Dude, throughout our church lives, we've all grown up knowing the story of Jesus and uh how when he began his ministry after he came down out of the mountain for being tempted 40 days and 40 nights of the devil, you remember he came down and he started choosing his 12 disciples. We've we've heard the story about the 12 disciples, the 12 he chose, and all of that. But this morning I want to, the Holy Ghost, I was laying down resting the Holy Ghost gave me this message. And I had that, and I told him, okay, I'm getting up. I'm getting up, I'm gonna get to it. He wanted me to get in the word and get on top of this. There's a side of the lives of a particular disciple that he wants me to bring out. We've all we all know the story of Judas and who he was. He was one of the 12. Jesus himself handpicked him. And we, well, I say we are talking about the church world, everybody grew up in church, and we all put this label up on Judas, which is true, he betrayed Jesus. That is a fact, he did. But what I don't ever remember hearing a message on there was another spirit upon Judas long before he betrayed Jesus. And that is where the Holy Ghost opened my eyes to bring this message this morning earlier in the week, this past week. And I got up and got to digging, and I I am very, before I realized it, just that sitting down that one day of my studies, I know I must have typed up six pages of what the Holy Ghost was talking to me about just on that one day. So y'all know when it's that long. It's probably gonna be another part to it because I can't rush this. Anyway, this morning we're talking about the spirit of Judas. Now, let me let me let me clarify some stuff. Because some of us may not know this. There were two disciples and the twelve who had the name Judas. But they, how can I say, they will, they when the Bible talks about either one of them, it makes sure when they're talking about Judas, the one who betrayed Jesus, he used his last name as well, Judas Iscariot. Judas Iscariot. The other Judas just called him Juice. But most of us are familiar with the story and life of Judas Iscariot, one of the disciples of whom Jesus chose to follow him. I'm gonna tell you why Jesus did that a little bit. We know of this person in the Bible of how he betrayed Jesus and the other disciples. Now, this was a terrible act on the behalf of Judas. But this morning I want to talk to you of the terrible behavior of Judas before he betrayed Jesus and turned against his disciple family. There was a spirit in Judas, and you and I must be watchful and proudful that this spirit of Judas does not enter into us. Now, Judas is dead, he hung himself, and he messed around and hung himself on a weak branch, because when he hung himself and the branch broke, the Bible said when he his body hit the ground, his bowels gushed out of him. He hit the ground hard.
SPEAKER_00Now he dead.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonBut that spirit, because of who that spirit came from, that spirit is very much alive. And like all spirits, and y'all can remember me telling y'all about the sub spirit. Once they leave one body, they just they don't die with the body. They just go and see who else they can you can get in. A new home, if you would. Because they'll just the dwelling this realm, they got to be in a body. Because Earth realm is a world where you have to have a body. And I don't have time to go into all that, but know that's what happened. That's why spirits don't never die. Once they done use you up, they just jump off and get in somebody else. And the spirit of Judas, which that spirit came from the devil, is also still trying to get in as many people as it can. Not only to betray, see, the spirit of Judas still trying to betray Jesus today. Too many people are talking against Jesus today. Too many people are denying him, saying he ain't real, trying to turn you against Jesus. That's Judas. But before Judas betrayed Jesus, let me tell you something. Before Judas betrayed our Lord, our Lord Jesus, our precious Lord Jesus, and turned against his disciples' family. I'm trying to bring this home to us today. This was a you can let the devil in the house and he'll affect the whole family. But the other disciples, they scattered and ran. But Judas affected the whole house. This is the spirit he had first before he got the spirit of betrayal. He has the weakness. Listen at this, because this is what some of us at. He has the weakness of listening and allowing the devil to talk to his mind. Now I want that to soak in. He didn't just get up and go to betraying Jesus. We don't just get up and go to backslid and just doing evil stuff. It starts off listening and letting the devil talk to you in your ear about mess, about junk, making you believe stuff that ain't true. And when you get to the listener long enough and hard enough, that listening will cause you to put certain things in action that you probably gonna wish you had not done. Because Judas regretted what he had done when he realized what he had done. That's why he wouldn't hunt himself. And this morning, we're gonna talk about this other spirit first before we get to the spirit of betrayal. That spirit, when we sit up and allow ourselves to be weak. Hear me? Weak in listening and allowing the devil to talk to our minds. This is the spirit of Judas I want to talk about this morning. Because I'm gonna show you a lot of places where he just kept listening to the devil, just kept listening to the devil until it caused him to turn against Jesus. Now, how many of us have turned against Jesus this morning? And some of the things we've been doing. Oh, the spirit of betrayal is still alive. We got the spirit of Judah's still alive because that spirit in Judas came from the devil.
