21 - Why Your Restoration Is Already Complete
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if restoration is not something you work toward—but something already completed?
In this final episode of the series ‘Restoration’, Johan Toet delivers a powerful Gospel conclusion: through the finished work of Jesus Christ, you are fully restored, completely whole, and brought back into perfect unity with God. There is nothing left to earn, fix, or prove.
This teaching reveals the depth of what Jesus meant when He said, “It is finished.” Freedom from condemnation. Release from striving. Peace with God. A restored identity. Through Scripture, Johan explains how believers are brought back into the “garden”—a place of rest, provision, and oneness with the Father.
If you have ever struggled with effort-based faith, guilt, or spiritual exhaustion, this message will anchor you in the truth of the Gospel and invite you to live from rest, not performance.

Welcome to One Gospel, bringing you the full truth of God's Word. Clearly explained. Together with our host, Johann Tuit, we'll unpack scripture to understand what's written and grow as a disciple of Christ. Ready to take notes? Let's open the Bible.
SPEAKER_01Hi there and welcome to today's episode of One Gospel. I am your host, Johan Tut, and as always, I'm excited to share the Word of God with you. Man, I can't help myself, amen, because it's always amazing to share the Word of God because it builds me up, and I'm sure and I pray that it will build you up as well. So I've started this mini-serie. I didn't even realize that it would become a mini-series when I started it, but I started this mini-series about uh the theme of restoration. And I have been sharing, you know, on how you know God, um, you know, who was always the main center of my life, became uh, you know, um it became more like what I could do for God instead of you know to be with God, you know, so always being busy with the things of God, talking about God, ministering for God, working for God, and all those kind of things instead of spending time with God. And so I shared my testimony in the first episode. I really want to encourage you to go back there and you know and see if you can start at the beginning because it really will bless you. Um and I shared on how I was completely uh you know empty after years of full-time, full speed, non-stop ministry, going from this country to this country, this time zone to that time zone. Then I was sleeping in this bed, that bed, that bed, you know, all these different hotels, and you know, and and and just you know, there was it was such an imbalanced life, no rhythm. And so I lost my uh time, my precious time with God. I always started my day with God, you know, like for a few hours, and it became just like a prayer in the morning, you know, just say, Good morning, Father, thank you for today, and just went full speed ahead for the kingdom. And so I gave so much of myself that I came to a point where I couldn't give anymore. I was empty, I didn't enjoy what I was doing anymore because there was not a relationship where I also could receive from God and be restored. The Bible says that we need to be found in him, that we needed to be walking in him, building up in him and being rooted in him, you know. And so when I'm not connected with him, I cannot receive all those things, I cannot be rooted, you know, I cannot be built up in him, you know. And so I really miss that. And even though the Holy Spirit carried me through all those phases, you know, and all those times that I, you know, was so struggling, and even though he was very faithful, and because God is, you know, faithful and his mercies are new every morning, amen. Great is his faithfulness, and so um, you know, if he carried me through, I know it was a very unhealthy situation, and so you know, I came to a point where I just shouted out to God and said, Help, you know, and God spoke this word, you know, restore, restoration, and it led me to you know a complete beautiful revelation that changed my life forever. And so I wrote a book about that. You know, that's the God of restoration. You can get your physical copy, uh, you know, online in the link below, but you can also download it for free if you want. And the physical copy is also for free, it's just a mailing cost that you have to pay. And so after that, I shared that how you know we all want to maybe want to be back in that first love and how we want to enter into that peace and that rest that Jesus has established for us. And so I said, before we can understand how we can be in that rest, we need to go back to the beginning to understand what happened, you know, and how God came to restore that, how Jesus came to restore that. And so I've been going back to the garden before the fall of man, before sin came into the world, and I started to share on how you know everything was perfect and complete and finished, you know, uh in the garden, and that God rested of all his work. But then that fall came, and after fall, everything was broken. You know, the unity with God, the oneness with God was broken, and God placed men outside