The Heavy Load Bearer

Good morning, everyone. Let me just say God bless you. God bless you on this wonderful day, this second Sunday in November, the 10th, 2024. I want to introduce y'all. Excuse me. I'm going to try not to do a lot of coughing because I'm just getting over this bad cough, but it's clearing up now. I feel it real good. Really, real good. And just a little lingering. But I want to introduce y'all this morning to somebody that y'all probably not really just know a whole lot about him in this sense. But we're going to learn this morning. We're going to learn this morning. So get your book, get your Bible. I want to introduce us this morning. If we know him fine, and we don't. But I'm going to introduce you to him this morning. This morning, I'm introducing to you all the heavy low bearer. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. The heavy low bearer. See, I know some of we done been designed and we done been conditioned mentally into thinking that we're supposed to carry all this load. We supposed to carry all this burden. But we've been deceived. Highly deceived. For in the things that Jesus came to this earth to do, another one of his characteristics is that he is, and he came to be, he came to become our heavy low bearer. And some of us have been trying to carry such heavy loads in life that were not meant for us to carry. Now, for whatever reason, whether we didn't know no better, whether we lack understanding, whether we were stubborn, whether we were too proud to say I can't handle this. Well, it's never the case. I'm here to tell you this morning, Jesus is the heavy low bearer. And I'm going to tell you why in just a few minutes. He does not want us to be trying to even carry, carry no heaven. We ain't equipped. We ain't designed. We was not made to do that. That's why I'm going to let the word of God, the gospel. We're going to the gospel. One of the gospel writers this morning, the gospel of Matthew. Let's go to the book of Matthew. I ain't gonna hold you long, but I'm gonna give it to you. It's gonna be wrong. But it's gonna be good. In the book of Matthew, chapter 11. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Matthew chapter 11. Three verses in our foundation for the heavy low bearer. Matthew chapter 11, verses 28, 29, and verse 30. Now here we go. This Jesus is gonna be doing the talking in all three of these verses. Verse 28, he says, Come, hallelujah, unto me. Come on, Paul. Don't run, don't run the sentences together. Come unto me. Give you the specific instructions on what to do. Number one, come on. Me, you got to be the one coming to me. Okay? Come unto me. All, not some, but all ye that labor. Hallelujah. And are heavy? Heaven labor. I need you to come to me because what you've been trying to do is too heavy for you. What you've been trying to accomplish, laboring and killing yourself, it ain't working. It's too heavy. What I need you to do is come unto me. I'm the one. I'm the heavy load bearer. All ye that labor and are heavy laden. What I'm gonna do, what you gonna do for us, Jesus? And I will give you rest. You know the kind of rest you you you receive when you done drop the heavy load off of you? That's rest. When something was too heavy, you finally have to put it down, you can rest. But what Jesus, he wants us to do to rest, and he wants us to let him carry the heavy load. But we got to come to him. Listen. Jesus has a gracious invitation to all anybody that are going through this life, and all of us going through this life, all of us gonna have moments of heaviness. Hallelujah. All of us gonna have moments of being burdened down. All of us gonna have moments of mental stupidity, if you let me say it like that, when we think we able to do something and it can't, we have a moment of mental stupidity because we'll we'll fuck ourselves up thinking we can do a thing and it ain't it ain't we ain't able. But Jesus has given us a gracious invitation to all that are going through this life. He says this come unto me. Stop going to the devil, stop going to your ace boom coon, stop going to people who just has weighed it down and haven't laid them down with their own stuff just like you is. He says, Come to me. Those of you, those of us with the heaviest of troubles in life, and those burdened with the sin brought on by our own human nature, and some of this low we don't brought on ourselves. Some of this heaviness we done brought on ourselves. Some of it comes through just by living life and dealing with life day to day, hustling buff. And other things, the heaviness and stupid stuff we done did trying to do what we know we ain't able to do. Listen, we got to know if we gonna in the Lord, we got to know that we have a master, we have a king, we have a big brother, we have the Lord on our side. See, Jesus, Jesus yet says, Come unto me. We can read that and hear that and still go the other way. We can hear him say in the gospel, come unto me, but we'll go to somebody else. We'll go to something else. We'll choose to go another way. We think we can, we think we smart and we think we know it all. But don't nobody know you. We can't be that smart if we can't say what the next moment is gonna have, what gonna be what it's gonna be. We can't care, we can't be that smart if we don't know what tomorrow. So we got to come out of our high-mindedness. We've got to come out of our self-righteousness and humble ourselves down and take serious heed to our Lord and Savior when he says, Come to me, don't circumce it, don't overthink it, don't try to figure it out, just obey and shut your mouth. Notice how Jesus said, Hallelujah, come unto me, implying that we must bring the heaviness to him. Come on now, come on. You got to bring the heavy load to him. First, you need to recognize, Lord, this thing you have for me. Second, you got to recognize I know who I can take this to. Because if I keep toting this here, come on, brother, so listen, if we keep totaling stuff like we told it, what you think gonna happen? What you think gonna be our ease? Come on to me and plant, bring in the heaviness, bring in the burdens to him. If we live as though we want to keep on carrying it, he will allow us to. If you want to be hard-headed, trust me on this. I know if you show God you want to keep being hard-headed, he'll let you keep being hard-headed. He will allow us to until we come to ourselves and give the heavy loads and burdens to him.

