The besties are back with a jam-packed episode. Emily and Lauren recap the Summer House season finale that lowkey felt like a series finale(yes, Lauren cried) and unpack the explosive reunion trailer. Lauren shares her newest TV obsession, Off Campus, while Emily gets into Widow’s Bay—romance and horror are SO BACK BABY. We also discuss why we know longer ride for Mary Beth Barone, the latest male loser on TV, Danny Booko from The Valley, and why he’s awful. In Table Scraps, we cover Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt’s breakup, Jacob Elordi and Kendall Jenner’s PR relationship, Taylor Swift’s chronically bad style, and Avery Woods doxxing someone on TikTok.
0:00 - Summer House Season Finale and Reunion Trailer
SPEAKER_06I'm Lauren and I'm Emily. And we're Midwest besties.
SPEAKER_03Like we've had some of the best memories, but also some of the absolute worst. And I feel like leaving here this weekend, like I wanna close that chapter and like start over, whatever that looks like for us.
SPEAKER_07I just don't know what to do. I'm scared.
SPEAKER_03Me too. And that's why, like, something has to be different.
SPEAKER_04Hi, everybody. Hello. Emily and I just concluded watching the Summer House season 10 finale together. I just watched Lauren silently crypto through the last 20 minutes. My sad little sniffles.
SPEAKER_06I was like, are you okay, Daniel Kleenex?
SPEAKER_04It was just really sad. I'm also on the first day of my period. It was really depressing. It was really sad. I wasn't expecting to go out on such a low note. I don't know why. We should have expected I should have expected it.
SPEAKER_06Like I don't know if it was like the giant ass ice coffee that I drank while we watched it, but like I had a horrible stomach ache watching it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It was so anxiety. She had to get up and make a piece of toast at one point. She's like, my stomach hurts so bad.
SPEAKER_06Needless to say, we are not okay.
SPEAKER_04We're not doing well. Who could do well after watching that? I just like for me, like being in a marriage, like being in a long-term relationship, and like watching two people who I know we know what we know about Amanda now, and she's a piece of shit in all of that. But like trying to compartmentalize a little bit, like it's just so fucking sad.
SPEAKER_06It brought me back there. Like it brought me because I think there has been this like blind rage at Amanda because everything that has come out has been so unflattering. Yes. But her back there, kind of standing her ground, was really inspirational to watch. I know.
SPEAKER_04I just wish she would have like it's just this whole idea of her being like, I need time alone to figure it out. And then she immediately like jumps into Wes's bed, and it's like that's not gonna solve anything. Like you are so you are very codependent, like you are so, so extremely insecure, and those are things that you need to work on.
SPEAKER_06It was honestly like finding out that her biggest nightmare of like, who am I without Kyle, and kind of being nervous of finding out who that person is and have it in fact be her worst nightmare, like be the worst version of herself.
SPEAKER_04Totally. Totally.
SPEAKER_06I hate that, and this is why this show is will go down in history as one of the greatest reality shows of all two person.
SPEAKER_04Because these people are so multifaceted, and they're real friends, like when Sierra and Amanda, like everybody there seemed to just be this like air of like when the summer was ending, like things were gonna change. Yeah, whether that was like because the summer was so great in so many ways, but it was also really hard in so many ways. It was like everybody had this sense, like I literally had chills watching it, of like we're closing the door to something that's never gonna be the same again.
SPEAKER_06Especially Amanda, like Amanda, even at that last party, was like, I just want to jump, I just want everybody jump in the pool. And like her telling Jesse, like, it's never gonna be how it is, like in this house. And I think she was definitely, I wonder if she thought to herself, like, I'm not coming back to this house.
SPEAKER_04Because she knew Kyle and her were gonna be. I know. So it was just like it was sad. It was sad to watch Sierra and Mia like do what they've been doing all summer and like pump Amanda up and support her to the point where they were like all in tears and then knowing what um what Amanda then does to Sierra and to everybody, really.
SPEAKER_06Can we move? Are we ready to move on to the West and Sierra of it all?
SPEAKER_04Oh my god, we uh we what it was so gross. That's why I had to make the pizza toast. I mean, her yeah, that's real, but like we it was crazy, like when we were watching it and he was like having this conversation with Ben on like the Ski Mountain, and he's like, make sure Sabrina, like when we're the four of us are together, she's not like pushing for Sierra and I to be a couple because like I should have just said that I wasn't ready to be a boyfriend like two summers ago, and we could have avoided all of this mess. And Emily was like, he is rewriting history, he is.
SPEAKER_00I know what happened when I tried dating her casually, and I really her up.
SPEAKER_04Like Sierra was so so clear about what she wanted, and it was I'm not just somebody who's gonna sleep with you, I'm a serious person, and I want a relationship. Yeah, she's like a relationship. Yeah. And until you're willing to like truly commit with me, like I'm not giving all of myself to you. And like, guess what? He like committed to her, air quotes. And then like he but he really didn't, like his intentions were probably just to like, I don't, I don't even know.
SPEAKER_06I think he wanted to have a fuck buddy, yeah, and I think he likes to like bring people back to meet his parents, but he doesn't want to commit to them in any emotional way. It's all he's a good time, he's a good time girl. He is oh my god, a hundred percent a good time girl. Yeah, okay. Mia says this line where she's like, I went in this summer, I went in this summer not really wanting to like West. Of course, but he's so funny and he's so charming, and he's such a good person. And I just want to like say this out like on a platform right now. Being charming and being fun does not equal being a good person. Right. Like, uh we need to make sure we're differentiating those two things because I West has never, nor has he, I don't think, ever claimed to be a good person, but you're reading that into a charming and funny man.
SPEAKER_04100%. And I just think that like what we've seen from West, it's like part of being a good person is like saying no to yourself and like saying, like, I'm not gonna do, like, I'm not just gonna like give in to my like hedonism, you know, and just do what I want at the expense of like other people's feelings, other people's like values. Like he, if he was a good person that first summer with Sierra, he would have immediately been like, I am not, I don't, I'm not interested in being in a relationship, and you are, and like our priorities are different, so like I have to recuse myself.
SPEAKER_06And he didn't do that. And now knowing what he knows now, without a doubt, being high on his own supply and a lot of booger sugar. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04This party had many definitions, guys, because it was crazy, like they all had this like crazy party skiing party. This is the summer of cocaine. Oh my god, poor Carl. I don't know how he's doing this. Oh my god. Yeah, because then they all like get ready and they're going out. And I was like, How do they have the stamina for this? And I was like, Oh, it's cocaine. Emily's like, that stamina has a name, girl. And I'm like, you're right. They're allegedly all alleged. They're all uh wink wink skiing.
SPEAKER_06I just cannot believe the way he has that conversation with Ben, which is like drawing boundaries. This is what I'm not ready for. Good for you. This that's no problem. And then a mere eight hours later of solid drinking and not going to sleep, they make out.
SPEAKER_04They're making out. It was so gross to watch. Like we watched it, of course. Like we saw that on the trailer from last week, like for the trailer for this week. So, like, we saw this, them making out like five times, and then they they came back from the break, and you know, they do like the little recap scene, and Emily and I both were like, we cannot watch this again, and like put our hands up because it was just we both like turned away from the television. We were it was like we just can't do this anymore.
