Hi everybody. Oh my gosh. Welcome back to the podcast. It's been a couple weeks since I've recorded, so we have so much to catch up on. I'm so excited to be recording again. I definitely could have last week, but I just really never got around to it. I don't know. I must have been busy even though I'm not really that busy, but I don't know. I'm doing it now and I'm so excited to just catch up, do a little life update. Since we last talked, I went on vacation. It was so fun. Um, I went to Punta Cana with Kenzie Campbell and Ellie, and we stayed at the Secrets Royal Beach Resort. It was amazing, like phenomenal. The place was so gorgeous. Um I mean, everything was like so clean. We felt so safe. It was super nice, like high quality. Um the pools were really fun. So there was like one big pool, honestly, just like one big main pool that pretty much everybody sat around all day. It was like huge. And then there was like a couple bars um off of there. Well, one swim up bar and then like a couple bars surrounding. And then there was a serenity pool, which was like a like a quiet pool. So you could sit at the main pool and have all the activities. And it wasn't like a it wasn't like party vibes. The whole resort was not like party vibes, um, which I'll get into, but it was just like you could sit around the pool and have like um and like watch the activities. Sorry, I'm like trying to think of what to say. Watch the activities. And then the Serenity Pool, which was my favorite, but I realized that we're on a senior spring break, so it's like maybe you shouldn't sit at the silent pool all day long and read my Kindle, but like that's what I wanted to do. But anyway, um that was like a long um, like a rectangle-shaped pool, and it had like beds, um, you know, like cabana beds on each side, two rows of them. And so we didn't go there on the first day, but I think the second day we got a place there, like a spot there, and I took a nap there. It was phenomenal. So then every day after that, I would at least spend a little bit there, like an hour or so, um, chilling, reading, being in the shade. That was the biggest thing. Like towards the end of the trip, I was like, I need to be in the shade. So I just I loved that. Like that pool, oh my gosh, it was so relaxing. I could have spent all day, every day there. Because you still got drinks delivered there, like if you wanted. So it wasn't like you were had to be like, you know, sober and like you had to be quiet, but like I loved just like sitting there reading. So yeah, it was it was great. Um, and then there was another like small pool that was like a foot deep. It was like super um shallow, but it had like chairs in it that you could lay in in the water, like half in the water, half in the sun. It was so great. The resort was great, and the beach was beautiful. We didn't actually have a full beach day. We um went there one day to plan on having a full beach day, but it was so windy that day, sadly. So sand was like sticking to us and like getting in our drinks. Like I sprayed sunscreen on myself, and I literally had sand sticking to my entire body. It was so like overstimulating. So it was fine. We just went up to the pool and then we like would walk down to the ocean if we wanted to swim in the ocean for a little bit. But the white or the sand was so white, the water was so clear. It was just oh my gosh, it was gorgeous. And yeah, I guess I like kind of jumped right into that. I kind of want to like go back and talk through the whole trip, but that was the resort. That was the resort we stayed at. Um, I was just kind of giving an overview of the resort, I guess. But we were the youngest people there um by quite a bit. There was definitely some it's definitely a place for older couples, um, which we honestly kind of knew. Like we we knew it wasn't gonna be like a party resort, which we were okay with. And because like you can still drink and have fun, and um, you know, there's still music and stuff, but it's not like raging with college kids. Like we got to actually have a little bit of downtime and relaxing. And I feel like the party hook or resorts aren't super like clean. Not that it like matters that much, but I don't know, just kind of feel a little bit icky to me. Like the water feels like uh gross and I don't know. Everything here just seems so clean and nice and like high, high quality. So anyway, we were the youngest group. There was definitely some people our age. Um, well, it wasn't only resorts or only um only resorts, only adult resorts. So you had to be 18 and like we're not that far off from 18. So we were young. There was um a couple people there that we met, not met, but um like saw that were close to our age, but they were like with their parents. So we were the only like young group. Um, but that resort also doesn't prohibit um, is that what it's called? Doesn't yeah, like doesn't allow spring breaks, like groups. Like it said that when we were booking the hotel or the resort. So we kind of knew what like vibe we were getting into, but um we met the sweetest