EPISODE 2 — STATE OF MIND SHOW NOTES
The mind is not a fixed address. It is transient yet powerful — a state of storming weather followed by peaceful calm. No clues for where it is heading or where it will land.

- How do we feel about ourselves when we look up at the skyscraper?
- What would happen if we had a different way to communicate without words?
- Does the mind enjoy playing the game of deception just for fun?
THE EPISODE IN ONE LINE:
The perfect human mind is like a mirror. It reflects but does not hold, it expects nothing, it takes nothing.
IN THIS EPISODE:
- Music as a natural extension — not a goal but a way to live
- Living inside the creator's mind — the practice room as a world
- The questions that follow us across every decade and every country

How do we feel about ourselves when we look up at the skyscraper? What would happen if we had a different way to communicate without words? Does the mind enjoy playing the game of deception just for fun? Welcome to Open Heart Podcast. I am Luleslin, your host. This is a podcast where we share ideas, stories, and questions with an open heart. So we can be kinder and wiser to ourselves and each other. Every week we'll discuss a topic where I share my observation, ideas and questions with you. And I would love to hear your thoughts, comments, and reflections too. Please send them to Lou and Leslen Creativestudio.com. Today's topic is State of Mind. State of Mind Transient yet powerful. It is a state of storming weather followed by peaceful calm. No clues for where it is heading or where it will land. As a child born in a culture that regards academic achievement as the aim for future success, music became my natural extension, not with any specific goals to reach, but as a way to live my life. As my musical life took over, a new world opened up to me, a world with imagined beauty and form, a world I felt safe to roam. I spent hours alone in the practice room, finding the story through sound of the piano, living inside the creator's mind, learning how to recreate the work of a human being who lived in another time. I am always curious, always wanting to learn how the world became the world today. I wondered about my own existence at a young age. And I am still asking these questions today. Why am I different than that person? Why do I think about the things I do? Why do I become very critical of myself and others? How do I turn off the noise in my mind? How do I find peace and serenity? These are not new questions. They have followed me across every decade. Every country, every version of myself I have been. Now in my sixties. I don't have children to look after. I don't have to work from dong to dust to make a living. I don't need to provide care to aging parents. I need to find a way to serve and leave something meaningful for others. Life is a work in progress. We are organisms traveling through space and time without any awareness of what's happening around us. And yet there's a part of us wanting to be better. Solitude is the whisper from the heart. It asks us to listen to our breath. It asks us to silence the chatter of the mind. It asked us to pay attention without doing anything. Solitude creates the space we need to think, reflect, reorganize. When we are ready, the voice speaks the truth without fear. The mind shifts to another dimension. The sound and the image become one. The mind is an elusive state, an empty space for us to fill with reality and fantasy. It disguises as a fairy godmother to mess with us and leaves without notice. It is where we keep our memories of pleasure and pain. The perfect human mind is like a mirror. It reflects but does not hold. Where would we be without it? This has been episode two of season three, State of Mind. Next time, the Haw Question. It is how the human species has been able to survive and thrive on planet Earth. Thank you for joining me. I'd love to hear from you. Please share your comments, stories, and questions. Send them to lu at Lesling Creativestudio.com.
