SPEAKER_01

Welcome to Flip Devotional the Podcast, where each week Martha Shannon, the author of Flip Devotional the Book, and Steve Shannon discuss the readings from the week. If you haven't gotten Flip Devotional of the Book, it is available as an ebook with Barnes and Noble. You can still get it as a book on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. And we invite you to do that. So welcome this week. This is we are discussing March 31st readings through April 6th readings. Texas has joined us. I'm pretty excited about that. And just our friends actually got to have a conversation with a friend this week who listened and said how much they enjoy it. And that's just it's nice to hear.

SPEAKER_00

We're ready.

SPEAKER_01

All right. So we're doing March 31st, and then we're jumping into April, and April is Easter, but let's let's finish March 1st. March 31st. Yes. March 31st is Jude 24 and 25. So those are verses 24 and 25, because Jude is just one chapter. Just one chapter. So you don't have to say Jude 1 because there is not a Jude 2.

SPEAKER_00

Correct.

SPEAKER_01

These two verses, I love. We used to live in Nashville, and when we lived there, we went to Belmont Church. This was many, many years ago. Oh my gosh, this is so crazy how long ago it was, because Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith were, they were starting, they were popular. But they went to this church when we first started going there. I remember Michael W. Smith inviting Amy Grant to come down and help teach the congregation a song, and it was thy word. So that I mean that ages me, but that's okay. It was fabulous. These the connection here is these verses were made into a song, not by Michael W. Smith. I don't know who did it, but it was a song and we would sing it and I loved it. I loved the words of the verses, but then I also loved the song. So I'm going to sing just a little bit of it. I'm not going to do the whole thing. But if there's anyone else out there who was at Belmont that um heard this, if anybody knows who wrote it, uh that would be amazing to find out who it was. So it would go to him who was able to keep you from falling to present you before his glorious presence. And then it would repeat that and go on. So very good, very good. It was a beautiful song. Um, I I love this passage um where it says God keeps you from stumbling, he keeps you from falling, was the version that was in the song, to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy. I I just love the thought of that. Again, that God is doing the work. Um God loves us, God wants us, and and he's going to present us without fault because he tosses our sins as far as the east is from the west.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I like the glory, majesty, power, authority. You know, our God our savior, right? By glory, majesty, power, authority. That covers it, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And before, now, and forever.

SPEAKER_01

So all right. So now we go to April. The whole month of April in the flip devotional is dedicated to Easter. Easter typically how how often is I looked it up.

SPEAKER_00

It's about, they said 60 to 65 percent, two of two-thirds almost of all Easters farming. Yeah, in the month of April. The rest are in March. So, but it's really so I would think if you asked most people when Easter was, they would probably say April.

SPEAKER_01

So all the scriptures in April are the Easter story. Right. They're a part of the Easter story.

SPEAKER_00

And pieces of all four gospels, right?

SPEAKER_01

So Yeah. So April 1st um starts out, the uh the plot begins for them to uh want to arrest Jesus. So the passage is John eleven, verses forty-five through fifty-three. Um it says that well. Um they were coming together and and they were worried.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and they were meeting at the Sanhedrin, which is kind of like Congress.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Or city council or whatever, but and Jesus is getting some traction now.

SPEAKER_01

People are believing in him, um, and these head people are are worried about what's gonna happen. Um I as I was reading this, I thought, you know, they maybe had good reason to worry. And it's easy for us to look at this and to think, what were, you know, what were they thinking?

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

But they don't know the whole story. They don't know the end.

SPEAKER_00

Right. They don't know and they're in the middle of it. Yeah. It's happening, you know, they're gonna say it's happening to us, right? And and not that we have to make excuses for or apologize for them, but they clearly, you know, if we let him go on like this, him being Jesus, go on like this, everyone will believe in him. Like they knew it. Then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.

SPEAKER_01

Which is something to worry about.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, that's that's a big deal.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. And, you know, the Romans will come, they just wouldn't take it away. It would be a miserable experience. So are they trying, with their limited understanding, to move forward and protect, you could say, you know, their community, their their country, their people, all you know, the Jews in and around Jerusalem. So I think whether that's 100% accurate, it it is possible to frame it that way, to talk about it, that you know, if we think the Romans are gonna do this, right, then we don't want that to happen.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Right. Um, I thought of it as if you're watching uh a Who Done It or you know, a mystery, the first time you watch it, you are you know trying to figure out what's gonna happen, what's going on, and and you have it narrowed down to like four people. Okay, I'm pretty sure it's one of these four. And then often it ends up not being any of those. You watch it again, and then you obvious. Yeah, and you're seeing, oh, see, they were right there, or they did that. And yeah, so we are reading this and going through it like they would the second time. We know, we know who done it. Yes, so we're seeing all the pieces fall together easily, but but these guys, and I I mean, I don't know why I'm going on and on about this. It's just we often read these things, and we're gonna get to Judas later, and you know, we're always like, how could he? How could people do that? How could they not know? How could they not believe? It's like, would we if someone came up to us today and they said, I'm Jesus, would we believe them?

