What would life be without cats? Welcome to Diary of a Cat Mum. This week I was at the bed. Originally I went there with two kitties where I thought they had cold. And then at the end it ended up that one needed life-threatening treatments right there at the bed. It totally shocked me. It came out of nowhere. And I was confronted immediately with the thought and the decision of do I want to let him go or do I want that they treat him. As they were treating him, the emotions that overcame me, the fear of losing the cat, and the emotions of not being able to give him comfort or to give him relief. To be there helpless really made me aware of like my life without cats would be so empty. My cats, they give me structure and they give me a purpose and they give me a reason to get up in the morning and they hold me accountable. Like, hey, where's my food? Clean my litter box, refresh my water, pet me, scratch me. I'm sad, you don't have enough time. I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to take care of another living being and to do the best I can do to create life quality for them. I cannot envision missing that purpose and just focusing on working and perhaps gardening, traveling, being with my friends. I love it. And it's all very fulfilling having this little living being in my life, which is depending on me and I'm responsible for and giving me so much love and just warming my heart in a way. Like in this moment at the bed, as the situation was that it was life and death just made me so aware of my emotional connection and the importance of having my cats in my life. This awareness really helps me to bring me back to what's the most important in life? Is the most important that one little one screw up and another little one fought with another one and perhaps they were not in the best mood today, or is the most important that we all live together the best life we can live? A balanced, peaceful, and a calm life. Can you envision a life without your cat or cats? I would love to hear what you think and feel about it in the comments. So thank you so much for joining me for this Diary of a Cat Mom. There's always another lesson, another story, another insight ready to be shared right around the corner.