of the garden so that he wouldn't eat of the tree of life and you know continue to stay in this, you know, miserable state for eternity. And so, God, out of grace and love, he placed men outside of the garden to protect men. And so, you know, and then we saw that you know what it meant to live outside of the oneness with God, you know, because there was toil, you know, there was sweat, there was pain, sorrow, you know, curse, you know, and you know, it wasn't easy, you know, without being in oneness with God. And so man came into a very deep, miserable state where he had a void in himself, and he tried to fill that void with anything that is in this world, but he couldn't fill this void. You know, 1 John 2.16 said that all that is in the world is the loss of the eyes and the loss of the flesh and the pride of life. It's not of God, and because it's not of God, it cannot fill that void. And so, you know, man tried to fill it, but he couldn't. And so, you know, he was even worse because the void that came came by God, and the only one that could fill that void was God. And so, you know, man also couldn't save himself, he couldn't deliver him from that miserable state that he was in. He couldn't redeem himself from his sin nature, not by the blood of animals, not by your own personal blood, because it's contaminated with sin. You know, it's not by the blood of any other person because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, so all of them are contaminated with sin. And so it was impossible, truly impossible, for man to be freed from the bondage and the slavery that man was in. And so God had to do something. He needed to send his only son, and he did, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes shall not perish but have everlasting life. And so then God sent his son. Jesus laid down his glory, his deity, he gave himself at the cross, he went into death, he went into the grave, poured out his blood on the altar of the living God, paid the price, the ransom that needed to be paid for you and me to be free. And so now when we take Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life, he brings us back into the garden, back into the oneness and the unity with God, and there is restoration. Now I'm completed in Christ again. That means that there is nothing I have to do to be more complete than I'm already am in Christ Jesus. He is the one that restored me, he restored my spirit, he made me one with God again, and now God can be in me again, I can be in God again as it was before the fall. You know, another beautiful fact is that you know, Father God, thank you for this message, and I pray that it will bless people in the name of Jesus. You know, before the fall, there was no law, and because there was no law, I'm sorry, because there was no law, there also was no condemnation. And so when Jesus restored us and brought us back into the garden, he brought us back before the law, he brought us back before there was any condemnation, because when there is no law, there is no uh trespass, and if there's no trespass, then there is no condemnation. Romans 8:1 says, Therefore, there is now no more condemnation in Christ Jesus for those who not walk according to the flesh, but according to the spirit. Now I'm born from the spirit, and now I'm back in the garden, and the garden is in me, and I'm before the law, and so you know, I have been freed from the law, I have been freed from slavery, I've been freed from everything that tried to that has tried to bind me and to make me a slave, you know, in this world. I'm free because Jesus paid the price for me. Man, that's a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful truth. And so, and it says here, you know, that God made me a new, Jesus made me a new man. The verse that I was sharing before I ended the previous episode was in John 14, 20. And now let's go there quickly. John 14, verse 20. And so here it says, he says, at that day you will know that I am in my father, and you in me, and I in you, the day that you receive me as your Lord and Savior, the day that you are born again, that day you will know that you are one with me and one with my father again. So Jesus says in John 17, he says here in verse 22, he says, Um, well, let me just go to verse 21. He says, That they all may be one as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that you sent me. And the glory which you gave me, I have given them, that they may be one, just as we are one. I in them and you in me, that they be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that you have sent me and loved them as you have loved me. And so Jesus came to restore, he came to restore that which was lost, and that which was lost was the unity in the relationship, the oneness with God. And Jesus came to restore that, and then he says, I have given them the glory that you have given me. I've restored them and given them the glory that you have given me. I've got the same glory as Jesus, because that's what he says, you know, and your and the glory which you gave me, I have given them. Why? So that they may be one, just as we are one. I and them, and you and