36 - Why Nothing Changes Without the Word

Hi there and welcome to today's episode of One Gospel. I'm your host, Johan Tut, and as always, excited to share the Word of God with you. So, the last uh episodes we have spoken about this series that I've started, the importance of the Word. I was expecting maybe to do two or three episodes, but we are we in the meantime already have like four or five, and so today we'll just continue with it and we just see where it goes. Um last uh episode I've spoken about you know how uh the word of God, you know, is like a sword that you can counter each and every lie from the enemy. Because the enemy, you know, who is out to kill, steal, and destroy, you know, he can't stand the word of God. He can come against you, and if you do not know what the word of God is saying about you, you know, you cannot counter that also with the word of God. But when you know who you are in Christ Jesus, you can counter Satan's attacks with the word of God, and that's truly a powerful truth. And so I also uh, you know, uh spoke about uh, you know, that we need to sow the good seed of the word of God in our hearts, you know, like the Bible says in Mark 4 that some of them, you know, it's sown on the sides of the road, and with other ones, it's sown on stony ground, and then with others it's sown, you know, uh, and they hear the word, but you know, it's full with thorns and thistles, the desires of the world, and you know, the the chase for richness and all that stuff is just chokes the word and it becomes fruitless. And so, you know, we need to make sure that your focus is not on all the things around you, you need you need to be sure that your focus is on the word of God, and then that word of God will bear fruit in you and it will set you free, amen. And so it's it's really important that you actively work with the word of God, and uh, so we've been talking about all this amazing stuff, and I really want to encourage you to go back to them and just watch them, and you know, so because I I just talk until I am not allowed to talk anymore because of the time, and then I will just continue talking in the next one and just see where it goes from there. And so I don't want to go too much back into the previous uh episode, just go and watch it, amen. I also want to tell you that uh I've written a few books and you can get those for free either as a PDF or e-hub or you know, physical copy, you know, go to our website and see how you can purchase those, get those, you know. Um, the books itself they are completely free. And so um, you know, um there are some amazing uh themes that I uh that I uh cover. Uh, for example, you know, about our identity and authority in Christ Jesus, which is the fullness of God, the ABC of the gospel. It's really an amazing book, and then also speak about true prosperity, about God's idea of prosperity and not man's idea of prosperity, which is a real blessing. And then also wrote my biography, the you know, Good Enough, which is an amazing tool for evangelism as well. You know, and then my latest book was The God of Restoration, you know, how God, you know, had his redemption plan and what he did for us and how he restored us and made us a new creation in Christ Jesus and what that means for us. Really beautiful book, you know, and then also my wife Brenda wrote an amazing uh biography, uh, you know, about her testimony and you know, some ladies from the Bible, some women from the Bible, and I mean real blessing also. So I want to encourage you just to go there. There are some other materials also, but it will really bless you. All right, so let's continue in the uh in this topic, you know, the importance of the word of God, because um, as I said, you know, um, even if Satan comes and you know what the word of God says and you counter that with the truth of the word of God, then it will keep you from you know, condemnation, from guilt and shame, you know, and punishment and all it will keep you away, you know, from those things, it will protect you against those things because you just know that you know that you know what the word of God says about it, and then you know those things cannot affect you because you know that those things are lies, they are not for you as a child of God, they are not for you, you know. And so the Bible says in Jeremiah 10:10 that the Lord God is truth, you know, the Lord God is true, He He is not a man that He should lie, and so if you if that is your truth, if you believe that, if you mix that with faith and you believe that God is true, then everything that is not in line with His word automatically becomes a lie. And knowing that it is a lie, you can counter it and reject it so it won't affect your garden, it won't affect the soil of your heart, it won't affect your mind in the way you think. Hallelujah. And so, you know, um don't let your life be led by circumstances and accusations, but by the living God. You know, I had