Welcome to One Gospel, bringing you the full truth of God's Word. Clearly explained. Together with our host, Johann Tuit, we'll unpack scripture to understand what's written and grow as a disciple of Christ. Ready to take notes? Let's open the Bible.
SPEAKER_01Hi there. Welcome to today's episode of One Gospel. I'm your host, Johan Tut, and as always excited to share the Word of God with you. I have been doing a series called The Importance of the Word. And today I want to continue. I hope that this is the last, but I'm not sure, but I hope this is the last episode that I will use for this topic. But there is so much to share about. It's like everything evolves around the Word of God Christ Jesus. Amen. And so just to recount quickly, you know, the previous lesson, I've spoken about how important it is that we speak the word of God, and then also that when we speak the word of God, the process, you know, that starts when we speak it and when we received it, and when it's been sown into our hearts, there is a process, and it takes time for the seed that has been sown into our hearts or in the heart of other people. It takes time for that to become manifest. And you know, I also share that sometimes we immediately see fruits, but that's not always the case. The the normal process is that it takes time for the word to become fruitful, and also that we need to receive the word in faith and not in doubt, because if we receive it in doubt, we will make it of none effect. But if we receive it in faith, if the word of God is being mixed with faith, then it will do that for which it was sent. Amen. And so I really want to encourage you to go back and to um just watch all the episodes about this series. Uh really is gonna bless you, I'm sure. And um, today I want to continue. So um there are a few other things that we can do with the word of God, and I want to look at that and then see how far we get. And uh, but uh boy, there is so much beautiful thing to share about this, amen. I've been blessed by it, and I hope you also. So Jesus says to the Father in John 17, verse 8, he says, I have given them your word. And man, this got so many layers, you know, because first of all, Jesus is the word, amen. And I've been sharing about that how his name is called the word of God, how you know um he says, I am the bread from heaven, and that the word of God says that we should not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Jesus came down as the bread of heaven, who was our spiritual food, and then he says that he is the way, the truth, and the life. So the word of God is the way, the truth, and the life. If you got the word, then you got Jesus. If you got Jesus, then you got life, amen. And it's so beautiful. But he says, I have given them your word. And Jesus gave us himself, he gave himself for us. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, but then Jesus gave himself because he took on the form of a slave, of a bondservant, and he uh was humiliated and became obedient to death, even to the death at the cross. He gave himself at the cross for you and for me. He gave himself, the word that became flesh gave himself, and then he also gave us the written word. So, first of all, the most precious that he could give was himself, the the word that became flesh, and then also, of course, the written word. And because it's so precious that God came in flesh, the word became flesh, dwelled among us, and that word gave himself for you and for me, so that we now can say that we are children of the living God, that you and I now can say that we are holy and we are pure and we are righteous and we are blameless and we are blessed, you know, and and you know, and and that that we that we are favored with God and that we are that we have grace with God, that we have become his children, that we have become a new person, that we have become a temple of the Holy Spirit, that we have become heirs of the kingdom of God, that we have become blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places, that we become blessed with the blessing of Abraham, that we have been adopted and chosen and predestined to become children of the living God, that we have received the same glory that God has given Jesus, Jesus has given to us, that we are now not only friends of God, but we are also brothers of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, that we have his very nature now in us, and that we have spirit, soul, and body completed because we will get a glorified body because of the word of God, and our soul is being renewed by the word of God and is going to be glorified, and our spirit is already glorified and is sealed with the Holy Spirit and it's holy, pure, and righteous. And so we have all these beautiful things and all these beautiful promises and all those realities and all those blessings and all these transformations, all these things we have received because Jesus gave us his word. Man, that's powerful. I make some uh reels for the socials that were always saying, you know, and that's the way the cookie crumbles, and that was a good moment to say that's the way the cookie crumbles, because you know the word of God is so beautiful, it's so powerful, it's so important, and we don't give it the importance that we should give to it, we don't give it the priority that we should give to it, we don't give it the attention or time that we should give to it. And I and I understand that it is sometimes hard, you know, to read and think, you know, I already read that story 25,000 times. Well, how should I read it one more time? Because it's alive. Because every time you can find new nuggets, every time you can find new truths, do you think that I know everything? I don't. I've have I have to learn so much, but