couple. We actually met a lot of great people. Um, but like I said, it was mostly older couples, and so some of them were like, you know, maybe on their honeymoon or because there were some like definitely 20-ish um age people, and so we were like, oh, maybe on their honeymoon or whatever, because our travel agent that we worked with went on her honeymoon there. That's why I was thinking that. But some couples were like so open to like talking and meeting us. So we met two great couples. One couple, I actually I don't know if we learned their names. We we only talked to them for like a day, and then we just said hi when we saw them next. But sorry, I'm changing if you heard that clicking. I'm changing I have my heating pad on my stomach because my stomach hurts. I think I'm like allergic to avocado, which I think I've said before, but I hate guacamole tonight and my stomach like really hurts. Anyway, um, we met a couple from St. Louis that was great. Uh like they have grandkids, so like they're like, you know, a lot older than us, but then we met a couple from Buffalo, New York, Bob and Corey. Um, I don't think they'll ever hear this, but they were amazing. We um spent like every day with them. We met them on the first day, and then the very next morning um we came down and he had set out or he had saved chairs for us. We were like, you are so sweet. Because chairs like fill up fast. It was so sweet. And so we sat by them that day and talked to them in the pool and whatnot, and then we just we hung out with them every day since, and they we got to know so much about them. They're also grandparents. Um, but she was celebrating, I mean, they're pretty, pretty young still. They were she was celebrating her 61st birthday there with her husband, so um, it was great. Like they made the trip awesome. I mean, it was great, but like it was so nice to have like a couple that was kind of looking out for us and would ask us how we're doing and how our night is and you know, where we went to dinner, and they were just great. And then at the end of the trip, um they gave us a bottle of rum to take home with us because they only brought carry-ons, and so you can't bring alcohol on the plane, I guess, like outside alcohol. And so we have a bottle of rum from them, and we actually um made a couple drinks with it the other night in the apartment, and I sent them a picture of us because we like took pictures, not like we took a group picture with them. Um, and then Bob would take like our group pictures if we wanted a group picture. So he texted them to me. And um when he texted me the pictures, it was a it was the last day of our trip, and he texted them to me, and then he texted me a selfie of him and Corey and said, and here's one of us, so you never forget us. And then he was like, It was super fun hanging out with you girls, nice to meet you. You're really good kids, your parents did well, and I was like, Oh my gosh, they are so sweet. Like, I love them. So then when we and then Corey texted me too, um, about like an inside joke. We thought we there was this lady at the resort that looked like um a character off of Despicle Me. So we were like joking about it all week, and she like snuck a picture of her, and so at the end of the week she texted me a picture like a side-by-side, and she's like, I thought you would think this is funny. So uh yeah, so then the other day when we drank the rum, I sent them a picture of uh of the four of us girls with the bottle of it and said, like, you know, we opened the rum, you know, tastes great, like we're thinking of you guys or something. And Corey responded and was like, You all are so adorable. I'm like, oh my gosh, they were just the best. It's it's really like comforting for us, like having them. Like they like I said, they were like kind of like looking out for us. Like they were every day, they like knew where we were and stuff. Like it just it was nice to feel like we were being like looked out for a little bit. Not that we felt unsafe, like I said, but just that we, you know, had some older people to go to if we needed. Um, like Kenzie broke her suitcase and she asked the front desk to get um like duct tape or something to fix it. And they said they didn't have any. And so Bob like went and talked to them, and I don't know if he Bob then gave Kenzie duct tape. I don't know if he got it from the front desk or if he had it for some reason, like if they traveled with it for some reason. I feel like they wouldn't, but I remember him being like, I'll try to figure something out for you. And then he got her duct tape. Like, I don't know, they were just great. So I might no, I probably shouldn't. I was gonna say I might post like a picture of them on my long story longer Instagram and be like, here's Bob and Croy, but they they I probably shouldn't post a picture of them if they like don't know that I'm doing it, but they were great. Um, okay, now I'm just gonna kind of like literally go day by day and I'll try not to ramble too long. I'll try to just make it concise, but and tell some funny stories