SPEAKER_00We'll say it again, because I want to hit this.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonBefore Judas betrayed the Lord Jesus, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and turned against his disciples' family. Young people in your family look like they don't turn against the family? Watch them. I ain't say do them wrong. I said watch them. I mean, but love them, but you better watch them. See the spirits for what the spirits is. He had this weakness, and some of us allow this same weakness to affect us today. The weakness of listening and setting up the line, that devil. Don't y'all what did that book say? John, St. John 8. He's the father of lies. Ain't no truth in it. He can't even tell the truth. The Bible said when he even speaks, he's speaking a lie. You ever know somebody that just lies for no reason? See, the devil lies for no reason because he can't do nothing but lie. And when you see that spirit on somebody else, that's just the spirit of the devil. They can't hear buttons like you say, I know they just sit up and just lie and then have to tell that lie. Because they've allowed themselves to listen to the devil talking in ear for too long, that he has a lot, he has brought an influence on their mind. And when you let the devil get in your mind, you have gotten to a place where you're in trouble. Judas was in trouble and couldn't even help himself. You sit up and listen to that junk in your ear too long. He will convince you that what he is telling you is the truth. And what Jesus and what you've been reading in the Word is a lie or is a fable, or he'll tell you God didn't really mean that. There's a weakness. See, we said we're supposed to resist. Even with the Holy Ghost, we can rebuke it. Get out of my ear. I know that ain't right. You ain't gonna make me start thinking like that. That's when it starts making you thinking wrong towards other people, not only Jesus. The devil makes you think bad about the people that you love. Or they love you. And know that folks ain't done you nothing. But he'll make you think it.
SPEAKER_00And he gets you to be thinking it, he'll get you eventually make you believe it.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonHe allowed the devil to set up strongholds so subtly that in the beginning, I don't think that Judas even was aware of what the devil was doing. The devil is smooth now. Come on now, y'all. He's a smooth operator and a smooth talker. If you ain't up on his game, he's smooth. And it'll be a while before you come to yourself and realize, wait a minute, I just missed something and listen to the devil. That's been the devil all this time. Because he was so smooth and sober. He's a sweet talker when he's trying to get you to sin. When he's trying to convince you, especially to go against the kingdom of God. But we got to be up on this game and say, get be behind me saying you know what I'm saying, what Jesus said. Listen. You can't let the devil sit up strong. See, each time you listen to him, that's another piece that he's building in your head to finish that stronghold. And a stronghold is like, in the biblical times, it's like a fortress.
SPEAKER_00And I'm telling you what that fortress did.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonHe allowed the devil to get in his head from there, the damage of turning his mind against the ministry of Christ began to grow within him. Because he allowed and listening to the devil, strongholds are being built. And this is what the devil wants to put a stronghold in your mind. Because a stronghold, a fortress around your mind, your train of thought, your thinking, your mental capacity. Once a stronghold, a spiritual stronghold has been set up in your mind, what it is designed to do is to keep everything in that the devil is telling you. But it's also designed to not let anything out. See, once the devil gets in, he wants to get out. But it's also designed to keep everything, keep something else from getting in. Which means if Jesus is trying to get in your life, that stronghold he utilized the build, it's going to be a resistance against the truth, against Jesus, against the word, against God, anything that's godly, because you don't allow himself a stronghold. And the drawbridge is up. Can't nobody come in if you somebody drop the drawbridge. But also, can't nobody get out. The devil don't want to get out. And him not getting out, he won't let you out to be free in your mind. See, right now, some of our minds ain't free. And we can't get the help we need because that stronghold is keeping Jesus from getting in. That's why, if you read Corinthians, that's why the Bible says the pulling down a stronghold. See, when you allow strongholds to get in your mind, now you got to get a weapon that's got to come from God. I'm gonna say like the Bible said the Bible said, mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds. See, strongholds got to be pulled down. Strongholds in your life got to be pulled down in order for God to bless you in your mind. And start letting some of his stuff, his words get in your mind to filter out that junk that the devil done been putting in your mind.