I'm not scared to learn, I'm eager to learn. I want to know more and more and more about God, who He is, and who I am in Him, and all these other things. I just that's why I keep and it just keeps encouraging me and building me up and strengthening me and transforming me and molding me and changing me more and more from glory to glory. You know, and I man, I couldn't imagine it. I can literally tell you that if I didn't read the Bible like for a day or two because I've been busy with ministry or anything that, or anything like that, I really feel like worn out. I feel like something has been drained from me and I have to fill it up again, and that I do with the word of God in relationship with my father, amen. And so it's it's it's it's vital, it's very, very important, and we need to give it the reverence that it that it deserves. Jesus gave himself the word of God, and it can establish the impossible in our lives, and he is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and nothing will change, amen. And so, therefore, it's important that we do uh some certain things with the word of God. And I want to just go back to the disciples and just look up some Bible verses with you because you know it's important to you know to learn from those examples and to understand how these principles work. So, first of all, uh what they did, the disciples, they wrote the word, right? We know that um the word of God is inspired by the Holy Spirit, and it's been given to men, you know, to to write down what the Holy Spirit has inspirated them with to write down. And um, so we know that you know the apostles, not all of them, but most of them, uh wrote uh letters and and books, you know, that were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and it was very, very important. So let's look at um 2 Thessalonians 3 verse 17. 2 Thessalonians 3 verse 17. Alright. 2 Thessalonians 7. I'm used to work with a Bible that has this thumbnails, you know. I don't know how to say, yeah, I think it's thumbnails. Um especially for the English one, would it be very nice, the Dutch ones are more easy. This is the first, so this is the second, 2 Thessalonians Sensen 3 verse 17, and there it says the solution of Paul with my own hand, which is a sign in every epistle, so I write. So here is just a confirmation that they were writing the word of God, they wrote the word of God. Amen. Then the second point, and I'm getting into this, but bear with me, the second point is that they read the word of God, Colossians 4.16. Let's go to Colossians 4.16, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Colossians 4.16. Here it says, now when this epistle is read among you, see that it is read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. And so here they got the command to read the letters, no, the letters that we are reading here. We need to read them, and so first they wrote them, and now we also gotta read them. And so the disciples they readed the word, they read the word, and then they also spoke the word. Acts 4 31. It's a beautiful verse, actually. Acts 4 31. Here in Acts 4.31 it says, and when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Now I've been sharing about how important it is that we speak the word of God, and here it says they spoke the word of God with boldness. And then also in Acts 19.8, we can see something very, very important, and that is that they did not only wrote the word, they didn't only read the word, they didn't only spoke the word, they also did the word. Acts 19, verse 8. And he went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning them of the things of the kingdom of God. So he went and started to speak the word, he just started to do it, you know, just started to teach the people, started to pray for people, started to expell demons and you know, and all this kind of stuff. He just went and go and and did it. And so it's important that we write the word down. That's the first point. Writing the word down, they wrote the word down, and um, you know, if they wouldn't have written the word down, if the apostles uh and Paul, if they wouldn't have written the word down, then you and I would not be saved today because we wouldn't know how to be saved. Amen. It is all explained in the word, and so thank God that He inspired them to write it down so that we can read the Word of God and we can be saved by it, and we can receive all these benefits from it and have a relationship with God our Father. But you know, uh my experience, and this is what I want to give to you my experience is that when you read the word down, you know, it has more impact in your life than when you only read it. So you when you when you read it, you'll be more focused on it. Um sorry, when you write it. And so what I do is I take, for example, a Bible story and I take a notebook, and then I just write from the beginning. Now I don't know, let's say here I'm in I am here in um Acts 18, verse 1, and it says, after these things Paul departed from Athens and went to Corinth. Okay, after these things, Paul departed from Athens and went to Corinth. So now I know that after these things Paul went to Athens and then after that to Corinth, because I'm more focused on the thing that I've been reading and then writing it down. There's more focus and it and it resonates better in your heart because when you are writing it down and reading and writing it down, you uh you start to meditate on it, you start to ponder on it, and you know, and it's really really beautiful. So thank God for people that were obedient, you know, to write the word of God down. Amen. Look what it says in 2 Timothy 3 16 and 17. It says, All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. Man, all the scripture is given by inspiration of God, and