along the way. But yeah, or not funny stories, but like memories. So we left on a Thursday and stayed the night in Minneapolis because our flight left at 8 a.m. the next day. And we had been seeing some TikToks of like Minneapolis airport spring break. So we didn't really know what to prepare for, but it was so fast. Like plus it was like early in the morning. Like we went we went through security at probably 6 a.m. or even yeah, probably 6 a.m. So we were early and it was completely fine. And then we got there on Friday afternoon. We changed right into swimsuits, went down and had a drink. I had my first drink um in a couple months, and I say a couple months because you guys know I wasn't supposed to drink on the 75 Hard Challenge, but I did drink one night here in Ames back in January, um, like when I first got to school. So it was it had been like two months. So I had my first drink. What did I even have? Oh, a strawberry mojito. It was so good. It was literally just a mojito with like a little bit of strawberry, like frozen strawberry daiquiri in it. But hey, it was phenomenal. Um, so that was fun. And that night we didn't really do much because we we got there at like four, so we hung out at the pool for like 30 minutes, maybe an hour. Um, oh my god, that was the night. We right when we got there, we were sitting on the edge of the pool having like a snack. Like they have uh poolside food, like french fries, burgers, whatever. And we were sharing a plate of food, and two of us were in the pool and two of us were sitting on chairs, and these two guys hammered out of their mind. At least one of them. Well, not both of them were, and like they're just like weird, like like sleazy looking, like well, not to be rude. They're they're like in tattoos, like tattoos, and that doesn't make a person sleazy, but I don't know, the the vibe, they're just like greasy, like the vibe of them was just not good. And it was two guys by themselves, and they were probably in their 40s, like late 40s. And they came up to us and like, hey, and we're like, hi, what's your names? Whatever. I don't even know if we told him our names because he just was like, My name's whatever, and we're like, okay. Uh he asked where we were from, and which is like a common question, like, you know, at a resort. We said Iowa, and he said he's from Jersey. He's like, I'm from dirty Jersey, and we're like, okay, you are dirty, so leave us alone, please. And then he started getting like he started like trying to like twerk in our faces. Like he was so disgusting. And we were like, Okay, okay, okay, like stop, stop, like you're being weird. And we were like, first we were laughing, and then we were like, okay, this is getting weird. And then his friend was like, Come on, like, let's go, let's go. And I was like, Okay, listen to your friend. But then his friend was like, gave up, I guess, and sat down next to us and just started striking up a conversation, like, oh, what how are you guys doing? And I'm like, No, no, no, you're not sitting down for conversation. Like, get your friend, both of you, and leave, please. And they like wouldn't stop. Like, Kenzie said she was about to push him in the pool, like, because he was like on the edge of the pool, like talking, like just being so weird and I don't know. And anyway, what was his name? It was something like his nickname, like Boogie or Boogie, or no, Boogie. His friend told us his name is Boogie, his nickname. We were like, okay. Anyway. Um, it then they wouldn't stop, so they wouldn't leave us alone. So Kenzie went and got a worker and was like, Can you tell them to like leave us alone? And the worker does not understand. For Kenzie said it probably three different times, like trying to slow it down and be like, get him away. Like, they need to leave. And finally he understood. Actually, no, he didn't. The friend saw her doing that and was like, Okay, okay, Boogie, they're getting the worker. Like, let's go. We need to go. So that happened in like, and then they did, and then we saw them again the next day. Actually, we saw them at the bar that night, and we turned around and went the other way. We darted the other way because we were like, we are not, we are not talking to them again. Then we saw them the next morning, and they like didn't even look at us, like they probably didn't even remember. I don't know, but then I didn't see them again, so they must have left, so thank god. But that happened in the first like hour of us being there, and I was like, this is gonna be fun, but nothing like that really happened again. Um, but yeah, that was our first day. And then we went to dinner that night at a an Asian place. We we ate at the resort every night. That place was bad. Honestly, actually, we had a pork bao bun, I think that's how you say it. It's an appetizer, and it was so good. It tasted like a funnel cake, like it with like Asian like meat inside. I don't know. It was honestly really good, but I got chicken pad thai as my entree, and it was terrible. Like it it was the worst meal I had there. And then