Living for him, the rest that live for him also, the freedom to rest and not be burning down that living for Jesus also. What he will do then is exchange our heaviness of dealing with yourself in life for his rest. While he carrying the Lord, see our minds can be in rest. Lord know, because I don't want to get stalled on that mind. Because some of us have messed our brains up.

Our spirits can rest from the wear and tear of trying to carry heavy loads of life for so many years and decades that has taken its toll upon us spiritually. I said it before, and I'm gonna say it again. I don't care who you are, where you come from, none of us who are striving to live a life, a productive spiritual life for the Lord can do so. Properly, this is what I'm saying, properly, if we always burden down with junk and mess and heaviness, we cannot properly do a good job of serving him when our lives are always in a chaotic heaviness state. We do his kingdom no good because we ain't all the we ain't all ourselves. See these benefits of Jesus giving us rest from the heaviness of the troubles which we have been laden. It sure sounds good, these benefits. See, if we can have them. But here's the ironic thing. Here's the thing, here's the fun thing about it. So many of us still harbor a reluctancy spirit. We'll know we need to go to God, but reluctantly, we still draw it back completely. I want him to help me, but I don't completely give it all to him. We still harbor that reluctance spirit. Because see, I'm gonna tell you something. Say what you won't say. But I've been on this planet for a little while now. You can get used to a thing if you keep doing a thing. Did you hear what you see? Now, that could be the that can that go, that works both with positive things and negative things. You can get used to doing negative stuff. Just like you can get used to doing positive stuff. You keep doing a thing, whatever that thing is, you get used to doing that thing. Keep doing it, see what you get used to. And if you get you get used to total or having a life of heaviness, you will eventually get used to heavy because you're so used to total. And you it will feel strange to you if you ever have to put it down, because you don't know a life carrying a light load in your mind and in your heart. That's why these businesses of Jesus sound good. If you can let yourself have them, if you can let yourself come unto me, like Jesus said, and get rid of that reluctance in spirit, and come on to Jesus like you need to come on to him. So many times in our struggles and fights with life, God bless you. If you ain't never had to fight and fight and had life fights and struggles in your life, maybe you're gonna live someone living a privileged life. God bless you. But real life, there are gonna be some struggles and some fights. And so many of us doing these struggles and fights with life, we still don't want to talk. Listen, we still, even though we've been striving and swaying all day, we still don't want to talk or come to the Lord. No, you need to go in and get in there and talk to Jesus. No, you get in there and get on flat on your face and cry after God, but you still don't want to talk to him. You know he said, Come on to me.

When it's the simplest thing to say, here, Jesus, you can have it here. Ain't no need to me, ain't no need of me still keep on being stupid, trying to carry a heavy load that's designed for you to carry. Because ain't no load that Jesus can't carry. Hallelujah. I don't care how heavy the load is, there is no load in this life that you and I live that Jesus can't carry. Now there are plenty of loads we can't carry that we shouldn't even be trying to. There's some things y'all in our life we shouldn't even never try to pick up. There are some things in life we should have never even tried to attempt to do.

