You are not trying to become blessed.
You already are.
In this episode of One Gospel, we go deeper into what it means to be blessed in Christ.
Many believers keep striving for something God has already given. But the Bible says you are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places.
So why does it not always feel that way?
Because knowing you are blessed is different from understanding what that blessing actually contains.
This message will help you see what you already have in Christ and how that changes your identity, your confidence, and your life.

Welcome to One Gospel, bringing you the full truth of God's Word. Clearly explained. Together with our host, Johann Tuit, we'll unpack scripture to understand what's written and grow as a disciple of Christ. Ready to take notes? Let's open the Bible.
SPEAKER_01Hi there and welcome to today's episode of One Gospel. I am your host, Johan Tut, and as always, I am excited to share the word of God with you. So I've started this teaching called In Christ, and I already covered so much that it is too much to just go back and you know just review it all again. But just like in a nutshell that I've been teaching from Ephesians 1, verse 1 and 2, that you know he writes this letter to the saints and the faithful, the believers in you know in Christ Jesus. And so I've explained that we now are in Christ Jesus, we are saints, we are holy, because he says that we are holy and God can't lie, you know, and that you know, if I'm faithful, if I'm a believer, that not only says that he believes, but he also acts in faith on that what he says that he believes. You know that Paul says that grace and peace from our God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ is unto us. And so, you know, um, the grace of God, the favor of God, the goodness of God is in our lives because we are the faithful, we are the believers, and we are the saints in Christ Jesus, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, is with us because the God of peace is with us, because we are in Christ Jesus, and I have explained and covered what it means that now that we are in the peace, that we have the peace of God, and that we are now saints and holy before Him in love, you know what that really means. And so it was really amazing. I really want to encourage you to go back to that. And so today I want to continue in this teaching and you know just see how far we're gonna get. But thank you, Father God, for this teaching and thank you for your word, thank you for your Holy Spirit. I give you all the praise and all the glory in Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Amen. And so, you know, the point that I want to make, you know, the point that I want to make is that I have what God says that I have, and I can do what God says that I can do, because I am who God says that I am. Now, I am is identity authority. My identity, which is in Christ Jesus, and my authority which comes with that in Christ Jesus, makes me I am, and so I am in Christ Jesus, whatever God says that I am. Amen. And so I'm teaching on this, and so I just want to continue to see what more I am in Christ Jesus, or what I have in Christ Jesus, and today I want to focus a little bit on the spiritual blessings, and so in Ephesians 1, verse 3 it says, Blessed be the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Man, it is so much, you know, you can hang around and stick here for a while because you're gonna say that in English, you can stick here, you can stick around here for a while, amen. Um, you know, because there is so much that it says right here. First of all, you know, God is blessed and our Lord Jesus Christ is blessed, amen. Um, but so he gives the glory to God because God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. Now, uh this verse, you know, it's very often being emphasized, you know, when we preach this to say, you know, how blessed we are. You know, oh man, we are blessed with the blessing of Abraham, we are blessed with all the spiritual blessings in heavenly places, hallelujah. And although that's absolutely 100% true, I mean, we are blessed. Uh the blessing of God and the spiritual blessings that He has blessed me with, it's not something that I'm trying to get. I'm not stretching myself out to get that blessing. You know, I'm not trying to do all kinds of things to achieve that blessing or to receive that blessing in my life. It's it's not gonna bless me somewhere in the future, it's not something that I hope for that maybe one day will come and pass by. No, I am already blessed. I don't need to obtain it, I already have it. Amen. So I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places because that's what it says here in past tense, who has blessed us. So the moment that you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the moment you step into the kingdom of God, He blessed you immediately with all his spiritual blessings in heavenly places. And that's a powerful truth. And so, but just to say that you are blessed, you know, just to read it and then say, Oh, I'm blessed, I'm blessed, I'm blessed, man, I'm blessed going in, I'm blessed going out, I'm blessed in the city, and I'm blessed in the land, I'm blessed going up, and I'm blessed going down, I'm blessed everywhere, man. I'm blessed, I'm blessed, you know, which is amazing. You mean you need to proclaim it in truth and in faith, amen. So I'm 100% true. But if you don't know, do not know what that blessing contains, if you do not know what it really means to be blessed with every spiritual blessing, then you're just saying that you are blessed. But man, all right, so what do you mean with I'm blessed? Well, I'm blessed, you know. Well, yeah, but can you explain to me what it is that you have been blessed