I just ordered another because we got a bow bun for like an appetizer, so we all like had a bite, and then I just ordered another one for myself to like have for dinner, but that was the first night. Pretty chill. Wait, I'm trying to think we did anything else that night, but I don't think we did. And then the next day we oh, the next day I got up early to go put chairs out. So I got up at like six and the sun was coming up and it was like quiet and birds were chirping, and um it was amazing. And was that the day that Bob put up chairs for us anyway? No, no, that was this okay, so he put up chairs for us the second day, and we also put chairs, and then we were like, oh, I guess we didn't have to because Bob did it for us, but um, that day was fun. We sat by the pool, I spent the morning reading, and then we started, you know, doing our thing. Just I mean, like we didn't really do much, like we literally just sat by the pool. But that day is when we met the workers who became like our friends. So, like I said, the resort was mostly like young people or sorry, mostly older people. So the people our age were the like entertainment staff of the resort, and so their job is simply to put on the activities and get people to um like participate in them. So we became friends with them. Um, and it was a group of probably well, they have a they have quite a few people, probably like 10 workers, but we became like friendly with um a few specifically. And so we uh got pulled into doing an obstacle course on the beach. This was at like 11 a.m. on our first day. Like, and I was like, what are we doing? Like I was I didn't want to, it was just gonna be, I think it was just gonna be Kenzie and Campbell, and Ellie and I were gonna watch, and then they were like our friend Junior was Junior was our like main friend, and then um the rest of them had like funny nicknames. So we were friends with chocolate, we were friends with hot coffee, we were friends with Mr. Fire. Um, those were their like nicknames because I think their names must be like harder for Americans to pronounce or something. So they have nicknames, but Junior's real name is Junior, so if you ever go to Secrets Royal Beach, say hi to say hi to the crew for for us. Um but anyway, so he was like, come on, girls, like we're going to do oh, and Michael J. I couldn't forget about Michael J. Sorry, I'm looking at my camera roll to remember what we did. So, and I just saw a picture of my Michael J photo-bombed our our group picture. Um anyway, we got pulled into this obstacle course. He's like, Come on, girls, we're going to the beach, and we're like, for what? And he's like, just come with us, and we're like, okay. And we had to run across these inflatables and then jump over these inflatable hurdles, and then climb up and jump over this inflatable wall, and then climb up a rope, ding a ring a bell at the top, and then run back. Like run on the each, like my word is nightmare. So we did it. So they were like, we need more people. So Ellie and I were like, okay, we got forced into doing it. And it was a team, like relay race. There was like all these people out of us. It was a team of probably like 10 people on each team. And Ellie and I are the cabooses for each team. So we basically like we determined the whole race. And I was like, Ellie, like, I'm so scared. Like, I like I'm gonna embarrass myself. The thing about me is like something like this, like, I knew I was going to embarrass myself somehow, some way, athletic jumping, running things, especially in like a bikini on a beat. Like, that is not something that I should be doing or that I want to be doing, okay? And lo and behold, the first obstacle I go across, I fall on my knees. Um, go to my TikTok to see that video. Ellie actually fell too, which makes me feel better, but she fell at a different spot. So I fall jumping over the hurdles, and my knees go inward, like I'm like, well, yeah, inward. And I fall right on my knees. It hurt. You know what? It's been what, like a week and a half. I still have a like a scratch on my knee from falling on the sand. And what sucks is that was the first day, and the rest of the trip that I went in the ocean, the salt burned my knee. It sucked. Um, I lost to Ellie. We both fell, um, but she must have like run fat run back faster than me, which is not surprising. And I lost. So sorry, Team Pina Colada. It was Team Pina Colada versus Team Margarita, and I was on pina colada. So that was our first day. And then we got room service as an appetizer that night, and then went to dinner at Mexican. Honestly, that one night was just like, eh. Well, the food at Mexican wasn't great. And then the food got better as we went on. The food at Mexican wasn't great, and then um we just went to bed. Kenzie well, Ellie and soup stayed down at the bar, but Kenzie and I went up to bed like pretty early, which I was totally okay with because something about the Sun, oh my God. So tiring. Like, why does the sun make you so exhausted? Anyway, but we went to Kenzie and I went to bed early, and I woke up the next