this picture, you know, a few years ago about how your mind is like a computer. You know, we have been spoken about uh teaching about the renewing of your mind, Romans 12.2, Ephesians 4 22 till 24. You know, how important it is that you should, you know, put off the old and put on the new by the renewing of your mind with the word of God. So knowing what God says about you and what is true about you instead of what you what your previous experiences and doctrines and philosophies are, you know, uh that are conforming the the spirit of the God of this world that is working now in the children of disobedience, that mindset. But if your mind should be like compared to a computer, you have to understand that your whole life you have been downloading a lot of trash, a lot of viruses, a lot of lies, a lot of things by which your computer now doesn't work the way that it should work. It's supposed to work, it doesn't work the way that it was built for, you know. So it will encounter a lot of troubles, you know, and it will, you know, that little wheel, you know, when it when something tries to be downloaded, but it can't download because it's too slow, the system is too slow, you know, it's full with trash and all this kind of the wheel just turns and turns and turns and turns and you wait for ages and it will never happen, you know. So this is like your mind, you know, you can't process the truth anymore if it's completely full with lies, deception, and viruses from this world and the Satan, the god of lies, you know, that he has been brought into the world and whispered into your ear your whole life. And so, what you gotta do is you gotta defragmentate, you got to reset, reboot, you know, however you want to call it, you know, uh, by taking out lies so there comes space in your system and to bring in truth. Lie out, truth in, lie out, truth in, lie out, truth in, lie out, truth in. And before you know, there is no more lie, there's only truth, and then you will start to flourish and bloom because you know there are good seeds, and they will bring you a beautiful bouquet of flowers, hallelujah. They will bring you the amazing fruits from the kingdom of God that will become manifest in your life, his promises will become manifest in your life. Everything that he says that you are will become manifest in your life. Everything that he says he is will become manifest in your life. You will become a living testimony, you know, of the living God who dwells within you and his blessing and favor that is upon your life. When you fill yourself with that truth, so it will, you know, just force out the lies and you will come to walk in the full manifestation of who you are in Christ Jesus. Man, that's powerful. So if you say that you do not believe what God, what the word of God says, then automatically you believe, you know, the opposite. And I've said that in the previous episode that you know, if you if you have unbelief, it's nothing else more than having faith in the opposite of what God says. Because unbelief does not believe what God says. Well, if it doesn't believe what God says, then it automatically believes what God says not. You see? So either way, it's faith, it's just in the wrong thing. You have to put your faith in God, not in other things. And I can go a long way with that and tell a long things about it, but you know, you you you will trust the lie instead of the truth, you know, if you are walking in unbelief, and so you have to counter that, and you can only counter that with the word of God. You know, um I want to share something about what happened to me, you know, a few years ago. It was um, I believe it was around uh 2011. I'm not sure, but um what happened? No, not 2011. How do I think it was in 2020? I'm so sorry, I just was distracted there for a moment. In 2020, um, I was on a mission trip in the end of 2019, beginning of 2020. Um, I'm not sure if it was 2020 as well. Well, that is really ugly. Please forgive me that I do not know the year anymore exactly when that happened. I'm confusing things. I'm confusing COVID, I'm confusing when I got out of prison, I'm confusing all these things. So, anyway, a few years ago, well, even like that, so I'm not lying. A few years ago, I was on a mission trip in Brazil. And in the end of the year, and like on you know, the last week of December, beginning of January, you know, um, there was uh I was in Brazil and my team just left, and uh there was a huge outbreak of yellow fever in the area. It was already going on for weeks in different areas. I didn't hear about it because I didn't watch the news, but we stay in a remote area where there was a lot of forest and all that kind of stuff, and there it was full with uh mosquitoes and monkeys that had yellow fever. Now, the mosquito that stains the monkey will take that yellow fever from the monkey and then bring that to humans because the same mosquito that stings monkeys will sting humans. And so I