Fit For The Master's Use

Those of the body of Christ, striving to live their lives for the Lord, should surrender and yield themselves to be used by the Master, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Hence, there is work to be done that we may become fit for the Master's use and for the work of his ministry.

We cannot think nor feel as though we can just give unto him mediocre service and worship.  Our service and worship unto him, must be of our most holy and righteous quality, of which our Lord deserves.

We give honor to God this morning. Praise God. Praise God. So heaven and all you have joined me. We're so glad to be in another month. This first Sunday of November, 2024. I thank God this morning, because today marks 19 years, 19 that I have been pastor of the Holy City, Spirit of Truth Ministries. Church, I thank God, because only He has allowed me to uh come this far. For He has been with me. I pray that everyone has a restful sleep, that this daylight saving time we gained the hour last night. We should be well rested, ready to hear the word. Chris, I'm ready to dive into it myself. So let's not belong the time. I want to deal with an uh an area this morning. Seems like I'm always dealing with certain areas in the word, but that's all right. That's that's the kind of ministry God is giving me. Excuse me. Still trying to get over this nagging cough that I've had for a couple of days. But anyway, we're going forward. This morning, I want to talk about an area of study in the Word of God. Well, I hope that it will enlighten us or make us even more aware of become aware of one of the one of the reasons why we are here, why we have been called, why we are saved. And this is in the area that we need to get in mind this here, that we are to be striving to live a life whereby we become fit for the master's use. Too many people of God, too many sons and daughters of people who call themselves children of God, are not fit for the master's use. God can't use you. Now that's a reason why God ain't using you. And we need to understand why God is not using us. Too many of us right now can't say when the last time God used us for his kingdom, for his business. And we're gonna we're gonna find out why this morning. Because the word tells us that we ought to be fit for the master's use. You're gonna find in the word of God, it's gonna say meet for the master's use. That word meat is a Hebrew word, it's gonna mean uh fit for, equipped, suitable, qualified to be fit for the master use. Some of us ain't qualified to be used by God because we won't leave the world alone. We won't leave sin alone. God can't use you like that. And this is what we're gonna be focusing our study on this morning. Today's message is fit for the master's use. There are many desires in this life we feel that we can become useful in. Well, we want to be useful, and we want to be used in other areas. Many things in this life we are made glad that we become good at doing. Makes us feel good about ourselves. It can even feel quite encouraging when others find us useful to them. When somebody can, oh, we just love being somebody needed. We are made to feel valuable, wanted, needed. This is a good feeling to feel when a person is appreciated, when you feel like you appreciate it. But I wonder then, why is it that this same effort and enthusiasm is not portrayed in the becoming useful to God? Mm-hmm. I'm throwing some courage this morning to the point of God being able to use us in the business of his kingdom. Why we ain't enthused about being used by God, we want to be used in this world, we want to be used in other people's lives, but when the last time we put an effort in the putting ourselves in a place where God can use us, the master. I know of a truth that to be useful for the master, there must be the seed of his son in us. For us to have even the slightest desire to be fit for his use, it's got to be some Jesus in you, but you don't even want to for us to even have that desire to want to be used by the master. Some of us ain't never had that desire, despite the fact that many may stray from the truth of God. You're gonna still have a lot of people out there playing with the Lord, playing with his life, shucking and jiving, not being real with God because they can't be real with themselves. So you're gonna have a lot of people out there straying from the truth of God and his ways. The purpose of God, they're gonna stay from the purpose of God and those that will be faithful to him. One thing about the purpose of God. There are people out there whose focus is to maintain their views on God's purpose for their lives, and they being remaining faithful because that seed of Jesus is in them, and it is that group of people who cannot be done away with. See why everybody else focuses on trying to do this, trying to do that, trying to have this, trying to have that. There is a group of people out there whose focus is number one in paramount to keep themselves fit for when the Lord wants to use them for his purpose and for his business. Now we can deceive ourselves and lock ourselves all we want to. We are not putting ourselves in a place where God can use us or have used us in a long time. Now that's saying