You know, all of us work for a reason, not just to pay our bills. Hopefully, a lot of us work because we love what we do. And we're working working towards our dreams. And when our dreams become reality, that's when what we've done, the work we put into it, pays
off. And that's what Jess gets to experience today. So, Jess, tell us about what your dream was and is now like. What has it feel to have it fulfilled right there in the moment in time?
SPEAKER_00Well, as you're saying it, I'm literally tearing up because it's just so freaking exciting that this is something that we're able to do. And we're able to do that because of the business that we are building together. So as long as you have known me, Kylie, you have known that I have had one major um goal in mind. And everybody that has probably been on this call has heard me talk about this goal, and that is to own a second home, a second home at the beach. And that has come to reality as of today. We just signed the papers and we closed on a condo down in Florida. And it does not have a water view of the ocean, but it has a canal view off to the side, and we are literally two minutes from the beach's edge. And it is beautiful and it is exciting. And I couldn't be more excited about the fact that we're able to do this, but I'm going to tell you how we're able to do this.
So I have been very fortunate in my career. I have had uh a long, long career in as a massage therapist, um, as a functional nutritionist, and the average lifespan of a massage therapist is five to seven years. I will be approaching 30 five. Yeah. It's that short. It's that short. It's a pretty demanding, physically demanding job. Um, and so my 35th year will be this fall, since I have been hands-on with people, and it's a really long time, very physical. And my office is also not like a standard massage therapy office. There's a lot of other work that we do in here. But the flip side of that is if I'm not in the office, I'm not making money. So the only way that I think a lot of people are that situation. Sure. Yeah. So, in order for me to know that there's a paycheck coming in, I have to be present. And, you know, I've been breaking my body down for a long time. Um, I am very fortunate in that my husband has had a long career in the NYPD that came with a lot of great benefits, including full dental and health benefits and retirement and all of those lovely things, which enabled us to make sure that food was on the table when I wasn't able to be in the office, whether it was because I was in my child rearing years, or I was pregnant and couldn't do it, or I had an injury that I was recovering from, whatever it was, we were always covered. And I was very fortunate that way. Not everybody is. I understand that. But my dream has always been for us, as hard
as we've worked, to have a second home. And in order for us to do that, that meant that I needed to be able to supplement what we were doing, but also find a way to make money when I'm not in the office, which is exactly what we have done by partnering with the telemedicine company that we did. And at this point now, I have been with the company for a year, but I wasn't talking about the business until about really six months ago. I would say six or seven months ago. I started talking about the business. And we just received our checks last night. Um, that will we'll get them tomorrow, but the amount was issued for our monthly commissions that is above and that is above what we earn on our weekly commissions. And the amount of that check, I'm not taking the full check, but I am taking part of that check and transferring that right over to the place where we borrowed, we borrowed money from ourselves to repay what we just took out to pay for this second home. So it is largely because of this opportunity that I said yes to, that I didn't think I ever would, you know, me and never say never. Here I am making my dream come true today, closing on a house in Florida by the beach, and I go and I'm having a blast doing it. That's the other part of it. Not only am I making money when I'm not in my office, I'm having so much fun with the people I'm working with, all of you, and the people that I get to help heal in ways that I have never seen in my entire career. It's just amazing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's it's super fun.
Um, I know this goes farther for you than just having a home at the beach. Your son lives there. And why does he live there?
SPEAKER_00So he we we did this largely because he's transferring into a flight school from New York down to Florida. We're moving him down there so that he has another place to to live, and we aren't throwing money away in rent while he's pursuing his career as a pilot, which is very long and very expensive. Um, and he is going to be able to reach his goals, and we are able to do that comfortably to support him along that way by providing housing for him in a place where he can fly much more frequently than he can here with the weather here in New York. So it's twofold. It's our dream coming to a second home, owning a second home is our dream coming to fruition, but also providing a safe place for our son to live while he is pursuing his education.
SPEAKER_01There's two parts I love about that. One is your dreams becoming a reality, yeah, reality, but now you have the funds and the finances to support his dreams to become a reality. So you've got twofold here you and Tubby, and then your son.
And that's just what saying yes to an opportunity like this can open up. Like I always say, if there's a if there's a great business opportunity, I'll know it when I find it, and I found a great one, but you have to walk through that door, you have to go through the window, and you gotta go do the work. And one of the things that we learned over the weekend, one of our great, fantastic speaker at the conference, um, she says, you know, people say work work smarter, not harder. She's like, I don't believe that. You work smart and it's hard. You gotta do both. And that I think really is true, especially in this AI