SPEAKER_06And the world Sierra is getty, like it's rough to watch like literally a musical setting in the morning where she sees Wes jump in the pool and flings open the windows to say good morning. Like, this girl is down bad. She's down so bad, and it is hard to watch.
SPEAKER_04It's so hard to watch, like it's embarrassing. And I don't even want to say that that loud. Like, it's so embarrassing.
SPEAKER_06Luckily, no, it's we can just we can just so embarrassing for Sarah was embarrassing. Luckily, she has Mia who has got her back in the most the way this is a masterclass in being a friend of someone who's making the stupid decision the way that you don't go too hard on them, right, but you also don't like fluff them up totally support these choices like you.
SPEAKER_04She brought her back down to earth a little bit. Yes, and I think Jesse Solomon was doing that. Like Jesse Solomon and Mia were like human personifications of a sigh. They were just like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_06Jesse Solomon didn't have this on my bingo card. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Started off the season so poorly.
SPEAKER_06His confessionals so good.
SPEAKER_04Have been so good. Came out smelling like roses. Oh my god. Really amazing. Jesse, don't fuck this up.
SPEAKER_06Please don't. My god, the crying. The crying. We'll talk about it later.
SPEAKER_04We have to. Okay, but so we should back up in the episode a little bit. Number one thing I do want to address is Sabrina and the chokers. And like, what's going on?
SPEAKER_06You know the like fairy tale story of like the girl with the ribbon around her neck, right?
SPEAKER_04No. What? Does her head fall off if it unties? Yes. I said she was like Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's like she's stitched together. Like, what are we?
unknownThat's what she said.
SPEAKER_06I was like, who's Sally? I knew you didn't know, and I'm like, I'll explain it later. It's like some like brother's grim, like creepy fairy tale where it was like, why don't you ever tell why don't you ever have the ribbon untied around your breath? So weird. And like she like gets married and then he unties it right now. I'm sure it was a way to like make sure women like didn't have sex before marriage. I'm sure.
SPEAKER_04100%. It all comes back to virginity always. I like look, Sabrina's getting a lot of hate, and I don't, I'm not hating on her. I do think she's a fucking weirdo. I mean, she's a total fucking weirdo. Am I excited about Ben? Not any more, like, no, he and Sabrina are like they can have each other.
SPEAKER_06Get him off my screen.
SPEAKER_04Get him banned. I mean, he watched Okay, so he also said I love you for the first time to her, and then she just like kept saying, I love you, and I wanted to die.
SPEAKER_06I mean, she she is like a she's so cringy. She is like a character in like a like frat comedy. Totally. Where like, oh man, I'm gonna get this girl. She's so hot, but that bitch is crazy.
SPEAKER_04I mean, it's wedding crashers where she like wakes up.
SPEAKER_06He like wakes up with her staring down on her, being like, I love you.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yes, yes. Uh okay, what else happened in this episode that we need to talk about? Oh, Lindsay and Carl have this DH conversation that was seemed to go very well, where she like got to just like very calmly, you know, it took two years, but like air her grievances and Carl to just like he really just validated her.
SPEAKER_06And Lindsay, and I'm sure she's done it before, but I uh maybe I'm just like not remembering correctly. Lindsay has never articulated her issues with Carl like this before. I feel like when I look at like the Lindsay and Carl relationship, it's like Carl's therapized and like not punching back, and like Lindsay's getting her digs in with her like freedom lunches and whatever, and he's just like, I'm not, I'm not doing it, I'm not doing it, I'm not doing it. But Lindsay brought up a really good point where Carl just wanted them to be friends almost immediately after. Yeah, he broke off, he broke up with her on television and called off their wedding. Like jilted her, had full conversations on camera about how he wasn't ready to get married, and she had no, according to her, had no knowledge of this.
SPEAKER_04I will say, like, they were their relationship was in a really bad place. And so awful. I don't want to give her too much credit here of saying like Lindsay was totally blindsided. I think Lindsay was blindsided because she's delusional, which is part of like why she's such a great reality star.
SPEAKER_06What do you mean? We're just like locking, like I'm just locked in a bathroom because I'm scared of you. And we're like fighting, and I'm like, but we're gonna go down the aisle.
SPEAKER_04Right, exactly. Like they should like Carl did the absolute right thing in breaking up with her and not getting married. I don't and and whatever you want to say about how he went about it, I don't know if there's a right way to go about that because she Lindsay is who Lindsay is, and she would never have just accepted that. Um, but I do think that and Emily said this, she was like, this is the most right Lindsay has ever been about like their relationship during that conversation. And I think just like Carl's mom coming up to her at soft bar, like I think it was weird. Like there was like Carl's mom can fuck all the way off. I just like I don't know what she was trying to accomplish there. It was like weird. She was like trying to joke with Lindsay almost, and Lindsay was just not having it. And I just like I kind of got it. I'm like, this is so uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_06It was awful. I hate when Carl's mom is on my screen. I know.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. Sorry, Sharon. I just I'm not sure. And I'm sorry, Carl. I hate your mom. I love Carl.
SPEAKER_06But she is sinister, and I like think a lot of your instruments are stemmed from probably her mothering.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I will just never forget when she said Lauren Workers would think I thought I would be a great mother-in-law. Like this so weird.
SPEAKER_06How dare you?
SPEAKER_04Don't invoke the workist twins. You can't speak their name more than you invoke the workist twins. Like, how that is insane. So, yeah, but it was a great conversation. It seemed like they got to a good place. Carl apologized, and it seemed to end on a high note, which made me so happy.
SPEAKER_06And we needed it this episode. Damn. Damn, we really needed it.
SPEAKER_04Anything else in the episode?
SPEAKER_06No, I think we were just gearing up for in the city.
SPEAKER_04I mean So we watched like the first 10 minutes of it. So we we saw this like really heartbreaking conversation between Kyle and Amanda where she was like, okay, like we're gonna take time apart. I'm gonna check into a hotel and I'll meet you at therapy. And then the episode basically ends, and it felt like a finale, like a series finale.
SPEAKER_06It was literally like Kyle looking around the empty house and closing the door. Oh my god, like my panestyles.
SPEAKER_04Yes, it was like the two of them alone, and like you know, they had the split screen of all the cameras in the room, and all of the split screens turned off except for like theirs, and it was just like, oh my god, like this is so this is such an end of an era. Um, and so it was really sad, and then the in the city transitions shows them like driving back from the Hamptons, and like you know, then it flashed forwards to like February when the rumor starts whirling, March when the statement dropped, and then we have Amanda and Kyle meeting at their old apartment, Kyle's still current apartment to talk. Um, we didn't get like a ton out of the conversation.
SPEAKER_06No, it was definitely much more Kyle and Amanda focused. Um, which we like have such short attention spans, like we were already kind we've already we're already kind of over Kyle and Amanda breaking up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Mostly because it was very it's gonna be hard to watch this season of them like struggling and knowing what we know.
SPEAKER_06It's like and I understand like from a narrative standpoint, yeah. They were doing that. Um but yeah, like how are they gonna do how are they gonna do this? Like, so we're gonna it's just gonna be like a lot of like back and forth narrative-wise. So next week is going to be this reunion part one, and then in the city episode two.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's gonna be rough.
SPEAKER_06I don't know why they're doing it this way.