with, what that means for you and your life that you are living now? Well, you know, I'm blessed because God says I'm blessed. No, it's important to know what it contains so that we also can enjoy the blessing, amen. Well, all spiritual blessings in heavenly places are already a fact for us as believers in Christ Jesus, and it cannot be undone. Man, all right, it cannot be undone. Why? Because Romans 11 29 says that God's gifts and callings are irrevocable, they are without repentance, and so once God has blessed it, nobody can curse it or turn it around. It's it's already done, He has blessed us, and so you can already say, I am blessed in Christ Jesus with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places, and so and it's very important to say that, you know, um, but then let's find out what that means. So, some of those spiritual blessings that we have received in Christ Jesus, because there are like hundreds, I'm I don't have even the time to share on that all, even if I want it, but some of them is that we are accepted, we are adopted, and we have been chosen, hand picked by God in Christ Jesus. We can read it in verse 5 of Ephesians 1. He says that He has well, let's read verse 4 also, that He chose us, so we are chosen, and He did that before the foundations of the world, and He has predestined me and you, you and me to be adapted as His sons in Christ Jesus, and so that's a spiritual blessing that I've been chosen and I have been accepted, not rejected. You know, he has handpicked me, you know, and he and he embraced me and took me in as his son in Christ Jesus because he choose me before the foundations of the earth. Man, before God created the heavens and the earth, before he created the fish in the sea and the animals on the land and the and the birds in the sky, before he created anything that he has created, he already chose you to be adopted as his son or as his daughter in Christ Jesus. Talking about, you know, in Christ. In Christ I'm chosen, I am adopted, and I am handpicked by Christ, by God, in Christ Jesus, I am accepted as his beloved son. So every time that you experience rejection, every time that you that you experience, you know, uh feelings or thoughts, you know, that maybe you know God doesn't want you, or maybe you are one unwanted in what kind of way whatsoever, you know, I'm telling you the devil is a liar. Because God never rejects you, He accepts you. You are accepted in the beloved, not rejected, accepted. So you can say, I am accepted, I am chosen, I am predestined, I am adopted, I am holy, pure, and blameless before him in love because that's what my God teaches me in his word, and I believe that with all my heart. That's one of the spiritual blessings, or some of the spiritual blessings that I've been blessed with, that he has blessed me with in Christ Jesus. Man, that's beautiful. He says in 2 Corinthians 6, verse 18, he says, I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and my daughters. I mean, what an intimacy, what a what a communion that God is offering us, you know, what a heart our father has that he says, you know, I will be your father. I will be a father to you. You know, maybe you've been through things in life, maybe you have encountered problems with your own natural daddy, you know, your biological daddy, you know, or maybe your stepdaddy or whatever. Maybe you have all kinds of troubles and issues or rejection, you know, abuse, violence, or whatever. But God says, wait, I will be a father to you. I will be a good father, I will be a faithful father, I will be a father that is proud of you, that loves you, who's well pleased with you, who believes in you, always is there for you, will protect you, will provide for you. You know, I'm a good father, and you will be my son, you will be my daughter. Man, that's beautiful. Just to understand that there is a God that wants to be our father, and then when he is our father, he will do everything that you expect from a perfect father. You know, Jesus says, you know, you can call anybody your father here on earth because one is your father, and that is he who is in heaven. So you have daddies with your one father which is which is God. Amen. What a love, man, what an honor. 1 John 3 1 says, Behold, what manner of love has the Father bestowed upon us that we should be called children of God. Man, I am a child of God. There is this beautiful song that sings that I'm no longer a slave of fear, I am a child of God, which makes a will of a difference. Hallelujah. And so, you know, I am a child of God, I am his beloved son in whom he is well pleased. So that's another I am in Christ Jesus, you know, because in Christ Jesus I am his beloved son in whom he is well pleased, because as Jesus is, so are we in this world. Now, the cause of by what God can now make us his children is because of another spiritual blessing. And that spiritual blessing is that by the sacrifice of Christ we are redeemed of our old sin nature. The blessing is that you don't have to pay for your own sins and trespasses, for your own disobedience, your own punishment, because the chastisement of our peace was upon Christ. And so that the blessing is that you don't have to pay for it. The blessing is that Jesus has paid it for you, that we are now redeemed from the power of sin. Look what it says in Colossians 1.13. In Colossians 1.13. It's just a few pages away. Colossians 1 13 and 14 says that he has now again has is past tense, so he's not gone going to deliver you. He's not one day you will be delivered, one day when you get to heaven or anything like that. No, it says he has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins. And so I am delivered in Christ Jesus. I am delivered from the power of darkness, I am delivered from my sin nature, my old sin nature. I have been delivered from the power of sin, and I've been conveyed into the kingdom of the Son. Man, that's beautiful. Now I am redeemed because I have redemption through his blood. So I am redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and I have been forgiven of my sins. I am forgiven in Christ Jesus because of the spiritual blessing that he has blessed me with in Christ Jesus. Man, that's beautiful stuff. Look what it says in 1 Peter 1.18. 