SPEAKER_00

Well, we had a guy at church several months ago who said uh the rapture is coming in 30 days. He said it repeatedly. No one believed him that the rapture was coming in 30 days. It didn't come, but you know, people didn't believe him. And and and part is why would you? You know, so I think it's it's we somehow dismiss the Jewish leaders, we you know, hold them accountable. They're not innocent, but at this point, and this is John 11, right? It's it's you know, it's it's not near the end. It's still we're trying to figure out you know what the next step is.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And also in this at the end here, Caiaphas is the high priest, and he says, Um, you do not realize it is better for you that one man die for the people than the whole nation perish. And in some ways, that's the story of Jesus. I mean, he he did die for me and you and anyone listening. That was what happened, right? So I don't think that was Caiaphas's intention.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

In some ways, he under he's kind of foretelling, foreboding, right? Exactly, you know. And again, we know that because we've read the whole story.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Right. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So but that's this kind of sets the table for what comes on next, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yeah, because it it says at the very end, from that day on, they plotted to take his life. So they are continually looking for is this a good time? How are we gonna do it? Type thing. That is their intention.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

And they're gonna keep going for it. Yeah. All right, so April 2nd is Mark 14, uh, verses 3 through 9. And this is the story of when Jesus was anointed at Bethany. And Bethany is where Lazarus was from. Lazarus is Martha and Mary and Lazarus, Lazarus that died and was raised from the dead. Um, the Martha and Mary, the Martha, Martha, Martha, who's always busy doing stuff, and then the Mary who's the perfect Mary, who's sitting at Jesus' feet, and so it's it's that crew.

SPEAKER_00

Um little animosity there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, just a little bit, you know, being a Martha, Martha, Martha. Yep. Um, so I read this in the one that's written here is from Mark. Um, I read it in one or two of the other gospels, and it's it's kind of interesting how it just varies a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

So here we have there Jesus is reclining at the table in the home of Simon the leper.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So he's Simon the Leper.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. You assume he's not a leper anymore.

SPEAKER_00

I guess not. Because you know, back then you'd you'd have to call out.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Leper, leper, so no one gets close to him.

SPEAKER_01

Unclean, unclean, yeah. So people would stay away. Yeah. Um, but in the the same town as Lazarus and them, uh so we have this in this passage it says a woman came with an alabaster jar, a very expensive perfume. And she broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. And um the the people are very upset that she wasted this perfume this way, that it could have been sold to help the poor.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um and Jesus, like, leave her alone. Um very in he says, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her, which is true. I hear this story all the time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. And it was pure nard, which was a perfume. And they think it was worth like a year's wages. And I I looked this up, I don't know how accurate this is. They said today that depending on how much it was, it could be as much as fifty thousand dollars. Wow. In today's dollars, but still it was you know, money that clearly, clearly, and here's you know, so it's more than a year's wages.

SPEAKER_01

And one of the other gospels um says names the woman as Mary, uh-huh, and says it was Lazarus' sister, Mary, who did it. Uh it was I it was also alluded to in one of them that she didn't use the whole whole all the perfume, that she had some that she used later maybe for his death. Because I think she was one of the Marys at the end.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I mean it's Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, I think is what the Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And remember, we we are not theologians, we have not been through seminaries, so we're just giving this our best our best stabbing. Um, I did read some in Matthew Henry's commentary about it. Um and um oh oh actually this was the twice thing. This is why I read Matthew Henry's that uh they had he had dinner twice. He had dinner at Lazarus' house, and then he had dinner at Simon the Leper's house, and that she anointed him both places.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, one was his washed his feet with with the perfume, yes, and used her hair.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so treatment.