SPEAKER_00But see, Judas didn't have this. He just kept listening. He just kept listening.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonAnd what's what's grieving me is I believe why the Holy Ghost has led me to bring this message more because I see spiritually from my spiritual eyesight. I see the same spirit which seduced Judas, attempting to seduce the children of God of this generation in similar ways. See, when you look at him let the devil talk in your ears like Judas, you allow him to seduce you, to tempt you, to draw you.
SPEAKER_00And if there's any seducing going on, you don't need to be seduced by the devil.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonAnd we who consider ourselves close to Christ must now listen to us. Because ain't nobody out the woods yet. All us under attack. I'll tell somebody on day. Do y'all not know you don't want those who really try to live this life, y'all know what I'm talking about. This is a fight every day. This is not no every other day, every other weekend. It's a fight every day. When you really live for the Lord, the devil is there. There's some type of fight every day. Now, some fights gonna be more intense than others, but there's something every day when you live before the Lord. Because the spirits, the evil spirits don't let up. But we who consider ourselves to be close to Christ must now, right now, in this generation we live in, be mindful and very mindful that we are not about to betray our Lord. Some of the stuff we do and that's betrayal. Whether we're doing it directly or even indirectly, through how we treat our families and loved ones in the body of Christ.
SPEAKER_00You remember what Jesus said in you remember what Jesus said in the word in the gospel?
Pastor Rickey D. DixonHe said, if you've done it, if you do it to the least of these, my brother, he said, You done done it to me.
SPEAKER_00See, we don't think nothing about when we do stuff to certain people. We say we love.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonLike we will treat him if he was standing right here. Because he is putting himself in the place of the people that we deal with each and every day. If you know it to the least of these, my brothers, he said, you done done it to me. Now, what are you gonna tell Jesus when he tells you all that stuff you did, you done it to me? It was just like you were doing it to me. Say no need to buckle your eyes and your eyes get bigger sauce when he tells you there, because there is a connection that Jesus has with his people. That he takes it personal. And you might say, well, mama understand, wife understand, husband understand. Them children, they know I didn't mean that, but you did it to Jesus.
SPEAKER_00Judas thought he was doing something. Going up there getting 30 pieces of silver, he thought he was doing something. But just as ignorant don't realize what he was doing, he was he became the devil's pun, the devil's patsy.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonAnd see, the devil kicked him in the blind and kicked him in the dark till he got through with it. And when he got through with him and allowed Judas out to come over, Judas wanted to throw the money away and wanted to go hang himself. He didn't want the money no more. We realized what he what that money cost blood money. And some of us Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_00When it can come to other people, it has cost us a certain price that we wish we hadn't bargained with.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonThe love we once had back from certain people. Oh, we love you. But now they don't love you like they used to because the damage you have done, the damage Judas did.
SPEAKER_00Some of us can't reach some of our church or not. Some of the things we did to them. But we need to repent and ask for their forgiveness and try to restore some of that back that we've lost.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonNot gonna be able to remove the scar. But you might be able to help it heal a lot better. Once we realize we have been wrong. He did realize it, but it was too late to change anything. The curse was on. You know why such a great Christian on Judas? Because he's betraying the one person you don't want to betray. And turning it, that was Jesus. God couldn't let that go. That was his only begotten son. Now, just like you see, he didn't let what Judah did go. You think he's gonna let what you and I do, he's gonna let it go? Well, I ain't done nothing to Jesus. I just done told you. Jesus said if you've done it to the least of these, he done did it to me. And if Jesus considered it being done to him, his father's gonna consider that you've done done it to him.
SPEAKER_00We need to wake up here.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonThe word of God is trying to warn us to stop doing these things. You remember when when Paul told the church in Ephesus? He said, Neither give place to the devil. You can't give the devil no place nowhere. Not just in your mind. You can't let him get in your heart, you can't let him get in your business, don't let him in your marriage, don't let him in your family, don't let him do nothing to you or cause you to be a certain way around each of your co-workers. Stay safe. Don't give him no place. Don't let the devil ride. You let him ride now. He ain't gonna just want to ride, he's gonna want to drive.