day feeling so good. Honestly, the our what was it, our second full day there? Yeah, our Sunday. That day was amazing. I think it's because I'm looking at my camera roll. And I think it's because I like felt really cute that day. So that just, you know, look good, feel good, right? And Kenzie and I started the day at the Serenity Pool because we had just discovered it the day before. Reading, drinking water, like it was just so relaxing. Oh, I literally don't have any pictures from that day except reading at the pool in the morning and then my dinner outfit that night. So I don't remember what we did, but wait, yes, I do. Sunday was like our chill day. Like, honestly, I don't know if any of us like even drank. Well, I'm sure we did drink, but it was just like a chill Sunday. There was like no one there. I think people must have left on Saturday and were coming in on Monday or something. Sunday was like so calm and quiet. It was amazing. And then it picked back up again on Monday and Tuesday. But yeah, that night we ate at the like American restaurant there. And it was so good. So I got what did I get? Something that was like fine, but not amazing. I can't remember because I know that Ellie and Campbell got the ribeye. And I tried their food. And oh wait, I got barbecue ribs or something. Or yeah, okay, it doesn't matter. Something like barbecue. And it was like good, but not like blow your socks off. But their ribeye was incredible. So we did that. Um sorry, I'm um trying to think what else we did that night. Oh my gosh. How can I forget? That night is the night we went to the silent disco. Guys, they had a silent disco. I've never been to one. I don't think any of the other girls had either. It was so fun. So and it's all okay, it's fun because everybody's doing it. You know, like if when when you take your headphones off and look at the people doing it, you're like, what the hell is going on? Like this looks so weird. But when everybody's doing it, it's actually so fun. So they had a table handing out a pair of headphones, and each pair of headphones um was the same, but it you could switch between a red, green, or a blue light, and like your light which on the side, and each one was a different song. So one was like always in Spanish, one was like, you know, a an American pop song, like party in the USA or something like that, and then one was like a different, I don't know, different song. And so you could kind of look around and see what other people were listening to, and then go to the same song as them. And I don't know, it was honestly really fun. I that um the theme that night for the uh like entertainment, so each night had a different like show, and that night there wasn't a show, it was just like retro night. So they like brought in an event crew and they did a ton of stuff, so there was the silent disco. And then you know one of those like what's it called? You know how the glam bot like on red carpets like moves a camera in a really like fast motion and gets like a slow-mo picture. Well, they had one of those kind of that's kind of the vibe of it, like just to picture it, but it was um a video. So we all stood on this like circle with our silent disco thing on, and we were on like this little dance floor circle, and we put our phone on a moving like tripod, and it followed us around, and we're we were like dancing in the video. I don't know, I I might post it on the Instagram, it's hard to like imagine, but we did that, and then that is the night we also walked over to the other resort. So there was a resort that was connected to ours that was all ages, so ours was adults only, and that one was all ages, but you could go between both. Well, they couldn't bring the kids over to ours, but if you were an adult, you could go over to both, and they just have like different restaurants, different nightlife, um, you know, just a new like area, new pools and whatever. So we actually walked over there that night just to see what it was all about, see if we wanted to spend um a day there or so. But it was fun. It was the night that the Dominican Republic and USA was playing baseball. So that was crazy because obviously we were in the Dominican Republic and like most people there are Americans, and they were playing the baseball game, and the I swear to god, the whole resort was in that like area watching the game. And everyone was cheering. Like it was a really I didn't follow the like baseball tournament or what was it called? The world world cup or no, that's soccer. What was it called? I don't know, it doesn't matter. And it was really fun. So let's go to the next day, our third day, our second to last day. What did we do that day? Oh, that day we drank the rainbow. So if you don't know what that means, you have a drink of every color in the rainbow. So red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple is what we did. And it was really fun. That was the morning we tried to go to the beach and we had two drinks there. We had, I'm gonna try to remember what our drinks were. So the red one was a strawberry