Decoded: Real Talk for the Spiritually Curious
Reclaiming My Origin Story
There’s a kind of courage no one prepares you for—the courage to walk away from a “perfect” career that doesn’t feel like yours anymore.
I had the title. The travel perks. The media interviews. But what I didn’t have was alignment.
In this episode, I tell the story of how I went from being the head of marketing for a product line at VISA to stepping into the unknown—with nothing but a smirk (and a severance package) and a whole lot of faith.
My office used to be a sanctuary. People came for advice, but left lighter. I didn’t realize I was already doing the work I do now—helping others recenter, realign, and heal.
This is for anyone who’s been asking for change but is afraid of the mess that might come with it. Sometimes, the mess is the message.
✨ What we explore:
- Imposter syndrome behind success
- The intuitive moment I couldn’t ignore
- What happens when your guides actually answer
- Why the “wrong time” might be exactly the right time

Have you ever asked the universe for help and freaked out when it actually delivers?
I did! I prayed for Freedom and the universe said, "You want it? You got it!" Let's get you retrenched.
Best promotion ever.
Hi, I'm Teresa and I was once the head of marketing in Asia Pacific for one of Visa's payment processing and fraud management solution. And I was looking after the cybersecurity part of the business.
We were doing a lot of financial transactions, and we were doing promotions to small medium enterprises to help them understand how to go online to take payments and go cashless.
During that time, I think we were making a lot of impact in the financial world.
Some of the perks we get in corporate is flying business class for flights that's more than four hours. It is attending training and workshops and getting to mingle with a lot of business leaders and feeling that we made big impacts in the world.
Having the job title means that I have so much more interest in me, that I'm valuable, I'm worthy.
I seem to know so much, and they involved me in a lot of decision making it means so much to my parents that they have a daughter who is making an impact in the financial world where not many women leaders are there.
I prayed for freedom because every Sunday evening I'm dreading waking up going for work because there is this imposter syndrome that I had it all. I got it all, and I could do it all. But I'm tired and I don't feel in alignment with what I really feel I'm called to do.
I simply talked to my guides. I talked to the universe and said, if you're hearing this, help me. Help me leave the corporate world with some dignity, with no drama. I just want to be able to leave and hopefully get a nice package when I leave.
I received a message from my boss from the UK who said that he will be coming to Singapore on Monday, but on Monday I planned a trip to China conducting a few meetings. And he said, "Could you cancel that?" And I'm like, "I can't cancel that. That's pretty short notice." So he said, "Okay, no problem. We'll see you on Tuesday. I'll be in the office and let's have a chat."
And I was like surprised with that, short notice from my boss. 'cause we have a fantastic relationship and everything was going really good. He loved everything that I have delivered, the projects that I have headed. So when I came back on Tuesday, the meeting I was having with him was with the HR and that's when they broke the news to me.
I was surprised knowing that I was a top performer, but at the same time, I was like, "Oh my God, yes! my prayer has been answered!"
My boss was very sad. My boss said, "Do you want to stay for the day or stay for the week?"
I was like, "No, I, I can go at this hour." I was super excited, super happy. My team was shocked and my team was about to be in tears while they were helping me pack up my desk. I called for a cab to pick me up. I just did it ASAP because I couldn't wait to get out of there. Super, super happy.
I was thinking, "Well, how am I gonna tell my parents?" Because all the time I've been updating them about how well I get along with my team, my boss, and how proud I am with the projects that I was able to deliver.
And they see me on TV giving interviews, about how to be cashless, etc. So to suddenly break the news to them, thinking like, how do I put it in a positive light that this is a good thing?
But of course at the back of my mind, how am I gonna continue to service the mortgages? How am I going to plan what's next for my life? So there's a lot of thoughts that's going on, but yet at the same time I was like, it's my life. Just make it work. Do the best.
Here's the little thing, like when I'm in the office, I have my essential oils, I have my crystals, and little did I know that very often when the colleagues or my teammates are feeling really stressed, they will come to my office and offload a lot of just stress. After that, they walk out and go, "It feels really good talking to you.
Thanks for listening."
But I could see that whenever they come into my little space, I call it the centering corner. That's where I can see their energy shift.
And I know that the impact is not just based on the conversations, but there was some energy shift that's being worked to help them rebalance themself, realign themself, recenter themself so that they can walk out feeling that they can face whatever they need to face again.
Many a times when people face some setbacks or they feel like things are not going their way, and it destabilizes them, it changes the plan in their life. They often think that the universe is against them or the world is against them or that, have they done something wrong?
But if they just allow themselves to accept that, hey, this is an opportunity to relook, redirect, where their life may bring them back into alignment. 'Cause very often we don't realize that when such thing happens to us that it's our body or our guides or our life trying to tell us that,
Hey, here we are going to give you an opportunity to realign yourself to the life that you are meant to feel fulfilled and energized. So let's not look at all setbacks with such negative perspective, 'cause this may be just the best thing that happens to you.
Now what I do is help people who are like me, feeling stuck, feeling unfulfilled, that there's no end to the struggles. When I was in the corporate world, I chugged along daily thinking that by working hard, trying my best, that there is going to come a moment of the day where I finally felt that I have achieved something or felt fulfilled.
But it was a long journey not knowing when the end is coming now, that when I was given the opportunity and the space to step out, looking back in, I realized there were hints. There were moments that I was just not willing to take the risk. And this can be happening to you too. There are times when you know that this is the moment I can take the risk and I'll just say, take the leap of faith because this may be the best thing that you have done for yourself.