SPEAKER_00And he's gonna drive you straight to hell. We brothers and sisters, I love y'all.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonWe must not at any state of our lives. I know we're all going through stuff.
SPEAKER_00The pressure's on, the heat is on.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonWe deter. We've been fighting in a fight every day, fighting the fight of faith, but you got to hold on. Stop trusting your strength and trust in the strength of God to get you through this. We must not at any time, any statement what our lives going through, give the devil any place in our minds. See, God rules in the heart.
SPEAKER_00But the devil likes to take over the mind. We will find him doing the most talking in our ears.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonListen at this. This is when you're gonna find this. I'm trying to give you a heads up that you know when the devil is doing the most talking. You're gonna find him doing the most talking in your ears during our times of suffering. When you're going through stuff, that's when the devil won't talk anymore. Because he thinks, because you're going through something hard, it doesn't got your mind off Jesus. It got you kind of distracted. Because you're focusing on how I'm gonna pay this, how I'm gonna do this. And he got you, he got you in a he finds you uh in a semi-distracted state. Because you focus on some of your suffering and stuff you're going through. That's when you're gonna find through the most talking. When you go into a suffering, trials, when you're going through a rough or hard period in your life, when when certain seasons in our lives begin to bring change that we don't like or that we don't want. We ain't really a change. And it makes us uncomfortable, and that's when the devil sent opportunity. Oh, they mind ain't on Jesus. Because they don't realize that whatever state they in, like Paul said, I've learned to be content. But since their mind is focused there, I can come in and talk on the ear. You ain't got to go through this. They don't understand, and we sit up and listen to that gobbledygook. When certain seasons in our lives begin to bring some changes, it unsettles us. We don't like it. Listen, this is when we should give the most earnest heed to what we are hearing coming from the Lord, and be sure that who we are hearing, listen to me. Make sure this that who we are hearing and listening to, make sure it's God. And not he who tries to sound like God.
SPEAKER_00They'll know the difference. They'll know the voice of God.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonI remember one time in the gospel, you ever read in the book of Mark, Jesus was talking to the people. He said, Take heed what you hear. He said, Take heed what you hear. See, our ears just ain't programmed to just hear certain people. Anybody can talk in your ear, but you have a choice of what you're gonna receive or let in. Whole lot of stuff right here, I don't believe that. I ain't buying that. You're gonna tell that somebody else. See, I reject a whole lot of stuff. Especially with no line up with the word. I say, I ain't got the hook up. See, back then, old police that go in one ear, go after the other. So that's how I do the devil. You nothing talking on him, but it's going right out the other, the whole other side. I ain't receiving it. And then when I put that with what the gospel said, what Jesus said, he said, take heed, that means be careful. Take heed what you hear. You know why Jesus said? Because everything you hear ain't coming from me. Yeah, Pastor Ember, that's my that's my age boom. No, that's what they said. What they said that that's my BFF. I don't care. Best friends can lie. Well, that's Big Mama. Big Mama can lie. The devil can speak to anybody. I need us to be aware and be cautious.