it has all these amazing ways of using it, you know, profitable for doctrine, for reproof, correction, instruction, and righteousness, so that we can be equipped and that we can be complete and that we can be equipped for every good work. That's why it's so important, you know, that this word is written down so that you and I can use it for this means. Amen. And of course, the second point is that it's really, really important that we read the word. Because when we will start to read the word of God, then finally also we will start to speak it and apply it in our lives, you know, because without reading, we don't know what we need to do and we don't know how to do it. Amen. And so by reading the word of God, you know, um things start to change in us, because as I have been explaining in all the previous lessons, when we are reading the word of God, these seeds are being sown into our hearts and finally will start to manifest in our lives with it mixed with faith. And so, 1 Thessalonians 5.27 he says, I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren, as I've just been reading also. In Acts 17.11, he says, These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness. That's very important, that we received the word with readiness, and searched in the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. And so we can read through all of the Bible how people were reading the word, they were studying the scriptures, they were meditating on it, they were seeking it, you know, and as a matter of fact, and I believe this verse I will use later on again, but as a matter of fact, that here it says in Joshua, in Joshua, oh come on. Yes, in Joshua 1, verse 8, it says that we need to meditate on this word day and night. Here it says, This book of the law, which we also interpret as this word, shall not depart from your mouth. That means that you need to speak it, but you shall meditate in a day and night. That means that you need to ponder on it, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. So you also act on it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success. You see, it's so important that we do certain things with the word of God, as that I'm now treating with you. So, you know, the word of God has vital importance. Speaking the word is also vital, as I have been proving uh in my previous study, about how I spoke the word of God to my daughter, how I spoke the word of God to my family, and how they all got saved by how I spoke the word to them, because it they received that word that I spoke to them, and it was the word of God that is the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Amen. And so um, you know, it's very important, and um, you know, and and and and to speak the word of God in boldness to other people, it will transform other people, it will set them free, it will heal them. And I've been I've been sharing testimonies about how you know I we speak against sickness and people are constantly healed on our events, on our crusades. We see beautiful things happen because we just speak the word of God, we speak it to the people, we speak it to the problem, we speak you know to the mountains, and you know it's really beautiful. And so when we speak the word of God, you know, people also will be able to believe. Let's go quickly to Romans 10. Romans 10. Here in Romans 10 verse 8 it says, but what does it say? What does it speak? What does it say? The word, that's the word of God, is near you in your mouth and in your heart. That is the word of faith which we preach. That's the gospel, that's the truth, that's the word of God. That if you confess with your mouth, you speak it, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart, that's mixing what you speak with faith, believing in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, as has been written, you will, that's a promise, be saved. Now, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. So you speak yourself into the kingdom of God, man. You believe yourself and you speak yourself into the kingdom of God. That's powerful. For the scripture says, Whoever believes on him will not be put to shame. For there is no distinction between you and Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon him. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Now, how then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? They cannot believe if they did not did not heard, they cannot believe if they did not hear the word of God that you need to speak. And so, and how shall they hear without a preacher? Hallelujah. Praise God for preachers, amen. And how shall they preach unless somebody is sent? Anyway, the point I wanted to make is that you know, people need to hear the word of God, and when they hear the word of God, they also can start to believe it. And it says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God, and so you can hear a lot of stuff, but that doesn't bring faith. Faith comes by hearing the word of God, and you can only hear the word of God if it has been spoken. Now, if I read the Bible, I read the Bible out loud, and I do that so because I can also put accents, I don't know how you say that, the way that you say it. For example, um you can read without speaking, and then you probably would read this like um, but I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses says, I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I will move you to anger by a foolish nation. You can read it this like flat, but if I read it out loud, then it's gonna be like this. But I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses says, I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation. You see, there's so the intonation of the way that I say it becomes different, and therefore I