SPEAKER_04I mean, they can't hold the reunion from us, no feral. We would literally burn down Bravo to get the tapes. Yeah. So speaking of that, we got the first trailer from the reunion. Oh, it was so good. It was crazy. Like, in it, we see Sarah not holding back. She is like going after Amanda as we knew she would. And basically telling Amanda, like, West is only with me, with you to spite me.
SPEAKER_01Over the past six years, I have been your fing champion. I couldn't fathom that I would be sitting here pissed that you're my ex. He wants to embarrass me. He wants to get his last little word, and I hope it works because he's with you to spite me.
SPEAKER_03I just I think I need to take okay. Wes, are you gonna go after her? You should go after your girl.
SPEAKER_01Get up and go after her, Wes. Be a f man.
SPEAKER_00This is so weird.
SPEAKER_06We have a lot of thoughts. This sent the Emily chat reeling. I wrote like a dictionary today because I like couldn't stop thinking about it. Yeah, I know. I know. All right, I broke it down. Should I break down my text? Yes. I broke it down into three theories, and I do not know which one is right. Lauren thinks it's like a combination of each, but this is these are all my hypotheses. Um okay. Option one, she is wrong. Sierra is wrong. Like West, she has always inflated how West has felt about her. And honestly, like West didn't think about Sierra at all before hooking up with Amanda. Right. And although it would be juicy and it's a juicy line, obviously, like the the editors pulled it out. Picked up like crazy. It there is no merit to it. Like, and that's a way to say face when this man who dogged you, dogged you. It's like giving madmen like, I hate you, I don't think about you at all. Yes.
SPEAKER_04That's the energy I wish Sierra would give him.
SPEAKER_06And that's the energy West says give gives her.
SPEAKER_04I know.
SPEAKER_06So that's so then my my third option is that she's right. That like what we have found out, which I have never I never thought about this until this season, is that Wes fucking hates Sierra, like Sierra. West like holds a grudge for all of the shit he had to eat, all the crow he had to eat. He takes no accountability for his role in his bad reputation.
SPEAKER_04And we saw him admit that in their Come to Jesus talks what two episodes ago or last episode where he said, I my natural inclination was like to resent you.
SPEAKER_06And I just never I never realized he thought that. I always thought that Wes was the kind of person where it's like, why can't we just be friends? Yeah. I never thought that he like was like, no, you I don't like you anymore. Um and I it makes me rethink a lot of things. Like there was, I think it was the episode before that when they had like before they had their big talk. Like, was it Bailey or Levi who was like, yeah, Wes did not stop talking about Sierra all night. Yeah. I would have I would have thought like this narrative they're playing where it's like he just loves that Sierra, like the whole like Ken doesn't have a good day unless Barbie looks at him. Like this narrative that we're playing that like he actually wants Sierra's attention and wants to hear him like a dog. And but it's I don't know. There's this possibility that he was at the club railing on her, like she's so fucking annoying, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Yeah. Um so leads to yes, a great way to get back at her and to embarrass her even more because he fucking hates her, is to have sex with her one of her best friends, yeah, and hook up with her. All right, and then I have like this bonus, which is what I want it to be, which is not what it's going to be, because that's what we want. We want Sarah to just like not care about Wes at all and that they actually get together and that she dumps him and he got with Amanda to say face. But I know that's probably not. I don't think that's especially after this season finale.
SPEAKER_04Right. I think it's kind of a combination of all of the things, and I think that I think I do think okay, and my sister chimes in with some really great points, and she was like, I you guys might disagree with me, but like I don't think either of them thought about Sierra at all. I think that like they always had an extremely furdy flirty relationship, and because Amanda was married, there was like a really clear boundary there that like they could still be flirty, but like it was fine because she was married. Yep. And then once that boundary went away with her and Kyle being separated, like the lines got blurred and neither one of them was mature enough to like put the brakes on.
SPEAKER_06As we know, like West is not capable of like setting boundaries with his what did you say? It was like perfectly set with his like his worst self.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yes. And I think also like Amanda was forbidden fruit for the longest time. So it was like really, it was like, oh, now she's on the table, and it's like nobody has like experienced her for a really long time except for Kyle. And like he's disgusting, and I can see him like thinking that way. Wow, and then Amanda, we know she like thrives and needs attention validation, like she needs external validation, and so like and West is gonna give that to her, and I think especially like male attention, she's she was in a very vulnerable place. Um, I think it was just like a situation ripe for the picking. So like I don't my sister, like, I'm kind of like, man, that makes a lot of sense too. I think that's but I don't I do think that like a silver lining in all of this is that that West does get to stick it to Sierra a little bit. Like I do think that like that doesn't like I don't think that pains him. Like I think that probably is like she put me through hell for so long, and like I get to kind of like like or the fans put put me through hell on her behalf. Like, even though like he's torpedoing himself. And I think Amanda, it's more like, oh Like somebody who desired Sierra desires me. And like there's this very like intoxicating trope of like of it's us against the world. And like we didn't mean for this to happen. Like feelings just developed and we can't help you can't help your love.
SPEAKER_06And it's just like you can help your actions though. Do you think okay? So like one of the pre like in the previews, Andy's like, so are you guys in love? Like, what do you think they're gonna say?
SPEAKER_04Well, I don't I think they're not gonna say they're in love. I think they're because like they haven't even committed to like being boyfriend and girlfriend.
SPEAKER_06That's just crazy. It is crazy to blow up your life like this when you don't even know you'd want to be boyfriend and girlfriend.
SPEAKER_04No, it's like, and if that's the case, like, because the only way it could be okay is if they like got married and had kids. And that's not gonna happen. Tell the bees American cheating. 100%. That's how you can just like bypass it. Yeah. Um, so we are sat seated, salivating for the reunion. Like, ready. It's gonna be three parts. So we're gonna have three more weeks of this, and then simultaneously getting um getting in the city.
SPEAKER_06It's gonna be like ping-pong back.
SPEAKER_04Oh my god. Just we, if you were ready for us to stop talking about Summerhouse, sorry.
SPEAKER_06Sorry, babies.
SPEAKER_04Um, okay, we've gotta switch gears now. We've got to talk about the
Off Campus Series
SPEAKER_04latest series sweeping the girlies off their feet, which is the off-campus series. Wellsy. Garrett Graham doesn't do girlfriends. What's really going on?
SPEAKER_00So what? I hope you studied and you play my fake boyfriend to get Justin's attention. Deal.
SPEAKER_06Hockey is back again.
SPEAKER_04My friend romance trigger warning hetero content. Um, I read these books. So, okay, backstory. The off-campus series is a book talk book series by L. Kennedy. It is a sports hockey romance. There are four different guys that it follows, and each book, there's four books in it. Each book follows like their love story. And then there's like offshoots from off campus. It's like, it's like um they're at a fictional school, Briar University, and then they have like another, she has another series that's like the Briar U universe, and then eventually she does like kids of the couples. Oh, yeah. So L Kennedy wrote the books. I want to say I read these in 2021, 2022. It has been a while.
SPEAKER_06Are they set in a different time?