daiquiri, the orange one was a mango tango, which that was probably my favorite drink of the trip. It was so good. I I think it was just like frozen mango and um frozen like strawberry daiquiri, maybe, but some bartenders made it different. I don't know. Um, for red, orange, yellow. Yellow, we had a pina colada. Green, we had just a mojito because it has mint leaves in it, so it's green. Green, blue, blue. We had a blue Hawaiian, which is like blue carousel. Is that how you say it? Yeah, carousel, um, and pineapple juice, I think. They're all like really sweet, obviously. That's what you get at a resort. And then purple was purple rain. We still to this day have no clue what was in a purple rain, but it was so good. So we drank the rainbow, so we started at the beach, then we went to the main pool, and then we went to the serenity pool. Actually, Kenzie and I went over to the serenity pool, and Campbell and Ellie stayed at the main pool. We just kind of um like split up for a little bit. And Kenzie and I did a meditation. What is happening? Sorry, something just popped up on my computer. Kenzie and I did a meditation sound bath. It was amazing. Okay, so we were laying at the serenity pool, and this, like, you know how sound bath music sounds like like, um, and it's like all these different, I don't know, relaxing sounds. And we got approached by our friends, the workers, and they were like, hey, we're having a meditation in like five minutes, you guys should come. And we're like, uh, that is right, that is literally right up Kenzie and I's alley. Like, yes, count us in. So we went over there, we laid in the grass. Well, we laid on a mat in the grass, and she played her like noise and was talking through us like being grounded and taking breaths and stuff. And then it started to rain, it started to sprinkle. There was probably like seven of us or eight of us doing this, and it started to sprinkle, and Kenzie like sits up and looks around, like, we we're gonna leave. And I was like, and the instructor just like looked at Kenzie, like, what are you doing? And I looked at her and I was like, lay back down. She's like, Okay. So she lays down, then it starts to pour. And so she's the the instructor honestly didn't say anything. She wasn't like, okay, everybody, go. Because it honestly was pretty relaxing, like it's like a hot rain, like it's hot outside and it rains, it feels really good. It was kind of like a vibe with the meditation, but it started to like actually pour that we couldn't just lay there anymore. So we picked up our towels and and our phones and stuff or like laying out. So we ran over to our bed that we were at, the serenity pool, and covered up our stuff. And then Campbell and Ellie and I like danced in the rain, which I have a video of, and it was so fun. Like, honestly, it was just like I don't know another word, just like a vibe. Like palm trees, it's hot, but it's pouring on us. It was amazing. And I think what's funny is I have a screenshot. So uh Campbell and Ellie like were at the other pool having drinks, and she was like, come over to the main pool or whatever. And Kenzie responded and said, We're doing a meditation sound bath. And Campbell screenshotted it and put a picture of like her and Ellie and was like, There are two different kinds of people on vacation. It is just like so true because like those girls were all like you know, they don't have a Kindle, like Kenzie and I are so like grandma, like Kindle meditation, and those girls are like, Can we like drink by the pool? Or no, I don't know, it was funny. Um that night we went to hibachi for dinner. We had a 9-15 reservation, so we got room service at like five or six to have like a snack because like all the food and drinks are unlimited, so it's like might as well. So we did that, and then we had hibachi with a a couple and then a big bridal group, um, like the bride and the groom, and then her parents, and then um, like some of their friends that were there. So that was fun. The we had the whole place to ourselves, like they must not do dinner reservations, only hibachi reservations that late. But that food was good. We had um chicken, steak, and shrimp, and then obviously rice and veggies. So yeah, the food got better as the days went on, like I said. I think we like figured out what to order or something. I don't know. And then that night was the first night that their nightclub was open for like in the first night that it was open in like months. So of course the workers had told us nightclub's open tonight, you know, come, we'll be there, whatever. And it was super fun. Well, I wouldn't say super fun, actually. It wasn't like club vibes. It's like there's an open dance floor that like everyone was scared to go on, and everyone's kind of just standing around, like, yeah, and like the lights were on. I don't know, not that it has to be like dark, but like it wasn't like club vibes. But the one thing about the workers there is they're gonna dance. Like, we figured out not figured out, but like those people, the girls and the guys, they just dance all day, every day, and it's it's they're like really good dancers, so it's like honestly like satisfying to watch. It's not like they look awkward. Oh, Nate's calling me. Hey, I'm still recording. Well, um, can I call you back in like 10 minutes? 