Where I Meet You
Where I Meet You is a podcast about presence—about meeting ourselves and one another exactly where we are, without pressure to fix, rush, or become someone else.
Each episode creates space for honest conversation, quiet reflection, and the in-between seasons of life we don’t always have language for. This is not a podcast about having it all figured out. It’s a place to slow down, tell the truth, and sit with what’s real.
Whether you’re navigating change, rebuilding after a breaking point, or simply learning how to be more honest with yourself, Where I Meet You offers a gentle reminder that you don’t have to arrive healed or certain to belong.
You are welcome here—just as you are.
This is where we meet.

Sometimes the universe doesn't send you a sign. It sends you a TikTok algorithm and a wrapped book with no title on the cover.
I ordered a blind date with a book. a TikTok trend where someone wraps a book in paper and gives you just a few clues, no title, no author, and what arrived stopped me in my tracks. The Fifth Agreement and The Mastery of Love. Not random. Not coincidence. Right on time.
In this episode I'm talking about what it felt like to unwrap those books and immediately know they were meant to find me, and my commitment to reading them with you and sharing what I learn, what lands, what cracks something open. Because growth is better when it's not done alone.
I also talk about the second order still on its way, and the particular kind of excitement that comes with trusting something before you even know what it is. That feeling, the leaning in, the openness, the willingness to receive, might be the whole lesson right there.

Hello, my lovelies, and welcome to another episode of Where I Meet You. Okay, so on this episode, I want to talk about a little TikTok scrolling adventure I had. I had been on TikTok a couple weeks ago and I came across a video of a woman talking about how she had ordered from this company and what she ordered. You know those, um, I feel like it's become really popular in the last couple years. The blind date with a book things. I I think they're they're awesome. But so this one is called A Blind Date with My Soul. And so, you know, I had seen the video and I loved the message that the the lady was talking about, and she really gave this business a really good review. Like, I will put I will link them in my show notes. But so I did it right before Memorial Day weekend. I was on TikTok and I was looking at stuff, and so I dude, and like if you don't believe in synchronicities, I think that's how you say that word, um, then this isn't this isn't the fucking show for you. But so um, so I did it, and I feel like it is very fucking spot on for where I am in my life right now because oh god. I think this is gonna air after my birthday, but I'm about to turn 37. Well, I'm recording this. My birthday is in two days on June 1st. So I think it might be like a week or so after that this will air. But I digress. So for my 37th birthday, I have decided that I am going to document the next year of my life. Um, I don't know how publicly I will do it other than on the podcast, but it's like 365 days of loving myself. So back to me ordering the blind date with so it says date your soul on the thank you card. So it's the blind date with your soul book. And when I got my package, I was so excited because it also sends you some a few gifts. So I got a pen and a postcard, uh, not a postcard, a bookmark that says the purpose of our lives is to be happy from the Dalai Lama spot on. A cute little notebook that I um it's just a just a little green paperback notebook that I can jot some notes down while I'm reading. There was also another cute little card that said on one side, I am trusting the process. And then it says, I know that everything alights for my highest good. And the books that I got, which I I'm thinking I'm gonna share this. My um, I really I don't know. I'm a nerd, and when I read, I love to share what I've read. So I'm probably gonna turn this into like a little mini book club. So the books that I got from my purchase was The Mastery of Love and The Fifth Agreement, because I did the one where you got two books. Um, but funny story, I just ordered another one. So that one only has one book in it, and that should be coming um soon too. But so these are both by Don Miguel Ruiz. And um the fifth agreement is actually a sequel to the four agreements that Don writes with his son. So before I read the fifth agreement, I'm gonna read the four agreements because I haven't actually read that one. And if you're not familiar with the fifth agreement, on the back of it it says, In the four agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz revealed how the process of our education or domestication can make us forget the wisdom we were born with. Throughout our lives, we make many agreements that go against ourselves and create needless suffering. The four agreements helped us to break these self-limiting agreements and replace them with agreements that bring us personal freedom, happiness, and love. Now, Don Miguel Ruiz joins his son Jose Ruiz to offer a fresh perspective on the four agreements and a powerful new agreement for transforming our lives into a special heaven. The fifth agreement. The fifth agreement takes us to a deeper level of awareness of the power of the self and returns us to the authenticity we were born with. In this compelling sequel to the book that has changed the lives of millions of people around the world, we are reminded of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves, the freedom to be who we really are. Which I feel like I've been in like an identity crisis for years now, especially with my weight gain. God, so much of my shit goes back to my weight. But I felt like once I started gaining weight, I changed how I was dressing because I was trying to hide, and then it's like you get so far away from being the person who you thought you were that like every time you look in the mirror, you just don't recognize that person. And so I was even having that conversation with my hairdresser