SPEAKER_04No, they're set like modern day.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_04Um, and it was like, I also love a like college setting. Um I love a little contained universe like that. Um, so like for me, I'm like a sports romance, like I love a sports romance um book. Emily is not so much there with that trope, but it's like I love it. So these were Kindle Unlimited books that just like blew up, and now she like has a publisher releases. I mean, she had a publisher, but you know what I mean? Like she releases them to like for sale.
SPEAKER_06Um, I don't know if I said that right, but anyway, so I mean sometimes they're they it's only direct Kindle Unlimited content. Yeah. And then it just moved forward to like being on bookshelves, being able to buy a Target.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. Like she's like pretty big in like the romance world. Yeah. Um, and so anyway, Prime then took the first four books, the off campus, and adapted it into a show. And let me just say, it is so fucking good. I can't wait. Like, so so good. I think it dropped last week and they dropped all eight episodes. Um, I'm curious. I think moving forward, they're gonna start doing weekly drops like they did for the summer I turned pretty, which I think would be okay because I was so like I binged it in an embarrassing amount of time. Like I'm humiliated, and I won't tell you how short of a time it was. Nobody needs to know but me.
SPEAKER_06Um you are not alone. You are not alone. I have another girl chat, my Henderland baddies girl chat, who wear like my maybe I won't reveal how quickly, but they it was fast.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And I've been texting with shout-out Kelly and then Brooke, who so Brooke it doesn't do Bravo, but she does like she read the books and she does like heated rivalry, and she was watching this. And so romance girly. Yeah, so she's a romance girly, so the three of us are like rabid dogs texting each other about it. Um, and it's just so fun. But like I just think that they adapt. You can just tell it's directed, like the showrunner is a woman, it's directed by a woman. Like, you just see that like more media, more female gaze media, please. Like, that is what this is. It's like the men are emotionally intelligent. Like they like at one point they're having a conversation, and one of them is like talking about, he's like, make sure you like consent is key, but like did it in a way that wasn't like lame, like wasn't like, oh my god, like oh, men in a room saying we have to write something about consent. In a weight room, no less. It was like a sweaty weight room scene. But yeah, it wasn't like men, it was like it was just like natural and genuine. Um, it's the jacks aren't like these stereotypical, like meat head like bullies. They're like, it's just a good universe, and and they're all on the same team. Yes, they're all on the same team. Um, and I just love it. Like, it's also like we aren't seeing like women like pitted against each other, like there's opportunity for it, and then it's removed, and it's like just feels so nice to watch something. Oh, you mean like how women treat each other in their life? Correct.
SPEAKER_06Most of the time. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It's just like I just loved it. Um, and then Brooke texted us and she was like, no surprise, but all the off-campus boys were styled, they're styled by Hudson Williams, same stylist, which is just like, and these boys are blowing the fuck up. Like they're you are gonna see them all over the place. Like one of I think the lead, one of them is Canadian, and I'm just like, can't the great white north has been hiding these hot fucking men.
SPEAKER_06The Canadian hunks are here, they have arrived, they have been hiding, and now they're here.
SPEAKER_04I'm obsessed. They fucking rode down with the mounties and they were like, let's fucking go.
SPEAKER_06Oh, and um Judd, how Judd, who mentioned that the cute one from the pit is in it.
SPEAKER_04Yes, Mateo from the pit. So if you're also a pit girly, which I am, Mateo um was is a nurse on the pit. And so he is one of the main guys. He's Tucker. Um, and he's uh like adorable. Like I'm obsessed. I think the casting was so fucking spot on. Love it, it's insane. And the uh female lead Ella Bright, she's only 19. She's amazing. I also love like we are getting like fresh face like actors we don't know, and I fucking love that. Um, it just feels like a good, like I they also deal with some like darker themes, and I think they do it in like a really respectable way because the books deal with some darker theme things, like there's some like sexual assault, there's some domestic violence, and like I think that it is dealt like with very sensitively and respectfully. Like they do a good job with it.
SPEAKER_06And it is the content of the first four books all kind of mesh together.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so this season is the first book, which is Garrett and Hannah's story. Okay. There's overlap, like we meet some of the characters, we meet the characters who are going to be, like, we meet all the boys, like we know them, and then we meet some of the girls, and then Hannah's roommate slash best friend Allie. Um, we get kind of like the start of her story.
SPEAKER_06So they're doing like a bridger, like a Bridger Times format.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Exactly. And they've already, I think they're gonna start filming. I'm hoping, like, let's get this shit written, filmed, edited, like we no 18-month gaps, no two-year gaps.
SPEAKER_06One thing we can't do that with these college students that can't be 45 walking around.
SPEAKER_04No, like we need this, we need it expeditiously. I love it. So if you you have to watch it, we're I'm gonna bully you. It's on my list. There's just so much good media. And then Prime is also dropping Carly Fortune. They're doing a series on her first book every summer after, but I think they're calling it every year after. I I don't know why. But like Prime is evil, but also for the girlies.
SPEAKER_06Um, 100%. Yeah, I guess it's like because it is they picked the the the book of hers that is the most similar to the summer I turned pretty, and it they do want to have summer in the title. I guarantee that's oh duh.
SPEAKER_04Of course, you're so right. Yeah, that makes so much sense. I will say, like, I loved that book. I loved her second book. Three and four, absolutely not. Five loved. I'm currently reading six and really enjoying it. One Golden Summer was good. I loved One Golden Summer. That's five.
SPEAKER_06And that is, and that is the same characters in every year after. Yeah, yes. There's over it's the same universe. It's the brother. Yeah, and it's all the in the same universe, it's all like different lakes in like Canada. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04Um but yeah, I'm excited. And it's all in Canada, which I I kind of like. Canadian hunks. We're just like very Canada forward around here these days. I mean, no way would we be America forward, let me tell you that. Um, okay, so go watch it. All right. I know, Emily,
The Valley
SPEAKER_04you're not watching The Valley, right? No. Okay, I am. I'm being held hostage. I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to do this. The darkness. It is a heteronormative nightmare. Um, okay, I don't want like we're not gonna recap this last episode, but for those of you who are watching, like, I was so Nia and Danny, they pick up at this season, they have baby number four. This baby is like three months old.
SPEAKER_06And remember, the Valley is like a Vanderpump spinoff. It's like very it's kind of like what in the city is going to be, where it's yeah, all these people that were on Vanderpump rules and like extended, who are now in their 30s and 40s and absolutely fucking the worst people you've ever met, heard of, seen.
SPEAKER_04They're married, they're having kids, um, they're getting divorced. It's awful. Um, their first season was so good, and then the wheels have just the wheels are fully off the bus. The train is off the track. So, like I said, I'm being held hostage, but I'm so I'm watching it, and this last episode, we're seeing Danny like it's really interesting because Danny got a really great edit the first two seasons. Yeah. Total wife guy, total wife guy. Um, and I think that part of that was that we had Jax still on the screen, who was so diabolical, and also Jesse, who's a monster, is getting a way better at it this season, too, which is problematic. But we like in comparison to those two like evil, toxic men, he looked like, oh my god, he is such a great guy, totally seems like a good dad, he seems like a supportive husband. And this season is the absolute like 180. So it's really interesting because I'm like, what is real? What is actually real?
SPEAKER_06For one thing, to give you kind of a background to paint a picture if you don't watch The Valley. Um, Nina. Nia Nia is like a former pageant queen.
SPEAKER_04She's literally a former like Miss US.