SPEAKER_00The Bible said be watchful and sober. I ain't got time to go into it.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonBut there's a story in the Old Testament about a young minister listening to an older minister. And he thought because he was an older minister, then he could listen, but God had already told him, Don't go. I don't want you to go back. When I send you down here, don't go, don't leave out the way you came in. Don't talk to nobody, don't go in nobody's house, go let's see what I tell you, and the way you came, go out another way. Well, he don't let an old no-good preacher now come on in hand and sit house with him and this and that. They might not tell you nothing. And the folks, when he finally left there, long story short, yes, it's an old testament. A lion came up and attacked him and killed him. Now he ride a donkey, but the lion ain't him and left the donkey alive. Read it, it's in there. You got to be careful who you listen to. Make sure if you're gonna let anybody hear what the look says the Lord, and I don't care if you're it's your favorite, ain't he? And God done told you something, ain't he? I love you. But I gotta do what the Lord said. Husband and wife. Yes, God got you one. But when God done told you something or revealed something to you, please obey God. Take heed what you hear. Paul told the church that he when he wrote Hebrews, this is what he said. I like this. This is where the government put it with with this, with what Jesus just said. I'm gonna put what Paul said with this. He Paul says this in the Hebrews 2 and 1. Therefore, we ought, this is what you ought to do. Which we hard-headed, we ain't gonna always do what we ought. But he said, therefore, we ought to give the most earnest heed. This is what you ought to be listening to the most. The most earnest heed to the things which we have heard. They're talking about the godly things you don't hear. That's what you need to be giving most your your attention to, the most earnest heed to the things which you have heard. Why, Paul, lest at any time we should let them slip, see, when you keep on letting the devil talk in you like Judas, you run a chance of letting slip the good stuff that the Lord done put in you. And you need to hold on to what you already done heard and just keep adding more to it. But when we up under the spirit of Judas, of listening, the weakness of listening, and allowing the devil to talk in our ears, we run the risk and we run the chance of letting slip what the Lord done told us. Judas allowed the enemy to get in his head. How many of us have allowed somebody to get in your head? Here have somebody just get in, trying to get in your head. They might not have got in, but you know that's what they were trying to get in your head.
SPEAKER_00And let me tell you what that is.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonI might as well go and tell you. That's a form of witchcraft. When somebody is trying to intimidate you or manipulate you to think like they want you to think, that is a form of spiritual witchcraft. Because they're trying to change your way of thinking to receive what they are telling you. And make sure that you don't receive what nobody else is telling you, which means that's what they want total control over your mind. I can't stand a manipulator. I can't stand people to try to intimidate other people because I know that's spiritual witchcraft. And the devil got witches and warlocks that done told some of the people in the church minds up because of the influence that that spirit has had on them. Judas allowed the enemy to get in his head about daily things. Let me tell you something. You remember I told y'all? New levels mean new devils. Now, if you don't ever go to a new level and stay on the same level, same level, you keep the same devil. But you're gonna have some devils. Oh, Pastor Jim, what are you talking about? We don't you don't tell people they got devils in their life? I'm gonna show you in the book. You're gonna always have a devil or a demon trying to turn your life upside down. Do we think we better than Jesus? I'm gonna tell, I'm gonna read something in a few minutes. I'm gonna tell you what Jesus said. He's gonna tell them something, I chose y'all twelve. Ain't one of y'all a devil? He had a devil back in his life. So we are the devil than Jesus. I'll get to it in a minute. I'm sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself. He allowed Judah, allowed to enemy to get ahead of daily stuff. What we gonna eat? What bill do? This is the first of the month. Oh Lord, them fresh, fresh meals coming. Like money. How we gonna pay this? We could have done this with the money. This Judas now, this Judas, but it might be you. You don't need that. That's what you tell one another. We could have done what I wanted to do as something else. Isn't them phrases like that? That's Judas. I'm gonna show you Judas and say the same thing here. I'm gonna get to you. I'm gonna say, let me tell you a story. Let me pause and give you a story right quick. Let me give you a story right quick. This is in the Bible. This is not no made-up story. This is the story in the Bible. But I'm gonna tell you like a story because I know y'all don't read the Bible like y'all to. But if you around me, I'll get you in that book. This was right after Lazarus had been raised from the dead. Y'all know the story of Lazarus. Jesus raised him from the dead. And you know how greedy Mary and Martha was. That was their brother. Only brother. He was the only born in Seminole. Them him and them two girls. He died, got sick and died. But anyway, long story short, this this story here in the Bible is right up in a little while after Judas had been raised from dead and got themselves situated. And we Lazarus back now. So Jesus and the Sabbath, one thing you also read in the Bible that Jesus considered Lazarus and his family true friends of his. And he will often in his journeys walking back and forth to Jerusalem and Bethany, he will stop by and hang out with Lazarus and Mary Martha, him and the Sabbath. They were close. Anyway, this is a time right after Lazarus was raised from dead.