something, but yet it's still we want to call on Jesus. Yet it's still we want to say we belong to the Lord. When was the last time you really truly belong to God and had his kingdom in mind? See, one thing I do know, and I know this based on the word. As well as he knows them which are not here. I don't care what society says, I don't care what other people say, everybody don't belong to God. He knows them that remain faithful to his original gospel, as well as he knows them which have come to compromise with his truth. God know, in other words, God knows them that's real, and know them that's that's fake Jacob. Because they compromise with everything. Certain things in their lives they compromise with, and they convince themselves that they still are right. See, there's a spirit, that spirit is called the spirit of justification. When a person tries to justify what they are doing, how they acting, what they saying, trying to convince themselves that they have not done nothing wrong. But they are what the Bible calls, they are those that group of people are those that are deceiving themselves. You can't change the word of God to fit you. You and I have to fit the word of God and come up to its standard. Ain't no compromising with being fit for the master's use. See, those with a desire to be fit for the master's use turn away from wickedness and keep themselves purged. That's the word of God will tell us in a minute. They keep themselves purged from the things which are not of God. What that means? That means they, when they notice something about them that's not godly, they do what they have to do to get that thing purged out of their spirit. Whether it be through fasting, whether it be through prayer, whether it be through consecration, whether it be uh spending time in that word, because the word will transform you. Those things are just going to God and say, Lord, I need you to take this thing away from me. Those that's what you're calling that stuff, purge out of you. In other words, spiritually regurgitation. Because whatever dying in you, it got to spiritually, it's got to come out of you. You and I, in order for us to be fit for the master's use. God can't use us when we still harboring sinful acts, sinful ways, sinful thoughts. God's kingdom is holy. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And those who will want his kingdom, those who will be fit for his use must be holy. I ain't talking about our holiness. I'm talking about what he considers to be holy. See, if we desire to be fit and suitable for the master's use, we must, there's without a doubt, we must depart from all iniquity and sin. Why is this so hard for us to understand? When we see ourselves performing in certain ways, when we excuse me, when we see ourselves acting a certain way, and know we wrong, but still we allow ourselves to be weak to the influences of that spirit, that evil spirit that comes up on us to act certain ways and to do certain things. We got to get purged, we got to get this empurged the Bible. If we gonna be fit for the master, let me lay a foundation in the scripture. Three verses in the second letter that Paul wrote to Timothy, second Timothy chapter two, three verses 19, 20, and 21. Paul says this in his letter to Timothy. Nevertheless, can what's going on? How things is, what's going on in the world. Nevertheless, the foundation of God standing sure. That means it's fixed, it can't be moved. The foundation of God standing sure, that means it's standing, and nothing can move. It's sure, it's fixed there, wherever God done put it. The foundation of God standing sure. Having this feel, then God got a feel on it. We've read this pastor before, but I'm gonna bring something else out of it. Having this feel, the feel on the foundation of God is this, being that his people, his church is this his is his foundation. True worshipers of God, true people of God, that's the foundation of God. And God has put a seal on this group of people who would make up his foundation, his sure foundation. And this is the seal. The Lord knoweth them that are here. Anybody standing in this foundation of the people of God has a seal on them by God, that God knoweth you to be part of his foundation. And you know why he was able to put his seal on this group of people, on them that he knows that are healed? He said, and let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. This is why he was able to put a seal on. Because they was willing, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. They was willing to give up iniquity, they was willing to depart from the iniquities and sins of life for two reasons for God to be a part of God's foundation, for God to put his seal upon them, and number two, so that they will be named with the name of Christ. Did you hear what the Bible says? Let every name it's the name of Christ. Let me break some down. Let me break some down to you. Those who will be fit for the master's use and have come into the knowledge of knowing that they are part of the foundation of God. Now, everybody ain't gonna receive this. Having a seal that sealed God done put on you, he knows them that are healed. When he comes, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. Wow, will his spirit come into the midst of those that will be his foundation? He already sees his seal on. That's mine, that man, she mine, he mine. I know him, I know her. They got my seal on, but here's here's another thing when he looked at deep in this one verse. When we carry the seal, that mark of being God, here it is. Here it is the wisdom of the Holy Ghost. Now, in the eyes of God, your name, as I said, everybody ain't gonna receive this. Your name now becomes the name of Christ. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. What I'm saying is the way God sees his son, whose name is Christ Jesus. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Those also who are the foundation and make up the foundation of God with his seal on him, because I know them, just like he knows his son, he now knows you and sees you covered in the name of Christ, which is why Paul can write, everyone that name is the name of the Lord. See, now because we in God, now because we have been saved through Christ, a part of our name now is Christ. Hallelujah. See, everybody's gonna see that up there. Hallelujah! Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! But say, Hallelujah! But see, if you know the word of God, you will know that the Bible tells us that Christ has become the first fruit of many brethren. We become many brethren and many sisters because we take on the name of Christ because he was the first one. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Because we made a decision to depart from iniquity. See, we're gonna be fit for the Matthew. We got to come out of all this sin, come out of all this iniquity, cut that foolishness out. Paul goes on to tell right there to Timothy. He said, But in a great house, a big house, there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and earth, earth made out of clay. Some to honor, some to dishonor. But here would our text coming from this morning in verse 21. That's the 21st verse.

If a man purge himself from me, you gotta get that stuff out of me. If you see the state you in, you see you ain't part of his foundation, you see that you have not departed from iniquity, you see that you don't have the seal of God on you. You know that God don't know that you heal. But if a man, therefore, purge himself from these. These what? These these devils, these sins, these iniquities, these worldliness, these ungodliness, these wicked ways. Pride yourself from these. He's how good God is and patient is, he wouldn't let you get that stuff out of you. Why, Lord, you do that? So that he shall be a vessel of honor. God wants you to be saved. Since you become a vessel of honor. Listen what it says, sanctify. Here it is, here I message this, and meet, meaning suitable or fit, and meet for the master's use. Now God can use you because you don't got purge and prepare unto every good word. Not God can put you to good work in the ministry, God can put you to good use for his kingdom. Because now you don't become fit for the master's use. Because you got that world and stuff and that junk out of you. When was the last time God used enables? God ain't used, let's tell the truth, let's just tell the truth. We know that God ain't used us, Lord knows, yield. When the last time you spoke to him, when the last time God showed you a manifestation of his spirit, when the last time you heard the voice of the Holy Ghost, when was the last time you felt the anointing? I mean the true anointing. I ain't talking about them emotions. I just tired of church for a second because we get our work to more emotions. The anointing of God is not an emotion, the spirit of God is not an emotion. Hallelujah. I'm not trying to offend nobody this morning. I'm gonna get into you I'm just getting to you wrong. I'm just getting to you wrong this morning. Jumping, bucking, and shouting. Emotion. And after just you're cussing and fussing. You're lying and victim. See, in the word of God, if we go back to verse twenty one, the word of God refers to the word. Meat, M-E-E-T. Meat. M-E-E-T. It's spelled like our word, but in the Hebrew and Greek, the definition is different, which means sufficient. When it said meet for the master's use, sufficient for the master use. It also means fit for the master use. It can also mean qualified for the master use. It can also mean proper for the mass use. It can also mean equipped for the mass use. When the last time our lives were lived in such a way that we were in a place of sufficiency for the Lord to use us, qualified for the law to use us, use us. Fighting on the job. You think the Lord finna use you? Calling somebody up on the phone, telling them all. You think you think that's fit for the master's use? Mistreating your children. You think you equipped for the master's use? Lying and deceiving. Being tricksy, deceiving folk. You think you fit for the master's use? See, over the years, see, many of us may have wondered why it may seem or appear that the Lord is not using us spiritually. I tell you the truth. I tell you the truth. You know, I don't tell the truth. The truth is this, he is not using you for anything that pertains to his kingdom. Because he ain't got time for fooliness, and he ain't got God is not in the business of