15 minutes? Okay. Okay, bye. Um yeah, they were really good dancers, and so like I'm looking at my camera roll and I have videos of them just dancing. Like, if no one was gonna dance, they were gonna dance, and then they'd try to get you to be like, um, come on the dance floor and dance. Like, yeah, I don't know. It was fun. Sorry, I feel like this is getting a bit like long-winded, like repetitive. Then then okay, our last day, I promise. Our last day was St. Patty's Day. So it was a party. That was the first day that it was like, oh, we're actually partying. It was it was really which honestly kind of sucked because it was our last day. So all of us were like, we can't get like we can't have too many drinks. Um, I mean, we could, but then the airplane would be like miserable the next day, but it was still really fun. And like I said, the we were already friends with like the workers, and so he came up, Kenzie and I have a picture. He came up to us that morning in a full leprechaun suit. What was his name again? We weren't really like friends with him. Oh, Joshua. So he has like a Americanized name. And yeah, he was dressed in a full leprechaun, and then later in the day, all of them came out dressed in full leprechaun suits, and they set up like this big stage at the pool and um had like green drinks and stuff, so it was fun. And then here's a crazy story. So at the pool that day, all of them were up. I'll post this video too. All of them were up on the like stage, and I'm telling you, like, everyone is watching, okay? Everyone's like watching them dance, watching the show, hanging out in the pool. The pool is dyed green, and one of the workers, which one was it? It wasn't one that we were like super Oh, it was Mr. Fire. Okay, Mr. Fire. He we were like by the edge of the pool, kind of, and he's like, Hey, senior tech, come here. I'm like, okay. I go over and he's like, he like bends down to me and he's like, in like five minutes, come up and push me in the water. And I'm like, what like none of the workers are swimming, like they're all in full leprechaun suits, like hat, pants, like shoes, everything. And I'm like, what? He's like, yeah, like come push me in. And I'm like, are you sure? Is that like okay? And he's like, Yeah, I'm telling you. And I was like, are people gonna think I'm crazy? And he was like, No. And I'm like, yes, everyone in this pool's gonna be like, is this girl hammered? Like, she can't just push this guy in. She can't just push this worker in. Like, what is she doing? So I was like scared, honestly. I was like, can one of you guys do it? And they were like, No. I'm like, okay. So I was like honestly getting like anxious because I was like, What? Like, I can't just push you in. I don't know. I was getting scared of like what other people were gonna think. But then he looks at me and gives me like a nod, and Kenzie's like, okay, you gotta go. And I was like, oh, I'm scared. But something like came over me and I was like, okay, I'm not just gonna like go up to him and like two-hand push him in in front of everyone. Like, that would be weird. So I went up and I started dancing next to them and like pretending like I was trying to like learn their dance move and like follow along. And then I turned around and like hip bumped him into the pool, and he like made a big scene, like flailing his arms and falling in, and all the workers like I think they knew it was happening, so they were like, Oh my gosh. And then people in the pool were definitely like, the fuck. And so I got scared and I went to the side of the pool and I was like, he told me to do that. I don't know if people were looking at me or not, but then I had two people come up to me. Well, no, I had one person come up to me and was like, that was awesome. And I'm like, thanks, he told me to do it. And then I had another person come up to me that was like, um, it wasn't uh Bob and Corey, but it was our other like St. Louis couple that we met. I don't remember their names, or I don't think we knew their names. And he's like, I saw you earlier. That you were like not like you were bad or something, and I was like, what? And he's like, you pushed the worker in the pool, and I was like, oh my gosh, no, he told me to do that. And he's like, he did? I'm like, yes, I didn't do that. Like, I didn't do that just on a whim, just by my own choice. But yeah, it was it was funny. And then after that, like all the workers jumped in and like swam around. So I think it was fun for them. And then our last night, we went back to the place with the Americ like the American food, and all of us got the ribeye. It was so good. Um, yeah, and then we went, oh no, we didn't go to the nightclub that night. That night there was just like a St. Patty's show, so they just had like acrobats and dancers come out and