And some people I fear don't want to come to the Lord. Could it be that some of us shy away from the Lord? Because in our coming to him, he might just see something else we don't want him to see. Or which we don't we don't want him to bring it up while he's picking up our load. Don't want him to see, just take the load, Jesus. Don't look at them from doom. Well, let me give you some truth. Let me give you some truth here. What is it that he doesn't already know about our messed up lies only? Tell me something, Jesus don't. Now, other people might not know messed up stuff about your life. But ain't nothing that Jesus don't know about our messed up lies. He already knew it already, so ain't no me trying to hide nothing. Come clean. Let him come, take the heavy loads out your life, and get yourself together. See, his truth, talking about the truth of Jesus, is that he sees the trouble life we are headed toward. Why do you think he said come unto me? In the first place, because he sees which way you hit it. And before you just go off that steep cliff of carrying that stuff, trouble in your life, that heaviness, those burdens, before you go over the head, before you jump off the bridge, he says, Hallelujah.

Our trouble lives, our heavy lives are gonna get worse. The weight and heaviness of life's burdens are going to soon be too much, too bad. They already have too much to bear. And who do we think is going to be crushed underneath the heavy load that we try to tow? Who you think gonna get crushed first?

Heavy hearts, heavy minds. When our minds and thoughts are heavy, I'm talking about your head, I'm talking about your head right now. I'm just trying to get up in that head. Let me get in the head area. When our minds and thoughts are heavy, with all kinds of I can't begin to imagine all the thoughts that go through a person's mind in just a day, a 24-hour period day. But I can tell you what it could create. When our when our minds and thoughts are heavy, we have a what is called, I'm gonna call it a heavy heat.

A heavy heat, a heavy head of craziness, ungodly thoughts, weary thoughts, despair, stressful thoughts, a heavy heat that God did not give.

Do you not know our minds were supposed to be free from all that stuff? I proved to you. What that book said in Ephesians, that sixth chapter, when the when when when Paul is telling the the church in Ephesus, put on the whole arm of God. When we stop skipping through stuff too fast, pause at that point, we said, put on the helmet of salvation. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Understand what a helmet is now. What do a helmet do? It protect the head. Okay, spiritually. What do we do? It protects the mind. It protects the thoughts and healthy. Because all that gibberish that the devil trying to put in our mind, all that stuff that comes in our mind extra from trying to carry heavy loads and heavy burdens, stressed out, worried out, giving us a heavy head.

How are we able to go through life with a heavy head full of loads of troubled thoughts that we can't handle without the Lord?