1 Peter 1.18. You see, you need to understand and you need to start to see yourself in him. And the more you see yourself in him, the more you will experience the freedom that he has set you free with. Because, you know, he who the Son sets free will be free indeed. Amen. And so there are so many Christians and believers, you know, that don't experience that freedom simply because they don't understand don't understand who they are in Christ. I'm not talking about who they are in the in the world, in the flesh, in the natural carnal man, you know, because there's nothing good there, but in Christ Jesus, we are what God says that we are. And if you truly believe that and act on it, walk by it, you know, and apply it in your life, then that will become manifest. 1 Peter 1:18 says, Knowing, so it's very important for you to know. Epignostis is also like you know, like really an intimate way of knowing face to face the God and his truth, because he is the God of truth, amen. So knowing his truth, knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, you were not redeemed with stuff that is in this world, because the things in this world couldn't redeem you. There is no money in the world, there is not a diamond so big that it could set you free from your it could redeem you from your sin nature, from the power of sin, and you know, cut your shekels loose and your and your ties loose, your chains, you know, nothing in this world or under the world. There was nothing, you know, nobody, not not uh, you know, I don't know, Elon Musk or you know, all those other guys that, you know, have such ridiculous amounts of money so they can do all this crazy stuff that they want to do, you know, but all their money, which can only buy things in this world, could can never ever afford, you know, the price that needed to be paid for you and for me to be ransomed. So we are not barred with corruptible things like silver or gold from your aimless conduct received by the tradition of your fathers. You see, because we were walking in the fertility of our minds, in the you know, our minds were like blinded, our hearts were hardened and darkened, you know, because of the mindset of the God of this world, that is the spirit that is working in the children of disobedience and that same mind that we had, you know, before Christ Jesus. And it was given to us, you know, by our sin when we were born into this world with our sin nature, but also it has been encouraged and taught to us, you know, because by the ways of the world, and so we have received this conduct by the tradition from our fathers. You know, it's been handing on and on and on. It's the way of the world, it's this world system. But we have been redeemed from that way. We have been redeemed from the old way, we have been redeemed from the carnal, natural way, we have been redeemed from that bond way where we were bound, you know, in sin under the power of sin, where we were slaves of the God of this world. We were we were redeemed from that, but not with silver or with gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. And so I have been bought with the with the blood of Jesus. I am redeemed by the blood of my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. This is one of my spiritual blessings that I have received in Christ Jesus, that I am now redeemed by the blood. Just say for a moment, you know, I am under the blood. I am under the blood, because the blood of Jesus has washed me, and the blood of Jesus keeps me clean, and the blood of Jesus protects me and saves me, you know, and the blood of Jesus has redeemed me. Hallelujah. Man, that's powerful, and so we are now redeemed from slavery, and we are having been we have been forgiven from our trespasses, you know, by the precious blood of Jesus. Now, when someone when someone bought, you know, in the old days, and thank God I I think there is still some modern day uh human trafficking and slavery, and not some, there is a lot of that, but we don't see it, and if we see it, we don't want to see it, you know. But there is a lot of human trafficking and slavery modern uh in modern days, which is horrible, which is really, really terrible that it even is possible in the time and age that we are living in. But you know, that's the way of the world. Um, but you know, in old history, when somebody had slaves, you know, it was just a trade which was normal. Now we say it's not normal, but there's a lot of stuff. Oh man, I don't, I'm not even gonna go in there. Forgive me that I even started. So in those days it was normal to have slaves, and then you know, they will be sold at the slave market. Now, most of the slaves they were shackled, you know, with uh and they had chains, you know, around their legs, you know, and their hands were shackled and their legs were shackled, you know, and and so they were tied up, they were bound, they were imprisoned. And when somebody bought that slave, then he could make that slave do whatever he wanted that slave to do. And so, you know, he would put him to work, you know, or you know, whatever he had, what the intentions were for him. And so, and this is because you know, he now belonged to that master that bought him, you know, he paid for him, and so he became his. And so we also were slaves, we were slaves