Welcome to One Gospel, bringing you the full truth of God's Word. Clearly explained. Together with our host, Johann Tuit, we'll unpack scripture to understand what's written and grow as a disciple of Christ. Ready to take notes? Let's open the Bible.
SPEAKER_01Hi there and welcome to today's episode of One Gospel. I am your host, Johan Tut, and as always, excited to share the word of God with you. So I've started this teaching called In Christ, the I Am. And you know, I have started uh to talk about to teach on uh Ephesians 1, verse 1 and 2, and I didn't get really, really far. As a matter of fact, I just stayed in the very first verse, I believe, um, you know, where it says that sorry, where it says that it's sent that it's that this letter is addressed uh to the saints and the faithful, you know, in Christ Jesus. And so um what I've been sharing on, first of all, is that you know the faithful uh you know is translated in some translations as believers, and then I really shat on you know what believing actually is. If you are a believer and you say that you believe, then you act on it in faith in order to receive that what you say that you believe. If you if you just say it but you don't really believe it and don't act on it in faith, then your words are like blanks, you know, that won't hit the mark. And so I've shared on that, you know, and um shown that God is only pleased by those who believe and those who that that come to him in faith, that act on, act as they truly believe him, you know, and so and what he says in his word and who he is, and so that was a real blessing. And now I've really left it a little bit uh, you know, to um the difference between um somebody that sorry says that he believes, but he he just believes that Jesus is the Lord, that Jesus is the Son of God who died for them, and he's a their uh they he's their savior. And those people they they believe that, they've received that, but they don't act on whatever God says, and they don't do what God says that he can do, and they don't walk in it. You know, it's like you know, they don't want to spend the time or they don't know how to spend the time, and we need to teach them, but you know, they don't spend the time with God, with his word, in communion with the Holy Spirit, you know, the way that the Bible says that we need to do to truly know him. You know, and so you know, I took an example on how I want to spend time with my wife and how and when I just met her, you know, we were together, we still are together like almost 24-7, but we were together 24-7, you know, because I just wanted to be in her presence and I just wanted to know her. I just wanted to be around her, and I just wanted to understand her, you know, and just know all her weak points and strong points, you know. I just wanted to find out everything about her because I am in love with her. And so if we say that we love Jesus, if we love God and we are in love with him, then we should spend time with him so we can get to know him. And once we get to know him, we automatically also will start to act on the things that he says that we can do and that is best for us because we start to trust him. That's what faith is. Faith now is the substance. Faith now is trusting, is knowing for sure. It is the substance of the things that we hope for. It's an evidence of the things not seen. Because the evidence is that once you start to act on it and you start to apply it in your life, then you know that's the evidence that the things that you hoped for you truly believe. Faith now. Man, I'm telling you, it's amazing. And so then Paul, he's writing this letter to the faithful and the saints, which the faithful is this the believers and the saints, and when he writes that to those people, then he actually writes to those who walk and act in the things that they claim and say to believe. And so they don't walk like other Gentiles, and they don't walk as people that just have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior for their salvation and nothing more and nothing less. No, they truly, truly want to follow Jesus, they truly, truly want to know who he is, what he has done for them, and how they can, you know, walk in his will, how they can be obedient to their word, not to his word, not not not because to earn anything or to be good enough or to love, because they are in love. That's the whole motivation, the whole point why they are doing it. He acts, he he walks as a child of God and he is it and he walks as a disciple of Jesus. He believes what God says, he does what God says, you know, and he says what God says because he is obedient. Amen. And so I left it there. And so, Father God, thank you for this teaching and thank you for you know the the point that we're trying to get across to those to listen. I really pray that it's gonna be a blessing for them, and I'm giving you all the glory and all the honor in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. And so, all right, so first of all, the letter is written to the believers and the faithfuls, to the to the saints and the faithful. So he also writes this to the saints. Now, if you are a believer who acts, you know, on what he says that he believes, if you are if you are a true believer, then you are also a true saint. Now, for some people, this is very hard to hear, but you in Christ Jesus are a saint, you are holy in Christ Jesus. If you are born again Christian, you are automatically holy. Because it says here in verse 4 of Ephesians 1 that He chooses us in Him before the foundations of the world, so that we would that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. And