Peptalk: Peptides Unpacked

BONUS: Peptides, Purpose, And Paychecks

Dr. Kylie Burton & Jessica Briecke Season 1 Episode 19

Peptides are more than a buzzword—they're a bridge between real health outcomes and a smarter way to build income without drowning in funnels, overhead, or burnout.

In this bonus episode, we close out our business series with a clear, candid look at how three women—Kinzie, Karli, and Katie—turned science-backed care into compounding revenue, and why this hybrid model rewards education, integrity, and consistency.

***Listen to the other bonus episodes first. This should be the last episode you listen to.

What We Cover:

  • Demystifying peptides and the moment that stopped us in our tracks: Kinzie's numbers—not hype, just habits
  • Why five new weight-loss customers a month can snowball into meaningful year-one revenue (because people stay when results are real)
  • Karli's story: how personal healing became purpose and changed her families financial life
  • Katie's proof: clinicians can expand their reach and keep standards high by partnering with a telemedicine team that handles safety, sourcing, and patient support
  • The difference between traditional entrepreneurship and affiliate-driven growth: you don't have to invent products, build tech, or carry the stress of payroll to make an impact
  • Resetting the "pyramid" misconception by following the money: most companies spend big on ads; this model sends that marketing budget to people who educate and care for clients directly
  • Flexible paths: share a single link, lead a small team, or fold peptides into a busy practice

For Anyone Who Feels the Tug: If these stories spark curiosity, possibility, or that "could be me" feeling—follow it. Your new income stream awaits.

This is PepTalk: Peptides Unpacked—science made simple, results made real.

SPEAKER_01:

Peptides are powerful and often misunderstood. But we're here to change that. I'm Dr. Kylie Burton. And I'm Jessica Brickie. This is pep talk. Peptides unpacked. Science made simple, results made real. You know what? I want to go back and be like, we have changed that, I hope, on this final episode of our pep talk podcast series.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, you want to do that? We can do that.

SPEAKER_01:

No, I just like that's I was just thinking of like, wait, we're wrapping this up. We did change the idea, right? If we didn't, then our then our mission was fail. I think we did. The mission is complete. I would say the idea of peptides.

SPEAKER_00:

We have touched on everything. So I mean, today we are gonna wrap up the business bonus series. I'm gonna start with this. When Kenzie shared her numbers, my jaw dropped because they weren't just impressive, they were mind-blowing.

SPEAKER_01:

They were life-changing. And again, if she can, we can. This isn't someone who just lucked into success. Kinzie built those numbers while raising four kids on her own, launching multiple projects, teaching fitness, leading women, and staying anchored in her values.

SPEAKER_00:

And seeing numbers like that from a woman who built with service, grit, and heart, it reminds us that this business is more than just commissions or referrals. It's about impact. It's about possibility, it's about stories that start with personal transformation and grow into purpose.

SPEAKER_01:

So today we're going to highlight what we learned from each of the women in this bonus series: Kinse, Carly, and Katie. And what their journeys might spark in yours.

SPEAKER_00:

I have to laugh because we have these three names, Kinsey, Carly, and Katie. And for me, I have you, Kylie. Yes. It has been, I will say, it has been a little bit of a struggle to make sure. I know that when I'm pretty sure when we recorded with Carly, I twisted names because it's tongue twister.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, Carly, like Kinsey, have trans has transformed, I hate that word, but in this case it works, has transformed their financial future.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Carly's husband is now a stay-at-home dad. When they were literally a paycheck per paycheck by paycheck family. Kinse was drowning in medical debt and is now almost debt-free. She's about got her house paid off. That changes lives. As well as the peptide therapy themselves, but the financial change.

SPEAKER_00:

That's incredible. And doing it will you have massive impact on with people and their wellness.

SPEAKER_01:

You might be thinking, well, I can do this if I run my own business. And the funny part is I always looked at quote running your own business different than in an affiliate business. Because in my mind, I was like, you're not running your own business. You don't have to create your own product. You don't have to create your own tech. You don't have to run your own funnels, all those things. But in reality, it's just a different type of business. I've been down the rabbit hole of running my own business and having the overhead on my shoulders and having to create the funnel and the tech and learn the sales and learn not just one-to-one sales but one-to-many sales and then have to go online. Like I've been there, I've done all those things. When I can see an easier route, I can breathe easier. My mama heart can calm down. My anxiety, my panic attacks can be no more. And I really want people who are interested in creating residual income, who are interested in creating a different avenue of creating income for their family. Why, whatever your reason being, to know that this is something you can do no matter where you're at. Beginner, midlife, wanting to create something for retirement, whatever your reason is, you don't have to do it the hard way. You can do it an easier way. And that's why we are here. That's why we said yes to this. And that's why we're so passionate about it, is not just because of what peptides are doing, but because of the financial future it can create.