SPEAKER_00

I also think this is interesting. The poor you will always have with you. You can help them anytime you want. And w we're still debating that issue today. How to help the poor, what's the appropriate level of support we should give to the poor, you know, what are the challenges, but you know, 2,000 years ago, apparently this was a topic.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I just double-checked the companion verse for this one is John chapter 12, 1 through 8, which is the anointing. And in John, it says that they were at Lazarus' house. Um, Martha served, yes, of course.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_01

And Mary showed off. Took the perfume and poured it on his feet and wiped it with her hair. So um none of the gospels have both stories. So I think that's what makes it a little confusing. But it seems pretty clear that there was the eating at Lazarus and she did it, and then eating at Simon the Lepers and she did it.

SPEAKER_00

And even the confusion, the point is this event took place, and it was, you know, Jesus wasn't critical of her, whether it was Mary or somebody else, and didn't want other people to be. It's a wonderful thing she has done, right? And and we're talking about it still, and he said we will. Right?

SPEAKER_01

And when he says, you know, you'll always have the poor, uh it could come across arrogant.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Like, you know, let her do this for me, you'll always have the poor. But the people that were complaining about it, I don't know. I kind of feel like their attitude was, you know, oh, how wasteful. This we could have used to help the poor. I was like, well, did you have other stuff you could have helped to use the poor and you chose not to use? And you have it, yes. And and you're just jumping in on this because you're upset that she's doing this?

SPEAKER_00

The money, and they said, you know, could have been sold for more than a year's wages than the money given to the poor. But even if you think about it, that's be a one-time event. At some point, that money runs out. So maybe Jesus is saying, you will always have the poor anyway. This is not gonna fix the poor. She, you know, if she if this money was sold, referring to sold and given to the poor, doesn't mean there are no more poor. So you you're still gonna have that, right? And he says, prepare for my burial. He knew what's coming up. Right. You know, because he wasn't that old.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

You know, he's 30 or something, right? Whatever average. 33, yeah. 33. So, you know, whatever you live to, I've heard yesterday someone said Paul lived to almost be 90. I don't know if that's true or not. But but you live more than 33 years. So his burial wasn't imminent. So right.

SPEAKER_01

All right. So April 3rd is Luke chapter 19, 28 through 38. Um, this is when Jesus comes in to Jerusalem uh as a king.

SPEAKER_00

Treated like a king.

SPEAKER_01

Treated like a king.

SPEAKER_00

But he's riding a colt, he's not riding a steed, he's not riding, you know, you know, a thoroughbred horse. He's, you know, he's not bad. He's riding a donkey, actually. Right? So it's not that. It's also kind of interesting. They're at the Mount of Olives, right? Beth Page, Bethany places, you know, we've heard about before.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, and he says to two disciples, we don't know who, right? Right. Because the disciples, you have the twelve apostles, disciples are other followers. Go to the village ahead of you. As you enter, you will find a cult there, tied there, which no one has ridden. No one has ridden. So this cult has not been trained, right? Right. And untie it and bring it to me. And they do that. The Lord needs it. And they say, okay. They go and do it, first of all. How did Jesus know? Well, we know how Jesus knew, but you know, okay. And there's a cult there. And when when you look into what a cult, it's probably two-year-old donkey, right? Because a young donkey is also a cult, not just a horse, but it could be a colt. Uh, and it lists it as they're very dangerous.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Very dangerous to ride.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_00

Because it it never happened. They never, you know, you know, you had to break the colt, I guess. Never happened. So that's another piece that we don't really talk about, right? But untie the colt, the Lord needs it. Okay. You know. No question, right? And then he parades into town, right? The whole crowd, joyfully, praise God, right? Loud voices. So this is the entrance, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And and this is The same as some of the gospels have palm branches.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Some have coats.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So this one has the cloaks.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

That they put on the road.

SPEAKER_00

And they put cloaks on the colt like a saddle, right? Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

But then there's another one that says they had palm branches and they waved them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Which on Palm Sunday is a very common thing for churches to do with kids. Right.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Just to remember that. And and it is very much a um what like a 180 from we're cheering him on, we're treating him like a king, he's our hero, hoo-hoo-hoo, to when he's crucified and hardly anyone is there of his followers and friends.

SPEAKER_00

The crowds mocking him.

SPEAKER_01

And yeah, yeah. So totally, totally different.

SPEAKER_00

Look at that. The young cult is unpredictable and potentially dangerous, but unpredictable. There's a cult there. And he said, right? You will find a cult there, which no one has ever written.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. Yeah. All right. Then we go to April 4th.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm sorry. Well, no, I'm just saying, we now have Jesus entering. Yes. Right. You know. So he's figured out, you know, this is happening. Let's go. And now we're he's entering Jerusalem as part of the Easter story progresses throughout.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So April 4th is Matthew chapter 26, verses 14 through 16. And this is when Judas agrees to betray Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

And we And Judas was one of the twelve apostles. I mean, he was the inner circle.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

You know?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So And the one who took care of the money, apparently.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes.