Matthew 11, 28, 29. That 29th verse says this. Jesus, he's talking. He says, Take my yoke upon you. You want a yoke? Take my yoke. Did you want to be yoked up with something? Take my yoke. And learn of me. You ain't learning that being yoked up with the heaviness of the world of life, heaviness with the world. You ain't learning that being yoked up with the world. Not about the Lord. You ain't learning that being yoked up with burden, burdened down situations. You ain't learning nothing. But Jesus, you get yoked up to with me, you can learn something. For I am meek and lowly in heart, is what he said. I take it. And ye shall find, he comes out there, rest again. The rest you've been trying to find. You will find it if you are getting me. And ye shall find rest. Rest for what, Jesus? Rest for your soul. Now, how many of us know that our soul needs some rest right now? Some of us ain't had our souls ain't rested the whole year. And here it is already over. And our souls ain't rested. Our minds ain't rested this year. The year almost gone. And you don't want a whole year, your mind been unread in an unrest state? Your soul been in an unrest state? Now something wrong with that picture. Good gracious now. Something's wrong with that picture. See, sis, okay, since we so intently, it seems, to want to yoke ourselves with a yoke. Jesus says this. He's saying it to us. Take my yoke upon you. Take listening. Now it's the reason why he's saying yoke. Now Jesus' yoke is totally different from the world's yoke. The world's yoke ain't gonna do nothing but burden you down and work you like the mule and the donkey. All day, ply the field. They're gonna yoke you all day, work you to death. Now, Jesus' yoke ain't like this. That's why he said, take my yoke upon me. In essence, he is welcoming up. Listen to that thing, I catch this. He is welcoming us to yoke up with him and are living this life. Let me tell you now. Let me let me let me let me let me let me let me teach a little bit. Let me teach a little bit. Explain to you about a yoke because some of all us in this day generation, we call time, we don't know what yoke is. I mean, real yoke when they were yoke. We see pictures, but we live that kind of life. We don't know about yoke. Anyway, the yoke yokes was designed to fit two animals together. Get that in your mind. They were designed, they were crafted, they were shaped, where two animals could be yoked together. In other words, with them being yoked together, they can pull together, they can work together, and what the farmer would be able to do is get more work done out of two working together than out of one working solo. Two meals yoked together can plow up a good fear before the sun goes down. Yoked together. They were designed for two animals to be yoked, be it two cows, two oxes, two donkeys, two meals, what for them. Now that's natural, so but now I want to show you the spiritual side of it. What Jesus is trying to do is get us to be yoked with him. Come on now. Look at that picture. Think about how that is. You're going through life. Whatever you face with, it ain't gonna matter because you yoke with Jeep. But I'm gonna show you the difference. The difference now is the difference. When yoked to Jesus, then the two animals, they pulling together. But if you yoke to Jesus, Jesus is gonna be doing all the pulling. But it's something you're gonna be doing, I'm gonna get you in a minute. I'm gonna get you in a minute. Do we not see that Jesus is saying, yoke up with him? And even though we will be yoked up with him, he is the one that will be doing most of the pulling of the load. Jesus is doing most of the pulling because while he is pulling our heavy loads, he wants us to be focusing on this at one point in verse 29. This one point in verse 29, where he says, Take my yoke up on you. Now here come our point. And learn of me. See, while he's pulling our load, he wants you to be learning. Not about the world, not about celebrities, not about what's going on, what show coming on. Learning about me. While I'm taking the load off you, the pressure off your life, you use that time to learn about me. While he's doing the most important, hey look, he wants us to be focusing on learning about him through his word and not the distraction. We won't have the distraction of being burdened down. See, when you ain't got when you ain't burdened down with a heaven low, you ain't even gonna be distracted by the heaven. Because you ain't cared. You ain't gonna be distracted by the burden because you ain't cared. You can't be distracted by something that's not affecting your life any longer. Jesus got it. He says, learn of me. And that's the area most of us still hadn't. We still flunking that area, we're still making these and empty because we won't learn on him. There's some learning to be learned. Hey, yeah, yeah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

There's some learning to be learned about Jesus that we still have not learned. Hallelujah. Learn of me. You're free to learn now because your mind ain't burdened down. You're free to learn now because you ain't got no distractions of being burdened down with life problem. Because I got them. Now that you don't come to me. Now that you don't find a place where your mind can rest. Now what we need to do is this. Thank. I need y'all to think a minute. When was the last time we learned something new about the Lord? When the last time we say we learned something new about the Lord? The last time we put ourselves in a place where he can reveal something more about himself to us. Or were we too distracted to get the memo?

We were too distracted to get the message from the Holy Ghost. And we missed it. Because we were so burdened out.

Yoked up without Him. We will do all the pulling. That's what we've all been doing all our lives. All the pulling because we ain't been yoked with the Lord. We thought we could yoke up with this other stuff. We tried to yoke up with it. Everything but Jesus, we try to yoke up with, and it don't work. Yoked up without the Lord, we will do all the pulling and the yanking. And eventually, what's gonna happen? We will destroy ourselves.

Notice how sleepy we are all the time. How restless in the mind we always are. We stay stressed and on the edge. Shucking. People have to be careful what they say to us sometimes.

We still don't want to talk to the Lord and still don't see why we need to come to the Lord. In some of my own personal reading time.