letting the devil in his business or in the business of his kingdom. Whether that devil is working through you or somebody else. Did the book just tell us God doesn't he know them that are healed? Well, if he knows them that are healed, you know them that are not healed. And them that are not healed are not going to be assigned to the business of his kingdom or the ministry. I tell you, Drew, he ain't gonna use you for nothing that pertains to his kingdom until you get yourself straight, till you purge that stuff out of you, till you depart from iniquity and purge ourselves from the things of his world. That's not godly. God will not use us for the business of his kingdom when we have hired ourselves out to do the business in the devil's kingdom. All day long you live devilish. When ain't nobody around, you live in devilish. At home among your family, you act in devilish. On your job, you act in devilish. And you think God's gonna use you for his kingdom when you've been helping the devil's kingdom establish itself? God is not hard up to have vessels of honor in vessels of dishonor in his kingdom. He ain't harder for no vessels of dishonor. And until we make the necessary sacrifices and sanctify ourselves unto him, he will never be fit. We will never be fit for our master's year. Because we ain't making we ain't willing to make the necessary sacrifices. We ain't willing to sanctify ourselves. What I'm talking about sanctify ourselves, we ain't willing to set ourselves apart in this world to not be like the world. We ain't willing to set ourselves apart from the world to be holy. And as long as we're holding on to that frame of mind, we will never be fit for our master's use. One of our main reasons, I got two reasons I'm gonna tell you why we ain't fit for the master's use. I'm gonna deal with this every first. One of our main reasons for not being fit for the master's use is this. The fact that we have become entangled in the things of this world. Some of us so tangled up in sin, so tangled up in wrong, so tangled up in wickedness, so tangled up with the cares of this world. There are many things in this world that once we have become entangled, it requires Christ to make us free. Ain't no way we can get free if Christ doesn't make us free. We can become so entangled that it would appear that the more we struggle, the more we become trapped, spiritually trapped in sin, in iniquity, in the things of this world, and in that state, we cannot become fit for the master. You ain't gonna see God use you because you you first got to get Christ to deliver you and make you free. That's what Paul had to tell the church in Galilee. Remember, he told the church in Galatians in Galatians uh 5 and 1. He said, Stand fast therefore in the liberty. That liberty means freedom. Stand fast, therefore, in the freedom. See, when you get saved, that wasn't just that wasn't only God Christ saving you, there was him also making you free from sin, from iniquity. There was also him detangling you from living a sinful life. Now, our part was to do this stand fast, stay free, avoid being entangled again, stand fast, therefore, in the freedom or the liberty where Christ had made us free. Let me tell y'all something. There is a freedom that can only come through Christ. See what we're trying to do, all other things to set our minds free, set our hearts free, set our lives free, set our stress level free, set our worry level free, set our marriage level free, and not being successful because there are on their certain freedoms, hallelujah, hallelujah, that can only be provided through Christ. And through Christ is the only place you can have them. The book is telling us to stand fast in, therefore, in the liberty where Christ has made us free. And he's saying nothing about the world making you free. Now that was Christ's part. He made us free. Here our party. And be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Sin is a bondage. If you don't want, some of us have been under bondage so long. Let me tell you something about funny. Some of us have been under bondage so long we have grown used to it. Now, sometimes I think that's not possible. You can be in something so long, you will become used to it. And you won't even have the sensitivity to even know that your life is so tangled up, you you you don't want you don't even associate your misery with the entanglement of sin, with the entanglement of the bondage. You can't put the two together and know that's the reason why. You don't been in the bondage so long. And the sad thing about that situation is you don't even know to go to Christ for Him to make you free, to get out of it. So you make no effort even to come to Jesus, to fall down at his feet, to cry out to him, to set you free from this bondage that has tormented your life for decade after decade. Because when you got saved, you messed up and you flirted with sin, you flirted with what he saved you from, you flirted with and played on the edge with what he brought you out of, and you messed around and slipped and got all entangled again and have been made free. This is one of the reasons why we can't be fit from Matthew. Because we're too entangled with sin. See, be it known unto us all, all of us need