can picture it and I can live it, and I can make it my own. And that's the way I read the Bible out loud. And so by speaking the word of God, you know, we can move mountains. I've spoken about it, you know, like in Mark 11, where we can where Jesus says that we can speak to the mountain if we do not doubt in our hearts, but believe that whatever we say will happen, it will happen, whatever we say. Therefore, I say to you, whatever you uh whatever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and you will have them. You know, I've been quoting that, and uh, you know, uh, so we can speak to each and every mountain, but we have to speak, we have to speak truth, that's the word of God, and we have to speak it in faith. Amen. So these two are very important. Well, um, so speaking the word of God is very vital, and also again, I can talk about the power of words, but I'm gonna do that in a different series, um, talking, or maybe not even a series, but just I'm gonna talk about uh, you know, the power of our words, because you know, man, we can we can really harm ourselves and we can build up ourselves and others the same way with our words, and therefore we have to be very aware of the words that we speak, but that's for a different one. So, besides speaking the word of God, we also need to do the word. James 1.22 says, but be doers of the word and not hearers only deceiving yourself. So if we only hear the word, but we do not act on it, we do not do it, we do not walk in it, we do not apply it in our lives, then you deceive yourself. You know, and and there are a lot of people, I'm sorry to say that, you know, a lot of people in the body of Christ, they they hear the word uh each and every Sunday. They hear the word, they're just sitting there. And just goes in one ear and goes out the other. They're just sitting there and hear the words and hear the word and hear the word, but it has no effect in their lives. Why? Because they do not receive it in faith and they do not apply it in their lives. They do not walk it out. They hear it, but they're not really believing it. Because if you really would believe what the word of God says, then you would act on it as well. Then you would apply it. If God says, you know, lay your hand on the sick and they will be healed. And I'm not going to lay my hands on the sick, then I do not really believe what God says, or I don't really care about the people that are sick. Amen. And so it's important that, you know, when God says to me that I can do that, and I hear that and I mix it with faith, then I'm going to act on it. I need to walk out in my life by acting on it, you know, what God says in His word, and then it will bear fruit. And a lot of fruit will glorify God. Remember, John 15, verse 8. And so you have to put your words into actions, and that will be the greatest testimony that you can give. So speak the word in faith over every situation, write and read the word of God so you get more deeper layers and more understanding of it. But especially also do the word of God so that become manifest what God says that his word will do. And so, if God says something to you and to me, my brother, my sister, it's not Mickey Mouse who said it. It's the great I am, the he who was and is to come, the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega, the Almighty God, you know, the creator of heaven and earth, my father, your father. You know, he says it. And if he says it, then it must be pretty important. Amen. Because his words are not in vain, his words will never return void. His words have power, his words have potential, his words have, you know, they're filled with purpose. You know, and so when he said it, we really have to give us attention, give our attention to it, listen to it, receiving it, mixing it with faith, trusting in him, what he says, applying it without being afraid, you know, and just act on it the way that God says that we can act on it, because it will be really, really good. There's so many times that Jesus says in the Bible, I say to you, verily, I say to you, I say to you, I say to you. You know, I don't know if you understand, but if God says something to you, God says something to me. God, not the president of the United States, not the King of the Netherlands, you know, God says something to you. Man, if God speaks, I listen. Now, and I try to be obedient in each and every way. I don't say I'm perfect, I don't walk around squeaky clean, you know, in my spirit I am, but I'm also human and still make mistakes, you know, and I'm not gonna sit here and say that I do everything perfect. I don't, but my heart is willing to do so. That's my motivation, you know. And I just want to I just want to have the max, you know, that God has for me and live the max so I can honor him and testify with my life that God is really an amazing God that can do all things and that is nothing is impossible, you know, and and so on and so forth. But you know, um I listen to God, I really do, and you should also, because it's the greater of heaven and earth who gave his son for you and me, uh, you know, that speaks to us, and you know, and that's really really important. That's why he says about Jesus, the word. Hey, we know the Jesus word, listen to him, not to the law, not to the prophets, listen to Jesus, listen to him, listen to what he says, do what he says. John 2 5. Do what he says, you know, be obedient, listen to his word. His word is the truth, and the truth will make you free. Alright, so let me just check my time. Yes, it's up. I hope you were blessed, and I hope you received something from this series. I'm gonna leave it with this, and I hope to see you the next time with a new episode of One Gospel. I love you, and God loves you even more. Bye-bye.