I've been reading the book of Isaiah, been reading Jeremiah. I don't know where I've been I've been going through this period of reading about the prophets. I mean that Jeremiah now, but when I was reading Isaiah You you you you read the way some of the writers write in the Bible, they'll repeat and say different things. And I noticed that Isaiah chapter five, a few other chapters, chapter nine, seven, I think it was, if not mistake. But I remember this what he says. Even when the children of Israel kept on disobeying, even when the the kingdom of Judah, the kingdom of Jerusalem, all of them were still disobeying God and still being hard-heated. I noticed something that Isaiah wrote at the end of a few of those chapters, and also in the middle of some of those chapters, he says this, hallelujah. And I think this is probably some of us today in our hard-headed stiffness. He says that Isaiah wrote this, he said, he said, talking about God. He said, but his hand, hallelujah, is stretched out still. Read that. He's talking about the Lord, even though they're doing all this wrong, even though, even though they don't want to come to me, even if they don't want to do right, Isaiah wrote, he said, but his hand, talking about the Lord, is stretched out speaking. Even now, hallelujah, right now, the Lord's hand is stressed out. Knowing we done rejected him, knowing we done turned our back on him, knowing he wasn't our first child, but still, his hand is stretched out Extending His hand for you to come to him Matthew, still in Matthew chapter 11. Verse 30, about three verse foundation. Verse 30 said, For my yoke Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Isaiah did something.

Hallelujah. Yes. Yes. For my yoke is easy. And my burden is light. Not the shining light. My burden talking about weight-wise light. You ain't gonna holler know you ain't got no burden on because it's so light. Cause I'm told. My yoke is easy.

Just do what I'm my word to say. Just live, just live right. Live holy. Live according to my word. My yoke is easy. See, little animal was yoked together sometimes all day long. That that big heavy wood, the hot heavy wood stock irritates the net. Because the foreman had to clamp it down. And he had to clamp it down where both of them's heads moved the same time and pulling at the same way, irritating the neck, trying to synchronize your neck with somebody else's neck.

But Jesus said, my yoke is easy.

Your neck ain't gonna be irritating, your mind ain't gonna be irritated, your life ain't gonna be irritating. Because my burden is light. This is lightweight. Now you would think most of us would want life to be a little bit easier in our day-to-day activity. You would think that. I'm a witness to this here. There is no easier life that can be lived than the life we can live in Jesus. I'm talking spiracy. I ain't talking about the, yeah, I ain't talking about, yeah, we go through suffering. Yeah, we we we deal with persecution, but focusing on your problems, not your situation. Focusing on who you're living for and the reward that's waiting on you, eternal life, and all I gotta do is obey Jesus and His word. This is the easiest life you can ever leave. Because he done did everything. All we need to do is keep our faith in him, and we will know the reality of a burden-free and a heavenness-free life in Jesus Christ. And God knows a lot of us, see, some of us born stubborn and stiff neck, some of us born like that. Say what you want to say. Some of us born stubborn, and thinking we all that thinking we can do this, thing we do that. But see, that's why the Bible says we need wisdom. When you get in Jesus, you need some wisdom. And the reason I said it was I think about a time when in the butt way back in the book of Exodus, you know when Moses tried to, he was trying to do it all, thought he could do it all. And in own fart along, Jeffro. Baby, you you're doing too much. You're gonna kill yourself. I'm paraphrasing. I I let me read. Let me read the book. The Bible says, I'm gonna next up 18th chapter, two verses. You can read the rest of it and you study time. Moses, the Bible said, and Moses' father in law said unto him, This thing that thou doest is not good. I'm telling y'all this morning, some of this stuff y'all doing to you, say it ain't good. And if something ain't good, what is it?