me, and me and you, etc., etc. etc. So by taking Jesus the way, the truth, and the life, you know, I receive his glory. I am now born of God, you know, and because of that, I can now enter into the garden, and the garden can enter into me. So let's see what it says in Matthew 17. Oh, sorry, John 17, verse 20. And so what happened was that, you know, Jesus died, and then he was buried, and then he rose again on the third day, and then he appeared to his disciples. On that day you will know that I'm in you, and you in me, and I'm in the Father, and the Father is in me. On that day, John 14, 20. And so here it says that Jesus appeared to them, stood in the midst, you know, verse 20 uh says, verse 19, he says, Peace be with you. And when he had said this, he showed them his hands, his sight, and then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. So Jesus said to them again, Peace to you, as the Father has sent me, I also sent you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. This is the same when when God breathed the breath of life into the nostrils of the man that he made from dust, you know, Adam, the first man, he breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, so he became a living being. He became like God because God created him after his likeness, not from dust, but from the breath that he breathed into man, which is the ruachakodesh. And so, you know, and now here it's the same, you know, he breathes on them and says to them, Receive the Ruachakodesh, receive the bread of God, receive the bread of life, receive, receive not the bread, the breath of life, and receive the Holy Spirit. And so now, you know, the Holy Spirit can be in you, and because the Holy Spirit now can be in you, because you are born again, that day you will understand. On that day, you will understand that I am in my father, and you are in me, and I am in you. You are completely whole, you are completely restored, you are in this perfect oneness with God now, and you are finished, it is done. You know, it's like somebody's doing the dishes, you know, and you come when everything is already cleaned up and put in the cabinets, you know, and you say, Hey, you need some help? No, thank you. It's finished, you know. Somebody's working on a house, you know, and the last nail goes into the wall, tuk, and somebody comes, hey, you need some help? No, man, it's finished, you know. It is finished. You and I are finished in Christ Jesus. We have been restored, we have become one with God again. And God can now be in us because the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6 19 that we are now a temple of the Holy Spirit. We have been bought at a price, and we are now a temple of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, who we have received from God, and we are no longer our own, because I have been crucified and no longer I live, but it is Christ who now lives within me. And so I got this life of Christ in me. I believe it's Hebrews 11 that says that we are now encrafted into this young olive tree, which is Christ. And so his life now dwells within me. It is he who is producing the fruits that I bear, it's him who produces his life within me. You know, the fruit of the spirit, you know, is peace, love, joy, you know, and long-suffering, and you know, and on all those words that I don't know in English out of my head, but I do know in Dutch. And so, but I have all these fruits that I have all these aspects of the fruit of the spirit being produced in my life because I got the life of Jesus, I've got the life of God within me, I've got the spirit of God in me. I am restored, and now I can enter into this rest. He made me something that I was never before. Look what it says in Ephesians 4. Man, this is beautiful stuff. Look what it says in Ephesians 4. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4, you know, and he says in verse 12, no, not verse 12, in verse um, let me see. Like, uh, where can I start to read this? Oh, I'm sorry, Ephesians 2, verse 14. I was wrong. Ephesians not four, but two, verse fourteen. For he himself is our peace who has made both one and has broken down the middle wall of separation, which was the law, having abolished in his flesh the enmity that is the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, making restoration. So he himself is our peace. Peace means rest, rest between means restoration, it's restored. You know, if you restore, then you experience rest, and then you experience peace. Amen. And so you can turn that around. And so he made peace, and that he might reconcile, verse 16, that he might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, and thereby putting to death the enmity. The enmity was, you know, that we were sinners by nature, therefore we had a sin nature, and there was enmity, you know, between God and man, not because God wanted it, but God cannot have communion and unity with sin, therefore, he couldn't be in man. And so there was something standing between God and man, which was sin. And Jesus came and finished that. And then there was also something else standing, you know, between the Jew and the Greek, which