Mary encourages listeners to invite the Holy Spirit to gently reveal areas of vulnerability so He can bring healing, restoration, and greater emotional and spiritual freedom.

Discover how partnering with the Great Physician can strengthen your heart, restore your soul, and help you respond to life from a place of wholeness rather than woundedness.

I want to start today's podcast by telling a story that produced a circumstance where the Holy Spirit really asked me a very specific question that has been super helpful over the last several years. I've been living in this home for a couple of years, and when this happened, I was just walking through the living room and all of a sudden the alarm goes off. Now that was pretty weird because I had not activated the alarm. I didn't have an alarm company. I didn't know the alarm code. It was just a box on the wall that I ignored because it wasn't active. But it was midday, and all of a sudden the alarm starts going off full blast. I ran over to the box and opened the panel and had no clue about any code. So I just started pulling out the batteries. I thought maybe it would be like a smoke alarm, but that did not stop the alarm from going off. So I was able to open another little compartment and actually pull out the wires and finally got it to stop. And it was just the oddest thing because again, I didn't have any alarm service and I'd never heard the alarm go off. And after my heart quit pounding a little bit, I just felt the whisper of the Holy Spirit say, Mary, where are you vulnerable? And I thought, huh, interesting. I'm not for sure. Lord, where am I vulnerable? This happened several years ago, and the Lord showed me an area in my life at that time where He wanted to shore it up to get me in a position of more emotional safety and help me get rid and really eliminate vulnerability. Vulnerability can be a good word and it can be a part of intimacy and connection with other people, but I knew the Lord was talking about vulnerability that could lead to harm or a lack of safety or security. I think that's a great question to ask the Holy Spirit. And I still, to this day, ask him that periodically. Of course, I think he's prompting me to ask. I don't think I'm going to sit around and ask him that, but occasionally that'll come back up in my heart. And I know it's the Spirit prompting me because he's wanting to focus on an area in my life that I'm unaware of. It's nowhere on my radar. I know recently the Holy Spirit has shown me some areas of health, even though I'm living a very healthy life. I came out of prison so sick. My health journey has been very long and at times very hard. But he has been so faithful to take me through each season of wholeness, and I'll focus on mold and fungus and mycotoxins and get rid of so much of the load on my immune system, and then he'll focus on something else, like just straight-up nutrition. And he's an amazing coach, really, the Holy Spirit is. But that's just a question to consider talking to the Lord about. Is there any area where I'm vulnerable that you can help me with? It could be medical, it could be your thought life. How's your thoughts towards yourself? Through the years, as I've gotten in touch more and more with the heart of the Father and how he sees me and how he's exactly like Jesus. I've come to accept myself, I've come to embrace myself. I just have tons less self-rejection and self-condemnation. It's not a habit in my life anymore. And I know recently the Lord showed me an area of pain in my emotions that was left over some residue that I had not seen before in this way. Every place where I have emotional weakness or pain or trauma, unhealed trauma, it's a vulnerability. Because where I have unresolved pain, a normal circumstance can trigger me, and then I react instead of being able to respond. And he gave me a key, this was just about two weeks ago. He said, Marry some very important people in your life. When they showed you indifference, you perceive that as rejection. And indifference doesn't mean that. But I know it's an area of vulnerability because it's a pocket of pain that's unresolved. And pockets of pain are like huge balls that you're trying to hold under the water. And I tell you, they'll just pop up. And they'll pop up in a circumstance or in a relationship that it just doesn't match. And so I've got a ton less triggers than I did when I first got out of prison. And I want to have a ton less in the next year. And it's something that the Holy Spirit wants to solve. He wants to restore our soul. And trauma and pain and rejection are all areas that can make us vulnerable to the enemy and to ourselves in a way that we can't respond to circumstances in love. And it limits our ability to receive the love of the Father. So I would encourage you, consider asking the Holy Spirit, where am I vulnerable? And is there any area in my life that you would like to heal or to eliminate a vulnerability? And see what he says. And then walk with him. Let him guide you. Let him be the great physician and let him restore your soul. All right, thanks for listening.