so, you know, when I'm in Christ Jesus, I am holy and blameless before Him in love. I am holy and blameless. And so a few years ago I was visiting Spain. I love Spain, I love the language, I love the food, you know, I love the places, the history, you know, it's just amazing. And all these Spanish-speaking countries I also really enjoy to be there. And we work a lot in Latin America and South America, and we do a lot of amazing things there. But the people are amazing, they're very passionate and you know, very warm and very kind and very, you know, open, and really are it really suits me well to be around those kind of people. And so um when I was in Spain, I was visiting this church called La Sagrada Familia, uh Sacred Family. It's it was a it's a huge cathedral, and they have worked on it, they have um restored it because uh you know it I don't know what happened, but there was a lot of stuff going on. And uh I probably thought it had burned down and they built it up again or whatever. But anyway, it was beautiful. I mean, it's like really, really beautiful. I think they reformed it, and so you see the whole story of the gospel, you know, in big stones carved out on the sides of the building, you know, and it's just a big square, you know, and all those people getting drawn to it, you know. And then, you know, I got in, and then this guy, you know, is sitting there at his desk, and I needed to buy a ticket to be to enter into La Sagrada Familia. If I say it like that, it even sounds more crazy. So I needed to buy a ticket so that I could get into the house of God. Because it's a church, it's a cathedral, so it should be the house of God, yeah? Where they worship God. And so I I have to pay a ticket to get in. You know, I I thought, man, you know, this is a place of commerce, you know. I remember a story in the Bible where Jesus just made a whip, you know, and worked everybody out of the temple because they made his the place of his father, you know, like a place of commerce. They were doing business and commerce there. So, but anyway, not being judgmental whatsoever, I was just surprised that I needed to pay to enter into the church. And so, anyway, it was a beautiful, beautiful building, and then so I paid the ticket, you know, to gay and to go in. And so, and then the man also mentioned something for giving for the saints, you know. He said, You do you also want to consider to do a donation for the saints? So, so I told him, I said, Well, I'm a saint. I'm gonna give I don't know. Am I getting some part of that donation that you receive the whole day through, you know, because I'm a saint. And the guy just looked at me and he says, No, you're not. He says, You're not a saint. How can you say that? He says, Maybe, you know, one day if you do enough good works for God, you know, if you really have proven yourself to, you know, to do a lot of good works, you know, you can be declared a saint. But you're not a saint? How can you say that? He was really upset that I said that. I said, listen, man, do you believe God? You know, because you know, once he started to say that to me, you know, we're getting into a you know, in a conversation, and I have this whole line standing behind me and my wife, Brenda. You know, he's like, come on, let's let it go, let it go. I said, No, I'm not gonna let it go. I'm not saying that I am a saint. He says, Yes, you did. I said, No, I'm not. I am a saint because God says that I'm a saint. He says it in his word that I am a saint. If I'm in Christ Jesus, I am a saint, you know, and I just started to show him, you know, from the scriptures. Then I'm a saint. And he said, Well, yeah, you know, but you know, and I was like, Well, whatsoever, man, I'm going as a saint into the church, and if I get out, I want a part of my donation. Of course, I was making fun of him, but you know, I said it in love, but man, you know, they have no clue. They think a saint is somebody who did a lot of good works. No, you don't become a saint because you do works for God, you become a saint because Christ died for you, and in him you are holy and pure and blameless before him in love. And so, you know, um, they just have those people that they they they have called out to be a saint, you know, just based on their works. And then so that's only for the few, and that's not what my Bible teaches me. And so, you know, but anyway, we don't be we don't become a saint, we don't become holy because we do all kinds of stuff before God, good intentioned uh works that we do for the Lord. The moment that you really truly believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God and who died for your sins and then rose again on the third day that he came into the flesh, and it's the only way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father but by him, and that you have to repent and believe the gospel, which is Christ. You know, and if you truly believe that in your heart and you confess it with your mouth, you know, you immediately are holy before God. You immediately are a saint and holy before God, because God is spirit and he looks at your spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5 23 says that we are as uh that we have a body, a soul, and a spirit, and it's our spirit that now has been made into the nature of God, it's from the same spirit, and as he is, so I am now in the world. In my spirit, I am completely identical to the nature of Christ. Identical, and so immediately I become holy and I become a saint, and so I can say, I am holy, I am holy, man. I'm a holy man, I am a saint. Now I know that