Have you ever noticed your cat staring out the window for hours?

Mine did... and it made me realize something.

No toy I bought could compete with what was happening outside.

In this podcast episode of Diary of a Cat Mom, I share how I accidentally created my own version of "live Cat TV" using simple bird feeders, fresh water, and even wildflowers that appeared on their own. The best part? It doesn't have to cost a lot.

If you're looking for inexpensive ways to keep your indoor cat mentally stimulated, reduce boredom, and encourage natural hunting instincts, I hope my experience gives you a few ideas to try.

Every cat is different. I'm simply sharing what has worked wonderfully for my cats and me. ❤️🐾

Diary of a cat mum. Creating your own cat TV on a low budget. Welcome to Diary of a Cat Mum. I always watched my kitties when they were sitting on the cat trees or playing in their little cat beds, playing with their toys. And they were playing for a while. But then they were looking to find something else. A lot of times, unfortunately, they found another kitty they could stalk or annoy. So I was wondering what can I do to prevent having these and bird environment outside. They can sit there for hours. Hours and hours and hours and just watch. Because it's life. It's like life captivity. And especially in the summertime when I can have the windows open and I have a screen, they can smell it too. It was such a game changer for the cats and for me. How I could see their little brains stimulated and their natural instincts coming out. I got broadseed foods and I got peanuts. I put it out in the bird feeders outside and a little water bowl-like little water basin for the birds and the squirrels to drink from. The challenge was it attracted so many birds or squirrels. It was empty all the time. And then I had to refill it, refill it, refill it. And over time it really became pricey. But I wanted to have this live cat TV for the kitties so they would stay stimulated. So what I do now these days, for sure, having a water basin where the cats can watch the birds and the squirrels train from, that's totally entertainment then. And that really doesn't cost a lot. Like you just refill the water every day. But for the bird feeder, what really works great is having in the middle for the heaviness so the bird feeder hangs properly when the birds sit on it. The more cheaper wild bird seats in it. And then on the outside of the bird feeder, I have the nuts and the fruits and everything. So I have a variety of the small birds and the bigger birds coming, which creates a different scenario and environment every second. And then the other thing, what I figured out by accident, we have a lot of flooding outside. So the seeds, a lot of times they got into the flooded water and they started sprouting. And then the wild flowers started growing. And that additionally attracted moth and butterflies and bees. So in this way, with very little amount of money, I can give them such a rich cat enrichment and environment that they are stimulated, they are happy. And the goal of creating life quality for cats and time for cat mums is totally accomplished. I would love to hear what do you do to stimulate the little brains of your kitties? What do you do for cat enrichment so they are not bored and becoming destructive? Please share. Thank you so much for joining me in this diary of a cat mum episode. There's always another lesson, another story, another insight just ready to be shared around the corner. Watch my next video above and join me for my next entry. Bye. Hi, we all the cat mom.