SPEAKER_00:

I think that you touched on something a little bit too when you're talking about you had that business and all of those things. And what you didn't really talk about a lot is the stress that comes along with being in charge of or responsible for a team of people too, depending on what type of business you're running, right? So with this model, you can do it one of two ways. You can just literally have an affiliate link and just share and make a percentage of the business, which is pretty darn good, or you can put yourself in a leadership role where you are growing teams and having a kind of another part of the business. You can do it either way. But whichever way you go, you are not worried about that team of people underneath you either performing to what you need, doing the job that you need them to do in your business, or making sure that the business is there so that they can feed their families. The stress of that is enormous. And this eliminates some of those stressors of owning your own business in that model, in that traditional business model.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. What people weren't seeing behind scenes was the amount of panic man, amount of panic attacks I was experiencing. What people weren't seeing behind scenes was that I knew this was not something I could sustain. And I knew I needed an alternative path. And so I've just been keeping my mind open to something that was alternative, something that was different. Um, now do I need to create an income for my family to survive? No, I don't. I haven't needed to from the very beginning, very beginning, but it's not about me creating about income for my family, it's about me being driven and just saying, what can I do? What possibilities can I create? And all of the income I've created has just been an added bonus to where we can go on vacations. We moved out of a toxic and a toxic neighborhood into the neighborhood we we belong in. And you know that for me, that was my my goal was to have my kids grow up in a neighborhood where they felt safe, where they had friends that they could grow up with, and bonus if their friends and if their if their friends' parents were our friends, even better, and we got that perfectly. So if you're thinking about taking a leap of faith, take it.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. I mean, so you have your story and your why, and I think about Kinsey's story who found herself in a position to be a now single mom of four young children, or well, I guess I guess her older ones were maybe heading off to college age, but four children and drowning in medicine. She doesn't look that old to me. Were you shocked when she said that? I was literally shocked. So yeah. But no wonder you have college kids. You look like you're 40. Yeah, I don't know what her age is, but I was I was stunned at that myself. But you know, at the end of the day, though, her need to create a business came from this space of um getting out of debt because of medical expenses. So everybody's gonna have whatever their reason is, it's driving for driving them. And then there's the flexibility in the how with this model and um doing it in a way that's impactful and that aligns with you, whether you're doing it in a social media space or you're introducing it to a brick and mortar business, or you are just out there talking with people in your experience one-to-one, there's so many ways you can go about this.

SPEAKER_01:

Right. And it doesn't have to be big, it can be big if you would like to go big, but you can literally start off with five people a month and remember the numbers Kinzie shared with us. Oh my gosh, right. If this isn't motivating, I don't know what is. Five new customers per month will equal a total of$33,715 at the one-year revenue mark.

SPEAKER_00:

Now, to be clear, that's five new people that are on the weight loss program. So if they're doing um, you know, maybe they're using peptides that are um in a lower category, then that revenue is going to look different. So it's not five people necessarily that are doing just you know BPC 157, right? So that's that's the number for people that are looking to be in the weight loss program, um, which is the majority of people, but five people joining the weight loss program, and you have professionals that are handling that, and that's the revenue, that's incredible.

SPEAKER_01:

Now, what if you were to do 20 people a month? Oh, that number blew my mind. Blew my mind and$37,000 in one year.

SPEAKER_00:

I mean, there are people that don't even make a third of that annually.

SPEAKER_01:

That is that right there is like. I knew what a peptide was because I had to look it up before we hit play. Um, so whatever that looks like to you, even if it is just an extra$30,000 a year, why not? That's you know,$2,500 a month extra from what you're already doing. Now, if maybe you have a great Instagram following or a great brick and mortar practice, you're churning through clients like Dr. Jared is, and you're looking at more of a hundred people per month. Holy moly.$792,000. Most CEOs of businesses don't even make that. I didn't make that. It's amazing, isn't it? It's so cool what this can do because the amount of life it can change.