a lot of people get shocked if you say that kind of stuff. You know, I don't I don't say this pridefully, I don't say it to boast, I'm just saying what the word of God says about me, and I need to see myself as God sees me. Otherwise, you know, I'm not agreeing with him, and that's not faith, that's not believing and acting what you say that you believe. Amen. So it's important, you know, and so I'm holy, and so it's not me who's saying it's the word of God. Now, sorry. So Christ has played in Christ, we are placed before him, you know, holy and without blame in love, and so Christ is holy, and we as believers are in him also holy. If we are in Christ and Christ is in us, then we automatically become holy. In Romans 11:6 it says, For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy, and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And so if the first fruit, which is Jesus, the first bone, firstborn among many brethren, if he is holy, then we also are holy. Now, Christ, you know, Hebrews 11, verse 17, you know, Christ, he is the young olive tree, and we now are crafted in this olive tree. We are crafted in the olive tree, which is Christ. And so now, Christ, his life, you know, is Christ is holy and his life now in me is producing this life that's in him. This holy life that's in him. And so if Christ is holy and he is in me, and I'm crafted in him, that whatever he is producing in me, there are, you know, there are fruits of the spirit. There are fruits. There's a fruit of the spirit, that's the fruits that Christ is producing in me, and one of them is holiness, because I have his nature, he is holy, so I am holy. And so in Galatians 2.20, it says that I have been crucified with Christ, and now no longer I live, but Christ lives in me. And as long as I'm living in the flesh, I now live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. And so, if Christ lives in me, then his holiness lives in me. If it's Christ's life in me, then his life will produce whatever he is within me, and so I will bear that as fruit. In John 17, 17, John 17, 17. Just go there quickly. Hope it still makes sense to you guys. John 17, 17. So here it says, sanctify them by your truth, your word is the truth. As you sent me into the world, I have also sent them into the world, and for their sakes I sanctify myself that they also may be sanctified by the truth. So I am sanctified by the truth, by the word of God. I am I am sanctified by the word of God. I am already clean by the word of God, I'm already holy by the word of God, which is Christ Jesus. Amen. And so I am sanctified, and he sanctified himself so that I could be sanctified. And he says that he has given me the same glory that he had with the Father. You know, he says it in John 17, 22, I believe, yeah, the glory which you gave me, I have given them that they may be one, just as we are one. And so he gives me his glory because I'm holy, because I'm a saint, because I'm sanctified. Otherwise, I couldn't have his glory. You know, Christ, you know, is the truth, he is the word of truth. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. So Christ is the word, Revelation 19, verse 13. It says his name is called the Word of God. And so, you know, uh in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. So Christ, the way, the truth, and the life, He is the way, the Word is the way, the Word is the truth, the Word is life, and this word, by this word of truth, I have been sanctified, because that's what my Bible teaches me. That's what this is who I am in Christ. I am holy in Christ, I am sanctified in Christ, I am a saint in Christ Jesus, and so in Christ Jesus, I am holy and blameless before God. And so the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, just let me pronounce that, you know, who a Hakodesh. It's the Holy Spirit, the holy bread of God, the Holy Spirit, yes, cannot indwell in something that's unholy. It's very simple, it's like an ABC. If the Holy Spirit would be able to indwell in something unholy, then Jesus wouldn't have to come to save and to seek that which was lost. And that which was lost was our intimacy, our relationship with God, the oneness and the unity with God, because we were separated by our sin nature. And because we were separated by our sin nature, the Holy Spirit could not indwell us, he couldn't take home and make, he couldn't take um how you say that, he couldn't, he couldn't live in me because of the fact that there was a separation because of the sin nature. But the moment I step into Christ, now I'm in Christ, and when I'm in Christ, the life of Christ is within me, and this nature of Christ is within me, and now I am holy by the blood, I'm sanctified by the blood, I am justified by the blood, you know, my faith in the grace, but it's by the blood, by his sacrifice, you know, that I'm now have become holy, I have been washed and cleansed of all my sins, it has been completely blotted out, and now the Holy Spirit can go in this holy temple, He can indwell me and make me a holy temple before God, sanctified, purified, blameless. That's powerful, man, because Jesus brought back oneness, and by that the Holy Spirit can indwell me again, you know, because Jesus needed to restore that what was lost, that what was broken. Man was unholy, and so the Holy Spirit could not dwell in man. And so, but now we are a new creation, amen. