Only whenever I'm walking with you. In all honesty, as a child, I thought um when I got older that adulthood would come with like my own background music. I still I don't know what it would be, but I still live life like that because you know, why am I shopping at 9 p.m. feeling like a side character? Interesting. So like you ever felt like that? Yeah, like you don't belong, or like the people walking around you don't belong, I guess. Yes. It depends where you're at at 9 p.m. in all honesty. If you're at Walmart, they all look like Sims? It depends. What I feel like that when I go to like Sprouts or something, or like a Publix Where you're the Sim? Yeah, I feel like I know everyone else is a simple. Or everyone else is a simple energy. So you have main character energy. Of course. Who else? I mean, I'm just never a main character when you're around. That is correct. I'm more like a sidekick. You are. You are my sidekick everywhere, anywhere. But yeah, I have felt that. Um, especially like I said, when you go to Walmart at night. Um I feel like the main character and everyone else is um They're just NPCs or Sims? Or zombies. What? I don't know. Zombie? I mean, I get it. I I feel like the crazies come out at night. Yeah. But I do like shopping at night because there's less people. If that makes sense. And my as uh in my character, in my main story, yeah, that's how it is. But anyways, whatever. Um So today we make no sense. You just you just Well, okay, what about you? Fine. You said No, I walk into a room and music plays. And you're a main character. Always. Everyone else is what? Like they're NPCs, they're non-player characters, they're just they're part of the simulation. Alright. You don't think that people are just put this is all a simulation? It could be like the matrix. I mean, it's or it's a collective d delusion keeping us alive. Mmm. Cue the theme music. Pom pom pow. You're gonna sing it? Go ahead. The whole time? I'm not. But this is where I would cue it in. Do you think everybody thinks they're the main character? I think most people might. You know? Like I walk around narrating my own life constantly. Like I hear the voice and he's telling me, like, so today. Your voice talks like your son almost? Oh yeah. No, my voice kind of says like. For some reason, it's always like, What are you doing? That was my voice. Yeah, I know, because I'm always hearing your voice going, Why are you going that way? And I did my job. That's all you ever hear is my voice. Job well done, Nat. No, my voice is more like um, it's like James Earl Jones. You know, or Morgan Freeman. Morgan Freeman. He's telling me, well. Do you ever imagine arguments in advance? Like in your head, like if I do this, this is gonna be the argument, and this is what's gonna happen. So you know what? Never mind. I changed my mind, I'm not gonna do it anymore. No. No? Okay. No, what? I never imagine an argument. That's the last thing I want to imagine. Yeah, I mean, sometimes it's it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Yes. Most of the time. Most of the time. I I want to say, most of the time, I'm first of all, thank you. Yes, I agree with you. Uh-huh. Yes. Who are you talking to, bro? The voice that's narrating this whole situation. Okay, now that you're saying that, that the narrating, why do people post on social media and all that like they're in a documentary? I you know what's funny about that is that I think fern broke. Hold on. I'm waiting, I'm waiting. I'm waiting to hear what's going on. Um, I think that what happens there is that most people don't know how to live their life without documenting it. Like, I'm cool with some things, like, oh, you know, you're at Disney Disney, you're at whatever. That's cool. Yeah, yeah. But you're on a trip, yeah, yeah, cool. Do I really need to hear like 9 a.m. going for going for a walk? Going for a walk. 9 30. Came back from my walk. 10 o'clock, having breakfast. You know what? I I I think that we should do that on our socials. I I don't think listen, it's hard enough to keep up with the world. Then having to keep up, like I I like to enjoy the moment. That's exactly what it is. It's like it's like when you go to a concert, right? And now everybody has their phone out recording the whole concert. Why aren't you just experiencing it? Well, our son went to a concert not so long ago. I forgot which one, but they went to a concert. They were not allowed to use their cell phones. That is correct. They had to put it like in a in a safe. In a safe or something. I don't know. They the whole stadium. They were not allowed to have their phone. Yeah, it was actually a uh a uh not a stadium. I think it was like a theater. It was an arena. It was an arena. It was actually a big arena. But was it? It was Ghost. Yes, there you go. They had a they had an entire their whole tour was the No Phones tour. Yeah. Where you had to come in and you had to put your your your thing in a in a lockbox. First of all, I was amazed they had that many lock boxes. Well, I I guess, you know, based on the amount of seats and so on and so forth that they saw in the tickets. Anyway, the point is that people are not experiencing life anymore. They're just documenting