SPEAKER_00They decided to have a little get together. Martha gonna cook a nice supper for everybody. And you're gonna see what I'm gonna read to you.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonMartha seen up sits on the nine supper feet, everybody. Mary's gonna wash his feet with her hair. They're gonna have Lazarus sitting there testifying about how the Lord raised from the dead, and everything gonna be going good. But then you're gonna hear the devil and Judas rise up.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna read it to you. Let me read it to you. I ain't gonna start at the beginning because you have to read that.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonWhen you ever get time, read that 12th chapter of St. John. That's where you'll find it. So I ain't gonna read the whole thing. I'm just reading the point I'm trying to make. He says, There they made him a supper. Lazarus bag, Jesus and him. We're gonna make them a supper. And Martha served. Martha liked to be in the kitchen. She liked she liked ghost, so she liked hosting. But Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. Man had been dead four days, but now he's in the cafe and eat, a dead man at the cave and eat. Well, he was dead. Then took Mary, that's the other sister. She took a pound, about say a pound of ornament. Oh, back then, this ornament they called spite nard. Very expensive. Very expensive. The Bible said very costly. And she took a pound of it and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. That that that perfume was smelling so good. The Bible said the house was filled with the odor of that or me. It smelled so good around that whole house. When you know you got hold, everybody else bought some good stuff, it has it, it you don't take much of it. Spike Marble's that's this was some very expensive perfume. I don't know what the most expensive perfume they got today is Chanel or something. Women wear. In biblical time, this was some expensive stuff. Rich people can buy this. It was made from a plant you found growing in the Himalayas.
SPEAKER_00Very expensive.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonThen the Bible said, then said, see, we're having such a good time. Blasphemous here, he back from their Jesus. Mother, she knows how to cook, she ended up cooking a good meal. Mary done got the house smelling good. Why, why, why wife and anoint Jesus foot? But then the Bible said, then the devil. You ever had things going so good in the house, but the devil will arise up and somebody in there? The Bible says, then says one of his disciples, Judas, it's scary. That's the one, that's the devil. Simon's son, not Simon the disciple, but Judah's devil was named Simon too. Anyway, which should betray him. Here come Judah. And then the word of God and expose him for who he is. This is what he said. Why was not this Arnt meant show for 300 people? We could have got 300 for this. And given to the Pope. Of all things, foot. We could have got 300 for this here. I ain't through. Then he said, the Bible said, this he said. Not that he cared for the poor. Listen that he ain't cared about no poor. But see, when the devil is trying to seduce and manipulate, he'll lie. I mean, you think his intention is one thing, but his intention is a whole nother other thing. This he said, not that he cared for the poor. This is what the Bible said. But because he was a thief, listen at that. Thief. And had the bag. Now, when you read that, what that means is Jesus and the disciples, they travel all over the land. And they had to keep certain money to be able to buy food and buy as they go. But I don't know how it came down to it, but they allowed Judas to carry the money bag, the wallet, or where they were. I wouldn't have had him told the money. But he had the bag. This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief and had the bag, the money bag, and bath what was put there in. That means he was the one who would see what was put in it. And he wanted that 300 to be put in the bag so he could be painted off of it. Because he had things about saying a thing, you know he's gonna, he had got that 300, you know he's gonna be skimming off top, doing something dishonest. He was a thief because he had that spirit of Judas on him. Can't be you can't trust nobody like that. But the Bible exposed him. Now here's this the spirit of Judas brings with it a deceptive characteristic. Can't trust. You ever been around some selfish people? They always want you to do for them. Well, they don't ever bring up and say, Well, let me do something for you this time. Selfishness is a spirit from the devil. Selfish people want what they want and don't care about what you get. They only want what they, and when they really want something, they'll try to manipulate and intimidate you into giving them or satisfying them and what they need to be satisfied in. Judas wanted that money in that bag. He wanted that 300. Because he saw that tune. As a thief, I can paint y'all this for a long time. When it wasn't even here, it was to be shared among all of them when we need to go buy food. When Jesus said, Go buy food in the town, in the marketplace. Go get us something that we're gonna need. Oh here in the Galilee, we're gonna need something. Go take care of that. Oh not Judah. Come on, look, look, let me go back. Let me go back and dissect this thing here. Look at how beautiful. Oh, they time everyone is hatching. They were all gathered together as family and friends. Lazarus has been raised from the dead. Everything good. Martha done prepared a nice up. We're gonna eat good. Mary is anointing the feet of Jesus. We are all here with a lot to be thankful for. And the devil, in the spirit of Judas, is trying to tell somebody what they should have done with something he didn't even pay for.