of the God of this world, we are slaves to the power of sin, we were slaves of our flesh, you know, slaves of this sin nature that we had, and so we were bound by it. And we can read it in Ephesians 2 for uh verse 1. And so, but now, when Christ came, you know, with his precious blood, because that's the price that needed to be paid to redeem us from our sin nature, he went and bought us from the God of this world, he set us free, he redeemed us with his ransom that he paid, and that was his precious blood. Revelation 5, verse 9 says that he went, that he had been slaughtered, and he went and bought us with his blood for God out of every tribe, tongue, and nation. And so I have been bought with the precious blood of my Lord and Savior. Man, I don't even know if you really comprehend what that means, because God sent his own son, and his son went through all that that he went through, he suffered everything that he suffered, so that he could pour out his blood, and that with his blood he could buy you and me out of the hands of Satan, out of the kingdom of darkness, out of slavery, out of our sin nature, etc. etc. etc. He went and bought us with his blood. Man, this precious, precious, precious blood. You have been bought at a price. And so 1 Corinthians 6 20 says that we have been bought with a price. And so when Jesus came, he broke the change, he losed the chains, you know, he losed our shekels. You know, he bought us. Now he is our master. We call him rabbi, teacher, master. You know, but he bought us, and so now we belong to him. He bought us as slaves to set us free from the slavery. That's why he took away the chains and you and he took away the shekels. And so now we are free, because he who the Son sets free will be free indeed. And so God is a good master, he is a very good master. I belong to him because he has bought me. But then he said, I'm gonna set you free. I'm gonna let you go. You are free now. You can free, you are free to do, you know, the to make the choice that you want to make. Now, listen. Then he says, Listen, I set you free, but my will would be for you to serve me. My will would be for you to be with me and walk with me and do my will for your life. That's my will, but I'm not gonna force you, I'm not gonna twist your arm, I'm not gonna make you do all those things or else. Because that's not the kind of master that I am. That's not the kind of teacher that I am. That's not the kind of God that I am. Because I've given you a free will, and so you are now free to choose whether you're gonna follow me or you're gonna go back in the ways of the world and become you know bonded again. So this is my God, this is my king. He bought me as a slave, and then he has set me free from slavery, and then he asks me if I want to serve him. And then it's on to me whether I'm gonna want to do that or not. But you know, I couldn't I couldn't think on one reason, not one, why I wouldn't. Because he is the best, the best, the best master that you can serve in your life. Everybody is serving masters, and I I only serve one master, and his name is Jesus. Amen. And so you can decide. Galatians 4, verse 4 and 7. I'm gonna read it. It says here that we when the fullness of the time had gone, God has sent forth his son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the spirit of his son into your hearts, that is the spirit of sonship, crying out, Abba Father, therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son. And if you are a son, then you are also a heir of God through Christ Jesus. Ma'am, this is so powerful, you know, just to you for you to understand that when the fullness of the time had gone, when the moment, the right moment came in time, God sent forth his son, who laid down his deity and his majesty and became like a bondservant. He took on the form of man to become equal to us. And then he was obedient, he humiliated himself and was obedient to death, even to the death of the cross. He gave himself in the most horrific way you can imagine, poured out his blood as a sacrifice on the altar of the living God, and then he broke all the chains and loosened all the shackles and every every thing that could imprison us. He losed that, he has set us free from that by his blood, and we need to believe that, put our faith in the grace that he did that for us, in his sacrifice, and then it will be imputed and added to our accounts, and then we will be free. And so, Jesus, one of the spiritual blessings is that Jesus has set us free from slavery, and then he, that's also a spiritual blessing, asks us if we want to serve him. Because I see that it's a spiritual blessing. And then God sent forth his spirit, the spirit of his son into our hearts by which we call Abba, Father. And so now God becomes our father, Jesus becomes our master, he becomes our rabbi, our teacher, he is our brother, he is our savior, he's our redeemer, you know, he's my Lord, he's my healer, he's my provider, you know, and all this stuff. But he becomes my master. But uh, I am uh voluntarily, freely, but so willingly to serve him in whatever he wants me to serve him, because he is the best that can happen to you in your life. Man, what a blessing! What a blessing that we are now called sons of God, that we are now, you know, blessed with every spiritual blessing that we now have been redeemed from slavery, that we have redeemed, been redeemed from sin nature. What a blessing that God has done all that in Christ Jesus for you and for me. Because he chose us, predestined us, he accepted us, you know, before the foundation of the earth to be his beloved son or daughter. Man, what a love, what a grace, what a powerful message. I'm gonna continue this in the next episode, and I hope to see you again there. God bless you. Bye-bye.