never get stung by mosquitoes ever in my life. I don't get stung by mosquitoes, my wife does, and the reason why is because she's sweeter than I, man. But the reason why she is, you know, being stung is because when those mosquitoes come and they want to sting me, I don't say, Listen, man, I'm gonna send you to my wife in the name of Jesus and leave me alone. No, I'm just kidding. I don't know, they don't sting me, they they sting my wife, but anyway, and so uh we were there, you know, together, Brenda and I, and uh I had uh some conferences and uh church service, and so I stayed a little bit longer before I would uh go back to Holland, and uh but I started to become really, really sick, and um it was a very strong fever, and you know, and um I was blaming myself for it because you know I didn't take really good care, I was just going on and on and on and on, didn't take any breaks, didn't take any rest, that's just my character, you know, and so you know I felt that my I let my guard down and that for therefore I could be under attack of this thing, and so I started to counter the fever, and then the fever went, you know, and I feel a little bit better. And so, but then it will just come back just as hard, and I was shaking and trembling, you know, and it became really, really bad, and so I just send it away again, and then bam, you know, it just uh came back as hard as it was. And so uh I needed to preach in a church, and I just went to preach in that church because I took a decision that whatever comes against me, whatever the problems are high, how the mountain is or how deep the valley is, you know, I'm gonna do it anyway. If God called me to preach, and I'm gonna preach, and nothing's gonna stop me in Jesus' name, hallelujah. And so I just decided to go there no matter how I feel. And so I went there, I preached the gospel, it was amazing. I was ministering to a lot of people, and then the last two persons I was praying for, I was shaking like you know, uncontrollably. And they were shaking uncontrollably. They thought that I was shaking them because of the Holy Spirit, but I wasn't shaking them because of the Holy Spirit. I was shaking because I was sick and I was under attack or something, and I didn't know what it was, but I couldn't control the shaking, and and you know, the people were shaking like that. It was really funny, nevertheless. You know, so I went into the car, you know, I couldn't drive, I was out. Like my eyes were turning, you know, I didn't realize where I was anymore. I had no clue. I was laying in the car, I was I was feeling so so so bad, you know. And uh we went back to the project. I stayed another day in my bed there, and it was so so bad, you know, and then it went and I felt better and it came back. And then I said to my wife, I said, I don't want to stay in Brazil, I need to go back to Holland, you know, I need to be, you know, close to my family. So we decided to go back to the Netherlands, but I didn't say anything, you know, to nobody of my family, you know, of how I felt and what was going on and things like that. I just kept it for myself, me and my wife. And so uh we went back when I got into the plane, everything was okay. As soon as I got out of the plane after 12-hour flight, it was like supernaturally how I got even normally into the Netherlands because of the state that I was in. But as soon as I got out of the plane, I couldn't stand on my feet anymore. I really got so bad that I couldn't breathe, I couldn't speak, I couldn't stand on my legs, my heart started to pound so fast and so irregular that it felt like my heart would explode through my chest. You know, I just I I started to become so bad and so weak in a few days I have lost 15 kilograms. I had no clue what was going on, I had no idea on the what kind of attack I was. I only knew it was an attack. I went home, I crawled literally into my house, crawled literally into my bed and was battling this thing for two days. And I was vomiting all the time, and I was you know, sweating, you know, and then felt like I was falling away, and then I came back, and you know, it was like it was crazy. And I thought, I'm not gonna make it. I felt like I'm not gonna make it. I have to say that right. I didn't think it. I felt like I'm not gonna make it. I was really, really weak. And so finally, you know, Brenda, my wife, you know, as I said before, never heed to the voice of your wife, but I do heed the voice of my wife more and more because she is so wise and she is so amazing. But she said, you know, Yohan, listen, I'm tired of this, man. You know, I understand that you stand in faith and you believe the word of God, you know, and I also believe that by his stripes you were healed, you know, but you have to figure out what's attacking you so you can counter it in the right way. And I was like, Yeah, you're right. So, what I need to do, she says, You gotta go to a doctor. I didn't want to go to a doctor. I