SPEAKER_00:

I want to say that it's not because also we're making that much money off from each person. Because if you break it down per person, that is actually, you know, it's a smaller, it's a small number. Like the referral fee that you get from doing that per person is a smaller number. But a handful of those is enough to make car payments to cover grocery bills, even if you're only doing that on a smaller level. But this is a compounded number. That's why, that's why you're seeing it because people tend to stay on peptides when they realize how they've changed their life. So these numbers, you have some people that go, of course, and you have new people that come in, but these numbers are compounding month after month after month when you're bringing new people in.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. And I want to drop a little bit of a business nugget here because when you are creating a business, like this telemedicine company is a business, you have to immediately think about how are you going to market? How are you going to sell? Okay. So this is one method of marketing and sales. Running a business myself, I needed to incorporate on standard average one-third of the cost. Let's say a client who was coming and was paying, you know,$5,500 for the program. I needed to plan on one third of that$5,500 going into the cost of bringing that client in marketing, sales. Okay. So this is just their method of bringing in clients to their business. And rather than paying out hordes and hordes of commercial money like we see on other like row.com and other modal other companies, this is the method that they chose to bring in clients. So they're not paying one third to the TV company or to Meta for ads or to Google for ads or to YouTube for ads. They're paying it to us. Meaning, we want to help more people become wealthier. We want to help more people using what we know about business change their financial future. And for me as a business owner, like that was one of my favorite things to do was to see other practitioners improve their financial status, change their financial status. So, from a business perspective, that's why they're willing to create a business model like this, and why this business model works.

SPEAKER_00:

Along that lines, when we were talking with Kinsey, she talked also about um, you know, people that might look at affiliate marketing, which listen, uh, I got involved in in this business um a little over a year and a half ago. And previous to that, my thought was yuck, no thanks, not interested, right? I was I was better than that. Oh my gosh, I was a fool because I didn't understand it. When you find that thing that resonates with you and what you're doing, run with it. Who cares? But what she said is, you know, there's a lot of people that will talk about certain structures with network marketing because what we work with is is I call it a hybrid. You've heard me say that before. It's affiliate marketing hybrid, so you can do it just straight affiliate marketing or you can build a team. Um, but if you decide to explore the team building and people will say, well, it's a pyramid scheme, which she said, well, let's look at a company like Target, and let's look at you have the owner up at the top, and underneath that you have your presidents, then your vice presidents, then your directors and your regional directors, and so on down the line, all the way to the cashiers. What does that structure look like? You have one person at the top, a couple of maybe a president or two of various things, a handful of VPs, and on down the line until you get to the point where you are thousands of cashiers. It's no different.

SPEAKER_01:

The difference is that the bottom person on the bottom of the very bottom of the totem pool within our model can make just as much money as the top person. That is super cool. Like even Kinsey dropped, you know, she's got practitioners or not even practitioners, but individuals under her who have said yes to this business opportunity, who are making more money simply selling the peptides than she is up at the top. So it doesn't matter what quote level you are at or what level you come in at. What matters is is this right for you? Do you want to join on the business opportunity because there's incredible intent uh potential? And it doesn't matter where you are placed in the quote pyramid, you have just as much potential as anybody else does to grow, yeah. And the cashiers at Target do not have the same potential as the manager of the store.

SPEAKER_00:

With some hustle, they might, but it's good, but it is different, but it is still shape-wise, same darn structure. Yeah, yeah. Well, listen, we spoke with three different women, three different backgrounds, three different stories, but one shared truth. You do not have to fit a mold to build something meaningful.

SPEAKER_01:

Carly showed us what happens when personal healing becomes purpose. Kinsey showed us what's possible when leadership meets consistency and numbers that still blow our minds. And Katie, she showed every clinician listening that you can expand your career, your freedom, and your impact while still serving people with integrity.

SPEAKER_00:

So if these stories spark something in you, curiosity, a tug, maybe this could be me kind of thought, this is your sign to follow it. And your next step is really simple. Start with the person that brought you here to listen to this podcast. They can guide you, they can walk with you, they can care about your success.

SPEAKER_01:

But if you don't have a person yet and you've just found us because you found us, you can always reach out to Jess or I directly. We work closely with a telemedicine team that values safety, reliability, proper sourcing, and patient support. This matters, your health matters, your business matters. Let's do this. Let's end this recording and then we'll just record closing again.