a couple weeks ago that I was like, I just feel like I don't have a style, I don't really know, I've never truly embraced who I am, and I, you know, I mean, and a lot of these are, you know, nobody ever told me I couldn't. Well, I guess that's not true. You know, I was my weight was always commented on, my food was always monitored, not by my parents, but by other people in my life. And then my mom pretty much let me dress however I want, but I always dressed I felt like I always dressed well for my body because I never wanted myself to appear bigger than I was. But yeah, somewhere in my 20s, I stopped dressing for me, and I just dressed to hide. And that's sad. That feels very sad. And I love seeing all the content creators, especially the plus size and mid-size girls, that or women, I should say. They are beautiful, beautiful women, and they are killing it out there, creating these outfits and really helping other people find things that make them feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin. And I just, I still struggle. So, but I am working on it. These are things that I am working on. But so the other book, The Mastery of Love, says a practical guide to the art of relationship. Let's see what the back of that one says. In The Mastery of Love, Don Miguel Ruiz illuminates the fear-based beliefs and assumptions that undermine love and lead to suffering and drama in our relationships. Using insightful stories to bring his message to life, Ruiz shows us how to heal our emotional wounds, recover the freedom and joy that are our birthright, and restore the spirit of playfulness that is vital to loving relationships. The mastery of love includes why domestication and the image of perfection lead to self-rejection, the war of control that slowly destroys in most relationships, why we hunt for love in others, and how to capture the love inside us, how to finally accept and forgive ourselves and others. And a quote on the back says, Happiness can only come from inside of you and is the result of your love. When you are aware that no one else can make you happy, and that happiness is the result of your love, this becomes the greatest mastery of the Toltec mastery of love. Which is true. So often we look for happiness validation in outside sources when it's all fucking living right inside of us. We have been so brainwashed to think that we are not good enough, and we are not strong enough, and we are not smart enough, and I know some of this also stems from the environments that we grew up in, and it's like nobody ever told me I wasn't smart enough. I only never felt good enough when it came to boys. For the longest time, I always felt like the girl that was good enough until somebody else came along because um people either wanted to date me. I'm sorry, people either wanted to quote unquote marry me or just sleep with me. There nobody ever wanted to date me until Matt decided he wanted to put up with me. And then Robert, God bless them both. But um, I know a lot of other people were talked down to about their grades, their smartness, their athletic abilities. I just internalized it all myself. I'm just the one who told myself that I wasn't good enough for God only knows what fucking reasons. But you know, some of that also is wrapped up in childhood trauma. There's a quote that I like that says, overdeveloped children are underdeveloped adults. And I might do a whole episode on that. That one I actually would really like to bring, I think, Jamie on for, because I think in a lot of ways we can relate. We had very we had a lot of similar things happen. I just think it would be it would be great to get her perspective on that too, because I feel like even though our experiences have been very different in a lot of ways, we still feel the same, or we did feel the same about our growth and our experience because of the way we grew up. So there was a lot of things that I didn't feel prepared for in adulthood that she was, and vice versa. I hate to say it's anybody's fault, but it's just, you know, parents do the best they can with the information they have at hand, you know. Like I had young parents. So my dad was 22 and my mom was 26 when I was born, so they were young, you know. And as you start getting older and having more life experience, you start, you know, empathizing with your parents a little more about their own experiences. So but I am super excited to read these books. I think I already mentioned that I'm gonna read the four agreements before I read the fifth agreement. Because I have not read that one. But I'm not quite sure. I'll have to figure out if I am gonna read The Mastery of Love first or the Fifth Agreement, and I'm super excited to see what my uh next book is because that I think this is really cool because I there are definitely messages in here that I am gonna need to hear. And I do believe that certain things are brought into your life right at the point that they're supposed to. Just like people and opportunities. The universe definitely has ways of showing up even when we think it's not listening. So remember it's always listening. And it wants us to be happy, it wants us to fulfill our life purposes and live the lives that we were truly brought here to live. But I'm curious, I would love to know if anybody else has done the blind date with my soul book or any of the other blind date books. I think that's such a fun concept, you know, and a great way to open yourself up to new experiences and yeah, I love to read. So let me know what some of your favorite books and authors are. Like, what is um I would love to know a book that has impacted you, and it doesn't have to be like a self-help help book, but like I don't know, anything. There's so many books out there in this world that have helped people in different ways. So I want to know your favorite books. I want to read some of them. So I want to know the books that have impacted your life the most. So yeah, stay tuned for my little book club over here. Um, because I'm excited to share my thoughts and my learnings with you. So until next time, this is where I meet you.