SPEAKER_00He didn't get Jesus your money to buy that Judah. That wasn't his art meant.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonLet me tell you something about Lazarus and his sister. Lazar and his sister, they had money. If you go read the Bible, Lazarus was a rich man. They had plenty of money. That's why they can afford expensive perfume for his sister if he wanted. That was her. He ain't paying for none of that. You don't have somebody trying to dictate you what you ought to have done with what's your one? Ain't got time to go in there. But look at that, that's how the devil would do. And he'll make you think you've done something wrong with what belonged to you. Lar and his sisters had money, plenty of money. And they were able to buy what they wanted. If Mary wanted to use her nice perfume to bless the Lord. And ain't nothing wrong with you taking what God done bless you with to bless him back or to bless somebody or to do good something good. If Mary wanted to use her nice perfume to bless the Lord, why did he have a problem with it? I tell you why. The book was the book was there, because he was a thief. Sorry, old folks, they said this. And I think there's some truth in it. They said if you lie, you'll steal. And Judah was a liar. And he sure was stealing. And they said, if you lie, you'll steal, and if you steal, you'll kill. I believe that. There ain't no scripture in the Bible. That's what the old folks said, but I believe there's some truth in that. A thief will lie. The devil in them will lie. The Bible called the devil a thief. So both a liar is the spirit of the devil, and a thief is the spirit of the devil. And a killer is the spirit of the devil. Because he was also in his betrayal, he was trying to kill the ministry of Jesus.
SPEAKER_00Because he was a thief.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonNow, how many was done been around thieves? Not so long with your personal belonging, but trying to steal your joy, your happiness. Keep you stressed out all the time. They're a thief. We ain't put on this earth to make somebody else's life miserable.
SPEAKER_00We weren't put on this earth to bring somebody else down or give somebody else the blues.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonWe're not here to stretch nobody else out. That's wrong. But see, that's the thief. There's more ways to steal than you taking money out of my pocket, stealing my mind off my dresser. Going in my wallet, or going to somebody's purpose, or breaking in somebody's house. There's more to thieving than that. There's a spiritual side of thievery. Mary and her family had left the devil in the house. Oh Lord. How many of us are left the devil in the house? Not knowing his true spirit because he was hiding behind the fact that he came with Jesus. And if we let Jesus in and they come with Jesus, everybody welcome. But sometimes you got to watch those people who try to hang around even good people. They ain't hanging around good people because they're trying to be good. They hang around good people because that helps they disguise. That helped them to pull off what they're trying to pull off. If they think I'm like them, because we hang together, I can get them to trust me until I spring my trap. But Jesus was fully aware of who he was. And some of us who got Jesus, we need to be full aware when we see the devil. Raise up his ugly horn head. What a lot of us fail to realize is that we have been living with the devil for a while. Some of us, the devil, have been in our house a long time.
SPEAKER_00He ain't been in you, but the spirit spirit has been in your house. And some of us done let the devil in our homes.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonAnd we opened the door, let them in. And now they dwell there. That's all right. There's a way to get them out. But I'm talking about Judas this morning. It's a way to get them out. This is what Jesus said. Like I told you, we always, there always gonna be some devil vexing. A person who's trying to live right, trying to live saved, trying to live according to the word and the Holy Ghost. You always gonna have a devil or a demon or imp trying to disturb that life you're trying to live. This is what Jesus said in John, that sixth chapter of St. John. Jesus answered him and said, Have I not chosen you twelve? And one of you is a devil? Listen, he called out you. He knows who Judah was the devil when he chose him. But some things are predestined. Some of us don't realize having certain devils in our lives or around our lives, it keeps us on our toes. It keeps our faith sharp.