it. Like, we know that, you know, you gotta do this, and you know, oh, you're at the supermarket. Okay. I mean, I get it. Some people that's how they make a living. I'm not bragging on it. Okay, but there's some times. But then I'm that person that's like, oh, Fern didn't post. What happened to him? He didn't have his breakfast today. Well, that's not that I'm saying you post that like that. I'm just saying No, I'm gonna do it. I'm not gonna out people on it, but I'm just saying. Um just like we've witnessed, I mean, we've done it ourselves, but we've witnessed every at a restaurant, like every meal come out and the person starts. Taking out, they take out they won't let their spouse eat until it's not. It's like, wait, wait, wait. Wait, let me take a picture of that. It looks amazing. Listen, I get it. When you go somewhere and the food looks incredible, it's so incredible that you have to share it with other people. I get it. We do it. Yeah, that's why I did say we have done it. We don't do it always. But we do we do it when it's coming. In the sense of look at this look at this plate. It is incredible. Everyone needs to see it. Everyone needs to see it. Um yeah, unless you get kicked out of a restaurant. Oh, I went there, I went there. So here's the question. This is chaotic, guys. Here's the question. Here's the question. Welcome to our podcast of chaos where we start with one topic and it derails. It happens, it's unscripted. I'm gonna I'm gonna ask this question. You go to a restaurant to have a nice time with other people, with friends. Right. And you enjoy your meal. And by the way, the meal, spectacular. First time at this restaurant, by the way. First time we've ever been there. And the food was excellent. Excellent. And we were chatting. We were having a chat with the other couple. And we were having a good time. We were enjoying our time, we were having a chat, we were talking, da da da. You know? And then here comes Debbie Downer. The poor girl, we can't blame her. She was just doing her job. Well, they directed her to come to us. They came and said, excuse me, but we need this table for I'm sorry. I hate to do this to you. She did say that. Sorry. Sorry. It's you know, I hate to do this to you. But we need the table for another another group. I was told to ask you guys. See, you you know it much better than I do. Because I memorize certain things. Things like that. It's a pet piece. It's it's a pet peeve. Um she she was doing her job. The manager told her to come tell us. So, you know, we can't blame her neither. But she did. She felt embarrassed to come and tell us, hey, um you guys are done eating. Um the checker came. Yeah, we need you guys to go. Um, we she basically said we need the table for another party. Mind you, the other party had just gotten there, maybe. Yeah, it wasn't like there was a long nine, it was just one fam one group that was waiting. Um, and she's like, Well, yeah, we would need you guys to go already. I've never ever been to a restaurant. Ever. Ever. And been told, You gotta go. Let me tell you. Because you're done eating, we have people waiting. Mind you, there was another big party. I kind of feel like we were singled out. Singled out. But, anyways, there was another party there longer than us. Yep. Bigger group than us and longer than us. And they didn't tell them they had to go. I think they told them later on. Possibly. But I don't think so. And then we just did the Hispanic thing and still. We stood outside. Where they can still see us, where they can still see us and talked for like another 40 minutes or whatever. Because we were just having a good chat. We were having a good time talking. And uh And I was probably gonna order a dessert and we were gonna order. I wanted a remember when I when we drove off, I said, I really want a coffee. I really want a coffeecito. But the thing here is our whole point is have you ever been to a restaurant where they ask you, not because of anything bad or anything, that they ask you to just leave because they want to use the table. Yeah. We have asked some people and they have told us they've never heard of that happening. I've been to restaurants where they're like, oh, the people paid and they're just sitting there chatting, they've been there for like 45 minutes. I don't know how much longer it'll be. Yeah. I've never That's usually what it gets told to us. I've never heard of, hey, we need you to get up and go. Yeah. So we need to know if that's ever happened to you. So that kind of gave my five stars for the everything. It really did. It really did. It really did because it really did. You know, it was a it was a great spot. The food was great, but that right there kind of it really, it really dive bombed. Yeah, but anyway, so sorry. Um bring us back on the tr on the track, the road. So I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna ask you for a little bit here. Right? It's uh it's a it's a judge scenario. Okay, so we're gonna we're gonna sit here and say okay. I don't know. Is this main character energy? No, no. Is this main character energy? Okay. Or is it are you just Delulu? Well, half the time we're just Dululu. I'm pretty sure people are gonna tell us we're Delulu