to know this here. We are spiritually obligated through Christ. Give me now. All of us, we are spiritually obligated through Christ to stand fast in the liberty and freedom wherewith he has made us free. We obligated to him. Because if we don't pay attention, that means we make it look like Jesus did all he did for nothing when we don't keep what he did for us in our lives. We are not for any reason to allow ourselves to be entangled again in the bondage of sin and shame. Did you hear me? We are not fit for the master's use if we are in a state of abundance and sin. How you gonna fit to be used when your life is in bundle? You can't help yourself. How you gonna help somebody else? How you gonna even be a beneficial to the kingdom of God when your life is not just upside down, but it's backwards and up against the wall. See, well, you know what? I don't like to assume nothing. Let me just say this. Maybe we are a person who don't want to be fit for the message. Maybe you don't want to be sick for the message. Maybe we are a person who don't want to have to put forth the effort into what is required for us to be free from the bondage of sin. Maybe we don't want to put forth an effort, maybe we ain't got time. The work of we don't want to put forth the effort of striving to be fit for the mass use. We think it's too hard, and we have grown lazy and slow when it comes to our own soul. Don't you don't think it ain't don't think we got a part to play in here? Oh, Jesus undone it all. We better stop being a fool. Jesus done it all what was required of him to do, but we are responsible for what we are required to do on our part for our own soul. See when I see supposedly people of God portraying this type of behavior, it causes me to think on another reason why some of us are not fit for the master youth. Hallelujah, and this reason is this we have become God's enemy. One of the other reasons why, when I see this behavior, folks, it makes me see this other reason for why we're not fit for the mass use because we have allowed ourselves in such subtle ways to become an enemy against God. See, I don't know what we are thinking when we just sit up and let the devil use us in ungodly ways, and yet we think we belong to God. See, one thing I know about the word of God, it tells us that we can even deceive ourselves. See, a lot of stuff you ain't gotta worry about somebody else deceiving you. We have set up and deceived ourselves in a lot of areas when it comes to our souls and when it comes to us thinking that we are fit for the messenger. See, Paul told the church in Rome this. He had to tell the church in Rome then, in Romans at 8 chapter. He said, For they, whoever they is, for they that are after the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh. You know what he's saying? Those of us in this world, all our mind is on what we can gain out of this world, that's why I heard you. Because that's why our mind is. You after the stuff in this world, if you after this and you after that, trying to get this and trying, because you have it. When Lord spoke to John in the book of first John, and he said, All that's in the world is this. What he says, three things, just three things, and all the sins of the world you can put in one of these three categories. I think the first one was the lust of the eye, the pride of life, and it's a third one. What is that third one? The lust of the eye. All that's in the world, lust of the eye.

First John, seventh chapter. For all that is in the world. All the sins in the world, you can put in one of these three categories. The lust of the flesh, there it is. That's the one I couldn't think of. I don't know why I can think of that. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. This is what he said. If not of the father, well, what word? Who is it of? It's not of the father, but is of the world. Okay. Now that's raw word. Now you got Paul saying, for they that are after the flesh, ain't one of the things on the list, the lust of the flesh? Well, that one on the list. Yeah. Do mind the things of the flesh. But they that are after the spirit, now they who are trying to walk in the spirit, they that are trying to live according to the spirit. And if you in your Bibles read Romans 8, you'll see that that word spirit got the capital in. That means you mind the things of the Spirit of God, if you mind the things of the Holy Ghost, but they that are after, see instead of being after the flesh, running behind the things, running after the flesh, you running after the things of the spirit of God. But they that are after the spirit, the things of the spirit. Okay, keep talking, Paul. For to be carnally minded is death. Do y'all know we're killing ourselves? Running behind this worldly corner stuff. We dying in one way, naturally, well, naturally, but mentally. Let me say a mental death, because we strain in our minds and straining our hearts to death, which is gonna lead us to all the other death, the first death, the natural death, and the spiritual death. Killing ourselves, running after the things of the flesh. But this is what Paul said. But to be spiritually minded, minding the things of God, putting your mind what it's supposed to be on, is life and peace. Well, we just come out of that series. A peace of peace. This is why we ain't got no peace. Because we are not minding spiritual things. Spiritual minding is life and peace. Because it gives you peace of mind. Now, here's what I want us to understand right here. And I told us that second thing, reason why a lot of us ain't fit for the mass of you. We have become an enemy against God. Verse 7 says, Because the carnal mind is enmity. That means enemy against God. I know you, y'all listen. Y'all gonna be talking on your breath, talking on your throat. I ain't no gods in. I'm finna show you here. Just give me a few minutes. Let me read. Can I read the book first? Let me read the Bible. Then I'm gonna tell you why you I'm gonna show you your enemy against God. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God. For it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Come on, finish Paul. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Let me just sideboard him a minute before I show you where you're in the God. I'm gonna show you. Well, let me sideboard him for a minute and give you something that the Holy Ghost told me two weeks ago. Because I was hearing somebody must have been on. That TV somewhere. Well, people were enthusiastic and hopeful and excited about achieving Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I'm finna tell you something with the Holy Ghost told me. They were excited about achieving this one thing in life. They call it the American dream. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And the Holy Ghost spoke, Hallelujah, spoke to my spirit. People are killing themselves trying to have this pipe dream. This temporary dream. What this country and other nations call the American dream. And that's exactly what is a dream. To be successful in the eyes of the world, to be successful in the eyes of others. But the Holy Ghost said they are putting all their effort into trying to accomplish the American dream, but none of their efforts in trying to achieve the heavenly hope. Hallelujah.

Hallelujah. The hope of one day being in the kingdom of God. They ain't studying that. They want the American dream, which is temporary, which is going to pass away, which you can't take with you. I really don't really know what kind of dream that is. What is an American dream? When we struggle, when we doing this and going through that and going through that. But what the Holy Ghost has told me is we should be putting our elphes in the heavenly hope. Something that we can obtain, something that is eternal, something that can never pass away, which is more valuable than any American dream or any country's dream. It's the hope that one day, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, that we can leave here, and there is a heavenly kingdom. Put your weight up. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You keep trying to keep and trying to have and kill yourself. Going after the flesh, going after the American dream, going after the world of success. But my Bible tells you, though, just like this is also though. If you ain't first rich toward God, you ain't got nothing. Let me tell you about yourself that you're an enemy. There is no way in which we can become useful to God. If we insist on being his enemy by the way we live our lives before him. See, many may think that they are not God's enemy because they don't speak against his name. Uh-uh. I ain't no God's enemy. I don't speak against his name. I don't play with God. Or because they don't blaspheme against his word. They may think because they don't curse, or because they don't mistreat others, that this somehow exempts them from being an enemy against God. I treat people right. I talk to people right. But there, what we felt with the enemy, the deceiver, got so many lessons to see this, is that there are many ways of being an enemy against God. And the devil know them all. That's why he's so able to influence us with ways we didn't think we were God's enemy. See, just by simply not living as we ought to live before him is being an enemy against God. Just by you living wrong, you going against his word, that's an enemy. Because we are not obeying his word. See, that's an enemy. What I'm talking about, when you know what that book said and you ain't doing it, that makes you an enemy against the truth. And an enemy against the truth is an enemy against God. See, as his word says, minding the things of the flesh and not the things of the spirit is being an enemy of God. Now you see yourself as an enemy, and the devil has you thinking you wasn't the enemy. See, just simply taking, like the world thinks, is an enemy against God. And in living in this state of being, in this state of being, in our minds, it sets us in a place of never, and hear me when I say never, being fit for our master's use. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And I leave you with the words of Jeremiah, my brother. Jeremiah the prophet. I leave you with this. When he told the people, hallelujah. And he just moved and he said, Oh, and he put emphasis on it because he said it three times. He says, Oh, earth. Talk about the people of the earth. Oh earth. Then he said, Earth. Then he said again, earth.
