Andrea Wormley and co-hosts Melissa Benson and Kelli Moorer kick off a light, fun conversation in their “Bags You Carry” season by literally dumping out their purses and discussing what the contents reveal about them. They compare having one purse versus many for different occasions (church, travel, errands, events) and sort through items like fans for hot flashes, socks for cold offices, lip gloss, perfume, chargers and battery packs, pill organizers, gift cards, journals, sanitizers, hair tools, utensils, receipts kept to verify tips, and even WD-40. They reflect on purse “rules” from childhood (don’t go in a woman’s purse, don’t put it on the floor), how purse weight can cause shoulder pain, and how what’s inside reflects seasons of life, preparedness, family responsibilities, and where they’re going next.

Exactly. It could just be it could be freezing in a place. We already know you can kind of eat place. Gotta look to it. Where's my fans? Where up? Go to the restaurant. There's so worm. And you go and get the eating utensil. And it's sitting up in there, and it doesn't have plaque. It's not like this. It's not covered. And it's not covered. Eric's hands have been grabbing one all day through the week. What do you think you putting in your mouth? I have so this is in my purse. I have an issue with that.

I think the WD-40 would be the strangest thing over here. What in the world are you doing with some WD40? And you're and you said earlier it represents who it could be what does it say about me? And I'm looking at as we are looking at each other's purses and things like that. It says a lot in the sense of we're busy with things going on, but we're prepared for just about anything and everything. Yeah. Between the three of us, we can save some lives over here. I hope that my purse would represent the seasons of mine. That's good. When I was a mother with small children, my purse looked different. The things in my purse look different. When I'm on date night with my husband, my purse is different. So it represents the season that I am in. And just like grandma's purse, I hope that I always have everything I need in it, or I've got sisters that I can depend on to have it in theirs.

She was like, I'm gonna put it and then decide it was gonna be on this pretty thing. She didn't even realize that's what she did. That's who she is. She's like, Oh, okay, who's this? Okay, now you gotta spread off his shirt and oh ready with the purse, let's go.

Now she knew what we were gonna do. And so she got her purses ready. She cleaned her purse out. She's okay, I'm gonna take it.

Now, wait, so we got my friend Melissa over here, she got one purse. Y'all know we got more than one person. But she got one purse, and then you was talking about the many different kinds of purses you got.

That's right. Every woman has a number of purses, just whatever you're doing for that particular day. I know everybody has come up with that situation as oh man, I switched purses today, so I don't have this particular item. So we all, I mean, yeah, if I'm out taking care of business, I may have my small little, what do you call it, little marrow carrier? If I have, if I'm going to a theme park or something like that, an activity maybe even smaller, a little event. You got your cute purse. If you're church purse. You got your church purse, you got your travel purse. That's a city purse. Okay. That's got everything in it, and that's kind of like my bag today. This is my bag with everything. Okay, hopefully, we get to see her what that means, what that looks like.

But my purses compare, except for one, my purse is compared to the purses that y'all, I I always look for the small purse, which I like, bro, your purses or whatever. I did. That's a cute one, yeah. Oh, I do have my little, little bitty purse. Um, so that's probably why I have more purses, maybe. I don't know. I don't know. I I got tons of them.

All the plugs that you could possibly love the era. And so, and then And that's great for traveling. It's good for camping. Oh, it's a shit with you. Oh, yeah. I'm totally gonna see the name of that.

So I have gift cards, but my the gift cards that I have, because it collects, y'all know. Oh, yeah. It gift cards for your birthday and for the different times or whatever. And then I don't know about you, but I do forget about them. Oh, yeah. And so they're in the purse. So when I do clean out my purse, I'm like, oh, I'll look at all these gift cards, and I hope I can still use it because it's like a year and what? Yeah. You know. So what my family and I do is we do scavenger hunts with them. And so it a family day, like, because you know, we're really busy. So uh it used to be that we have family day, not necessarily with gift cards, but family day once a week. But now everybody's just so we're good to have one once a month. So when we do have our family day, we do a scavenger hunt based on the card. So everybody throws their cards out on the table. Oh. And we'll say, okay, we'll go here. We're gonna do that. Oh, we're gonna do this with, you know, based on the gift card. Yeah, and I just direct size. Hey, I do really fine. I love really fine.

What do you think you putting in your mouth? I have so this is in my purse. I have an issue with that. Yeah. That's why I don't put that's why I don't want lemons on my water either. Now I used to work at the restaurants, and you know, you running through, you got your glasses and stuff, you gotta put the so everybody's hands, all the runners, all the whoever in the back, they getting the lemons out the bowl. I I don't know if that's what they do now, but you're getting the lemons out the bowl. Everybody's hands have been on everybody, they done been to everybody's uh table. They've picked up this the plates from the table, put them over there and wash, then they gonna run by and get a lemon out and put it on. No ma'am, hold the lemons.

Oh, okay, yeah. I that's why I keep receipts, but I also keep restaurant receipts because I need to make sure, especially the restaurants. Some a lot of restaurants has went towards you can pay online or whatever. Oh, yeah. But some restaurants, and you leave the tip, uh I have noticed some of mine that that tip has changed. Huh? That's why I keep them. That's why I keep most of my receipts, my restaurant receipts, if where that I have put my my um my uh tip on there. So then what happens is when I do clean out, or you know, I'm looking and I see that I have a bunch of receipts, I'll start, I'll go in and And look at my account and make sure that it says what the bottom line is supposed to be. And if it doesn't, then I call them and I say, excuse me. Oh. Yeah, I'm a bookkeeper. I was like, wait, yeah. This is what it's supposed to be. Oh. Yeah. That's why I keep uh these receipts.

But I have my beats in, or not beats, I have these things in here, right? And so, and then little little coins and and uh I need those stuff.

The church I used to go to, we didn't have children church like that. They gotta sit here and be quiet.

Right. What else do you need? May little may have a little blanket, may have, yeah. Or your jacket. Oh, yes. And this pillow. You might have to have a little comb brush, you know. Oh, yeah. I didn't wake up in this time. Oh, okay. Okay, it's time to go.

When he held it, it was just like, I don't know. It was like uh I had a headache, and then when he took it, it just went away, and I was like, What? So I'm sure it was it was pretty heavy also. Wow. So what about how when you think about grandma's purse? What comes to mind?

It says a it says a lot in the sense of we're busy women with things going on, but we're prepared for just about anything and everything. Yeah. Between the three of us, we can save some lives over here. Oh, we could.

No, I you can see I don't follow that rule, but I was told you never put your purse on the floor.

When I was uh a mother with small children, my purse looked different. The things in my purse look different. When I'm on date night with my husband, my purse is different. So it represents the season that I am in. And so all the various things that you see are transitions of whatever I may be going through. And just like grandma's purse, I hope. That I always have everything I need in it, or I've got sisters that I can depend on to have it in theirs.

Yeah, I think what my purse says is where I'm going and where I've been. It really does. It's uh uh because it's like, and and that's usually how I pack. Like, okay, I have to keep, you know, the question was like, why do you keep these things in your purse? Because I know I'm going to be doing some things, you know. So it definitely and and the way that it's packed is according to where I'm going, where I've been, and all that kind of stuff. Um, so I think that that's probably what my purse says about me. Um also I was thinking, especially when you were talking about what it says about you, I was thinking, oh, when you said you go out on a date, when you go out at a date, but that also justifies, I mean, it also dictates what purse you're gonna take. Tick, right? Uh exam, right? I'm dressed small or skin. Now there's nothing clear bags.

Because either put something in there, or you know, or uh my son has put something in there or whatever.
