You start to fulfill your calling to set captives free TODAY by using this simple prayer template, which applies to EVERYONE. You may need to begin with yourself. Start by asking these questions:
- Are you angry with your Mom, Dad, grandparents, spouse, ex-spouse, ex-boyfriend, girlfriend, children or siblings? Do you have any anger towards God or yourself?
(If the answer is no, congratulate the person and move on to the next. If the answer is yes, choose one of the above persons and move to step #2).
- Ask them to repeat this prayer: "In the name of Jesus"…I renounce…my anger towards_______.
- I have anger towards _______ because…." (Let the person repeating the prayer fill in the blank space after "because" with their own words. Encourage them to be as honest and explicit as possible. Only what is truly confessed can be released.
- After they list their reasons for being angry, move on to the next step.) "Lord Jesus, I forgive, and I bless (the perpetrator)______."
- "And with Your help and Your power, Jesus, I choose today to give you all of my anger towards ______.
- Please set me free from this anger and cleanse me from its effects.
- Finally, have the person close their eyes and envision Jesus. Next, have them imagine putting all their anger toward that individual in a box or a bag and then give it to Jesus.
- Ask the person to tell you what they "see" Jesus do with the bag or box. What happens next will be remarkable.