SPEAKER_01

Um and and we all, you know We we kind of shame Judas. I mean, I guess I don't know. It just we don't know what he was thinking.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Did did he do this with the intention of Jesus being arrested and killed?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I thought someplace, probably a sermon. That was, you know, he didn't know what was gonna take place, right? But he he clearly is, you know, he did betray him as we read later this week, you know, or maybe next week, yeah next week's podcast. But yeah, yeah. But it's interesting here, he goes, right, talks to them, 30 pieces of silver, right? That's what he paid him, right? 30 pieces of silver. Exodus if a slave is killed by a bull, it's 30 pieces of silver.

SPEAKER_01

And you know what else? This isn't 30, it's 20. Joseph was sold for 20 pieces of silver.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So we read the story and hear 30 pieces of silver, may not know. You know, Exodus has a lot of rules on what goes on, right? What happens, you know, if if the bull had killed before, it's worse than the bull had not killed before, all these different things. But it said 30 pieces of silver. The religious leaders knew the significance of 30 pieces of silver.

SPEAKER_01

Judas So it was a slave?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, a slave killed by a bull.

SPEAKER_01

The person who owned the bull would pay 30 pieces of silver. So a slave was worth 30 pieces.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And and Joseph, who wasn't a lot before that, was 20 pieces. And he was basically being sold as a slave.

SPEAKER_00

As a slave. Yeah, yeah. You know. So you know, it's this is years later, but the point is, is, is I I think uh the religious leaders understood the significance of 30 pieces of silver. It could be interpreted, it could be already that way. That from their perspective, Jesus was no more valued than a slave. May or may not be true, but it is interesting that it shows up both times, that amount of money.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. All right.

SPEAKER_00

April 5th.

SPEAKER_01

April 5th and 6th are kind of a combo. They're Mark chapter 14, starts at verse 12 and goes through verse 26. So these two days together make up the Last Supper.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Which is called the Last Supper now because it was the Last Supper. But then it was called Passover.

SPEAKER_00

They were preparing for the Passover, which is still celebrated today, right? You know, years ago, a lady I worked with was having a Passover meal and invited us up. Seder, right? The Seder, the meal, and you had the whole deal. Um Jewish families here, part of that is it's not in it written down, but they said the youngest person at the table would go and look for Elijah. That was part of the tradition. Um and and the youngest person of the child was someone I had met, uh, person with relevant disabilities, but they're looking, and they lived here in Lexington, and there's was a pharmacy in downtown that would deliver ice cream. So she's going looking for Elijah. She opens the front door, and the delivery guy is there. And I can remember, you know, one of their family stories that they kind of cherish. She yells out, Elijah is here and he has ice cream. Which, you know, Elijah coming back is pretty cool. It's not written out anywhere, but with ice cream, in my opinion, even better.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so this was uh common. Yes. It was on the calendar. It's like, okay, this is what we're doing.

SPEAKER_00

It goes back to Moses.

SPEAKER_01

So when Jesus says, and well, and even the disciples are like, you know, where are we gonna do this? Like it's time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

What's what's the plan?

SPEAKER_00

To make preparations for you to eat the Passover.

SPEAKER_01

And and Jesus gives them some direction of kind of like the cult thing. Yes, go in and into the city.

SPEAKER_00

So it's Jerusalem, it's not a village. Yeah, you know.

SPEAKER_01

So and one thing I took from this was people were following God, following Jesus, hearing, like this person that they went to, uh, he was carrying water.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, he was.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And they're like, uh, we're supposed to have Passover with you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And he showed them a large room furnished and ready.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So this person heard from God.

SPEAKER_00

You need to have really it's he's carrying a jar of water, right? We'll meet you. Follow him, say to the owner of the house, he enters. So the guy with the water isn't the owner of the house. Right. He's just some guy who's going there. Just going there.

SPEAKER_01

Well, probably a slave.

SPEAKER_00

Could be, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Servant, whatever.

SPEAKER_00

And this says the population of Jerusalem was maybe between 20,000 and 50,000 people.

SPEAKER_01

Back then?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Wow. And no one had plumbing. Right. A lot of people carrying water, I would suspect.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right.