SPEAKER_06She is so beautiful, she is so intelligent, she is sweet as pie. Um and Danny is a like former kid actor, now voice actor, five foot nothing. Yep. I mean, just ripped jeans. Looks-wise alone, it we're not leagues apart. Not even compare, like can't even compare. And then when you have conversations, I don't have conversations with them, but in the show, personality leagues apart. Like Danny is like cringy, annoying, embarrassing. Totally. And you always kind of thought, well, you know, this girl knows what she's got. You go for the goofy guy because they make the great husband. Like they make the goofy guy because they support you. Yeah. And that is the edit he got when I watched it.
SPEAKER_04Totally. And in this last episode, like there was a scene with them where, okay, so he's been in, they've they've gone on this group trip to San Diego, and he's just been a total asshole the whole time. Like in the last episode, we saw, like, she was like, Can you put the baby down for a nap? And they brought their nanny. Nia's still exclusively breastfeeding. The baby will not take a bottle. Like, we're both moms. We've both breastfed, like, you know, the stress.
SPEAKER_06So when I last time I watched it, she had three under three and was hanging on by a fucking thread. And now they have four under four. So, like, why do they talk about the reasoning of why she got pregnant and wanted to have another baby?
SPEAKER_04And it was like, if we're gonna do it, let's do it now because my bot I want my body back. Idiots. We don't have to do that, guys. We can have age gaps, like bring back age gaps.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04So it's crazy. And she's like, Can you put the baby down for a nap? So he goes to put the baby down for a nap, and he's kind of like annoyed about it. You can tell, and he's like, Why do we bring the nanny? Like, why do I have to do this if we brought the nanny? And then he comes back out of the room, she's like unpacking with AirPods and eating a sandwich, and he's like, Nia, Nia, I need a swaddle. Her eyes keep popping open. He's like, Oh, you're eating? Like, he's so mad. And we also saw a scene where they're on a um, they went to the San Diego do and my hand is like literally over my mouth. I know it's awful. They went to the San Diego Zoo and they're doing like a safari ride, and she or they're no, they're on the train to San Diego and she's holding the baby and she's trying to eat. And she's like bouncing the baby and she's like, Can you hold the baby while I eat? And he's like, Well, I'm gonna walk to the dining car then. And she's like, Can you just like take the baby? And he's like, Well, I'm gonna go walk to the din. Like, it was weird, like he didn't want to say no flat out, but he was like, I'm gonna like put a situation out there that will make you uncomfortable. I don't it was so weird. He just like wouldn't take the diabolic so worried. 100%. So then he's like kind of a dick to her, and then they like go to the zoo and whatever, then they come back and they're doing this, like they're dressing the men up. Each woman is dressing a men up and like doing glam and they're gonna have a beauty pageant. And it's like funny.
SPEAKER_06For one thing, this show is so sinister, it's awful.
SPEAKER_04And you should see their lodgings, it's like a legit, like normal ass, like Airbnb house because their budget has gotta be so I mean they went to San Diego, like it reminds me of like Southern Tarm, like early on. Like they went to like Hilton Head and stayed in like of like a townhouse, like literally five minutes away from where they live. No, it was like dark. Um, so anyway, they are back at the house and she's like, Okay, like we're gonna do this like beauty pageant thing, and he's drinking, which makes him like bring out the worst version of himself. Um, and he's being so aggressive with her. I was so unwell watching it, like the tone of his voice. He kept interjecting, he was like, What do you want me to do? Really degrading, really disrespectful, and just like with this like edge to his voice. Was anyone doing anything or saying anything? So, like everyone can kind of hear it. And we see Lala, like she she's hearing it, and she finally walks over, which like don't fucking make me agree with Lala because that's annoying. Yeah, and she walks over and interjects.
SPEAKER_00Stop raising your voice. Make my hair like a page.
SPEAKER_02I have to be honest, it's making me feel very uncomfortable the way you're talking to her. It's making me very triggered.
SPEAKER_00Why are you triggered?
SPEAKER_03Because of the way I'm speaking to her. If not kind, I don't like it.
SPEAKER_04It's and it's like, hey, like, I don't like the way you're talking to her. I'm like, sorry, Nia, if I'm overstepping right now, but like this is making me really uncomfortable, and I'm feeling really triggered by it. And he immediately is like dismissive and Nia, and she's like, you need to be nice, like, talk to your wife nicer. And Nia's like, Are you listening to her? Like, listen to what she's saying. And then it cuts to um Nia's confessional, and she's like, as much as like there's a part of me that's like, this is none of your business, Lala, like, truly, like, get out of here. She's like, there's another part of me that's like finally somebody else sees it. And like, I just want to say, like, this whole idea, because we see this like as a theme throughout the valley of like, this is their relationship, this is their marriage, and it's none of my business. And who am I to say? And I just want to say that like abusive behaviors thrive in that because when people turn their head and say, that's none of my business, that's and it's very Midwest. It's very Midwest. It's but it's very common because it's like that's a private issue, that's a private matter, and it's a really like it's such a cop out to be like, this is my family, and you don't know, like, you don't get to say anything about my relationship or my marriage. It's like the hell I don't. You're sitting here degrading your wife. I have eyes and fucking ears, baby. And he immediately, instead of like correcting his behavior, he's going after Lala and like making fun of her for saying she's triggered. And it's just like it is so nasty, and like, of course, no other man is gonna stand up, no other man says anything.
SPEAKER_06Certainly not men from the valley, and certainly not men from the valley.
SPEAKER_04And Jesse is like in his confession, he's like, I heard you know what he was saying to her, but like I didn't want to get involved, like that whole like I'm not gonna get involved, but also like Jesse is such a piece of shit. I'm not looking to him as like the guidepost for how a husband should act. Um, but it was a really, really rough watch, and then he was supposed to be on Watch What Happens Live uh with Luke and canceled his appearance, as you probably should. Um, and I also just want to say, like, you know, this whole idea of like Danny's great when he's not drinking, like Danny's fine when he's not drinking, like alcohol doesn't make somebody abusive. Okay, full stop. Alcohol might exacerbate like abusive behaviors, it makes certainly makes situations worse, like higher critical, but like it does not make somebody abusive, like, period. So like we need to like differentiate and understand like that is not a fact. And this isn't the first time he has gotten drunk and made a fool of himself. Yeah, he like us he like he basically I mean he sexually assaulted Jasmine, like yeah, it was like a whole thing that was like a whole storyline last season. Yeah, so it's just like it's it was rough. I really don't know how much I'm gonna be able to hang in there. It was very upsetting to watch. The loyalty you have. I'm oh my god. I am impressed.
SPEAKER_06So moving on
Mary Beth Barone
SPEAKER_06to something a little different.
SPEAKER_04Emily and I are both like big fans of Benny Drama. We loved Benny Drama, the comedian of the decade. Like, we've loved him when he was just like making his Courtney Kardashian Deliverance Richards like Nina Drama, the sex bot that you that you find in comments. So fucking funny.