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore, if any man is in Christ Jesus, he is a new creation. All things have passed away, behold, all things have become new. So in Christ Jesus, I am now a new creation. Just for you to get that I am quotations, you know, lines, you know, it's like in Christ Jesus, in Christ, that's the series, I am holy, I am a new creation, I am sanctified, I am blameless, I am loved. And we can continue. I'm gonna go to that also in this series, but we are restored and brought back to our original state, you know, how it's supposed to be before the fall of man, you know, where God could be in me and I could be in him. And because Jesus has restored everything, you know, now I'm one with the Father again, and I can only be one with the Father if I am holy, if I am sanctified. And he sanctified me. Jesus has sanctified me, man. That's powerful stuff, man. So let's go to John 17, verse 3. John 17, verse 3. He says, and this eternal life that they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. And so to know him, you know, to know him is eternal life, and eternal life we can only have when we are sanctified, when we are holy. Otherwise, we cannot have this eternal life within us. It is impossible. And so, Jesus says that I am gonna be in you, and you are gonna be in me. And man, how I'm gonna say this, let me just re-rewind a little bit. Jesus says in John 14, verse 17, he says, you know, that the Holy Spirit will come and dwell inside of you, and we will he will be within you for eternity. And then in John 14, 23, he says, and me and my father will come and dwell within you, make our dwelling with you. And then it says in in Luke 17, 21, it says that the kingdom of God is within you, and so 1 Corinthians 6.19 says, Don't you know that your bodies are now a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, which you have received from the Father, and that you are no longer your own because you have been bought with a price. And so I can only have the Holy Spirit within me. I can only be um God and the the Father and God the Son can only take their dwelling within me. The kingdom of God can only be within me if I am declared holy, if I am a saint, if I am sanctified, purified by the blood of Jesus. And I am in Christ Jesus. That's the point, and I'm trying to get across. And so, you know, you just really truly can say you are holy. We are holy temples of the Lord, and the Holy Spirit has taken up residence in us. Now, again, I am not holy by what I do, but I'm holy by what Jesus has done for me. Amen. And so you receive that as a gift. The unmerited favor that has been bestowed upon you through Christ Jesus made you holy. It's not your own performance or your dead works or good intentions or works of the law or anything like that. And of course, now it's important also that now we are holy, now that we are saints, that we walk holy, live holy, act holy, so and not like acting holy, but you know, like be holy, you know, because so that you can bear fruit after your kind. Let us go to 1 Peter 1.14. 1 Peter 1.14. Man, I surely hope I get this point across because there's a lot of people, you know, they're like, I'm not holy, I'm doing still unholy stuff, I'm still, you know, making mistakes, and still, you know, sometimes you're not being worthy of his love. You know, nobody's worthy of his love, he just loves you because he is love, so you can get that out of your system straight away. 1 Peter 1.14. It says, as obedient children, not conforming yourself to the former lusts, as in your ignorance, that is, in your old man, the way that you know, in the course of this world, you know, according to the will of the spirit, you know, uh, that is now working in the children of disobedience and to the God of this world. And so it says, As obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts as in your ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, be holy, for I am holy. And so he calls us to be holy in every way we can, in the way that we walk, in the way that we talk, in the way that we act, in the way that we do, in the way that we be. Be holy because I am holy. And because I am holy, you are now holy, and you are now sanctified, and you are now a saint, but you should manifest that by acting on it in faith, that you are, you know, as a matter of fact, the child of the living God. And so if God is holy, then you should be holy in everything that you do. Now we do make mistakes and we do say things that we are ashamed of, you know, and we do things sometimes that are not in line with the word of God. You know, we we we are not perfect in every little step we take. But you know, we should place our effort by love, motivated by love, you know, to think on, you know, who is Christ and who am I in Christ? Then that is what I should manifest. You know, and you don't do that by effort, you do that through relationship with the Holy Spirit, by knowing the word of God, by intimacy with the Father, that you automatically will start to manifest that life that is now within you, which is the life of Christ, it will produce this holy fruit through the Holy Spirit, you know, and that will bless people and bless yourself also. So this is uh your conduct is expected from God, you know, uh that you walk holy as He is holy, amen. So, if you are a believer, if you are a faithful uh believer, if you are faithful and therefore also are holy, sanctified, you are a saint, then God speaks to you directly in this letter in Ephesians 1 from verse 1. And so I will continue that in the next episode, but I truly hope that you were blessed by this one. And I hope to hear from you also in the comments. You can leave it here in this link link below. You can leave your comments, and uh I really love to see you again in the next episode of One Gospel. God bless you. Bye-bye.
