Glena, so tell us a little more about how your art is making an impact in the community.

In 2025, um this project was part of the indigenous public art program in the city of Calgary. And I found a way where I would have um multiple artists share in this project with me and and bring it to um to my home community in Tsutina Nation and have people come out and spend the day and and learn uh from different artists uh within my family.

So you're putting a smile on so many people's faces with your art. How does it make you feel making this impact?

Well, I I feel great. I feel like um I couldn't do it any other way. Like I I have my own art practice and then I have I do a collaborative work with my son Seth Cardinal Dodging Horse and as Tina Guyane. But yeah, it feels good to bring and highlight all the artists in my family.

And what do you love? Because this month is Indigenous History Month. What does it mean to you in a personal note celebrating your culture?

It means that we're gonna have a day of telling stories and learning oral histories, and it means that a lot of times people like have read a book or people are just like not connected as much as they should be to who's um you know, who's sharing these teachings. So this is like hands-on and having everybody together and and yeah, they they get to ask questions and they get to be part of the experience of of um, you know, making these relationships with indigenous people.