SPEAKER_06Um, he also had a podcast with comedian and actress quotes. Uh-huh. Uh Mary Beth Marone.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Who um has been a popular like underground act um comedian for a while. Um, she always has had kind of like this icy exterior, probably not really my taste. It's very like hot rich girl comedy where it's like, is her comedy funny or is she just saying something kind of brash for someone who like is a size girl? Chicken shop, yeah, yes, yeah, yeah, of that ilk. Yes. So, but they have always been best friends. They had a podcast called Obsessed that failed, and then they had a podcast called Ride, um, which is one of my favorite podcasts of all time. Um, because it's just them, and basically the premise is that they ride for things, and it's like doesn't even matter. It's like ride for your besties or ride for Ferrero Roche. Like it's so, it's so silly. Yeah. Um Benny Drama. Uh he just did overcompensating, which is a show on Prime. Um, so they are really rising. They have had huge um She also did Gold Golden Globe's red carpet interviews and she did a great job. Killed it. She did a really good job. Um, she also has a Netflix special coming out. Um, and Ride was really, not only was it like funny, but it was also like two people who are trying to make it and haven't made it yet. Like they really didn't have um a lot of like star power, press, whatever. Right. Uh the thing about Mary Beth is that she is extremely political. We have talked about this on the podcast. I am extremely political. I mean, I'm extremely liberal. You're extremely liberal. We have talked about that on our podcast, but she kind of always took it to another level.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um she like grew up Republican, was Republican for a pretty long time, like I think even into her 20s. Like, I don't think she voted for Barack Obama. Okay. Um, which is fine. Like everybody has to grow and change. Um, but I have talked about her and her politics on this podcast because I think she is the prime example of like liberal perfectionism. Yeah. Where we instead of like going after and fighting for the causes that we should, we are going through uh politicians' closets and being like, well, you weren't this perfect progressive person here. Yeah. And I'm going to judge you for it. Um, and in this last election, she really centered her voice on being a leftist socialist. Like, I'm only gonna date socialists. Like she just like really went all out to the point where, and I feel bad for saying this, because she's not that much younger than us, but it's like that Saturday Night Live skit.
SPEAKER_04Oh, girl, you wish you hadn't started a conversation with at a party. Yes.
SPEAKER_02People who are orphans are twice as likely to not have parents. And there are people on Asia, like hundreds of them. Okay. Do me a favor, okay? Pick a number between one and ten.
SPEAKER_03Seven.
SPEAKER_02Wrong. Dancer was genocide. So now you're the statistic.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Where it's like, ooh, this girl just took like liberal one-on-one class. Yes.
SPEAKER_04And she does she's considering a poli sci major. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05A hundred percent.
SPEAKER_04Women's study minor.
SPEAKER_06A hundred percent like you don't understand. Dad, like that's always what she always what she like kind of gave off.
SPEAKER_03My enemy is the federal government, and my message is you literally have to stop.
SPEAKER_06You have to stop. Thank you. And sometimes I, you know, at best, sometimes I'm like, good for her, good for her for like standing toes down. Yeah. As Lauren says, standing ten toes down. Yeah. And then at worst, I could be like, babe, you do a podcast with Deer Media.
SPEAKER_04Like, let's not fucking forget.
SPEAKER_06So it was very, there was always this air of being hypocritical.
SPEAKER_04For those of you who don't know, Deer Media is owned by the Bostics. And it's Lauren and what is Michael Bostik. And they are Trumpers. Like they are MAGA. They are like wealthy, wealthy, wealthy, and they are fucking grifters. Okay. She literally like said that she doesn't have fertility problems because she manifests. Yeah. 100%. Like they are anti-vaxxers. They literally moved out of California so they wouldn't have to vaccinate their kids. They promote, she promoted like a lot of like unsafe birthing like methods and like, you know, like won't give her newborn vitamin K shots. And things like that.
SPEAKER_06And again, like I am very firmly on the side of like, you gotta get your bag. Like I'm not I'm not faulting them for having a dear media.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but it's like have a little bit of self-awareness. Have some self-awareness. Don't like you cannot stand on business when your checks are getting signed by these MAGA fucks. Correct.
SPEAKER_06About a month ago, she seen out with Lucas Bravo. And she has never been famous enough to have to have people care about who she was dating.
SPEAKER_04So Lucas Bravo, really quick, is Gabriel from Emily in Paris.
SPEAKER_06And he is also, I mean, like to say it quickly, he's a Zionist. He's a Zionist. To like put a little more detail into it, like he literally, when like most of Hollywood was like, we're boycotting, working with Israel in any way, he was like, I'm gonna go to Israel to do a campaign, to do like a fashion campaign. He's also like done commercials for uh Sa the Saudis. That's like Saudi tourism.
SPEAKER_04I also like he was like praised by APAC. He was praised by APAC. Like, this is not a progressive leftist. And even if he says he is, like, that is not aligning with like what he is doing. Standing on business. To Mary Beth Barone's point.
SPEAKER_06So people are upset. They're rightfully, they're like, what? And it really brings into question, like, because the Ride Pod Reddit is it has always blowing up. And it's always super active. Yeah. Um, and it's like so funny because like a year ago, like Mary Beth was like in Reddit talking to fans at the same time. And then like in this in this course of the last year, she even mentioned, like, I understand that Reddit is for you guys and I have to stop reading it because she was getting pissed because she would say shit that people didn't like. She's defensive. Um, she's always been defensive. Like, and it would be hard. Like, I get it. Oh my god, 100%. But I I just don't even even in this podcast, even in this tiny podcast that we're creating for ourselves. I'm not going in scorched earth. No. On literally anything she could have gotten her hands on. Like, she campaigned hard for Mom Donnie. Mom Donnie. Mm-hmm. Um, now like isn't saying anything about him and like the terrific job that he's doing. That's crazy. Isn't that such cool stuff? Oh my god, he's doing I know. So there's like two camps where it's like how you are a hypocrite. And then the other, the other camp is like, you're parasocial. Yeah, we are. And I a hundred percent agree. Like, okay, I have spent hours listening to this woman. Yes. I have dedicated hours. I have dedicated time, yes, and time is money to this person who stood on a soapbox and was apparently completely performative. And not only is that embarrassing for her, it makes progressives look embarrassing. Yeah. Which that's where I come in and that's where I get pissed. Yeah. Because it's like, you know what? There are people out there that aren't performing that their lives are on the line for this. And you get to come in as a incredibly rich East Coast thin white woman who pretended to care about these things until a French guy wanted to fuck you and take you to Cannes. What else is there to say?
SPEAKER_04There's really nothing else to say. Throw the mic down. So boom. So she-they're too expensive.
SPEAKER_06So she uh goes on her Instagram and posts, and only you know, like this is such a like internet brain rock. It's a niche thing. She posts the meme of Jemima Kirk saying, I think you guys might be thinking about yourselves too much. And then in it, she does the hands emoji. Diabolical. I have unfollowed her on Instagram. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna make the pod unfollow her on Instagram because I want it to fucking hurt.
SPEAKER_04Emily texted me the screenshot of that, and I and she just said she's dead to me. And I was like, I the double fucking down that she is doing, posting that, I just like can't, it's hard to put into words unless you're chronically online like us, and you understand what that means.
SPEAKER_06And she is a product of chronically online people. 100%. She does not have we are catch- you are cashing the checks because of us. And like, except for her red carpet, like I would say she is a good example of mediocre white female. Yeah. Like, there is nothing. Surrounded by funnier gay men.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. 100%. Um because like Benny wrote overcompensating, like he wrote her into that. And she's not that good of an actress. Not a good actress.