now, but okay. Alright. So how many times have I because I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say you because it's never you. Okay. How many times have I watched the rain fall on the window sp on the windowsill? You're an amazing character. Yep. Okay, that's what I thought. That's what I thought. How about posting cryptic Instagram captions hoping some particular person sees it? I've done that so what? I haven't done it recently, but I have done that. What? You got the hint. Not you. Um, I guess that would be Dululu. Sorry. Is it? Or are what part of my main character, but what? What? Oh my goodness. Oh, please don't be shocked. Because you'll look at it and go, mm. Oh, I know who you sent that for. Wow. And then you'll ask me later, did so-and-so essay anything? I know, don't pretend. I think everyone does that. Don't pretend. What? Anyway, okay. How about you? Have you? No. No, I literally post it and I say like this. Right? Like, like not too long ago, I posted something, and I think I said something along the lines of like I put it, I put a picture of Hades from from uh from Hercules. Okay. And he's and he's like chewing his lip, like, mmm, yeah, you know? And it says, I love to I I love making playlists that have no end. Don't you? Okay. I don't know. But that's because some people, like me, make playlists, and all of a sudden it starts out innocent. Did you send it to a specific person? No. Then it then what are you doing about? Because I I make playlists that end up they start off really nice and innocent with like, you know, 30 songs, and they end up being like a thousand plus songs by the time I'm done with it. What does that have to do with hoping one specific person sees it? Absolutely nothing. That's why I'm a main character. Because it don't matter. It don't matter. Whatever. I feel like I'm going to Lulu now. Well, sometimes. I I really feel like I just went to a whole other um. I don't know. I that was a lap. Anyways, what about growing up as a his like a Hispanic? We're Cuban, so he Cuban with the main character dreams. This could be personal or memorable. It could become either one man. Okay. I'll ask you the question. Okay. Because why not? Because you kind of threw put me on the spot now. I did. What happens when your dream doesn't fit the family blueprint? Now remember, you're Cuban main character. First of all, we'll just say that. No, I asked the wrong question. You did. Okay. You can bring it back to me, I guess. What about you? Alright, so the question is what happens when your dream doesn't fit the family blueprint? You're an outcast. You get reminded about it all the time. You become the little black sheep. The blueprint doesn't belong. Like it doesn't go. You get what I'm saying? Like you're looked at differently. Right. And that's in Hispanic households, pretty much. Right. But how about Cuban family realism versus dreamer brain? Well, that's me. Because I'm the dreamer. Yeah. You know, and then and then you're told paraiso. Stop that. Had to put my translator. Yeah, yeah. You had you, you know, you're you're told like, you know, get your head out of your butt. Out of your butt. Get your head out of the gutter and and get on with it, right? Think realistically is what you think realistically most. Right. At least this is from hold on, disclaimer. Our experience, because I don't want a hundred Hispanic people coming at us. Yes. Saying that that's not what they were taught. This is what we were taught in our life. Right. Like, like I was I was told to be practical constantly by my great-grandparents. Like they constantly, my grandfather too, my grandfather, he would always say, like, like, like, be practical. Like, stop over dreaming. You know, which is like how do you tell a young person, right? Like, whatever you're dreaming of, whatever you think, all of your dreams, make them more practical. Like I don't think I don't think we've ever done that with our kids. No. Because we always tell them dream big. Yeah. Achieve. Dream b dream big, achieve whatever makes you happy. Right. See, I was raised, my mom, and all that was very big on dream and what makes you money. Right. You know? Um re do your life to make money. Everything was money, money, money, money. Um, and I guess I'm in a disappointment on that part. Disappointment. Shame. Shame. Shame. Yeah. For me, it was all excuse me. What the heck was that? Sorry, I'm drinking a Diet Coke with Lime. It's my favorite thing. Um I was told constantly, like, cause because I'm a I'm a I'm a creator, right? I like I have a creative brain. Like I'm constantly coming up with new ideas and new things and new new voices in my head, new, new, new ideas, right? I'm I'm a storyteller. The voices in my head. Sorry. And uh and it was fine. It was old free. It is cold in this room. We we changed the studio. You moved us to a like this as you see, you created, and let's try a new area. But I think it's better. It is, but I'm freaking freezing. It's it is chilly in here. It is chilly. And someone said this room is the hottest room in the house. Insane. Insane. Okay. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's so so we'll see. Sorry. In case you're wondering why I'm going. You got a blanket there. Put it on. Um main character. So the thing is that you know, I was I was always coming up with stories and new ideas and new new like I was always get like the whatever action figures I had, and like they didn't belong to the story that I was telling, but it didn't matter because they just played a purpose. And then I was told like wake up. Why are you whispering it? You know, so it was like I don't want to ruin your character. Uh huh. I'm walking behind you telling the rest of the world what you're saying. Yeah, so so that was the whole thing. Like I would come up with these stories. Is there like an alarm? Did you hear that alarm? Or is that for a minute there? I was very, very concerned it was my pacemaker. Is it it's not? I heard I heard it. Okay, whatever, dude. Oh my god, we are so distracted by things. Anyway, that's because of the new atmosphere. The new atmosphere, it's a new, it's a new vibe. It's a new vibe. We got vibes up in here. So um, so I so basically I was like, I I would come up with all these crazy stories and crazy ideas, and then you know, I was told like, okay, that's good. Like, like, good for you, but you need to be realistic. And it was like, what do you mean? Like, dream responsibly. Dream responsibly. That is wow, that is exactly it, you know. Like, like with you, I think they just wanted you to be stable and make a lot of money. Thank you, and make a lot of money. Obviously, um, God had a different path for me, right? Um, you know, it is what it is. Would I change it? Um, I wouldn't per se say, oh I'm sorry, I would not say I would change everything in my life. Maybe I would have added a couple of things on the road, but nope. Like if I was told right now you can go back and change everything or continue. I say I'd continue. I wouldn't change anything in my life. I'm happy with what I have. We are blessed beyond measure. Money is not everything. It's not. It's not. It really, I mean, does it help? Heck yeah. I mean, you know. Hey, if you want to throw a couple million dollars this way, you don't have to be able to do that. I'll be happy with a couple hundred. I ain't gonna lie, but wow, we are on a different place. We are in a very different place. I'm realistic. I'm not greedy. You see, that's the problem. I'm not greedy. I dream big. I'm like, if you want to throw a couple million dollars this way, I'll be alright. And then you're like, a couple hundred dollars. I'm like, there's a big disconnect here. There's a mega disconnect. I'm just, you know, I'm grateful for whatever I have. Because I'm thinking a couple million dollars, we can go like to Greece for a little while, hang out, go go tour Europe, the be go be with the Europes. Listen, I'm already rich with you. So oh I said it. Wow. I am. I'm already rich with you and my and my kids. That's all I need in my life, in all honesty. We've been from the rock bottom to higher to the middle. We've been everywhere on the spectrum in that sense. And you know what? Yeah, I hit that. You got me all, you see? Anyways. Um same here though. Honestly, like I went, I don't think I'd change anything except having a couple million dollars. That'd be great. But um that would be the only hey, you know, listen. The the people that tell you, oh, uh, you know, money, it's like, well, you know what? I wouldn't mind having a little bit. And then I'll tell you how I feel about it afterwards. I just feel like sometimes success looks messier than people can imagine. Wow. That right there might drop Wow. Like, how do you follow how do I follow that up with anything? I mean, it's true. Listen, it works with being on your own and it works as a couple. Success, money, things like that look messier. They do than you can imagine. When at the end of the day, your riches beyond anything, as long as you're with each other. Everything else you can fall into place, figure it out. It's true. I'm just saying. I mean, this is straight up emotional core right now. Yeah, what can I say? You know, I'm here all day, guys. Here's here's the question though for today. Another question to add to all the other questions we've asked. At what age did you realize as adults, we are improvising life? This is like an emotional core here. Um, at what age did I realize adults were improvising? I want to say when I became an adult and I became a parent at 19, I was like, I've been lied to most of my life. People don't know what they're doing. Nobody knows what they're doing as a parent. First of all, if you're a parent and you know what you're doing, liar. Lies. I learned along the way. I mean, if you I mean, you know, if you let's be honest. You and I grew grew up with our daughter at the same time. Yes. Our daughter and us grew up together. We we raised each other. It's true, in all honesty, we pretty much did because we were young. We were yes, we're adults, mind you. If you're out there listening and you're 18, 19, 20, you're still a child. You don't know anything. But have kids. And that changes everything. Oh no, I'm more now. Wait, hold on. We're not telling people to go out there. We're not no, I'm saying what what I'm saying is if you're at that age and you have kids, it changes you. Mm-hmm. It does. And