And Moses' father-in-law said unto him, the thing that thou doest is not good. His father-in-law was an older man, Jeffro, Jeffroel older. Why, he'll live a little living. He can tell the young bucks out. This ain't good what you're trying to do here. This is what he said. Thou, this is what Jeffro told him. Thou wilt surely wear away. You're gonna wear yourself out. You're gonna wear yourself all the way away. Not just you, you're gonna wear yourself out. Both you, both thou, and this people that is with thee. You're gonna wear yourself out and everybody else around you. Because you're trying to do too much. You're going to where Jeffro said, you're doing it the wrong way. You ain't doing it under the wisdom of the Lord. This is what Jeffro told. He said, For this thing is what? Is too heavy for thee. This is too heavy for you got to know it's something. Let me tell you something about black folk color folks. I don't mean no more. Especially our black beings. We got to stop thinking we superheroes. Stop thinking we invincible. And stop thinking we got all the answers. See, there's a reason the book. See, I read the book. That's why if y'all hang around me, I'm gonna give you nothing but the book. Let me tell you what the book says. Pause, hold, hold it, Jeffro. Let me appeal to Jeffro for a minute. Let me sidebar. I'm about to let you go, but let me give you some book. Let me get you some something holding. There's a reason why the Bible says this. The head, high, hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. All ghost hit me sometimes. Y'all just have to bear with me. Please. The hard the head, the Bible said, the head of Christ is God.

The head of man is Christ. And the head of woman is the man.

Okay, let me go back to this point. Because to this point, I want to bring out. The head of man. See, I gotta get this in these black men. The head of man is Christ. What that's telling me. I'll tell you what it's saying to me. Because I listen to the whole ghost. That's telling me, as men, when things we are faced with something that could very well have the potential of being too heavy, we got a head we can go to and give it to him. Jesphro said, this thing is too heavy for you, Moses. You need to go to the law. But so many of our black men will so stubborn and so full of pride and don't know how to humble ourselves to say, Lord, I need some help. Just humble yourself and just tell the Lord you need some help. And what happens is another side of the bad side of the heavy load is when the effects of carrying a heavy load and heaviness and burden, the one of the side effects that really destroys a lot of our black men is when we try to bottle all that, keep all that stuff bottled up inside. I've been there. We destroy ourselves for trying to bottle all that stuff up inside. But we refuse to express. You ain't got to talk to another man, but you need to talk to the Lord, your head. You need to go to him, your head. For this thing is too heavy for thee. Well, you tell him, Jeff Who, thou art not able to perform it thyself alone. You can't do this by yourself. Don't be so big-headed and heavy-headed that you can't admit that something just too heavy for you. It's just too much for me. I can't do this alone. Okay, fine. Now all you need to do is let me just go to my closet. Let me go find a place alone where I can talk to my head. Let me go find a place where I can come, go to the Lord, and give it to him. And he can give me rest from this thing. Because this is I'm finna wear myself out. I ain't had no rest the whole year in my mind. Because I did not go to him who is the heavy load battle, like I should have gone through. Now I got a heavy head, and now my mind is all troubled. And now things and life done affected me in ways that I don't start affecting other people. You see what Jeff World told us? He said, both you, you ain't gonna just wear yourself, you ain't wearing just don't wore yourself out. You don't want the people out around you. He said, I will surely wear away both thou and this people that is with thee. Now, who the people with you that you don't wear out?

From the longest, the longest chapter in the Bible. Psalms 119. Now I'm not finna read this whole chapter, Psalm 119. No one is not not here on the comfort line. I have read it before, but I'm just gonna, can I just get three verses out of it and let you read the rest of that chapter in your third time? Psalms 119. I'm just gonna read you three verses that I feel is appropriate for the ending of this text and this message that I'm leaving with you this morning.

Make me to understand the way of that precept. I need to understand this thing like you need me to understand. Like I told you to understand this thing, because I didn't I ain't been understanding this thing right, Lord. Make me, I need you to make me understand the way of that precept. Why, daily, you want the Lord to do this, so shall I talk? So I can see I can talk about wondrous works. I can start just instead of complaining about what's going on in my life, instead of uh uh talking negative and complaining and murmuring and bracking and biting folks' heads out, I can start talking about the wonderful words that I'm seeing you doing with the heavy loads of my own personal life. Make me understand thy way and thy precepts, so shall I talk? I'll start talking about wonderful, wondrous words.

Because you, when you do that, you replace in lying with the truth, because the word of God is true. You give me truth in the place of God. Now I'm gonna tell the truth.