SPEAKER_06Like to the point where like I saw her and I'm like, could I be in a show?
SPEAKER_04100%. We both could by that standard.
SPEAKER_06And I wouldn't be saying this. I would have considered like I was a fan adjacent of hers at least. Yeah. But like, you can't be coming after like the people who supported and loved you. This is this is because I will start bringing up the fact that you're not that talented.
SPEAKER_04I mean, 100%.
SPEAKER_06So that's where I am. This is this is my chronically online set. It's crazy like a podcast.
SPEAKER_04Getting my Reddit homepage, I'm sending you the thing, I'm sending Emily the threads. I'm like, oh boy. The threads are getting locked.
SPEAKER_06If there are any brownies listening, this is a safe space for you. I feel you. I understand you.
SPEAKER_04And I am You don't need to ride with her through this, I'll just say that. Fuck no, baby. Alright, so moving on from that, do you want to talk about Widows Bay?
SPEAKER_06I've
Widow’s Bay
SPEAKER_06been dying to talk about it. I have not yet. This is such a good, although they are probably like complete opposite shows, like off campus and Widow's Bay. There is a connection. Female driven media. Because what is Widow's Bay on? What's it streaming on? Widow's Bay is on Apple TV. Okay. I don't know that right now has done since the iPhone 9. I um it is show run by a woman named Katie Dippold. She is most known for writing, being a writer on Parks and Rec. Ah, okay. So this is a horror, I would say horror, but it's like really funny. But actually, no, it could be a comedy that's also scary. It's so I laugh out loud three times an episode. Okay. Funnier than most comedies, but then also so scary.
SPEAKER_04And then I saw the guy who was in The Americans and also Brothers and Sisters. He is in it on love.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so I think he's so fucking hot.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's really funny. Is he gay?
SPEAKER_06No, he's married to Carrie Russell. Oh, they have an infamous American cheating.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_06I knew that. And they like didn't, it's actually funny they like didn't tell anybody they were together, like even the people they were on their show with, until like she was robbed and he was like there because they were like living together. Oh my god, that's crazy. Okay, okay. Um, he is phenomenal in it. Yeah, he's great. I just love when like hot men can contort their faces to be like goofy. Like he's a show. She definitely is a show. Okay. I think so. It's set in this like new fake New England coastal island town called Widows Bay. Okay. That is very quickly, you know, is haunted, that is cursed. Okay. Um, it is, I would say, heavily, heavily influenced by Stephen King.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And here's what I will say that I immediately loved about it. So my husband, Pod Daddy, is a huge Stephen King head, and there is a lot of Stephen King media out there that draws directly from Stephen King's material, from his universe. And much like I would say, like a Marvel, like you, you watch it, and the people that get it, it's like there's a constant like wink to the people that get it. Yeah, I don't get it. Yeah, I was gonna say I wouldn't get it. I like have always I I'm thinking uh specifically about Castle Rock, which was on oh my god, FX.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Which was literally like a Stephen King mixtape, like different characters from different books living in this new story. Season one was really good. Um but there was always this like feeling of being left out because you didn't know this universe. This is brand fucking new. Okay, I'm into it, and it's everything has because it really makes you realize like I feel like there have been powerful female stories told in horror lately, but they have been written by men. Yeah. This is so female driven in a unique way. So the last episode will be my favorite episode of television of the year. It's called Bee Treed. Okay. Um this woman, oh my god, I should have known her name. She's a British actress, she's so good in it. She like plays like the mayor's assistant and she's like kind of homely and weird. Um, imagine like a self-help book that's actually uh like attached to the occult. Okay, like it is kind of anyway. Okay, like it was so like female rage connected that like Jake like literally went on his phone and started looking on his phone because he was getting so uncomfortable. I know, like, you watch this. You put your phone away. You need to learn something. You know how much like male-centric shit I watch? You're gonna sit here and you're gonna watch how uncomfortable it is. I'm sorry, living in this world is male-centric. I 100%. Come on. You're gonna hear for two seconds about the female loneliness epidemic, bitch! Um, I cannot get enough of it. If you like horror, if you like comedy, if you just like well done, like eerie the music.
SPEAKER_04Is it 30-minute episodes or hour episodes? Or like 45?
SPEAKER_06I think it's like 45. Okay, I like that. Uh it's only this has only been the third episode, and they have been like movies. Oh, so we're doing weekly drops still. We're doing weekly drops. Okay. I haven't felt this way about a horror television show since like Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. Ooh, which we did watch.
SPEAKER_04And we're not horror girlies, but we did watch.
SPEAKER_06You will, I I mean, maybe you won't be interested in it, but it's really funny.
SPEAKER_04No, I need to get Apple Plus right now because I need I want to watch Shrinking.
SPEAKER_06Reality TV chat, the Goldsmiths have watched it and they are enjoying it.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Okay. All right, I'm I'm in. Um, okay, so we have some table scraps
Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt
SPEAKER_04we need to talk about. Um, there was just like a lot going on. It was just a busy pop culture's popping. Oh my gosh. So, did you see that Pete Davidson and his baby mama Elsie Hewitt broke up? I did.
SPEAKER_06Who could have ever seen this coming? He is old, I don't know what it is about him. Like, he reminds me of like Lindsay, like Lindsay Loen. I'm just always kind of rooting for him. I agree with him. He's such a fucking mess. I know.
SPEAKER_04But I want him like I want him to be like, Low key, like he's taking the John Mullaney route and he's gonna become like a wife family guy. Great. I love that, but he's not. No. So so she has been in the comments. So apparently she was like papped out with her baby. So the news drops that they broke up, which means they probably broke up like a month or two ago. Their baby's like five months old. Yikes. So, like immediately, I'm like, my heart goes out to her because like being postpartum, like with the brand new baby, I could not imagine. Like, no I could not imagine way. No. Um, so anyway, then she was like papped and she like looked a mess, understandably so. And she was like, She's like, I know I look like a mess. I'm doing this all on my own, blah, blah, blah. And someone was like, Does she mean, like in the comments, like, does she mean she's doing this all alone financially? And she commented back and was like, Yep. Yikes. And then somebody commented, like, wow, leaving a woman when she's postpartum, it's like the most vulnerable time in their life. Like, it's so fucked up to do that. And she liked it. So, like, she's like letting us know what really happened.
SPEAKER_06And this is not a guy, like, I wanna, I just feel like I need I don't know anything about this woman. She could fucking suck. But I sure I do need to stick up for her for the fact, like, this wasn't like they were like he was tricked into this. Like, she was trying to like snag a sugar daddy. No, like he was doing like full-on, like mini van spawn con. Like he was completely buying into this brand. Totally dollars and cents. Again, I think he was career.
SPEAKER_04He was trying to take the Mulaney approach to this one. He's also severely mentally ill. He's also severely mentally ill, he's an addict, like all of the things. And I also just want to say, it's like, even, yeah, people are definitely like coming for her. Like, what did she expect? You know what? I don't care. I actually don't fucking care because I am going to ride for any woman postpartum. Correct. Like, she could be the worst person I know, but if she just had a baby, I'm like, I'm making her a fucking lasagna and I'm bringing it over. I mean, like, same. Like, what I so it's just like maybe, but also like, I don't fucking care. That's where I'm at.
