilities, please hit me up. And I'll see you on the next episode. Okay.