SPEAKER_00When our faith is being challenged. See, you got to be challenged.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonBecause if you ain't, if you ain't go up there and see, dealing with the devil on a daily basis keeps you strong, makes you keep being strong and strong in the Lord. If nothing bothers you, you wouldn't pray more like you ought to pray. You wouldn't fast like you ought to fast. You wouldn't get in that book like you ought to get in that book. But when something is when you're going through something, tell me you don't pray more. The devil knows he can't, when you're really rooting and grounding the Lord, he knows he can't seduce you like a regular sinner, but he can vex your life. He can get in the people around you. The devil knew he couldn't get in Jesus. So he got in somebody that was close to Jesus. Judah, one of the disciples that he chose. But Jesus, I chose you to have it. I know one of you a devil. Some of us got family members. We love them, but we know which ones the devil's allowing the devil to ruin their lives. We know. Our family's got them. If we hallelujah, continue in giving the enemy our listening ear. If you continue, if you're gonna keep listening to them, the results will be given, giving him time to build a fortress around our minds and hearts. And you don't want that. Well, we become, well, he becomes, he becomes rooted. You ever have some root in your mind that's hard to get it out? A root in your life hard to get it out? Can't let him put no roots, root itself in your mind. He then will not allow nothing of him to get out and nothing of Jesus to get in. This the Bible calls a stronghold. Well, the enemy will attempt to keep a hold strongly over our lives. And we be bad, Lord, set me free. Lord, I want to be free from this thing. I'm so tired of this. But you don't let the devil put a root in your spirit, in your mind. And like true roots, you got they got to be yanked up by the root. Can't you break the stem off? You got to pull it up by the root. Once the devil enters in, the damage begins, and death follows. Because once you let him in, now let him in, his mission now is to kill you.
SPEAKER_00Both spiritually and naturally. We cannot let this happen. I'm gonna stop right here. I'm gonna finish it up, Lord. Let me see next Sunday.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonNext Sunday, I'm gonna I'm gonna bring us to this place where after listening to the devil for so long, I'm gonna read you in script in the Bible. Well, the Bible is gonna say that Satan, he ain't gonna say the devil no more, no demon. The Bible gonna say Satan now entered into him. See, once you listen to the devil, he still ain't all the way in. But if you keep on listening, when he truly completely entered in, like I'm gonna show you next Sunday, when he completely entered into Judas, Jesus had to tell him, What you done now, what you're gonna do, whatever you're gonna do now, go ahead and do it quickly. Because the devil's in you now. Satan and then the Bible said, the Bible used the word. He said, Satan, nothing entered in you now. We got to be careful, brothers and sisters. I'm telling y'all, this thing is serious.
SPEAKER_00We got to be careful.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonI'm gonna pick up right there, at that point, right there, Lord said the same next Sunday. And then I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you when you let the devil in, like what Judas did, the spirit of Judas, he'll have you doing things so demonistic, like when you don't see what Judas, he's gonna have the nerve to betray Jesus in front of everybody with a kiss. You ain't heard about having kissing all on you, but at the same time, they they got they ain't out, they ain't for your good. Why we stop right there?
SPEAKER_00Uh, because I'm gonna that's gonna be part two. Because I think I'll give you enough to to chew on the rest of the day.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonJesus said, I believe it is. He said, Have I not chosen you twelve? And one of you, one after twelve, eleven of you are a I'm working on you, but y'all ain't listening to the devil like this. This woman is one of you. He didn't say one of you is Judas, he said one of you is the devil, which lets you know who it was that was talking in Judas' ear.
SPEAKER_00Setting him up to do something so diabolical that it was gonna cause him to betray the son of God.
Pastor Rickey D. DixonAnd what you and I don't need to do is let that spirit of Judas betray the son of God that's in us by some of the stuff we've been listening to come out of others' mouths. Now I pray if something that was said this morning helps somebody. And ain't about so much seeing what's in other people's eyes, make sure you ain't the one listening to that Judah spirit. Make sure it ain't you. Because also that same night when Jesus told us somebody at this time is gonna betray me, and all I've got to say, Lord, is it I? Lord, is it I? And you and I need to ask, Lord, is it I? Am I gonna betray you before you get back here? Is it me, Lord? And Jesus is what he told them. He didn't tell them directly. He said, Him that whoever sought with me in this bowl, we eat, whoever sought with me after I sopped some out of this bowl, that's the one. And the one that sopped in that bowl after Jesus was the hand of Judas. Who's shopping in your bowl? Sitting at your table, eating with you, living in your house, and sopping with you. Anyway, we're gonna stop right there.
SPEAKER_00And look forward to part two on next Sunday, Lord say the same.