SPEAKER_06No, um, I also mentioned this to our friend Kara who's pregnant. Shout out, you can do no wrong to me, baby. No, literally. You can do no wrong in my eyes of baby. So true. You got a you got a body to bury? You got a license to kill. Do you do you need do you need some tape wrap for your belly wire? Anything bury that body foot massage?
SPEAKER_04I'm your girl. Literally. Oh my god. Um, okay. And then this has been all over. Uh, Jacob Alordi? Yeah.
Jacob Elordi and Kendall Jenner
SPEAKER_04Jacob Alordi and Kendall Jenner are dating. It is PR, guys. Like, people, like, this is PR. They both fucking love a PR relationship.
SPEAKER_06Jacob and Jacob Alordy has burned through all of through every Rolodex.
SPEAKER_04Kyle Gerber, Zendaya. Like, he is like the king of this. She is also the queen of this. Yes. Like, every single relationship they I don't think they've ever had a non-PR relationship. No. I we don't speculate on sexuality on this podcast. That boy is gay. And Kendall Jenner is a lesbian. And that boy, that other boy is also gay. Like, she is definitely a lesbian. Ain't no fucking way. But we don't speculate on sexuality. No, it's all alleged from here on out. Um, and then did you see all
Taylor Swift’s Bad Style
SPEAKER_04of so Taylor Swift is up to something because she is, she's doing some pap washes.
SPEAKER_06She is. I love her. I love my I love my exhausting girl.
SPEAKER_04I need her to get her bangs thinned. Did you see the joke that I wrote? I want you to read it out loud. She said, face Merkin. What does that mean? I'm so stupid. What is it?
SPEAKER_06A Merkin is a pube hair piece that 80s porn stars used to wear.
SPEAKER_05So accurate! Oh my god, it is. Why is she doing that? It's so bad.
SPEAKER_06Call the police. It's so and I it she is just allergic to slaying. I mean, and we love Taylor.
SPEAKER_04We're Swifties, but like I can't defend your bad fucking style. I can't defend your bad fillers, and I can't defend your thick ass hedge bangs. I mean bowl cut bangs. They're so bad. No, and like my son has a bowl cut. I love bowl cuts, but honey, this ain't it. I would love to be able to do it. You make too much money, you're too beautiful, your proportions are too statuesque for you to look this fucking terrible all the time.
SPEAKER_06Does she have a stylist or is she trying? Is she like Lyra?
SPEAKER_04She has a stylist. She's had the same stylist the whole entirety of her career. That's the problem. Fire your stylist. I could literally dress her better. A hundred percent. Like with a fucking like with like a gap credit card, I could dress her better. It would not take much. Because it's bad. It's so bad. And so makeup is not. I don't know what's going on. I don't know. The face she's in, she's doing that dumb baby doll face. Ooh. Like, oh me? I hate it. Like, oh me? I hate it.
SPEAKER_05I hate it. Even you doing it. It's like Betty Poop.
SPEAKER_04It's just like, I'm famous. Yeah. And the way she holds her handbags, like, stop. Stop it.
SPEAKER_06Like a little like T-Rex.
SPEAKER_05I've never been talking about this in my life. When my mother yells at this, it's because she loves me.
SPEAKER_04Okay. I feel like these are all me, but they're all just things that like I want to just chat quickly about. Did you see this like Avery Wood?
SPEAKER_05Not one of them is positive. Oh, we didn't have a single positive thing. We love TV. They're gay. They fucking suck. Pew face, gay, drug addict, slut.
SPEAKER_04Who's next? Doxing. Wait, I'm so dumb. What is doxing?
Avery Woods Doxes People
SPEAKER_04Doxing is when you put somebody's personal information out like in public. Like if I would dox, like if I doxed you, I would put like your phone number out. I would put your address out. It's someone did that to Avery Woods? No, Avery Woods did that to someone. It's super fucked up. Because, okay, so Avery Woods, we talked about her. We've talked about her before, and she is on, she was cast on the New Hulu reality, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, even though she is not Mormon. No. She's just like fame-hungry as she's like. She exploits her children on TikTok. 100%. She's just like a TikToker. And she's just like fucking weird. Yeah. Um, and has really like her content has really done an about face. Like where what she used to act like, look like, she is totally different now. It's just like she's wack-a-doodle-doo.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Anyway, so she's on this new show. People obviously have opinions about it. And somebody like commented about it and said, like, she's got to pay for that new house somehow, which like is not even like that bad of a jab, like at all. It's true. It's true. She like renovated this like beautiful house in Calabasas and made it so fucking ugly, like so fuck ass. Um, and like somebody's gotta pay for that like fuck ass marble you put in. Correct. So anyway, um, she like messages this girl and like calls her out on it and like basically is like telling her, like, I don't even know, and then like shares the screenshots of it, and then then she's like, just thought you'd like to know. I let your un I went ahead and let your university know like what kind of student that they have. I'm sure like you don't uphold their values. That's crazy. She sent like screenshots of this girl, this girl's information to her university, and then like shared it and like totally fucked herself because everybody was like, This is insane. This woman, it's not like this woman was like threatening to kill her or like continuously trolling, not even like your kids are ugly, like nothing like your disgusting pig, like it could have been, like slam pig, slam pig, slam pig, which we will talk about, not today. There's just too much. Um but like it's insane. I'm like, what are you doing?
SPEAKER_06No, uh this is why I do not like the Secret Wives franchise. Because it's just making like pig trash, like giving it's just like trash winning the lottery, and then it's gonna be, yeah, and then like bad shit is going to happen.
SPEAKER_04Dark shit. Avery Woods is also just a person who courts controversy. Yeah. She enjoys it. She wants to be in the mud. Like, she is just that person. She's gonna act like she wants to rise above it, but she fucking doesn't.
SPEAKER_06And I'm not gonna say she doesn't have star power because what we've got to do.
SPEAKER_04She obviously does.
SPEAKER_06We've talked about her like four times on the podcast. And she's going to be on a reality. And we talked about her a lot in the Emily chat. Like, we she's always been a player in that character for us. In our Venn diagram. I think she's like, I would never want to give her more power than just being a TikTok influencer. I agree. Like getting these like network reality show money, it just like exacerbates trash.
SPEAKER_04It's sinister, and especially Hulu, which we've discussed before. Like the TL shows. Yeah, it's just like, let me just take people who are mentally unstable. Not that Bravo, like my God, real ejection trauma. Just it's just not good. It's not good, as we've seen with the original Mormon wives. Yeah. So I just wanted to like word vomit about that.
SPEAKER_06Like she's insane. No, and I am waiting. I I would like to say I'm strong enough to boycott this show, but we shall see. I can't decide. I mean, it's one episode.
SPEAKER_04I get Hulu with my Disney bundle, so it's like it's not like I'd be like subscribing for it.
SPEAKER_06No, it's not like, I mean, it's not like we're gonna go to Saudi Arabia. For research, it's not like we're getting supported by APAC. Like APAC's putting on their Instagram. Congratulations, Lauren and Emily. Oh my god. Okay. Because they did that with Lucas Bravo. Anyway. It's insane. A mega jam-packed episode. Sorry. There was lots to discuss. We will be uh reporting on the Summer House Reunion. Um, thank you again for listening to us.