was the law, you know, and the law was also standing between us and God because it was impossible for us to keep the law. We tried to keep the law, the law was never given to the uh to the Gentiles, but we tried to keep the law, and there are many Christians that tried today, but please stop trying because you will never make it. You know, those who want to be justified by the law have been followed from grace, is what Paul says. So, you know, or whether it's grace or it's going to be the law, but you know, you have to decide, it cannot be mixed together, which a lot of people do. And so, but the law, you know, that also brought enmity because you know it brought separation. You tried to be justified through the law, but you couldn't. And so, you know, that could never bring you back into the oneness with God. And you know, and you try to be based on your own performance and your good works and your good deeds, you know, you try to be one but good, it couldn't, because of your sin nature, because of sin that separated you from God. But then Jesus came and he himself is our peace. In himself, he made peace. In himself, he, you know, abolished in his flesh the enmity that is the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that he created in himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that he might reconcile them both to God in one body. So I'm reconciled to God in Christ Jesus by the finished work at the cross, you know, and thereby he's putting death to the enmity. There is no more enmity, there is peace between me and God. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and those who were near, talking about the Gentiles and the Jews. And so he came and he preached peace. And so now through him we both have access by one spirit to the Father. So by taking Jesus the way, the truth, and the life, now I'm back into this oneness with God. I have access through the Holy Spirit to be one with the Father. The Spirit of God is now within me, and I'm now in God, and therefore I have this one perfect oneness and unity. 2 Corinthians 5.17 says, Therefore, if any man is in Christ Jesus, he is a new creation. Behold, all things have passed away, all things have become new. Now, what has passed away? You know, the law has been passed away, your old man has been passed away, sin nature has been passed away, slavery has been passed away, your bondage to the God of this world has been passed away. Passed away means it's dead, it's no longer there. It's no longer there. Galatians 2 20. I have been crucified with Christ. That means I'm dead. Romans 6 says that I've been I've died with him and I've been buried with him. It's done, it's over, it's finished. I'm dead as dead can be. And no longer I live, but Christ lives in me. And because Christ lives in me, because it's his spirit that dwells in me, I can now freely enter into the garden of Eden, going back to the beginning. I can enter into this rest, whether it's provision, whether it's overflow, whether it's abundance, whether it's peace and restoration, whether it's joy, you know, where everything is completely new, I can do that because I'm now in Christ, and Christ is in me, and we are hidden in God, and I can enter into the garden, and the garden can now be in me, and I can just eat freely from the tree of life, no problem whatsoever, because there is nothing standing between me and God to walk in this eternal life that He has given me in Christ Jesus. Man, that's powerful, powerful, powerful stuff. Powerful, powerful stuff. As soon as I step into Christ and I step into the life of Christ, you know, there is rest and there is restoration. Look what it says in Matthew 11, 28. Matthew 11, 28. We know these verses, you know, about come to me, all you are burned and heavenly laden. But I'm just want to read it for the accuracy because you know, um English is not my first language, and I want to quote it right. And so, Matthew 11, verse 28, Jesus says, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden. Now remember that there is toil in the world, you know, thorns and pistols and the sweat of your face, you'll shall eat of it. Curses the ground of your namesake, of your for your sake, talking about Adam, you know, and the curse, you know, and everything. But Jesus lifted that up. He says, Come to me, all you who are labor and heaven laden, and I will give you rest. Rest means restoration, I will restore you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest. You will find restoration, you will find peace for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. So Jesus restored a broken man. He it didn't matter whether it was Jew or a Greek or Gentile, you know, he made him one new man, a man in rest, a man in peace, a man that was restored to his original state. He was brought back into his original factory settings where he could be one with God. Man, that is so beautiful. You know, he made all new in himself and he made us complete in him. That's why he called out, you know, in John 19 30, he says, It is finished. It is finished. Finished means finished. So if you can say that to yourself, you say, I am finished, I am