like perform in like green costumes, and then the the stage just kind of turned into like a dance floor, and we just like danced, you know, we did they do like the cha-cha slide, the cupid shuffle, like all those group dances, and said goodbye to the workers that we became friends with. There was this dance. This night was like so weird. There was a like a 10-foot-tall polar bear, like literally in a costume, and then there was also a guy on stilts, like just like randomly. It was like there were just like characters coming out. I don't know, it was odd. And yeah, oh, all the workers were up there, and then one of the girls like pulled me up, and it was just me and all of them. I kid you not, and there's like a big crowd of people watching, and we were dancing to sexy, and I know it. And I'm like the most awkward stiff person. Like, you do not want to see me try and dance next to these people specifically who like their job is to like dance and entertain. Oh my god, the video like makes me want to die. I'm like, why? Why did she choose me? Like, no, I don't know how to move my body like like they do. But yeah, um, and then we we went to the casino one night, but I can't remember which night it was, and I didn't oh wait, yes, I did bet, but I only bet like$2 on a slot machine. Kenzie lost$2 and or$20 in two spins, so she felt like shit about that. Um But yeah, it was great. It was it was really fun. Um trying to think if there's anything else. Oh, we left the next day and um getting home was a little harder. The Pundakana Air Airport was like not fun. First of all, it wasn't air conditioned, then second of all, our flight took off an hour late, which honestly isn't bad. But we were like standing there with all these other people hot, just like ready to go home, hungry, tired. Like I think I was asleep before the plane even took off when we got on the plane. Like, I don't remember it taking off. So I definitely was asleep. And I don't know, I don't need to get into all that, but it it just we left an hour late, we were ready to be on there. And then when we got back to Minneapolis, first of all, it was freezing, of course, because that was the week of like the big snowstorm, especially in Minneapolis, and then the line to do like customs or immigrations or whatever it's called back into the United States took a while, and we were so hungry again, and we wanted to go. Where do we want to go? We wanted to go, oh, to a Chick-fil-a that was right by the airport, but it closed in like wait, no, I lied, I lied, I lied. We did end up going to that, it did close in like five minutes, but we were like, we don't care, we're still going and seeing if they'll give us food. And they did. So we ate and then drove back to Ames. I remember falling asleep at Clear Lake, and I literally woke up when we pulled into our parking spot here, and I slept like so good for that like hour and a half or two hours or whatever it is. I was like, oh my gosh, we're already back. Like, dang, I slept hard. But it was like 11 p.m. So yeah. And then I got back and um then we went out for Campbell's birthday a couple days later, so that was fun. We went to the stuffed olive in downtown Des Moines and then went to a couple bars. It's just me and her and Kenzie and then her two sisters joined us for um dinner. And then I spent the weekend at home with my family. That was fun. And watched Iowa State win until, you know, this past weekend, which we won't talk about. And then came back to Ames and had a full week of school. Although my schedule's pretty easy now. I've just been doing some class, doing some homework, working. My shrimp job is going great. And I actually have a call for that in the morning. I need to go to bed soon. It's already 11:15. But you guys know I always record at night. So yeah. Um, I don't know what else. I mean, I could ramble on about more life updates, but I honestly don't think anything crazy has happened. Um, we just got back today from Forest City. We were uh the five of us went up and stayed with my grandma and did our annual. My family goes to her house every spring to do like a spring cleaning. Um, and it's just like stuff that she can't do really. Like she keeps the house tidy and stuff. It's not like we have to go and like vacuum and scrub the floors. Like, it's not like that. We're like outside working, cutting down and trimming like bushes, um, laying mulch down and stuff. So all five of us went and did that, and we just got back this afternoon. And now I'm just gearing up for another week. So yeah. Um, I don't know what else. I'm gonna stop it here. I'm gonna call Nate back and go to bed soon. But I hope you enjoy this little life update slash spring break update. I feel like I'm forgetting some things, but that's okay. I definitely um had a good enough recap. So I hope you enjoyed. I'll talk to you next time. I think I'm gonna do a listener like write in one because I think those are fun and I have a um good idea for a prompt. So yeah, well, I won't keep you any longer. Have a good week and I will talk to you next time. Bye.
