The Rad Movie Podcast
The Rad Movie Podcast is centered around the 1986 BMX movie Rad, starring Bill Allen and Lori Laughlin, and directed by Hal Needham. I'm lucky enough to be friends with several members of the cast, and I'll be interviewing them, as well as a variety of other fans, including celebrity fans! You'll hear interviews with Bill, Eddie Fiola, the film's writer Sam Bernard, Hopefully Bart Conner and more. If you love the film, you'll love this podcast, hearing stories of the making of the film and what's happened since, and fan stories.
If you want, there's also a behind-the-scenes audio track called "Rad: Behind The Scenes" available on iTunes and Amazon. Amazon also has the great A Rad Documentary by Chris Phenix.

SPEAKER_00Welcome to the Rad Movie Podcast. I'm your host, Tony Donaldson, and a super fan of the movie, probably like you. In this podcast, I will be interviewing the cast of the film, some of the writers, and some notable fans. You can watch this podcast as a video podcast on YouTube or listen to it anywhere you listen to podcasts. Please consider liking and subscribing and share this with your rad fan friends. Hey fellow rad fans. I've got a really short but sweet episode this time. I went out to Dirty Fest over the weekend. It was a great time. If you've never been, it's put together by uh Mike Miranda, Eric Carter, and James Vicente, uh the same guys that run the Dirty Knobs podcast, which if you haven't listened to that, you need to. Uh if you're a a fan at all of old school BMX racing. Um the the event itself is worth going to every year. Uh it's in Temecula, California, uh it at Vale Lake uh resort, and there were probably 3,000 people there this year, and it's it's you know, uh everybody, uh all of your racing heroes from back in the day. Uh Danny Milwee was there. I was trying to uh find him, but uh didn't, so he's you know he he was in rad. Um they've got a a bike show, they actually are running um the the they actually run uh bike races uh including side hacks and and fun stuff like that. But while I was there, I met up with uh Bill Allen and Todd Seligman. If you don't know who Todd Seligman is, he's a BMX racer uh who uh sorry, not racer, he was a freestyle guy, a really great writer, uh pro writer, and he's now uh producer, and he's working with Bill on a number of projects, including their new graphic novel. Novel. I I I can't speak this morning, I haven't had enough coffee, but it's uh Helltrack, and they are doing a Kickstarter that I will include in the show notes, uh and uh it it's it's really cool looking. I mean, I've seen some of the early artwork and it's absolutely amazing. Uh they need a little bit of help uh if they can get it. So um without further ado, here's my interview with Bill and Todd. So here we are with a very special edition of the podcast, a live one actually. And uh I have with me uh Bill Allen and Todd Seligman. And they've got some exciting news to talk about.