what it should do is change you so that you can rise above. Oh wow, you didn't say level up dring. Okay. Level up. No, because you you don't level up. You just have to rise above. Oh. You have very much. You're trying to do Hallmark. I'm trying to tell me, right. Okay. Man, I'm just not good at it. It's okay. You are. You're so good at it. Yours is the hallmark we find in Timu, but we're good. And that was good. It's the AliExpress version. Anyways. Um, okay, how about this? You wanna you wanted to come up with questions? Main character moment or a humbling experience. Okay. Singing dramatically in the car. I do that all the time. Main character. Main character. Straight. I've done that. Okay. Growing up, I used to do that like in the room singing and all that. I would pretend I was in a concert. I think we talked about this once, you and I. Okay. Now I'll ask you this question. Okay. Because this one applies directly to you. You're really sure about that, but go ahead. Universal. Mm-hmm. Tripping in public and pretending it didn't happen. It's a very humbling experience. Mr. I trip and fall everywhere. I do. I do. It's awful. And then say, when did the grass get there? Remember that one time we were ringing a doorbell and I you landed like five feet away. I don't know how. You rang a doorbell and I turned around and you weren't there anymore. Hilarious. But it's a humbling experience. It is. It is. How about imagining your comeback speech doing an argument? Oof. I try to do that all the time. The voice in my head tells me what to say. He always says, Let her know that this is what's happening. Because he's Morgan Freeman. I don't know. Oh. Oh. So it's a main character, I assume. Absolutely. What about sending a risky text then throwing your phone? Both. Yeah. I guess. I mean I guess. Yeah. Before we end it, what does how do you picture your main character dressed? Oh. Ooh. That's a good one. Uh probably like Neo in The Matrix. So if we made an action figure of you right now. Yes. Like in a box that says he wouldn't have sleeves. Okay. Okay, so so my main my action figure would be me. In a Misfitts t-shirt. Okay. No sleeves. Okay. A hat backwards. Okay. But the option of a trench coat. Oh, and and black skinny jeans with my bands. Okay. But the option for the trench coat. Because the Matrix. Hello. Okay. How about you? What would your figure? Um, I'm wearing a whole army suit. But? Yeah. Bot? At war at all times. I'm wearing a vest. Yeah. Bot? Yeah, I'm wearing a vest. Because I feel like Why does this not make any sense to me whatsoever? I thought you'd be wearing like a leather vest, some black trunks. No. Black boots. I'm ready for war, man, at all times. And you'd be walking in with two beers in your hand, going, oh, it's time to open up a can of whoopers. No. No? No. I'm wearing the ball head. But you wouldn't have the bald head because you're too cute for you. I'm not wearing I'm not G.I. Jane. G. I. Jane. Wow. But I forgot that exists. I'd just be, you know, army outfit, whatever, on the go. Like full-on army fatigues? Yeah. What about the back? In my life, I've been in a battle man. So Okay. Okay. I just keep coming out of the trenches somehow. Well. Here I am. Here I am. Well, you're in your trench coat. Someone's gotta fight off everyone. Here I am. That's true. I gotta make way for your character to come through. That's why we make a perfect team. It's true. It's true. You know? But, anyways, what chapter are you in? Of my story? Yeah. Oh, I'm like midway. Okay. Alright. If your life was a movie right now, what chapter title would this season be? This particular season that we're in, like right now? Or like just generally speaking? Um, you pick. It's your story. It's your movie. This would probably be act. Minus chaos with potential, but you know. I mean, I'm just it's not like I've put a lot of thought into this. Obviously. Obvious. I've had my title in the past has been The Weird Middle One. The weird middle one? Because my season's like in the middle, you know? You never know. Oh, oh. I'm just saying, whatever. I never even thought. Like, I'm I'm like trying to come up with that, and I'm like, I don't even know. But, anyways, if you guys took anything out of whatever chaos we are talking about, maybe main character energy isn't thinking you're better than everyone. Maybe it's just believing your story matters even when life looks messy. I got it. It's rebuilding. That's this chapter. Wow. Sorry. I had a good thing going, and that's like you had your moment. Sorry. And you weren't ready. Wow. Okay. Whatever. That just lands with heart without getting cheesy, I guess. Yes. It does. Yes. Gets cheesy. But, anyways. Um, is there anything else? No, I guess our main characters. I'm going back to war, and you're just, I don't know what you're doing, looking amazing. Like just amazing? Yeah. Alright. I look like like like uh like I'm about to go into that that the blade scene, you know, when okay, sorry. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe. Follow us on Instagram at Limitless Couple305 as we continue our movie, our life story here with you guys while we are rebuilding the chaos with potential. Yes. Thanks for listening to us today.
