Oh my god, and you send them all to me then. And then you still make me, you ask me, have you seen the ones I sent you? And then you still make me sit and watch it on the TV with you.

I do. I do. I I actually really enjoy those. And then we start arguing about whether free breakfast is a necess is a necessity or luxury.

I think it's a necessity because it's something I didn't have to pay for.

I'm just saying it's something I didn't have to pay for. So let's break this down. Vacation planning is basically the Olympics. First event, the budget gymnastics. You start with $800 and somehow end up booking a trip that cost $2,400.

I should have. I should have. What a mistake. So packing. You get to where where I pack 14 outfits for a three-day trip and still wear the same t-shirt the whole time.

And make it make sense. You still are purchasing outfits for this three-day trip that you already packed 14 outfits for, but now you have bought an additional six or seven. So don't leave it at 14. Because we all know you bought new ones that you're not going to even wear.

You only wear it on the trip, and then you never wear it when you get home.

And one person says, Amazing stay, loved it here. Great staff. And then the next one, right underneath it, says, There was a bug. We are suing emotionally. Don't stay here. And then I'll be like, Fern, this one says there was a bug. And he's like, that was in 1999. And I'm like, but still they had a bug.

I'll tell you, I'll tell you this. You said something funky, which is emotionally suing. That's wild. But wildly accurate as well.

Like you'll be like, oh man, the beds were like you'll sh you'll read them to me. Comfortable, nice, solid. I saw a cockroach. Different reviews. And then we'll be like, oh, a cockroach. What? But out of all of them, out of the 14 reviews that were like comfortable, amazing, nice, amazing, there's the one that says bug.

And that's the one we get caught up on. Every time. Every time. Bug.

Um, and then we're like, did the hotel respond? Because on these reviews, sometimes hotels do respond.

Did they did they say that review was uh uncalled for, or was it one of those where they're like, We saw we're sorry you had such a experience? Come back and we'll make it up to you, which they never say. They never do.

And by the way, guys, I make Fern sit here and listen to me do all this. And he's already like, just pick the one you want. And I'm like, but this review said, but then he gets into it. He really does. He gets into it when I mention a bug.

If if you book a hotel, if you book a hotel and you're going there very late at night because you know you finish working, whatever, and you're on your you know, you make it there at a very late night. And they have bulletproof glass. Um think just just question certain things. That's all. Bulletproof class makes you wonder. That is all.

I think there was also one a while a long time ago that we showed up to late at night, and I think it was like there was nothing around, it was just like by itself. It was it was yeah, and um the lights were flickering outside, yes, and it was very questionable. And we just drove by it and said, never mind.

But we've never had a bad experience, like just like the one that we uh went into that uh smelled like like pure uh cigarettes or whatever. And it was like, man, we couldn't, like it was so strong. We couldn't.

Because of the kids, but we wanted And me. We we didn't want the kids to ever feel like we couldn't in we didn't want to go on a vacation and be like we can't afford the vacation. We kind of didn't couldn't afford the vacation, let's not lie, anyways.

They didn't know that, so we didn't care. Like right now, hotel-wise, we don't really care about the big luxury hotels because we're only there really to sleep and shower.

But we don't stay at those 1999 anymore. We don't use those coupons because we've learned our lesson.

Yes, you know, but there's always that moment where one of us goes quiet, and it's usually fern, usually me. Um just so you know, that's not peace, that's called burnout, fern. Oh that's that's that quietness that you think that I have peace for. It's the burnout of me staring at flight prices or hotel prices, going, man, do you think they're gonna apologize to me and drop $200?

They're not, they're not, and then when you say maybe we just just stay home, and I actually mean it for maybe six minutes, and then I go back to planning my vacation.

Yeah, and then you're right back at it. But let's talk of okay. How about that's just planning a vacation, just you and me, right? How about when you add a group chat? Because once you add family or friends or family and friends all together, planning a vacation, everything gets escalated.

Um so I'm usually the one that informs him because the type of work he has, he he can be as distracted hearing the phone going ding ding ding ding because you know, then he really wants to know what's going on. So he just gets home and remember that five-minute rule that we talked about in one of our episodes, once again.

Exactly. Because instead of 47 tabs open, arguing about hotel reviews or questionable hotels and comparing airports and or how we're gonna get there or if we have to rent a car, you just pick one thing. It's called a ship. And suddenly, boom, your whole life is handled.

It's so true. On land, I'm comparing flight times, I'm negotiating all kinds of craziness. But on a cruise, I'm just like tell me where to show up and where the food is at.

It's just a constant fern bashing here. You love it. You know. You know what else I love? That's not that no one asking. What's the plan tomorrow? Because the plan is always the same. Eat, swim, eat again, take nap, repeat, eat, get a little sucked, watch a show, sleep, eat. It's always the same.

That is true. It's the only vacation where you can just be lazy but with confidence because there's no schedule in the sense as we don't have to catch a car to go here to go there because on a ship they have multiple shoal times.

That is true, it kind of does. Um maybe we don't hate vacation planning after all. Maybe we just love anything that removes vacation planning from our lives.

That was good. We do do vac we do love cruising. We do mostly cruising, and I think it's because Fern has accepted. Let's just do the cruising because it's gonna stop Nat from telling me for the next two months the 48 different tabs of hotels and what do we do while we're there, and like then Fern doesn't have to come up with a whole itinerary of different things to do. And I think that's why he gives into my cruising ideas.

Yeah, the rooms are all the same, they're small, you know. Um, but we're let's be honest, think about it. When we've been on a cruise, we're not in the room that much. We really try to enjoy everything on the ship.

We usually will go back and we do take a nap because for some reason, I don't know why, but napping on a cruise ship is different than coming home and napping.

Fraternities groups. All of a sudden, we'll be walking around the ship, holding hands, and spending time together, and you'll hear random guys, young guys, yelling at him, and he all of a sudden knows their their handshake or whatever.