don't, I don't like hospitals. I love doctors. I mean, it's amazing what these people do, you know, but uh they can't heal me. Jesus is the only one that can heal me, you know. But and she said, Yes, but they can help you maybe, you know, to be better faster, you know. And so she drew, she literally drew me or drawed me or dragged me. She dragged me to the doctor, came to the doctor, explained the whole story, what was going on, and everything, and he said, You know, I'm suspecting something, I'm gonna send you to a tropical hospital. So I was thinking, well, that would be nice, you know, like a hospital with palm trees in your room and a white beach in the front of the hospital, you know. But he meant like they were taking care of tropical diseases. And so when I got there, you know, they took my blood and my urine, you know, and I was sitting in his wheelchair. I definitely could not walk or anything like that, and you feel so, you know, powerless, which it's not true because the devil is a liar, I am powerful because he who is in me is greater than he who is in the world. Hallelujah. And so, but what happened was that we were waiting for the results, and um, you know, this guy comes back and he says, You know, I I don't have good news. You really need to go to uh, you know, we need to, you know, check you in to the hospital, and you need to have immediately care because we think that you are not gonna make it, you know, and I said, Well, I rebuke that in the name of Jesus. And so we went to the uh to the hospital and they they they they they checked me in in the room, and you know, there was a guy in my room first, before they really knew what it was. There was a guy in my room who had a leg off and this was stinking and rotting his leg, you know, was really, really bad. And so, you know, I came into the room and I saw this guy, and I thought, you know, it can't be worse, you know, he's missing a leg, I just got a flu, you know what I mean. But then they came and took the guy out. I was even testifying to the guy while I was so sick, you know, that God is a good God. And then he went out, and then you know, the doctors came, and the doctors came in these suits and masks and everything on, you know, and they closed everything, and they said, you know, you know, we we really, really have bad news for you. And so this doctor, she's from Brazil actually, she came to sit across me and she told me, she says, you know, um, I want you to sit up straight because what I'm gonna tell you now, you know, you're not gonna be happy with. You have yellow fever, it's a deadly virus. People are dying. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of people dying. Young people are dying in Brazil at the moment because of this outbreak of yellow fever. All the monkeys they have destroyed because of the outbreak of this yellow fever. It's serious. You are very weak, you have lost a lot of weight, you can turn yellow, your heart is about to explode, you know, your organs can explode and start bleeding, you know, and we are not we are not sure if you're gonna make it. Uh you know, it's I'm sorry to tell you, it's really, really bad news. She says, Well, I don't think that we can do nothing for you. We just have to sit and wait. Um, you know, but I'll you know it maybe it's good to talk with your family and things like that. But I didn't even let her talk. I just broke into her story and I said, Listen, you know, with all due respect, but I rebuke that in the name of Jesus. I counted those lies and that bad report in the name of Jesus. I am not gonna die. I am gonna live. My God is greater than yellow fever. The blood of Jesus is running through my veins, and no virus can exist in my body because Jesus cannot be sick, and he is the one who dwells inside of me. So I'm sorry to say, but I'm not gonna accept your words, and I want to ask you kindly to leave my room so I can spend time with my father. And she was like in a complete shock, you know, and so and she says, uh yeah, but do you hear what I said? Listen, do not repeat it again. I ask you to leave my room kindly, please. And so she went out, you know, somewhat disappointed, you know, and closed the door and probably thought that I was mental, you know. But I just started to sit on the side of my bed and I said, Father God, you have been so good for me, you know, from the beginning that you came into my life till the day that I am now. There hasn't been nothing else than blessing, favor, goodness, and kindness and mercy and grace upon my life in each and every situation. You have never failed me, and you will not fail me now. Lord, I worship your holy name, I bless your holy name, I praise your holy name, thank you, Lord, for the life that I've lived, and thank you for the future that I have in front of me. And even if I would die today, I still will rejoice in you and your goodness and your kindness. I believe you, Father, for everything that you say in