SPEAKER_00

Jesus said go.

SPEAKER_01

But this owner.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's people say, well, I don't know that I hear God. I don't know if God talks to me, blah, blah, blah. Um, this guy obviously has a relationship with God where he hears. I'm sure this is not the first time God has spoken to him. Yeah. And and heard from God that he needed to have a room available.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And um, and he did.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He had it all set up, ready to go.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he says the teacher asks, where is my guest room? Right.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

And this guy is upstairs, large room. And you know, there's a book that comes out. What is that? The room upstairs or the up, right?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, the upper room.

SPEAKER_00

The upper room, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Yeah, yes.

SPEAKER_00

This is it, the upper room. Furnace and ready.

SPEAKER_01

Devotionals, yes. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And then the disciples left, went into the city, but like the the cult, they went ahead and did it, right? They weren't wondering, right? That old Jesus is a nut. There's all sorts of people carrying water, right? We need water.

SPEAKER_01

So and then Jesus says the infamous, you know, one of you's gonna betray me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And they they all get sad and and look at each other, like, not me, not me. And and this is something that I none of us knows for sure how it played out. But you said the one who dips bread into the bowl with me is the one who will betray me. Well, we know because we know the whole story. We know Judas betrayed him, obviously.

SPEAKER_00

And he was there.

SPEAKER_01

But we know Peter betrayed him.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And we know the other ten. They're all gone. Yeah. You know, we know that. But it also, when you read it the first time, it's the one who dips bread into the bowl with me. Okay. When I first read that, it's like it sounds like two people are dipping, and it's probably some sort of oil that you would dip a piece of bread in the oil, right? You know, um, add flavor to it or something, right? Equivalent maybe like butter almost on toast or something. And the one who dips it into the bowl with me, so you think, well, we know who it is. Who dipped? But I suspect they all dipped. Right? There's a common practice.

SPEAKER_01

Right, because they he says this, and and you would think everyone is watching.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Who's who's going to oh, it's it's him, it's him.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But nobody seems to know.

SPEAKER_00

So, you know, again, the with me is not at the same time as I do. We're all here together, right? You know, I had dinner with Bob. It doesn't mean I ate the same thing as Bob. We were at the same place at the same time. So I don't know if that's accurate. Again, you know, we didn't study this, but when I read it the first time, who dipped? We all know. Right. It had to be Judas. Judas must be the dipper.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right.

SPEAKER_00

And maybe he's a double dipper. I mean, oh, that's awful, right? So it goes on. But woe to the man who portrays the son of man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and the really hard line, it would be better for him if he had not been born.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's hard.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's hard.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, this is really stressful stuff. Right? I mean, really, you're wondering, gosh, who's, you know, the battery had not been born. Jeez. And this is Jesus speaking. He didn't talk like that a lot, right? Right. And we got mad at the temple, threw the tables over, just, you know. Better not been born. Oh my gosh. That can't be good.

SPEAKER_01

Then the next day, the rest of the story, the rest of the Passover, this is the part that we are probably all familiar with because it's repeated whenever you have communion at church. And he says he broke bread, gave thanks, said, Take it, this is my body. And then took the cup. Drink this, this is my blood. Now something that I thought was interesting. Back in back in John chapter 6, um, verse 53, Jesus said to them, Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. You know what happened after he said that? People left him.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

They're like, oh my gosh, what is he saying?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Eat his flesh, drink his blood. Yeah. Like this sounds weird. And so people who were following him deserted him.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

They're like, uh-uh, I'm not having anything to do with that. He's saying the same thing here.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And no one says anything.

SPEAKER_00

But again, I always wonder, what are people thinking? Right? You know, what does this mean? Now they saw the bread and the wine, but still that analogy. This is my body, this is my blood. You know, is my body broken for you? This is, you know, do this in remembrance of me. Okay. You know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And in in the John chapter six passage, also in John chapter six is when he talks about that he's the bread of life. You know, they they took that. They're like, okay, yeah, you're the bread of life. This is good. But then when he said, you know, now you need to eat my flesh and drink my blood.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So I just thought that was kind of interesting. I I don't it's not a natural connect. Oh, let's talk about these two at the same time thing. But I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I agree. It's it's something when we get to heaven we can ask about.

SPEAKER_01

Thank goodness.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

All right.

SPEAKER_00

So that wraps up that week, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So we've we've started Easter. We'll we'll keep going with it. Uh actually Easter was this week.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um so yeah, happy Easter.