complete. I am restored. I am brand new. I am something that I was never before. I am a new man. I am a new creation. I am holy. I am pure. I am sanctified. I am purified. I am blameless before him in love. I am righteous. I am everything that God says that I am because he's not a man that he can lie. I am back in the garden. Man, we can fully be rested in him because that is what it is. You know, we are we are completed. Now, there are many people say, Yeah, brother, I know, I hear what you say, but you know, I've got so much struggles and I've got so much challenges in my life, you know, my circumstances and things like that, you know, and I've so much, you know, um uh anxiousness, anxiety, you know, because that comes because you are functioning outside of the garden instead of inside of the garden. You try to do it all yourself, you try to do it by your own efforts through your carnal man, instead of doing it through the spirit, where you can experience this supernatural rest and peace. We can enter into that rest because it is finished, it has been done, it's it's over. You can rest in the finished work. He brought us a new covenant with better promises. A promise is where you don't need to do anything yourself to be who God says that you are. You only have to believe, to receive, to be back into the oneness with God. And of course, from that point of love and relationship, you want to do everything that you know you can imagine. You know, the criminal at the cross, the only thing he did was said to Jesus, think of me when you are in your kingdom. And he says, Surely today you will be with me in paradise. The only thing he did, he said, think of me. You know, so it's not based on your performance or what you can do or what you can't do, you know, or anything like that. Jesus became everything we were so that we could be everything that he is. He became sin for us so that we could be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, 2 Corinthians 5.21. He became a curse so that you and I could be blessed, Galatians 3.13. He became poor so that you and I could be rich, 2 Corinthians 8.9. You know, he made us heirs of the promise, Galatians 3.29. He blessed us so that we could be a blessing, Genesis 12.2. And he bore our sicknesses and our diseases, Isaiah 53, verse 4 and 5, you know, 1 Peter 2.24, you know, Jesus by his stripes we were healed. You know, he became everything we were so that we could become everything that he is. And now I am back in the garden, I am finished, I am done. So why work so hard to get something that you already have? Why trying to be something that you already are? Why not just you know enter into this rest, enter into his promise, enter into those, into the finished work of Jesus. And don't try to add all kinds of stuff yourself. You know, when God showed me this, you know, and I really want to uh, you know, encourage you to get that book, you know, God of Restoration. But when God showed me this, you know, I stepped into this rest. My relationship with God got completely restored. On his side it was already good, but now it got restored on my side also, which is important because it takes to the tango, amen. And so that got completely restored. I entered into his rest. I started to trust him, I started to, you know, believe him and focus only on him, drawing from him, you know, and just entering to this rest and all the provision, everything that he had provided through grace in Christ Jesus became yes and amen for me in a way that you cannot imagine. I do more now than I did before I asked, I said to God, help on the mountain. You know, before he spoke restore and restoration into my life, I did a lot, but I do more, much more. I thought I was going to do a lot less, you know, so I had more time with God. But instead of that, he showed me what it means to be in his rest, to be at the feet of Jesus, to be back in the garden, and that the garden is in me, to be one with God again, what that actually means for my life. And now I do so much more for God, but I'm not tired, I'm not weary, heavenly, burdened and labored. I am not, because I came to my father, I came to Jesus, I became merry, and he says, I will give you rest for your soul. And now I'm more productive, I've got more joy, I'm back in my first love, I'm completely all over, you know, over heels, you know, in love with my savior and my King Jesus. And I praise him and I thank him, you know, because he's so good and he's does he have done so good in my life, you know. And I really I pray that for you also that you get that revelation, that you understand that you are complete now, that it has been finished, that you are completely restored, and that you are back in the garden before the fall. Everything is good. God looks at you and he says, It's good. And now he rests, and you can rest in his work, in his finished work at the cross. Wow, man, that's powerful. I truly hope you you were blessed by it. You know, and if you got any good testimony or comments, you know, please contact me in the link below. I'd love to hear from you, and I'd love to see you again in a new episode of One Gospel. Bye-bye.