your word, and I just praise your holy name and I bless your holy name. And I started to worship God, you know, and suddenly I just felt that to have to speak against that yellow fever, and I said, and now I rebuke that yellow fever in the name of Jesus, virus, die in my blood right now. Gone with you. I am not gonna die, but I'm gonna live to proclaim the mighty works of the Lord. God is for me, and by his stripes I am healed. Hallelujah! And I just sat there on the side of my bed and I just felt that healing that I already received in my born-again spirit become manifest in my body. I knew that I knew that I was completely healed. I had a smile from ear to ear. You know, you don't feel it, you don't see it, but you know it. You mix the word of God with faith. And so I packed my stuff. It was on a Friday night. I called my wife and I said, I'm healed. And she said, Hallelujah. The doctors came the next morning and they told me, How do you feel? I said, I'm healed. And they couldn't believe it. And they said, No, no, no, no, no. You know, yellow fever goes like this. I said, No, mine goes like this. It's a flatliner. I'm healed. And they said, Are you agreeing with us to keep you for the weekend to do some tests on you? And I said, You can test whatever you want, but I'm healed nevertheless, you know. And so they did test the whole weekend. I've been through machines that I don't even know the names of or why I went through them, you know, but they did a lot of tests on me. And then on Monday morning they came to tell me, they said, you know, there is no more yellow fever in your system. Don't know what happened, but it's a medical miracle. I said, No, no, no, no, no. It's not a miracle, medical miracle, it's a God kind of miracle. It's God who healed me. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. And so they released me. I was constantly instantly healed because I stood on the word of God. You know, in spite of my circumstances, in spite of what the doctor said, in spite of what I was feeling at the moment, and I went through and was attacking me in my system. They were not, you know, it was not denying that I was under attack. I was sick and I was really, really good under attack. But I gave the word of God more authority in my life than what I felt. I placed his word above my situation and it caused me to experience my healing. And so they even invited me to come to a medical symposium where, like, or a thousand doctors, I don't know how many, you know, asked me if you wanted if I want to share something on the picture of yellow fever and the symptoms. And I said, Well, you know, I will come, you know, but the doctor can share about the symptoms. I want to share about who healed me, and they let me do that. And so I went there and I testified in front of all those medical doctors, which 99% is atheist, not all of them, but most of them are atheists, you know. And I just shared about how God had healed me from yellow fever. And the doctor that was treating me said it's true, it is a God kind of miracle, because his blood values with the yellow fever were like high in the chart. They showed it in an image in the video screen. They said, This is where it was on the Friday night, and this is where it was on the Saturday morning. No more yellow fever in the system. We cannot explain it. It has to be from God. Man, I'm telling you, that's powerful. I mean, that's seriously, seriously powerful. If you know who you are in Christ Jesus, you know, and you will speak that, you will confess it, you will proclaim it, you stop griping and complaining and saying things that are not in line with the word of God, you stop, you know, just speaking death, speaking unbelief, speaking doubt, and speaking the things that the world speaks, and you start to speak God's word, and you start to believe God's word and confess God's word, and you take God's word and you sow it in your heart and you place it above everything else in your life, you will live a life in victory, you will live a life in fullness, you will live a life in the in the destiny that God has destined for you in the name of Jesus. Man, I'm telling you, that's really, really powerful. And again, you know, I just I just I cannot emphasize the importance of you knowing the word of God, knowing what it means, and then mix that with faith. Believe God's word and do not believe everything else, you know, and so start to confess it and you know, sow good seeds in your heart. Amen. Don't go, you know, um, by what you feel, don't go by what the world says, but go by what God says. I have one less Bible first, and then my time is up again. I'm sorry. 1 Peter 2 1 3 says, Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babies, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. My God is good and he is gracious. Feed yourself with the pure milk of the word of God. Amen. I hope you were blessed. I hope this built you up and built your faith up.
